Let's Talk #TheLoudHouse: Season 7 Final Thoughts
After a prolonged delay, the show's seventh season was overall decent.
For my final thoughts on Season 7 of The Loud House, feel free to keep reading. There will be spoilers.
The seventh season was overall decent, with a mixture of good and bad episodes. It continued the show's trend of balancing out stories between Lincoln and his friends as well as those involving his sisters, their friends, or the whole family.
It also had the show's first multi-part arc in the form of the Road Trip episodes. It was a fun storyline with the family going out of Royal Woods and traveling throughout the country. The arc allowed them to go places they might have normally not visited, such as Niagara Falls, the White House, and Route 66. The only downside was the finale, where the Louds go to Great Lakes City yet mostly avoid the Casagrandes until the last few minutes.
It was also the show's shortest season, with only 38 quarter-hour episodes within 20 half-hour blocks rather than the usual 26. This might have had something to do with the two films which came out during and after the season: Netflix's The Casagrandes Movie as well as the Paramount+ Original Film No Time To Spy.
Both productions presumably took up the missing blocks, as each ran the equivalent of six quarter-hour episodes. The former served as the spin-off's postscript, while the latter was Bentley Griffin's final appearance as Lincoln, long after being replaced halfway through this season with Sawyer Cole.
Despite the shorter episode count, this season still had a lot of stories that rarely involved the Louds themselves. It included episodes where Rusty and Morpheus (Lincoln and Lucy's respective friends) clashed with one another, Liam and his Mee Maw got rich, and even the older sisters' partners.
On that note, there were several good episodes.
Force of Habits: It affirmed Gavin as Leni's boyfriend and featured a rare interaction between him, Bobby, and Sam.
Party Fowl: This belated crossover with The Casagrandes has Sergio visit Royal Woods and wreak havoc with the Loud pets. It also serves as a follow-up to the latter group's past outings.
Doll Day Afternoon: From the Road Trip arc, it revealed the origins of Mr. Coconuts while also showing a rare glimpse into the family's past.
Leave No Van Behind: It expanded upon Vanzilla in a great story between Lynn Sr., Gramps, and Lana.
Twas the Fight Before Christmas: The latest holiday special expanded the Loud family by revealing Lynn's brother Lance and his own family (nicknamed by fans as the Loud Cousins) whom all happen to have names starting with S.
Said holiday episode also helped the show finally dethrone the original Rugrats to become Nickelodeon's second longest-running Nicktoon by episode count. Both it and The Fairly Odd Parents are still the second and third longest-running by length, respectively.
Tumblr media
As to how is that possible, The Loud House was able to surpass both of their respective episode counts due to never having gone on hiatus. By contrast, both of those shows briefly stopped production (but were not technically canceled) during their long runs.
Tumblr media
When it comes to the season's worst episodes...
Pranks Fore Nothing: A mostly dull adventure with Lori (and briefly Luan) at Fairway that best represented the show's difficultly in making exciting kid-friendly stories set within a university.
Bye Bye Birthday: While being the rare episode where a family member got older, with Lucy now being 9, it would have worked better if her spell was just a bad dream.
Fluff and Foiled: The Really Loud House episode "The Chore Thing" did a better take on the premise of Lincoln not wanting to do his chores.
There Will Be Mud: A lackluster parody of The Beverly Hillbillies involving Liam that has less of an ending and more of an abrupt stop.
Love Me Tenor: Of this season's episodes centering around Lincoln and his friends, this was the weakest by focusing on Gus and his singing in an underwhelming Season Finale.
If there were nitpicks to consider with the season, it would be Nickelodeon's bizarre scheduling. At one point, an entire week of premieres was delayed by several months. When they decided to finish airing the season, rather than spread out the remaining episodes over two weeks, Nickelodeon aired all of them within a single week so they could start airing Season 8 the following week.
Tumblr media
Of what has aired of Season 8 so far, it changed up the status quo yet again by having Lori move back to Royal Woods but now living next door to the family in Mr. Grouse's garage. It now allows Lori to show up more often as opposed to contriving her way back home.
As for what to expect next on the show, following No Time To Spy, an hour-long Halloween special is expected to air this fall. In addition, the family will return to Europe in the form of a trip to London, which may or may not bring back a certain character from the first movie.
There is also the possibility that the former special will feature the long-awaited reveal of Lucy's eyes, as a storyboard of said moment leaked this past Spring.
Tumblr media
Regardless of what happens next, the show should continue to get better and better.
The Loud House airs on Nickelodeon and streams on Paramount+.
Until next time, thank you for reading!

timmy has RAGING adhd, and due to his parents hardly knowing him, it wasn’t until his late teens that he was able to figure out he had it thanks to the assistance of cosmo and wanda. it heavily impacted his grades in school and made it difficult for him to sit still and focus, something he still struggles with heavily to this day despite being on medication.
timmy really loves the scott pilgrim graphic novel series, and he has the entire hardcover collection on display in his bedroom. in light of that, the movie is also a comfort one of his and he is pretty obsessed with it and any medium scott pilgrim comes in. he sees himself in scott pilgrim and identifies with him.
cosmo and wanda really replaced his absent parents and he looks to them as one would a mother and father. he truly values their opinions and judgements of him and is beyond grateful for everything they had done for him. that isn’t to say he doesn’t get moody or bratty with them sometimes, but they spoiled him when no one else would even hold eye contact. he is constantly trying to find a way to repay them for that.
timmy is a bit of a … serial crusher. when he develops a crush on someone its DEBILITATING. it becomes 50% of his personality and anyone who is in his close circle will know more about timmy’s crush than his own interests or hobbies. it’s embarrassing but timmy just wants to love and be loved. can you blame him??
timmy was the kind of kid who would hide under the covers with a flashlight after bedtime, staying up late into the evening just diving into the worlds of his heroes and their adventures, using their stories to lull him into a dream where he was just as adored and admired as the characters in his comics. comics truly were a support system for him before cosmo and wanda and they still are to this day.
sometimes, timmy gets mad he couldn’t keep cosmo and wanda as his god parents. he feels a ridiculous sense of jealousy if they ever talk about other kids and is devastated by even the CONCEPT of having to share them. there have been many times where timmy has just sat down on his bed and pleaded with the universe to turn time back so he can go back to the times he spent with them, having every wish he could imagine granted, having not a care in the world.
he actually... doesn't know the names of his parents. they never talked to him about himself or themselves enough for any sort of conversation regarding their names to even be brought up. so, he simply doesn't know their names- not that it matters much now.

Kingston SE
Day 13    26 February
We drove south to Bordertown and on to Naracoorte today.  We pulled into a roadside stop along the way to eat our lunch and in no time, two guys with trucks and earthmoving equipment turned up to work on improving the surface of the parking area – it certainly needed it!  They said it would very soon become very noisy and dusty and they needed to work in the area where we were parked so we moved a hundred metres further on to another patch of shade and gobbled our lunch down just as they were starting to work.
We thought we might have stayed in Naracoorte but decided to go a bit further to Kingston (SE) on the coast.  We set up in the foreshore caravan park there and relaxed with a couple of cold ones before dinner.
Tumblr media
The Cape Jaffa Lighthouse overlooking our caravan park. It was repositioned here when the Light was decommisioned at Cape Jaffa.
The caravan park was just across a lawn area and a couple of dunes to the beach so we walked down to the beach to join the small throng congregating there to photograph the sunset.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sunset from the beach.
Day 14    27 February
We did a load of washing in the park laundry and hung it out to dry – and it was dry within about an hour.  We worked on our PCs and made some phone calls (we are trying to find a better place to store our van when we get home) and had a delicious lunch.  We eat very well (VERY well!) in the caravan!  And then we went for a drive around town and the nearby area.  I found quite a few birds near the mouth of the Main Drain and when we drove down some of the other tracks off the main north-south road, we discovered that driving on the beach is a very common thing here.  One of the drives was fourteen kilometres each way but we just did a short one – about five clicks each way.  At one point along the beach, we encountered a flock of some twenty-odd Red-capped Plovers who were surprisingly unfazed by us.  They happily sat ten or fifteen metres away and let us watch and photograph them with no sign of fear.  It was a lovely little encounter and we returned to the van soon after.  We had been trying to get rid of some recycling that we had accumulated but couldn’t see any yellow-topped bins, so I called in at the Information Centre to see if they did recycling here.  They do but it is all very strange with green-topped bins being the only disposal avenue - and only for private premises.  We eventually found some in the caravan park but none on the street – at least we managed to ‘put it in a bin’ and our conscience is now clear. (More than a week later, we have found no other way to dispose of our later cache of recycling.)
Day 15    28 February
It rained for about ten or fifteen minutes overnight, contrary to the forecast of zero percent of zero millimetres of precipitation – but at least everything seemed just a little cooler and fresher when we got up.
We had a long drive today but one of the best days of the trip so far.  We headed out to the main highway and pointed the car north – and eventually reached Meningie at the top of the Coorong after travelling the full length and then some – well over 300 kilometres for the day.
The road is mainly on the inside of a long range of dunes, the crest of which ripples along unevenly.  It was notable that all the high spots on the dunes had a sparce covering of some sort of grass or shrubbery on it: clear evidence that even very small shrubs can withstand the winds better than the adjacent areas that are much more heavily eroded and metres lower than the peaks.
We called in at a number of places as we headed north.  The first was at Chinamen’s Wells – something of a tribute to the thousands of Chinese adventurers who arrived along the coast here and walked (or died along the way) to the gold mining enticements around Ballarat and Bendigo.  Brave souls, but they left a legacy, and we did an interesting couple of kilometres fairly gentle walk recording some of their travails, looking at plants and birds and reading the signage as we went along.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A well dug and used by thousands of Chinese (and others) walking to Ballarat, Bendigo and other gold-mining adventures. The 1100 kilogram lid for the well was cut from the rock a kilometre away and carried to the well - the second such lid cut after the first one cracked in two.
We had another longish walk to a Pelican Lookout a good deal further north.  It was a bit disappointing with the pelicans way too far away to see them, but with some spectacular views overhead as they glided in to their roosting islands from miles away.  (See my earlier post showing some of the hundreds of pelicans that flew over us like a squadron of huge bombers gliding in on the updrafts to land on their breeding islands a couple of kilometres away.)  They are magnificent birds, just riding the air currents and they really do remind me of WWII bombers sailing over us – massive and truly fabulous.  We were surrounded by dozens of Singing and Spiny-cheeked Honeyeaters, flitting from bush to bush, singing incessantly, but almost impossible to photograph.  I have identified more than eighty species of bird so far this trip, but there are MANY small birds that simply hide and I have been unable to see them well enough to identify them.  I saw a very shiny dark snake crossing the path six or seven metres ahead of me but really too far away to identify it.  It was a metre-and-a-half long, but I had no wish to encounter it close up.
We drove all the way to Meningie where we had stayed for a week or so (and loved it) several years ago.  Unfortunately, it was getting late and we had about 150 kilometres to drive back so we didn’t stay long – and like every other place along the coast, it has changed a lot and didn’t seem to have the appeal of our previous visits.
