The sight of Lando lying so still made Charles want to fall to his knees and sob as he stared at the other. Lando's hands were joined on his stomach as if he was being presented for a funeral, and maybe he was. No one had been able to wake him yet. The King had hired the best healers. George had turned the kingdom apart finding different witches, even reaching out to those rumoured to practice black magic, but there was no one that could seem to break whatever cruse or spell Lando was under. "Oh my heart", Charles whispered as he sat on the stool beside the Prince's bed, "What happened to you" The tears started to fall when he lifted one of Lando's hands to hold and it was limp in his. It was as if Lando truly was no longer there. This was just a shell. Just an empty vessel that once was home to his husband to be, and Charles wished he could do something to fix this. "Our wedding was to be tomorrow", Charles whispered, his thumb brushing the ring that sat on Lando's finger as a promise, "You were so excited, and now...now..." He couldn't bring himself to say the words that lingered bitterly on his tongue. Charles would never be able to bring himself to say the words that had been thrown around. The fears that were carried by Lando's parents and his brother. He would never be able to sit and prepare for what George had warned him would happen if they couldn't fix this. "I love you", Charles whispered as he moved to sit on the bed. His hand lifted to brush the curls from Lando's face, smiling at the flowers that had been woven into them, probably by the nymphs that Lando had befriend as a child. They had tried to save him too Charles had been told. They had cried when he hadn't woken, but promised the King to preserve Lando's spirit in the forest he loved if anything happened. It would be a place to visit, they had promise, a way to feel close to him, but Charles didn't want that. "I wish you'd wake up", Charles swallowed back his tears, "I love you so much, my heart" With those words, Charles leaned in and pressed his lips to Lando's softly as the tears fell down his face. If this was a goodbye, Charles wanted Lando to know he was loved deeply and truely. He pulled back after a moment. His hand was still in Lando's hair, careful not to discturb the flowers before he brushed his own tears from where they had fallen onto Lando's cheeks. His fingers linger on warm skin, and when he went to pull away, he saw Lando's eyebrows draw together as if he was waking up. "Lando", Charles whispered, hope a crushing weight in his chest as he felt Lando's fingers twitch in his before those familiar blue-green eyes were staring up at him sleepily and Charles was kissing him again as Lando squeezed his fingers before he pulled back to yell out for George. "What happened?", Lando mumbled but Charles just shushed him softly as he cupped his face. "It doesn't matter, my heart", Charles choked on his words, "All that matters is that you're here"

what item would you bring to a deserted island to entertain yourself with?

lando norris. he’d whine a lot but he’d be entertaining. he would cry when we have to gut a fish and but then he’ll get good at it very quickly. likely we almost die several times cus we try to eat things in the jungle that should not be eaten. we would have fun trading stories over bootleg rum at a campfire. we both nearly suffer mental breakdowns, and make an an emotional support coconut that we christen “max”.

on day 162 oscar piastri turns up in a life raft he build out of eucalyptus bark to rescue both of us. we all almost make out with each other right then and there, but get interrupted by carlos sainz jr who has come to collect his friend in a chartered chopper that he’s flying himself. “lando i have come for you!” carlos shouts on the loud hailer. “we are here too!” i say on behalf of oscar and myself. carlos begrudgingly lets us onto the chopper. we all make international news and it’s a ministerial nightmare to coordinate how we find our way home. also it turns out that the desert island was masterminded by zak brown as a team building slash reality tv gambit to please investors. the end.