We called in at a place where a couple of farmers cut a channel to drain a swamp on their properties 70-odd years ago. We had seen it before, but the signage has been upgraded since then and we got a better understanding of what a mammoth job it was for two guys with some pretty basic mechanical assistance. They completed it in less than three years - and ran their farms at the same time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The sign and a photo of the kilometre long and 34-metre deep channel they cut to make their land more productive.
We also called in at Tilley’s Swamp on the way back.  I had seen a few swamps marked on the map, but all were a fair way from the highway.  Tilley’s was right on the road according to the map but it was at least ten clicks in.  I was about to turn back when we crested a hill and there it was on both sides of the road and with plenty of birds to be seen.  We spent half an hour looking and then went on to where a number of other lakes were shown on the map – but all too far away and inaccessible from the road.  At least Tilley’s was interesting for me, with at least ten or twelve species on it.
We decided to stay in Kingston for another couple of days so tried to book in, only to find the office closed – so we had to wait until tomorrow to book and pay.  We have a mammoth Fifth Wheeler parked next to us in the park.  (And I saw a similar one in the RV Park on the other side of town.)  It takes up two caravan parking sites and I reckon it is more than two-thirds the size of our entire apartment.  It has two levels (giving it more floorspace than our whole apartment) and two extendable areas on each side of the vehicle – four in total.  They have small Mazda parked in front of it (that they left running with the lights on for about three hours yesterday) but that would get crushed by the ball-weight if they ever tried to hook it up – quite impossible of course because it requires a B-Double type of hitch.  The smallest vehicle that could tow it is something like a Ford 400 or similar.  I have seen an older guy there a couple of times, but he would need a wife and a family of ten to fill all the space inside.  (A couple of days later, there was a woman with a couple of young kids there – along with a silver Mercedes – but still nothing like the vehicle that would be needed to tow it.)
Day 16  29 February
It seems like years since we had an exceptional day like today – exactly four years in fact, but at least it is the end of summer.  We didn’t do a lot today.  We did a small load of washing in the laundry (we usually do it in our plunger washing bucket) and hung everything on the line – and it was all dry within an hour or so – it was warm and sunny but also very windy.  Heather had a script to fill so we found a pharmacy and drove around the local area a bit more.  We went out to the mouth of the creek looking at more birds but there was less variety to see than when we were there a couple of days ago.
Day 17  1 March
Autumn today with fabulous weather to match.  It was a nice day for a drive so we set off to follow the coastal road to Cape Jaffa (not a lot to see, but easy to get lost in all the new development) and then on to Robe.  We have visited Robe a couple of times before and not liked it with their wall-to-wall tourists.  It is now several times bigger than it was on our last visit with roughly ten thousand caravans crowding the van parks, lining the streets, blocking intersections and generally outnumbering the locals twenty to one (maybe fifty - just a guess!).  We drove around and took in some of the sights before sitting beside a pretty ordinary lake to eat our sangers.  The town has obviously developed a lot since we were last there but it still has very little to recommend it to anyone who has any interest in anything except sitting on the beach or going fishing.  It was certainly a great place from which to drive away.  The one good thing we did while there was to find a fish wholesaler and we stocked up on a variety of seafood.  We also visited the supermarket for a couple of items and replenished our stock of booze.  The one thing we have tried to get at numerous places along the Limestone Coast – that is famous for its cockles – is coochies as they call them here.  Nobody stocks them and their best advice is to try at Goolwa more than two hundred kilometres away. They sell bags of cockles/coochies for bait ($15 for a 250 gram bag) but they say they are not good to eat.
We went on to Beachport – more of the same, but maybe not quite as nice.  I think I am over places with nothing to offer other than their crowded beaches.  I live in hope that I will see an unusual seabird or wader when I visit the beach, but such delights are very rare.
Milicent and Penola came next with a bit more historical context, with old stone buildings and some nice parks, but it was getting late so we didn’t spend a lot of time at either and headed back to Kingston.  We needed fuel and our 265 litres cost us a tad over $537 – at least we travelled over a thousand clicks for our money – at almost 52 cents a kilometre.
We decided on fish and chips for dinner so went to the main fish-jetty shop that advertises that it closes at 7.30pm.  Alas, it closed before we arrived at 5.30.  We found another place and ordered our meal there along with about five other groups.  They must stockpile the orders and then cook them all together.  We all had to wait ages – certainly at least 45 minutes – and then all the orders came together and because some of the orders were very similar, it took a couple of minutes to figure out who owned which order.  But the fish was excellent and the chips were crisp and tasty, just how we like them.
Day 17  2 March
We spent the day around the van today.  We walked down to the beach after breakfast and spent a bit over half an hour shuffling around in the sand at the water’s edge hoping to catch a meal of cockles for ourselves.  There were heaps of shells around, but no cockles so I think the locals must have fished them out.  They are obviously around along other beaches, certainly north from here, but not where we were – or was that just my fishing prowess being exhibited again?
We did some washing and around lunchtime, the wind came up and it was no violent that we had to roll the awning in.  It has been pretty wild and noisy all afternoon but it has also been quite cool so we can’t complain.  I wrote a bit more and caught up with a few deferred tasks before showers late in the afternoon and then yet another delicious dinner.

Ian was fairly certain he could just nap in the short time it took for Nick to go to his van and return, and he was fine with that because while Ian was not particularly lazy by nature, there were too many things over the course of the day that his brain screamed him that he had to attend to, he didn't mind being so then.
Even if it was amusingly frustrating that he didn't have hardly anything to actually do around the house because Tony had been insistently keeping everything in order and spotless to agree that Ian couldn't actually argue with, determined between his adventures out for school and reconnecting with people to make sure that there was no reason Ian had to move from his comfortable spot on the couch or the office when he wandered in there to write.
His eyes had only just begun to drop shut when Nick returned, shaking him out of that half asleep daze when you watched him roam around the kitchen. That felt strange honestly, aside from Eilonwy, their rarely was anyone in that kitchen but Tony and himself. It wasn't really a problem, it was just that Ian had begun to feel almost hyper aware in the past few days of just how much his and Tony's life had been centered around each other because they were the only certainties from year to year.
And now that was different, and everyone was closer to a certainty, and there were so many other people that Ian now had to make space for. He hated to think that it was a little uncomfortable, that he didn't really like the change very much himself and change didn't come particularly easy to him, but it was hard to argue those things when Tony had been so happy lately.
But his thoughts were broken with a flicker of apprehension because whatever that concoction was it smelled absolutely atrocious and Ian suddenly had a better sense of how Tony must have felt with Linden's attempts to help him. He didn't have to guess to know that it wasn't going to be awful.
He was quite right, after the first sip he felt a twinge of nausea at the taste, and the unfamiliarity that went with it, his body wasn't quite sure what to make of this new thing that felt correct but not fully.
"Oh, that's...unpleasant." he mumbled, a bit apologetic in the comment after. But it was, I was also a sort of odd warmth but he couldn't place. "That feels very strange."

{OUT-DATED} Disproving some points in Game Theory’s In Space with Markiplier theory video
To set some ground rules:
The character the audience assumes in WKM, ADWM, AHWM and ISWM will be referred to as Y/N, DA (District Attorney), the Captain and also with the ‘we’, ‘us’ pronouns occasionally.
WKM makes it fairly obvious that Celine and Damien kicked the DA out of their body, trapping us in the mirror.
We also learn that Damien represents the blue in Dark’s signature glitches and Celine, the red.
The Head Engineer is Actor Mark.
The audience's role has always been the District Attorney (Y/N):
In WKM, we give Actor Mark’s butler an invitation with our name and occupation on it: Y/N District Attorney  on it. We can safely assume that, here, we are the District Attorney in this story.
In ADWM we meet Darkiplier, the combination of Celine and Damien in our old body, which you can tell via his glitches. Red and blue. In the ending where we reject Mark’s proposal, it’s shown that he’s changed our last name to his already. We see the documents state that our name is ‘Y/N Fischbach’.
The same thing with AHWM, however the red is much more prominent here. When being registered into the prison, the person taking the register says ‘and one Your...’ its pretty obvious this is supposed to be Y/N (Your name).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
DAMIEN is about Celine finally letting herself take the backseat to revenge and letting Damien assume control (or majority control) over the body. Damien, by the end of DAMIEN, fully accepts the role of villain.
So… why then.. Would ISWM be about that exact same thing? Why would Mark break away from the established fact that the audience is the DA to tell a story he’s already told before? He would be abandoning a character that’s arguably kinda integral to the Markiplier Cinematic Universe in lieu of telling a story he’s already told before.
 The whole friend thing:
With Damien now being the villain in Actor Mark’s eyes, he now has a role in his story that nobody is playing: the best friend. I propose that Mark befriended the DA sometime after the whole body snatching thing and makes them assume Damien’s old role as his ‘best friend’. He wants someone to have fun with, someone to go on Heists or in Space with.
We can safely assume that Y/N and Mark have been going on adventures for a while. After all, WKM is set sometime in the 1920s and stuff like the van vlogs are set in 2017, when they were filmed. Old Mark in the true ending could literally just be referring to that; their almost 100 years long companionship. Y/N and Mark have had a literal century to get close and become besties. Y/N is also presumably the only person Actor Mark really interacts with meaningfully. With this context, it makes complete sense that Mark would call the Captain his ‘close confidant’ and other such things.
Tumblr media
Also, in WKM, during the speech, Actor gestures to Y/N when saying ‘trusted friends’:
‘[...] So good to be surrounded by such close and trusted friends.’
So if we do supposedly go way back even then, it really isn’t all the odd that Mark would describe us in close terms with him.
Why don’t we hate Mark after what he’s done?
Dorene trying to jog our memory in the third ‘Wake the Crew’ path on the ‘Extinguish the Fire’ route could very simply be her trying to jog the DA’s memory, example: ‘Makes you feel like you’ve gone through all this before. Do you understand, dearie?’ , ‘Seems too good to be true, right dearie?’
Why would Celine try and remind Damien of the events of WKM? Isn’t she trying to do the opposite thing in DAMIEN? With the whole ‘Go to sleep.’ stuff. She doesn’t need to remind Damien of WKM anyway, because he remembers in DAMIEN without any help from her.
Damien gets reminded fairly easily of the events in WKM by Actor Mark’s recounting of it in DAMIEN (10:45), Dark seems to be trying to use the same tactics on us:
In Ending 31 of Heist we begin going down this dark hallway with framed pictures of the characters in WKM. We don’t particularly react to any portrait, not even Wilford’s which is odd. You think maybe Y/N would recoil in some way to being reminded of the cause of their death but nothing.
Tumblr media
Dark’s been trying to remind Y/N of the events of WKM for a while now. It seems they must’ve forgotten what happened at some point after Damien and Celine body snatch ‘em and before they started going on adventures with Mark.
It would explain why we don’t have much, if any, dislike for either Wilford or Dark, we simply don’t remember what happened.
‘Hero Vs the Villain’ is just Actor Mark being a theatre kid:
‘A villain. Every good story needs a villain.’ In order to make ISWM Part I ‘good’ in Actor Mark’s eyes, it’s to have someone, anyone, be the villain. The Captain is an easy option after all, nobody else other than Actor Mark himself has been this involved with the wormhole. In Actor’s mind, he can’t ever be the villain (Mark said this himself in one of the lore streams) so he defers the role onto the Captain, even if they seem to be friends.
In DAMIEN: ‘You really think that you're the hero in all of this?’, ‘Well, of course I am! Who else could I possibly be?’.
Actor Mark is, well… an actor. He’s theatrical. It makes sense that he would amp stuff up for a dramatic ending to the story. He makes you the villain for that moment because there aren’t really any other viable candidates. It’s also possibly why he forgives the Captain so easily, because they’re friends and it’s not all that serious to him anyway. He is simply acting out a story with you and that’s how that one went. You can’t honestly watch the scene where Old Mark is trying to kill you and think it’s serious-serious, it’s all just fun and games to Actor.
Tumblr media
He also does this in DAMIEN, where he doesn’t really treat the events of WKM like it was anything serious. He wants people to forgive and forget easily so he can jump to the next adventure where he has the starring role (‘That’s all in the past, what matters is moving forward.’). Which brings me to…
The apology:
Actor Mark apologises to the Captain just before resetting the universe, ‘I’m sorry about a lot of things.’
This one honestly stumped me for a bit. My current belief is that he’s not apologising for anything that he’s done, it doesn’t really fit into his character to do something like that. See this bit from DAMIEN:
‘I wanted to apologise [...] Mistakes were made. Plans weren’t exactly properly executed. The right people started pointing fingers at the wrong people and a good night with some good friends may have taken a wrong turn at some point.’ This is a very embellished telling of WKM, entirely from Actor Mark’s perspective. He didn’t intend for all this drama to happen. He executed his part perfectly, it’s everyone else that messed stuff up. It’s not a true apology.
I think that bit in the ending of Part I wasn’t apologising for anything he did in particular but just expressing that he feels sorry that Y/N was involved in WKM at all. I sincerely doubt we were supposed to be anything other than a witness at the party.
He feels genuinely sorry because he hadn’t intended for ANY of this to happen to the DA. He believes it’s entirely Wilford, Damien and Celine’s fault for screwing with his plan.
But I can’t say that everything he said was weird. He does bring up some good points like the whole Dorene calling us ‘stubborn’ and those notes in the Upside-Down world saying that we, the Captain, need to go to sleep. I’m not sure if I can explain those ones away. Maybe someone smarter than me can.
But hey... those are my two cents. Agree and disagree as you wish :D This is all just fun!

Texts from the Lost Tomb, part 5.2
Also yes this is a 5 part story arc, why do you ask, no I’m not “avoiding real life work”
Main Chat
Wang Pangzi: YOU KNOW THERE ARE THOSE WHO WOULD COMPLAIN ABOUT BEING DRAGGED OUT OF BED AT AN UNGODLY HOUR FOR THE SAKE OF SOME JEWELRY AND FORCED INTO AN ADVENTURE
Wu Xie: And we are just so grateful you are above all that.
Zhang Qiling: You were fully awake and insisted we pack and go as soon as possible in case there was, and I quote, “more weird shit happening we can cash in on.”
Wu Xie: I mean it’s kind of interesting that the Zhang family sent a car for us. We could have driven. So what is going on there, I wonder?
Wang Pangzi: YOU KNOW FOR A PARANOID AND CONNIVING LITTLE SHIT YOU STILL RADIATE OBLIVIOUS BAMBI ENERGY
HATE TO BE THE ADMIRAL ACKBAR HERE BUT ITS DEF A TRAP MY BOY
WHY DO U THINK WE ARE MESSAGING AND NOT TALKING DUMMY
WERE YOU IN A TOMB ON THE DAY THEY TAUGHT PPL STRANGER DANGER
BUT NO NO YOU WERE ALL “LETS GET IN THE VAN WITH THE FREE CANDY AND PUPPIES I BET WE’RE GOING TO THE CIRCUS”
THIS IS THE LAST STRAW IM LOJACKING YOU FOR REAL THIS TIME, SHOULDVE DONE THIS YEARS AGO
Zhang Qiling: I agree, in this particular case, with Pangzi. You should not have gotten in their vehicle while we were still inside the house. It forced us to follow you into the van to prevent separation, and they seemed to be expecting that. I don’t know whether Zhang Rishan intended this, but I don’t trust him.
Wu Xie: :( I got excited and didn’t think it through. I’m sorry.
Wang Pangzi: DONT YOU GIVE US THE BIG EYES WE ARE IMMUNE
MOSTLY
SPEAKING OF IMMUNE ITS REALLY FUCKIN COLD IN HERE AND UR STILL SICK, PUT YOUR JACKET ON STUPID
Wu Xie: oh relax, I’m fine. No fever at all today, remember? I feel a lot better, too.
Wang Pangzi: YOU LEAVE ME NO CHOICE BUT TO HAVE XIAO GE INTERVENE
Zhang Qiling: It is odd to say this, but Pangzi is right again. You are barely back on your feet and could easily get worse again. Wu Xie. Jacket. Now.
Wu Xie: Oh fine. Teaming up on me, I see. Happy now?
Wang Pangzi: FUCKING ECSTATIC. NOW BACK TO HOW WE MAY BE PULLING A LI CU
Wu Xie: If it is an abduction, it wouldn’t be them moving against the whole Wu family—not with Uncle Erbai in charge. Zhang Rishan strikes me as someone who doesn’t make a move unless he is sure of his plan, and this is all a bit last-minute to be a big shift. Besides, they let Xiao Ge keep his sword and we still have all our phones.
Wang Pangzi: TOOK AWAY MY EXPLOSIVES THO THE BASTARDS
Zhang Qiling: In fairness, you were waving them around and yelling that if they tried anything it was going to be “yippeekiyay motherfucker all up in this bitch.”
Wang Pangzi: IT SOUNDS LESS COOL COMING FROM YOU. I THINK I SEE THE TEAHOUSE?
Wu Xie: me too. That’s Zhang Rishan on the steps. This must be urgent. Everybody stay shiny.
Zhang Qiling: I will be getting out first. Wu Xie in the middle, Pangzi at the rear.
Wang Pangzi: AND WHAT A VIEW;)
An hour later…
Main Chat
Wu Xie: Is everyone okay? I tried knocking but nothing is getting through, these are some solid walls.
Wu Xie: guys???
Wang Pangzi: OOPS PHONE WAS ON SILENT AND I WAS BUSY YELLING AT THE CEILING
IM PRESENT AND PISSED OFF
Zhang Qiling: Apologies, I was trying to break down the door.
Wang Pangzi: SO THIS MAY NOT BE THE TIME TO SAY I TOLD YOU SO BUT WHILE WE’RE HERE
Wu Xie: fuck Pangzi, I know, okay??
I’m an idiot, I’m so fucking stupid. It’s not like it’s the first or fiftieth time I’ve put you two in danger, either.
Wang Pangzi: HEY HEY WHOA NOW
STOP SAYING RUDE SHIT ABOUT MY FRIEND
ITS GONNA BE OKAY
DESPITE KNOWING THIS WAS A BAD IDEA I STILL COULDNT PREDICT HOW MUCH CHAOTIC LUCK THIS FAMILY HAS
DAMN IT I HATE WHEN HEI XIAZI IS RIGHT ABOUT THINGS
Zhang Qiling: I’m sorry. This is my fault. My line has a ruthlessly pragmatic streak and they’ve clearly wanted to test us separately to see why the necklace reacted to our arrival like that. It does not excuse Zhang Rishan trapping us in these separate rooms.
Wang Pangzi: UHH BITCH I SAID THIS FAMILY NOT YOUR FAMILY
THIS AINT ABOUT THEM
YOUR FAMILY IS ON MY SHIT LIST EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
THIS FAMILY MEANT US OBVS
UGH ANY SIGN OF THE BASTARDS?
Zhang Qiling: no. Wu Xie?
Zhang Qiling: Wu Xie, answer me.
Wang Pangzi: WU XIE
TIANZHEN
PICK UP YOUR FUCKING PHONE DAMNIT YOU'RE SCARING XIAOGE
Zhang Qiling: I’m going to try breaking down the door again.
Wu Xie: Hello, Wang Pangzi and Zhang Qiling. My apologies for the rather inhospitable circumstances, but this seemed expedient considering the unknown qualities of the necklace. I could not be sure who was causing what, or what could happen next, and thus have temporarily set you in separate rooms for the sake of everyone’s safety.
Wang Pangzi: WTF GIVE HIM BACK HIS FUCKIN PHONE ZHANG RISHAN I KNOW ITS YOU YOU PRETENTIOUS ANTIQUE
WE DESTROYED THIS PLACE BEFORE AND WE CAN DO IT AGAIN
Zhang Qiling: Your concerns for everyone’s safety are noted. Thank you for whatever you believe you’ve done right here.
Now. If you release us immediately and return Wu Xie to us, we will consider leaving without direct personal retribution.
Wang Pangzi: WHAT HE SAID AND ALSO YOU SUCK
Wu Xie: I regret that this has happened, I hope to make it up to you in the future. For the purpose of today’s needs, however—I will have my men escort the two of you out if you so desire, but unfortunately Wu Xie will need to stay until we have finished examining him.
Wang Pangzi: EXAMINING??? YOU FUCKING PERV HANDS OFF HE MAY BE THE BELLE OF THE BALL BUT HIS DANCE CARD IS SPOKEN FOR
I SWEAR I DID NOT GO THROUGH TEN YEARS OF THIS STARCROSSED CLUSTERFUCK FOR YOU TO SWOOP IN AND STEAL MY FRIENDS BF
Wu Xie: There is no call for rudeness. He will not be harmed. The artifact was responding to him directly. It has not lit up like this in over 200 years, and I need to understand why it is responding, and responding to someone who is not our kin, which it has never done before. This could have implications for everyone in my family if it could protect someone at the right moment.
Wang Pangzi: OKAY BUT CONSIDERING OUR TRACK RECORD IN THIS BUILDING AND THE SITUATION AT HAND Y’ALL ARE ABOUT TO NEED PROTECTION
Wu Xie: The testing would be going better if Wu Xie wasn’t worrying himself unnecessarily over where you both are, it’s making our readings difficult.
Wang Pangzi: OH GEE SO SORRY YOUR KIDNAPPING VICTIMS ARENT THRILLED TO BE HERE TO SAMPLE YOUR CREEPY JEWELRY BOX BUT THAT SOUNDS LIKE A YOU PROBLEM
Zhang Qiling: Zhang Rishan. I appreciate that you must think of our family first in your decisions. As must I. I hope you can appreciate what that means for decisions I make.
Wang Pangzi: HEHEHE SO TRUE BESTIE
YOU PISSED OFF THE WRONG GOTH TODAY BUDDY BOY
Zhang Qiling: A compromise: we stay with him as you run your tests. That will calm him and assuage Pangzi’s concerns and prevent me from…testing the limits of your lifespan.
Wu Xie: I accept that this may temporarily impact our relations, but am hopeful that you will come to understand that sometimes I need to make certain choices for this family that are…difficult. I will come to let you—One moment. Something seems to be happening.
Babysitters Club Chat
Wang Pangzi: OH SO WE ARE GONNA JUST POLITELY SIT WITH WU XIE AS STRANGERS POKE HIM WITH NEEDLES ARE WE HUH WELL LOOK WHOS BEING A HELPFUL LITTLE LAB ASSISTANT
Zhang Qiling: I’m attempting to convince him to let us out. Of course we will not simply sit there. Some lying to gain trust is necessary here.
Wang Pangzi: UR BEIN A SHADY BITCH XIAOGE AND ITS HOT
THATS WHY YOUR TATTOO IS SO BIG ITS FULL OF SECRETS
ALWAYS KNEW YOU HAD IT IN YOU TO—WAIT WHAT WAS THAT SOUND??
At the same time…
Bonnie and Clyde Chat
Xie Yuchen: …so, this is not what I expected to find.
Hei Yangjing: yeah kiddo is a bit freaked out:/ this sucks. I mean I get that they are concerned blah blah blah necklace goes brightbright but maybe we should go find the other two
or at least find a way to let Wu Xie know we are here, that room he’s in looks like a dungeon and not in a good way
Xie Yuchen: Does it look like I’m able to do anything right now? Also, I’m fairly certain they won’t be harmed. Zhang Rishan may be callous, but he isn’t stupid.
Hei Yangjing: r u kidding
he split up Romeo and Juliet, then left Romeo with a sword—seems pretty stupid to me
Xie Yuchen: Yeah I’m not going near that. He made his bed with that choice. What can you see? These Neanderthal guards are blocking my view.
Hei Yangjing: uh so there’s like a lab table situation
Wu Xie isn’t tied up, a good sign in this context
I can’t see what those people are holding, they’re talking a lot and some asshole just grabbed Wu Xie’s arm, looks like maybe they are putting in an IV?
The necklace is—oh. Oh shit.

Chapter 9: Vampires and Prison Visits
Synopsis: Out of nowhere, a vampire appears in Seoul looking to rob random objects that at first glance appear to have no connection. In the course of trying to figure out their intentions, you all find yourselves going to the local city prison where you meet one of the old members of Mystery Co.
Series Masterlist
------
“Isn’t this charity just wonderful Shayla?” Mina Park, Jay and Y/n’s mother clasped her hands together as she saw the total money count raise slowly.
“I guess the auction seems to be going well.” Shayla, your mother’s friend responded with an almost dry smile.
“Next up, is this painting.” The lead host brought out a painting of a castle, that to be fairly honest, caught no intentions of being purchased.
“Do I hear $5….$4…$3…?” No hands went up, and soon the room went dark with a power outage. A large movement was heard in the crowd and when the lights had returned, they witnessed a figure standing in the corner of the room.
It was the vampire holding the once disregarded painting.
------
“If I knew Sunghoon was going to try to brag about his body, I would have worked out.” Jay observed as his friend slowly removed his shirt as if trying to prove a point.
“Don’t be jealous my dear friend, I’m just perfect.” He had absolutely no guilt as he threw Sunghoon into the pool; a small complaint exited from the members who were already in the pool.
“You almost made me drop my smoothie!” Sunoo splashed water at Sunghoon who seemed to be planning his revenge while looking at both Jay and Jake who were seated by the edge.
In the meantime, you were comfortably resting in the pool chair next to Heeseung who was rambling on about methods to trap an intruder who trespassed onto your home.
“This is a disaster!” Your mother walked into the back pool and waved her hands through her hair.
“What happened Mrs.Park?”
“A vampire is what happened. They ruined the charity.” Jake, who had managed to somehow become her favorite, handed her a drink to de-stress from the night’s incident.
“Hmm, maybe it’s worth a try investigating don’t you think?”
“Maybe, but I’d rather stay here y’know, just exist.” You ignored Heeseung’s request and grabbed your earbuds.
“Count me out too, Jay and I plan to just lay here, in the sun.” Jake and Jay found a comfortable seat on the chairs and sat back with their smoothies.
“You guys are lame. Come on guys.” Heeseung first tossed a spare shirt to Sunghoon, then hurried the younger trio into the van to find this new undead member.
------
“If you were a vampire, where would you visit?” Heeseung asked while keeping his focus on the road before him.
“The arcade!” Niki responded enthusiastically, which gained the approval of the other members in the van.
“The cemetery sounds like a great idea Niki!” He pushed on the accelerator and sent the boys on a fun trip. Seeing as walking in the dark with tombs was not enough of an adventure for the five of them, they made their way to the blood bank next.
Sunghoon became the new designated driver as he waited for the oldest friend to return from the clinic.
“What do you think the others are doing?”
What were you doing? Absolutely nothing.
Thanks to your family wealth, you, Jay, and Jake were laying down as three workers had come to give the three of you a massage. None of you paid much attention to the world around you, that is until you saw your mother place a coat around her shoulders on the way out.
“Hey Mom, where are you going?” She turned around abruptly and gave a nervous response.
“To...uhm...get some bacon, yeah.” Her two feet dragged her off which left both you and Jay to wonder about her sudden words.
“Something’s up, she knows she’s allergic to pork.” All of you paused your massages and followed her out the door. Your mother’s footsteps quickened as time went on, and turn after turn led you to lose track of her.
“H-how does she walk that fast?”
“She speed walks every morning, but look, the garden lights are on, maybe she’s there.” Jay pointed at the brightened sphere a couple blocks away, leading you towards it.
In the meantime, Heeseung had returned from his trip; shirt and face covered in a red substance.
“I-is that blood?” Jungwon retreated backwards as he saw Heeseung take a towel to wipe his face.
“Nah, the juice box exploded. Relax.” Sunghoon chuckled at his odd friend before his eyes became drawn by a light shining below them.
“The city garden lights are on, that’s weird.” Heeseung pushed Sunghoon back into the shotgun seat before taking in the same sight. Then a loud shriek escaped from the same city garden.
“Maybe our vampire is there, let’s go.”
-------
The team of five members had arrived; their shadows visible on the flowers and bushes present inside the garden.
“Let’s set a trap. Sunoo, climb on Niki’s shoulders.” Jungwon helped Sunoo up onto Niki’s shoulders to set up the net on one of the branches. When they finished, all five of them made their way to hide behind the set of bushes that were planted nearby.
You, Jay, and Jake had appeared at the city garden as well. Without a sign of your mother, it seemed an almost hopeless mission, or until you startled the five teens waiting.
“Lee Heeseung, put me down!” Heeseung came to his senses when your voice traveled to his ears. As fast as he could, he helped untie the ropes alongside Sunghoon, which caused your bundle to come crashing down.
“Are you okay?” Jake beat Heeseung towards extending a hand to pick you up from the ground, leaving Heeseung to glare as you smiled at Jake.
“What are you guys doing here anyway? I thought you didn’t want to come.” Sunoo asked as he leaned against the trees in the area.
“Jay and Y/n’s mom left suddenly and we thought it was suspicious. We thought she would be here, but guess not.” The light from a lantern suddenly shined on their silhouettes, and the caretaker of the area had suddenly appeared.
“You kids better get home, it’s late and you’re trespassing.” Without much thought you obeyed the orders, slowly trailing towards the exit when the vampire appeared while dangling off one of the tree branches. Their body was hunched and their fangs snapped at your body as it chased all of you down. Eight bodies sprinted around the area until you came down toppling and getting stuck in one of the nearby exhibits.
The vampire sneakily leaned on towards the glass and took hold of the orchid planted in the ground, and she left once more without a trace.
“Ahh shit.” A sole curse word left the lips of Sunghoon who saw himself as the base of this unexpected pyramid.
------
“Sunghoon’s mother probably has a lot of information on vampires.” Jungwon was the first to enter the shop taking in the familiar scene from his early middle school days.
“Hey kids, what brings you here?” Sunghoon’s mother waved at your group, motioning to come take a seat by the countertops.
“We were hoping to get more information on vampires, with the recent cases and all.”
“Of course, all of this section will have everything you’re looking for.” She signaled at the four book cases paired up right after another. While the other members started on the first book case, you noticed a shadow moving in the background. Your intuition let you follow it without much care, and it knocked over a book from the shelf. You picked it up and placed it back before it bounced back; it happened at least two more times.
“The answers you seek.”
You opened it up and found a magazine inside: How to Achieve Immortal Youth
“Look.” You tossed the magazine into Jungwon’s hands who read off slowly from the page.
“Want to achieve immortal youth? Mixing these ingredients into one smoothie will achieve just that...a painting...an orchid...wine from 1917...and the devil’s ruby.”
“Looks like someone didn’t get the memo about this being a prank.” Sunoo continued to flip through pages, and confirmed that it was just another teen gossip magazine.
“If our vampire is following this recipe, then their next ingredient is 1917 wine.” Jay stared at you, knowing very well where they could get such wine.
“Minnie’s Restaurant is the only place in town with this kind, we go there sometimes.” All of you stared at one another until you got pulled into the next stop.
Yes ladies and gentleman, Heeseung was going to sneak his friends inside the wine vault of an expensive restaurant.
His first plan was to get a table directly, sending Sunghoon, Jake, and Jay into the place dressed as businessmen.
When that failed, he tried shoving Sunoo, Niki, and Jungwon through the back window of the kitchen.
When that also failed, he managed to sneak all of the team through the excuse of needing to go to the bathroom.
“Did you really tell them I was seven?” Niki looked at the oldest with disbelief as they finally managed to go into the wine vault.
But you and Jay stayed back, catching your mother eating dinner with her friend Shayla.
“Come on, before that freak show arrives.” The eight of you continued to scrummage through the bottles of wine, continuous sounds of clinking were audible through the entire room.
All of the flames on the torches suddenly went out, and the gust of wind followed the vampire as it leapt through the building tops. It once more tracked you down and ended up trapping you inside a room after continuous running through the halls.
“One more to go, and I’ll be young!” Jungwon banged his head against the metal pipes and observed as the vampire escaped through the backdoor, again.
-------
“I heard the last person who saw the devil’s ruby is at the local state prison.”
“It must be in their custody so it’s best to make the trap there.” Heeseung commented as he finally parked the classic van next to the entrance of the prison.
After a cautious security examination, your group finally managed to enter the facility. In the course of talking to an officer, and a tune escaping from your locket, a sudden voice emerged from afar.
“Well, well, if it isn’t the new mystery co.?”
“He spoke.” The guard quickly took out his keys and opened the white cell door.
“Who did?” Jake tried getting a response from the guard, but managed nothing when all of you saw a man dressed in prison uniform looking at all of you directly.
“He’s Daniel Kim, the one who made those kids disappear, he has never talked until now.” You opened your locket and glanced back on the man.
“You’re one of the original members of Mystery Co.”
“That’s right, but if there is anything I have to say is that you’re close to finding out about the curse hidden behind Seoul...ahh...and sometimes you have to be careful of the people around you, especially you Lee Heeseung.” Daniel used his head to signal at Heeseung who tensed up at the man’s statement.
“Visiting hours are over, hurry on.” The cell door closed once more and all of you stood agape looking at each other.
“One mystery at a time. First the vampire, then this.” A deep sigh left all of you while you attempted to dangle ropes over the building.
-------
“Why are Sunoo, Jungwon, and Niki covered in garlic?” Sunghoon and Jay judged the appearance of their friends who stood by the doorway.
“You can never be too prepared.” Sunoo shrugged his shoulders and followed Jake into their designated place of hiding and waiting for the vampire.
“I don’t care who the vampire is as long as it’s not my mom.” You commented while Heeseung used his binoculars to stay on lookout.
“Come on, yeah she’s a little odd, but not a vampire.” He gave you a smile, and you shoved him slightly as you all kept waiting.
Eventually, the vampire lunged forward from the rooftop and tried to swing at the ruby before one of its arms got caught in the net. It let itself go and tried to pry at the ruby again before Niki and Jungwon shouted in terror as they dropped on top of the vampire, squishing whoever was in the set-up.
“That was not the plan, but sure.” All of you helped Jungwon and Niki up and placed zip ties around the creature’s wrist.
“You know mom, this isn’t cool.” Jay crossed his arms before his mother standing behind him startled him.
“Wait, if mom isn’t the vampire then…” He pulled off the rubber mask which revealed your mother’s friend Shayla instead.
“Shayla?”
“That’s right. As many may see, my young looks have been fading away, but your mother...your mother just still looks stunning so I figured the only answer must be that she’s a vampire. I was reading a magazine when I saw the recipe for the immortal youth juice, which would fix my problems. Using my degree in physical education, I was able to rely on my strength alone to give myself the flying appearance. And I would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn’t for your young looking meddling mother!”
The police had arrived and meanwhile you and Jay gave your mother a hug.
“Wait, then why have you been sneaking off at night? For a moment, we thought you were a vampire.” Your mother just laughed at your question and gave you a slip of a paper.
“I’ve been doing night school, I just wanted it to be a surprise.” Cheers erupted from your mouths as you looked at her proudly; it was one of the calmest moments with your family in a while.
------
Alarms went off at the local state prison. Hues of red and blue glowed against the night sky while chaos emerged from the station as officers struggled to secure the site.
“Yes Chief, everyone has been accounted for. Well, except for one.” The officer on the phone stared at the open white cell door who was missing its captive.
Daniel Kim had escaped prison.

Thank you to @icequeenoriginal for reading through this for me!! I really appreciate it!
Early morning light slowly flooded the van, rudely waking Virgil up. He groaned and sat up as he fumbled around for a few moments before his hand found the lever to pop the back of the seat back up. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes before grabbing his phone and checking the time. 6:30 A.M. he sighed and glanced back at Thomas sleeping soundly in the back, their belongings shielding the sun from shining into his face. Virgil allowed a soft smile to spread across his face. He moved around a bit to make sure Thomas was secure in his seat before turning the van on with a low rubble. Virgil winced and glanced back at Thomas to check if he was still asleep and let out a sigh of relief when I saw that he still was. Virgil pulled out of the parking lot of the Walmart and drove to a nearby gas station for a single restroom.
With a reluctant heart, Virgil turned around and gently shook Thomas awake. "Thomas," he whispered softly. It's time to get up." Thomas shifted as he made a small grunt before blinking blearily. "It's time to get ready for school."
Thomas groaned and sat up, his hair sticking up at odd angles. "I don't' wanna,'" he whined slightly.
"Oh, really?" Virgil asked with an exaggerated and teasing tone. Thomas hummed in agreement and plopped back into his pillow face first. Virgil sighed dramatically. "Oh well. I guess I have to tell Talyn and Joan you don't want to be their friends anymore."
"No!" Thomas shrieked as he shot up and quickly scrambled to grab his backpack. "I'm excited for school! Let's go! Let's go! Let's go!" Virgil laughed and got out of the car. He went around and opened the side toward and Thomas hopped out. "We're going to brush your teeth and clean your face in the bathroom, okay?" Virgil asked.
"Okay."
The two walked in and went straight to the bathroom where Virgil pulled out a zip lock bag and handed it to Thomas. "Brush your teeth and go to the bathroom. Once you're done, I'll wash your face." Thomas nodded and started brushing his teeth as his brother did the same. "What time is breakfast at school?" Virgil after he spits.
"7:30," Thomas answered around a mouthful of toothpaste.
Virgil hummed and pulled out his phone, checking the time. "Okay, it's 6:50 now and we have around a fifteen-minute drive to school. So long as we're out of here by 7 we should be good." Thomas nodded and spit before rinsing his mouth out. He moved to go to the bathroom while Virgil pulled out some soft wipes and wiped his face and hair. As Thomas washed his hands, Virgil wiped his hair and brushed it before wiping his face clean. "Ready?" Virgil asked after he tossed the wipes away.
"Yup!"
"Okay." The two stepped out of the bathroom and Virgil went down an aisle to grab a box of granola and went to the counter to pay. Once done, the two walked out and hopped into the van and were on their way to school. "Make sure to save whatever you can't eat okay?" Virgil asked as they drove down the road.
Thomas nodded. "Okay, I will."
Virgil sighed. "I'm sorry you have to do this."
Thomas frowned. "What do you mean, Vee?"
"This, the sneaking around and saving leftover food from school just so you can eat a decent amount."
Thomas cocked his head curiously from where he sat in the back seat. "But, Verge, I used to do this all the time."
Virgil paused. "You did?" He asked.
Thomas nodded. "Yeah! The school has these really good things they have for breakfast and I really really like it! So I sometimes don't eat it and save it for later!"
Virgil blinked. "You're...not bothered by this?"
Thomas shook his head quickly. "Nope. It's like an adventure!"
Virgil sat in silence for a few moments. "Well...Okay…" Virgil still felt guilty for how much responsibility his younger brother was having to take upon himself. This wasn't right, Thomas was supposed to be a kid. He was supposed to have fun and cry over things not getting to have sleepovers with his friends every night. He shouldn't be worried about getting kicked out and being homeless. Virgil shook the thoughts out of his head. He could wait until later. Now wasn't the time to cry. Thomas couldn't see.
Finally, he pulled up to the school. Thomas hopped out with an "I love you! See you later!" And Virgil replied in kind with a small smile before he drove off once Thomas was safe inside the school doors.
------
As Virgil drove he allowed the thoughts to come back. They raced around his head, zipping around rapidly with a vengeance. You're a horrible brother. What have you done? You can't even keep your brother protected, you useless piece of shit. You're no better than your parents. Virgil sighed. Used to the negative words aimed at him by now, he parked his car and climbed out before jogging across the street to get in line beside a fairly small building. His stomach grumbled and he flushed red as he was sure others must be looking at him. I'm so embarrassed. He thought. It didn't even occur to him that he was in line to try and get a spot in a homeless shelter and the other people probably were used to hearing that sort of noise. Virgil felt hot pain shoot through his stomach and grimaced. Just ignore it, Virgil. It'll go away after a while.
After a few minutes, Virgil was at the front of the line.
"Name?"
"Virgil."
"Go in."
Virgil grimaced. "I can't-I have a job and uh can't you hold a spot?"
The person looked up from their clipboard. "No, I'm sorry that's against the rules."
Virgil thought about arguing but quickly got out of line and rushed to his van. His face hot and tears already spilling down his face. A weight pressed down heavily on his shoulders as he climbed into his seat and started the engine. Get yourself together you idiot. Virgil roughly wiped the tears away and began driving away. You couldn't even get your brother a decent place to sleep for the night. You're such a failure. Virgil hummed softly and pulled into the parking garage. A quick check of the time told him he had a few hours until he had to pick up Thomas and then it was back to work again. With a heavy sigh, Virgil climbed out of the van and walked inside.
-------
Roman stood as a couple walked into the well-lit meeting room. "We appreciate you seeing us this morning, Mr. and Mrs. Charleston." He shook the man's hand before sitting down.
"What is this about?" The man asked as he sat down, his wife beside him. The two looked stick and severe. Roman could swear the room had dropped a few degrees in temperature since they came in but that was probably just him being dramatic.
"We would like to buy your company."
The man seemed to stiffen, if at all possible, with anger. "My father worked his entire life building that company."
"So did ours," Remus added angrily. Roman grimaced but kept from saying anything. He didn't particularly like making these sorts of deals. It made him feel cold.
"Well, I am aware of that," Mr. Charleston replied.
Roman refrained from biting his lip. "I've been looking at your quarterly reports for the last three years. It doesn't seem like things are looking so good. I don't believe you can survive with those numbers."
"We can. We have been for years," the other replied, anger laced in his tone. "And now that we have picked up Dexter Rose, things are looking up."
Roman nodded with a fake smile. Virgil was right, he really was miserable. "Ah, yes, one of our biggest clients. You pulled them out from under us."
"In order to do so, you would have had to make heavy promises. That would put you in a very good position to sell," Logan replied from where he sat beside Roman.
"That's right Logan. You know, if I were in the same position I probably would have done the same thing."
The man narrowed his eyes. "You think I did all of these things to get you to buy my company?"
"Of course."
The man hummed. "Your father groomed you boys from birth to run his company. He managed to raise a stellar successor." Roman kept his face still as he internally eyed the other suspiciously. "I admired your father. He took a small computer company and turned it into all of this. He was a very brilliant man."
"Oh, yeah. Well, too bad you weren't man enough to say it to his face when he was alive," Remus grunted.
Roman's eyes blew wide. "Remus."
"No, all this guy ever did was torment him."
"Remus."
"You would rather climb into your own fucking grave than watch two brothers beat you at your own damn game."
The couple huffed and stood. "Good day, gentlemen," he turned and left.
"Mr. Charleston! Wait! Sir!"
Roman sighed, tension running through his body. He glanced at his brother and Logan before just walking out to go back to his office. This job was too much. Stress 24/7. He wanted a break. He wanted a new job. He didn't want this life. This was supposed to be Remus's job. This was supposed to Remus in this situation. But no, Dad had given him the job because Remus had started drinking. Roman groaned and sat with his head on his desk. I'm miserable.
------
Thomas stood next to Talyn and Joan as they all waited for their parents, or in his case, his brother. "Can I play the dragon witch tomorrow?" Talyn asked as they pulled their backpack up around their shoulders.
"Sure!" Thomas exclaimed as his brother pulled up in the van. "That's Virgil! I'll see you tomorrow! Bye Talyn! Bye Joan!"
"Bye!" The young kiddos exclaimed as Thomas climbed into the back. Virgil waved to them before pulling away.
"How was school?" Virgil asked.
"Oh! It was great! They had these cinnamon rolls for breakfast and I saved it. I think I'll taste better right before bed."
Virgil chuckled. "Oh really?" He asked as they drove through the city towards his work.
Thomas nodded from his seat. "Yeah! And I got all my homework done already!"
"That's great!" Virgil exclaimed.
"Yeah! Talyn, Joan, and I all worked on it together. Then we played Imagination at recess."
"Ooo! What happened?"
"I was the prince and Joan was the dragon witch and Talyn was the royal who got kidnapped. And I had to go help them escape! But when I got there, they were locked in the dungeon and I had to defeat the dragon witch to save them!"
Virgil laughed. "And did you?"
Thomas nodded excitedly. "Yeah! I made the dragon witch my friend. And tomorrow Talyn's gonna be the dragon witch!"
"That sounds cool!"
"It is!" Thomas agreed.
Virgil bit his lip and pulled into the McDonald's drive-thru against his better judgment. "What kinda toy do you want?" He asked Thomas.
Thomas's eyes lit up and he looked at the menu.
"Ooo! I want the prince!" He exclaimed.
Virgil looked and nodded. "Alright! One prince coming up!" Virgil ordered and soon Thomas was munching happily on chicken nuggets while Virgil fought to open up the plastic wrapping around the prince.
"Hey!" Thomas exclaimed.
Virgil froze. "What? What's wrong?"
"Aren't you gonna eat?" Thomas asked worriedly.
Virgil bit his lip. "Oh no. I ate a little before I picked you up. I'm not hungry right now."
Thomas frowned. "But you'll eat later, right?"
Virgil handed Thomas the unwrapped prince toy with a silent sigh. "Of course," he lied. Thomas tried to see past the lie. "Now, I have to get back to work soon, and you'll be staying in the cleaning closet again, are you okay with that?" Thomas nodded. "And you remember to stay put right?" Another nod. Virgil smiled sadly. "That's a good kiddo."
---------
Roman was once again stuck in his office late. This was becoming the normal though so at least he had brought himself a thermos of soup this time. He moved the papers he had been staring at for hours off to the corner of his desk before pulling out the thermos and spoon he had kept in his desk drawer. With a sad and lonely sigh, he unscrewed the thermos and set it down. He grabbed his spoon and began eating slowly.
The silence of the office slowly began to drive him crazy as he sat there. Eventually, he grew irritated and bored and set his thermos down only to accidentally knock it over when he moved to grab the lid. "Shit!" He exclaimed and pulled the thermos upright and quickly screwed the lid on as he assessed the damage. It wasn't that bad but there was broth nearly all over his desk. Roman groaned and stood up and walked out of his office in search of some paper towels. Down a hallway and to the right he would a storage room and quickly opened the door and picked up a roll of paper towels. He turned to go only to pick up on faint music. He turned around and nearly screamed.
Laying in between two shelves on a pile of blankets laid a small child, their face lit up softly by the light from a laptop. Roman frowned. Upon closer inspection, he suddenly noticed it was Thomas. "Thomas!?!?!" He exclaimed.
The poor kid shot up, fear pounding through his heart as he realized he had been caught. What was going to happen now?!?! Was Virgil going to get into trouble?!?! Was he going to be sent back to that house?!? Were those people going to take him!?!? "Please don't hurt me!" Thomas cried out hysterically.
Roman's eyes widened and he quickly kneeled down to appear less threatening. "Hey," he called softly. "Hey, Thomas, it's just me. It's Prince Roman. I'm here to protect you."
Thomas slowly registered the figure in front of him and then proceeded to fling himself into the other's arms. "Don't let them take me!" Thomas cried out. "Please don't let them take us!" He sobbed as he clung to Roman's torso. Roman frowned and picked up Thomas's things and secured his arms around the young boy.
"Everything is going to be okay," Roman soothed as he carried the sobbing child to his office and laid him down on the couch. "Here," he whispered softly. "Stay right here and I'll go get your brother, okay?"
"Don't let them hurt him!" Thomas cried out as tears poured down his face.
Roman bit his lip. "I won't I promise. You'll be safe in here and once I get your brother, he'll be safe in here too." Roman quickly left his office, not entirely sure he should leave Thomas alone but 100% sure that he needed to find Virgil. However, Virgil must have looked into the storage closet and noticed Thomas was gone because he suddenly ran into Roman. "Woah, slow down-"
"No, please-" Virgil cried, as tears spilled from his eyes.
"He's with me. In my office okay. Come on."
"What?" Virgil exclaimed even as he followed Roman into the big corner office where the sounds of Thomas's sobs bounced off the walls. "Thomas!" Virgil exclaimed as he slid to his side and quickly pulled him into a tight hug.
"Verge!" Thomas sobbed. "I thought they had taken you! I-"
"Shhh," Virgil shushed softly as he cradled his brother and rocked them back and forth. "It's okay. Everything's fine. They're not here. You're okay. I'm okay."
Roman stayed quiet as he stood by awkwardly. Once Thomas had calmed down and seemed to be sleeping, he finally spoke what was on his mind. "Why was Thomas in the closet?" Roman wasn't prepared for the look Virgil gave him as the other shot his head up to glare at him. Roman grimaced. "Look, I'm sorry. But I need to know, you can't just leave your brother in a closet in a building he doesn't know."
Virgil huffed. "Oh really? And what do you know?"
Roman glanced to the side uneasily. "Virgil," he started. "Come on."
"No!" Virgil whispered harshly as he stood with Thomas tucked against his chest. "I don't-I-" Virgil huffed, frustrated. "I don't owe you an explanation." He walked to the door with an angry huff only to pause as those dangerous words spilled from Roman's mouth.
"I could call Child Welfare."
"Call child welfare and send a kid back to his abusive parents?" Virgil questioned coldly. It felt like a slap to Roman's face. "Yeah, good fucking job on that one." He turned and left. But Roman heard one last sentence from Virgil. "I just don't want to lose my brother."
Roman stood frozen. The last bit sounding soft, vulnerable. He felt like he had been shot. Stabbed? He wasn't sure. All he knew was it hurt. Was it guilt? Was it heartbreak? Roman bit his lip, unsure of what to do now. He was torn, while a child shouldn't be in a closet and it raised his suspicions, he supposed it was the only option Virgil may have had. If their parents were truly as terrible as Virgil hinted at, and Child Welfare wasn't aware, then they would surely just send them right back unless they had reason to believe Virgil. And who knows what their parents did. They could have claimed Virgil was a drug addict, made it seem like he was high and stole his brother. Play the pity card.
Roman's heart twisted painfully. If he hadn't said that, maybe he could have talked to Virgil and gotten more information. Earned his trust so he could help him. But he had to go and screw it up. Roman let himself fall back onto the couch and slump down into a sad ball. This was a delicate situation. Very delicate. He didn't know the whole story, and judging the way Thomas was crying, there was a "them" he was scared of and who had hurt Virgil. And judging by how close the two were, it wouldn't be wise to somehow separate them. Roman tried to imagine being separated from his brother in such a way and despite a few negative feelings he had towards his brother, he knew he would be devastated. Roman sighed. "Yes. A delicate situation indeed."
-------
Virgil sat in the front seat of his van. Behind him, Thomas slept peacefully in the third-row seat as the night slowly passed. I shouldn't have said that. Virgil thought as he bit his thumbnail. And really, he probably shouldn't have. He didn't actually know Roman. All he did was have a few interactions with him. How could he just speak like that? Oh, chuck! Virgil felt his breathing sped up as a startling and damning thought hit him. I'm gonna get fired! Not only had Virgil freaked out on a total stranger. He had freaked out of his boss. His boss of all people! Good going, Virgil. Virgil put his head in his hands and slumped over a bit as he tried to regain his breathing.
"It's okay," he whispered softly to himself. "You'll just get a new job. And he hasn't fired you yet so…" Virgil tried his best to calm down. The last thing he wanted to do was to wake up Thomas. "Okay, you got this Virgil. Maybe he won't even remember. You're forgettable like that. Especially to those kinds of people. Everything will be fine."
Slowly, his breathing returned to normal. "Oh who am I kidding," he muttered. "He's not gonna forget." Virgil huffed. "I'll just have to hope, I guess." A dejected sigh. "I'll just lie low for a few days. Clean and such.." Virgil bit his lip. "Maybe Thomas can stay with Joan or Talyn for a few days?" He hummed. Tomorrow was Friday. So he could spend the whole weekend with his friends. Then, of course, he'd pick him back up on Sunday. Or even Monday after school. He hummed again. He'd have to ask Thomas about it tomorrow.

Sometime between a week and year ago (time blindness anyone?) someone tagged me in a thing asking me to list first ten songs that played on my favorite playlist on random. And tag ten other people.
Problem one: I don't remember who tagged me.
Problem two: I never ever participate in anything where I have to pass it on, except when I do, but I won't pass it on, sorry.
Problem three: what do you mean "favorite playlist?" I literally have more than two dozen. They're all very genre/mood specific and not indicative at all of my general taste in music. Also, I've been listening to like music from the 1940's for the past 3 months.
I'm weirdly and elitist-ly proud of my taste in music, so I thought about giving the first Ten from like my top ten playlists? Too much work.
Then tonight I remembered my playlist called "A Hard Day's Pete," named after the episode of The Adventures of Pete and Pete where little Pete starts a radio station that plays everyone's favorite song, while searching for his own. It's basically just any song I really like that doesn't fit on any of my playlists, *or* that I like so much that it's one of my favorites. It's a fairly decent representation of what I like, I guess, without being all 90's hip-hop or all 70's UK punk, or all 1940's big band/swing, or all New Wave, or all Zydeco and Reggae or all Nordic Folk Rock or whatever niche playlist I'm into at the moment.
So whoever it was that tagged me, this is for you, the first ten songs that played when I hit random on "A Hard Day's Pete:"
David Byrne - I Wanna Dance With Somebody
Le Tigre - Decepticon
The All Seeing I - Walk Like a Panther
Dee-lite - Groove Is In The Heart
Scissor Sisters - I Don't Feel Like Dancing
X-Press 2 - Lazy (feat. David Byrne)
Beth Ditto - Fire
The Nude Party - Chevrolet Van
Puscifer - Sour Grapes
William Shatner - Common People
I do find it amusing that from a playlist that's 12 hours long, the first 10 included two cover songs, and two with David Byrne (David Byrne is a musical genius though and I'll listen to anything he creates at least once, cause odds are, it's great).
Anyway, I hope this was interesting for someone 🤷‍♀️

Septuple Solo Para: Well, Gang...
“Sammy, I mean it, I don’t care that we’re in Auradon. There’s no way in hell you’re gonna convince me a place is really haunted,” Sylvia is saying as Nancy walks over to sit with them at lunch.
“Look, I’m just sharing the rumor. Oh, hang on-- Heather!! Over here!!” Sammy waves to her new friend, gesturing to the seat she’d saved, smiling at her sister as well. “Hey, Nance. I was just telling Sylvia about the thing I texted you about.”
“The haunted, condemned house?” Nancy asks, because Sammy texts her about literally everything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Like, the what?” Heather asks as she sits down with Sammy, before remembering her manners. “Oh, right, like, I’m Heather, so totally nice to meet you. What’s up with the haunted house?”
“Nancy, Sam’s older sister, and that’s Sylvia. Sylvia and I are part-time amateur detectives, so when thinks get wonky, they usually get swung our way.” Nancy nods a bit with a half-hearted wave with a soda in her hand, before taking a swig.
“She’s also leaving out that neither of us believe in ghosts,” Sylvia adds on.
A tall boy walking by catches himself and staggers backwards at that comment. “Sorry, couldn’t help but overhear. You don’t believe in ghosts?”
“Uh, no, I really don’t,” Sylvia shrugs. “It’s always someone faking terrifying stuff just to keep nosy people away or to get insurance money for something. At the end of the day, Nancy and I unmask the bad guys and they go to jail.”
“Well, that’s not very fun. Mind if I pull up a seat?” He’s asking, but he swings his legs around a seat anyways with the girls. “I’m Grayson Fenton. 1/4 ghost myself.”
Nancy chokes on her soda, coughing for a moment. “I’m sorry, what?”
“Yeah, it’s a bit of a story, but the long story short is that an accident in my ghost-obsessed grandparents’ lab half-killed my dad. He and I can both transform between a solid form and...”
Grayson suddenly turns into a shadowy figure of himself, reaching out and passing his arm through the table before switching back and bringing his arm back up to rest on the table. “...well, my dad’s ghost form looks more humanoid than mine does, but you get the picture. Our job is to keep ghosts from wreaking havoc on the mortal world by making sure they stay confined to the ghost zone.”
Sylvia is sitting there, open-mouthed and looking completely and utterly horrified. Finally, finally, she chokes out a simple, “What?”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Grayson shrugs as Lily sits down across from Sammy, reading the looks on the other four girls’ faces. “What happened?”
“He’s a ghost,” Sammy points to Grayson.
Lily pauses and shrugs. “That’s Auradon for you, I guess.”
“One-quarter,” Grayson corrects. “And my job is to catch actual ghosts. Our gear for that is more than a little... unconventional. Like, check this out.” He pulls his Fenton Thermos out of his backpack. “This actually is meant to pull in ghosts and trap them for later release in the ghost zone. I’m... obviously not in the position to demonstrate it, as the only nearby even slightly ghostly entity.”
“That’s ingenious inventing,” says a boy looking over Grayson’s shoulder, forgetting that boundaries are a thing.
Grayson jumps. “Whoa! Do you mind?”
“Huh? Oh, sorry, my bad. Oliver Robinson,” is the response, extending his hand to Grayson.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“...Grayson Fenton,” he finally meets, shaking the other’s hand, glancing at the girls, who all shrug simultaneously.
Nancy nods to the last open seat at their table. “You’re welcome to join us, Oliver. We just go severely off topic. We were on the haunted house.”
Oliver raises an eyebrow as he sits down. “We were on the what now?”
“I’m with him, but you have my interest,” Lily offers, sitting up a bit.
“Oh, there’s this rumor about some super haunted building on the outskirts of the city, guess the building got condemned but they weren’t able to tear it down because something kept stopping them whenever they tried. The theory goes it was the house’s original builder and owner,” Sammy explains.
“Okay, no, yeah, I am definitely in camp ‘random homeless man living in a condemned space and trying to keep people from tearing down his home’,” Sylvia instantly says, before munching on a carrot stick.
“That’s just it, they can’t find any evidence at all that there’s anyone in the house,” Sammy says. “I just thought it was cool.”
Nancy shrugs a bit. “I mean, I haven’t had a good mystery in a while. Or adventure as a whole.”
“Told you should’ve come to Annapolis,” Sylvia grumbles under her breath.
“Like, what happened in Annapolis?” Heather looks at Sylvia innocently.
Sylvia chokes on her carrot stick, holding up a hand and coughing and sputtering for a minute. “Absolutely nothing major, but it was a change of scenery.”
Nancy rolls her eyes. “What I’m trying to say is...”
...and that’s how, hours later, seven kids pile out of the van Sylvia had driven them over in, walking up the overgrown path as the sun sets behind them to an empty house.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Okay, just because I brought it up doesn’t mean I wanted to tag along,” Sammy is grumbling a bit as Nancy passes out flashlights to the rest of them.
Heather nods. “Like, could we have at least come out here during the day?”
“Well, last I checked, we’re all going to school, so, not really, no,” Nancy points out. “C’mon, where’s your sense of adventure?”
“Nonexistent,” Sammy points out, still grumbling as her sister pushes the flashlight into her hands.
“C’mon, it’ll be quick,” Grayson shrugs. “I have a ghost sense. I get a specific chill when there’s a ghost nearby. You’ll even be able to see my breath. Then after this I think we can pester Sylvia enough to stop for ice cream.”
Sylvia rolls her eyes, clicking her flashlight on and pushing on the front door, shining her light in as it creaks open, not locked. “Ooh, that’s a sign. I don’t like that.”
Tumblr media
Though it does lean more towards her theory that someone’s been coming and going. She presses on in and the others follow after her, with Heather taking up the rear of the group and taking a moment as the others fan out inside to look back over her shoulder and around outside to make sure there’s no threats out there before she follows them in.
Lily holds up a stick she’d grabbed from outside on her way up to the porch, using it to gather up some cobwebs and pull them out of the way. “This place does look pretty empty, I have to say.”
“Huh, that’s odd,” Nancy’s saying from another corner, poking her head around the corner of a doorway and then looking back in.
“What’s odd?” Sammy jumps at every little creak and casts a panicked look to her sister.
“The proportions of the rooms here. Almost like...”
Oliver walks over, knocking against the wall Nancy’s staring at and getting back a hollow thunk. “Oh, definitely a hidden passageway. Welcome to Auradon, older builds are bound to have them.”
“Yeah, but that’s like, castles and stuff, isn’t it?” Heather looks curious.
“Well, there’s gotta be a way to open it from here,” Sylvia takes charge. “Fan out, start pulling on things, especially things that would normally look like solid fixtures on the wall.”
Grayson pauses, then swaps to his ghost form and walks through the wall. After a second, the wall slides open slowly, and Grayson shines his flashlight out at them, his hand pressed against a button on the wall. “...found the trigger.”
Tumblr media
Nancy laughs. “Score! All the rewards, half the effort. I like you. Let’s go.”
Sylvia grumbles under her breath. Sammy shines her flashlight in and squeals. “Ew!!! Ew, ew, ew, I am absolutely not going in there!”
Nancy sighs. “Fine, then we’ll split up. I’ll take Grayson and Lily and we’ll see where the tunnel leads. The rest of you can search the rest of the house. Sound good?”
The others nod, and Sylvia immediately starts to the stairs as Nancy presses onward. Heather sighs and sets a hand on Sammy’s shoulder. “I totally get it, don’t worry. Thank you for saying something, I didn’t wanna look like a wuss in front of a bunch of people who don’t know me.”
Sammy shrugs and heads towards a door on her right, underneath the stairs. Heather follows after her as Oliver heads up after Sylvia.
Sylvia had found an old bedroom and was just about to walk out when her foot nudges a floorboard, popping it right off. Glancing down, she blinks at the sigh of a box inside, kneeling down and picking it up, opening it up and gasping in shock. “Jinkies!”
“What?” Oliver walks over, peering over her shoulder at the box and letting out a low whistle. “Woooooow.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“So, what do you think is going to be at the end of this?” Grayson asks, from the back of the pack.
“Could just be an emergency exit from the house,” Lily says in the middle, shining her light along the walls.
“I doubt that, though,” Nancy says, hanging a right with the tunnel and coming to a set of stairs leading down. “Oh, I definitely doubt it now.”
Carefully, she presses her foot on the first step, testing her weight against it and then stepping down. “They seem safe.”
“That’s reassuring,” Lily remarks dryly, but follows behind her nonetheless.
At the bottom of the stairs, they come upon a locked door. Nancy glances to Grayson, who passes through the door but then comes right back. “Nope. That’s actually a really, really complicated looking lock on the other side. More like a puzzle than a lock.”
Nancy nods and gets into her bag, producing her lockpicking tools. “Then this calls for plan B.”
“So, how often do you do this stuff?” Lily asks as she keeps her light balanced on the lock when Nancy kneels to break in the old fashioned way.
“I’ve been on cases since I was a little kid. It’s fairly regular work, I guess. You’re the mechanic, right?”
“Aye, that’s me,” Lily notes with pride, smiling a bit. “Your sister speaks highly of you, y’know.”
“She talks about you a lot, too,” Nancy remarks, pausing when she hears a click. “There we go.”
Pushing the door open, she gasps. “Oh, my, god.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sammy sighs as she runs her fingers over the desk in the study she and Heather had found. “I know the place is condemned and stuff, but if Sylvia and Nance are right and the problem is just a squatter, you’d think they’d do a little better job cleaning up the place. This is just gross.”
“Hey, like, take a look at this,” Heather responds, turning around with a paper in her hands that she’d picked up from an end table beside an armchair. “These are, like, financial records. And they’re, like, recent, too. The name’s torn off.”
“What? Let me see,” Sammy walks over, taking the paper from her friend and reading over them by the light of her flashlight. “Yikes. Whoever these belong to, they’re not doing so well. Wonder how these got here.”
Both girls share a look when they hear some floorboards creak behind them. A hand on her shoulder causes Heather to whip around and deck the strange man who’d grabbed her, and Sammy screams.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sylvia and Oliver’s heads shoot up at the scream downstairs, and Sylvia frantically shoves the box they’d found into her bag as they tear back downstairs to find the girls, discovering Heather holding down a guy who’s grumbling beneath her heel.
“Who the hell are you?!” Sylvia snaps, now very suspicious given what she and Oliver found upstairs. He glares at them and doesn’t answer. Sylvia rolls her eyes. “I’m gonna see if I can get reception outside.”
“No need,” Oliver says, holding up a finger.
“Do you have cell service in here?” Sylvia raises an eyebrow.
“No, but I’m a Robinson. I don’t need cell service.” They come back with a small metal sphere from their pocket, hitting some buttons on the screen part and causing it to let out a soft, steady beep. “My dad’ll pick up on that and call the police and give them our location. We should check on the others, though. We can’t be sure this guy’s alone.”
“I’ve got him contained,” Heather says, pressing her heel into his back further to drive the point home. “Go.”
Sylvia and Oliver nod, and Oliver hands the small ball to Sammy before he and Sylvia head back to the secret passageway.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nancy stares in shock at the bodies before them. Probably other people like the kids, nosy about the alleged haunting, who got too close to something. Though she’s not sure how to judge what would be considered “too close”. Grayson stays back in the doorway to make sure no one can sneak up on them from the tunnel or shut them in, but she and Lily press onward into the room. “I...”
“Nancy, I’m not the detective, but I don’t think that all of these bodies have come from just the past few months since the building was condemned,” Lily murmurs.
Nancy looks over to where Lily’s pointing her flashlight, at the skeletized remains beyond the first three they’d seen upon walking in. “I think you’re right.”
“We need to get out of here,” Lily says. “Before we’re next.”
“I concur with that one,” Grayson says from the door, but then looks up. “Someone’s coming.”
The girls look up and rush to join him at the doorway, relaxing when they see the two people who descend the stairs. Sylvia sighs. “Hey, there you guys are. Everyone okay?”
“We are. What happened up there?”
“Some guy tried to attack Heather and Sammy. Not sure exactly what happened, but Heather had him ground with a foot against his back. We came down here to get you. What’s in there?” Sylvia stretches up on her toes to peer over.
“We need to get back up there. NOW.” Nancy says, shoving through the group and taking the stairs two at a time back up the tunnel.
Oliver’s about to ask questions when he sees the bodies at the same moment as Sylvia, the two taking off after Nancy with Lily on their heels. Grayson glances back one last time before going ghost and shooting straight back up into the main house and then follows the sounds of a scuffle to find Sammy and Heather, Heather grappling with the girls’ would-be assailant.
As the others skid in, Sylvia draws her taser, trying to get a good lock on the guy. Heather seems to notice this and flips them into a position that only seems unfavorable to her for a moment. Sylvia nods and fires, locking the guy up and givine Heather a shot to properly restrain him.
Sammy still looks entirely stressed out. “This is why I hate the mystery business.”
“Okay, what is going on around here?” Oliver asks, not noticing Nancy over at the desk.
“That’s an excellent question, kid,” comes a voice, and the seven look over at the new person in the door. He holds up a badge. “Auradon PD. We got a call from one Wilbur Robinson regarding his son and some kind of emergency beacon?”
“That’d be me,” Oliver holds up his hand, reaching out and reclaiming the beacon from Sammy to deactivate it. “Oliver Robinson. I alerted my dad to our location when we caught this guy after he tried to attack Heather and Sammy.”
Tumblr media
Sylvia looks up from where she’s been reading over Nancy’s shoulder. “Officer, I think I’ve just about got it all figured out.”
He and the others turn their lights to her. Nancy holds up the journal she’d been reading from. “This was left here by the original homeowner. He was a private man, and he had every reason to be. He was a cat burglar. Most of the money and jewels he stole were sunk into building his private residence, with a room to hide some of his bigger pieces hidden from any prying eyes. He even writes he plans to allow himself to die in there to throw off anyone daring hunt for his treasures. That’s the skeleton Lily and I found in the basement.”
Tumblr media
“But he didn’t hide the most precious pieces with them,” Sylvia picks up. “Those were kept separate, somewhere he chose not to write down. I’m talking a minor fortune for any kingdom or any individual in jewels. He wrote of them, but not where they were hidden. Our new friend here was sabotaging the efforts of the city to tear down this house for fear the jewels would be lost forever, or unearthed by city workers and given to the museum. What I can’t figure out is why--”
Tumblr media
“The financial slip!” Sammy exclaims, picking up that paper from where she’d dropped it. “Heather and I found this before the guy snuck up on us. The name’s missing, but whoever it belongs to is in financial ruins. Finding any of the original owner’s treasure would bail him out from a debt he could never ever escape otherwise.”
Tumblr media
The officer looks impressed. “You kids are pretty good at this thing. But, I do have one last question. Where’s the missing jewelry?”
“I found it,” Sylvia says, reaching into her bag and pulling out the box she and Oliver had found upstairs. “I knocked into a loose floorboard in one of the bedrooms upstairs and this was under it.”
She opens it up, revealing the jewelry inside it to the group under the light of a collection of flashlights. Sylvia adds, “Like I said, minor fortune. Enough to buy your way out of debt, or... disappear and never be seen again.”
“Well, now, that’s impressive,” he says, in shock, but not really moving for anything else, staring at the box in Sylvia’s hands.
Nancy notices, instantly getting a bad feeling. “Officer, where’s your backup?”
The instant Nancy asks that question, he scowls, and that’s all Sylvia needs. She slams the box shut and tosses it to Grayson, who grips it tightly and focuses, turning both it and himself into a ghost and shooting outside the house with it towards the van.
Heather yelps as the guy breaks loose from her at last and ducks his swing, scowling. “I’ve just about had it with this.”
“I hate detective work!” Sammy yells as Lily brushes in front of her, trying to get them both out the door.
Sylvia scowls when the fake officer bears down on her. “Oh, hell no, I did not just survive Annapolis for a dirty cop and a wannabe crook to beat me.” She kicks him right between the legs and then shoves him over as Heather knocks aside the crook, and the rest of the group flees out the front door to the van.
Lily slides into the driver’s seat without even debating it, barely giving them time to all get in before she’s backing out, and Oliver slams the door shut behind him as they get into the road and screech off towards the police station.
As they get away from the house, Sylvia gets into a call in the backseat to get on with the station properly, saying something quieter at first and then speaking up rapidly as she looks behind them and sees the police car coming in hot after them, flying through a rushed explanation of the situation at hand.
Heather suddenly pulls out a star-shaped bottle of perfume, and Nancy notices. “IS NOW THE TIME FOR A PICK-ME-UP TO YOUR BEAUTY ROUTINE?!”
“Not at all,” Heather answers, reaching back and opening the back door and aiming outwards at the way-too-close cop car, spraying at it. The liquid that comes out immediately freezes the car, including the tires, and the two occupants are thrust forward at their windshield in the abrupt stop. Heather reaches out and slams the van door back shut, taking a deep breath. “I knew that one would come in handy.”
She looks back at her fellow passengers, who are no longer staring, and there are 5 and a half (Lily mainly keeps her eyes on the road) pairs of eyes on her. “I’ll tell the story once this is over with.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Lily pulls them up to the station, Grayson hands the jewelry box back to Sylvia and the gang heads inside, meeting up with officers who were appraised of the situation and giving them the rundown on everything they had uncovered and discovered at the house. It takes a while to get everyone’s individual statements, but soon, the kids are let go... after getting to see their two would-be attackers brought into the station in cuffs, anyways.
Back in the van, Sylvia reclaims the keys to drive them back to the school, but everyone else is looking at Heather, who sighs.
“Okay. So, like... I’m a spy. I work for an agency called the World Organization of Human Protection, or WOOHP for short. Our mission is to keep the world safe from crazy supervillains with convoluted evil world domination plans, and we also work in security details for world leaders. WOOHP is trying to establish ties here in Auradon, and one of the ways they did that was by sending an agent undercover into the country to help keep everyone at home appraised of things that are happening here so we can offer aid in the biggest situations. What you saw in action back there was the Ice Queen Perfume, which is just liquid nitrogen in a bottle, essentially, that instantly freezes whatever it comes into contact with when sprayed. All my gadgets are made to look like typical teenage girl stuff so that, like, if someone found my spy stuff, they wouldn’t know what they found.”
Sylvia casts a glance at Heather in the mirror. WOOHP. She’d run into them in Annapolis, too, and they’d tried recruiting her before. But she wasn’t interested in that.
Though she wonders if Heather might have been the agent they met in Annapolis. Just briefly. Then, she pulls the van into a parking spot at the school, killing the engine and... sitting there.
They all do, for a minute. Nobody moves to get out, and nobody says anything for a long minute.
Then, Nancy clears her throat. “We made a great team back there.”
“Yeah,” Grayson says. “I mean... it was actually kinda...”
“Fun,” Oliver finishes the thought, and the others all nod in agreement.
Sammy bites her lip, then closes her eyes and clears her throat. “I’m gonna hate saying this, but... let’s do this again, guys. I hate the mystery business, but that was... fun.”
“I’m in if you’re in,” Heather says instantly.
Lily nods. “Aye. Count me in, too.”
“I’m down,” Nancy says, as Oliver and Sylvia both nod in agreement as well. All heads turn to Grayson, who sighs, and sticks his hand out into the center of the group.
“Let’s do this.”
The others pile their hands in on top of his quickly. Sammy pauses. “Okay, but guys, we need a name.”
“Can’t be Mystery Inc.,” Sylvia jokes. “That’s kinda taken.”
“Mystery Gang?” Oliver volunteers.
Nancy wrinkles her nose. “Nah, too similar to our parents. The Clue Gang?”
“No, no, wait,” Heather says. “Like, what about... The Clue Crew?”
The others look at each other at that and nod. Sylvia laughs. “On three. One... two...”
On three, they all break with a dorky exclamation of, “The Clew Crew!”

☎️ ♈️♉️☑️ And the 3 important people one cuz a bitch ain’t got time to find that one lmao 💛💛 for elide, bonnie, and manon
thanks ari :3c // headcanon meme
☎ :  my muse’s ringtone
Elide — Juicy by Doja Cat.
Bonnie — Good Girl by Carrie Underwood.
Manon — God is a woman by Ariana Grande.
♈:  the most daring thing your muse has ever done
I may be forgetting an obvious moment, but off the top of my head for Elide,, I would have to say a sequence of actions in Falmont. (Falmont is a city of vampires in the Northern region of Orothell in the world of Andaria, AKA the Lansing Campaign setting.) The city was being marched on by members of the Clandestine Providence cult and they had already set it alight as part of their siege of the castle, fires were burning all throughout and vampires were being dragged from their homes and killed in the streets. The party, along with a handful of NPC allies, were watching the chaos from the castle above, standing on a skywalk between two parts of the building. The rest of the party seemed to be frozen in place, but Elide couldn't stand there and do nothing. So she hopped onto the silver dragon companion they had with them (a whole other story) and directed her through the city. Elide utilized the dragon's cold breath to put out fires and block paths that the cult soldiers were using to advance in an attempt to buy time for escapes and coming up with a plan, and took the risk of diving down into the streets to rescue a vampire from being killed.
Bonnie hasn't really,,, done much. She was sheltered for the better part of two and a half decades, and somewhat remains the same in False Cross even amongst the outlaws and whatnot. Perhaps it was when she finally bit the bullet and defended Morgan when her father was on another rant about how he was an outlaw and he'd only ruin her life, when she finally had enough and made the on-the-spot decision to leave home right then and be with Morgan instead. It's not an act of heroics or divine bravery, but it was the first time she saw what she wanted and took it despite her parents' wishes and forbiddance.
Alright well, I don't have a lot for Manon yet and the campaign hasn't begun so there isn't much to go off of, sooo… She made a pretty daring fashion choice once, I suppose. Tiddies nearly out, heels just high enough to concern the passersby, wearing the colors of a noblewoman who boldly demanded nobody wear them just because she could. One day I'll have an actual answer for a question like this, but alas.
♉:  is my muse prone to jealousy?
Mm… Elide is not so much jealous as she is territorial, really. She doesn't think anything will happen between a partner and some random person flirting with them, but there's always that instinct to press herself to their side and make it Very Apparent who she is.
Bonnie? Jealous? Not at all. Frankly, she finds the idea of jealousy a bit odd. Why feel such a way, aren't you confident in your partnership and happy?? The only time Bonnie gets jealous is when someone has a candle or blanket that she wants tbh.
(Manon voice) No reason to be jealous when a partner clearly already has the best ;) ..... Yeah, a little. Underneath the confidence she boasts, she has lots of insecurities that easily play into her getting jealous.
☑:  something my muse has accomplished that they’re proud of
There are,,, So many options to choose from here, but it didn't say the thing Elide's proudest of, so—it's not a grand feat or anything, but she's proud of managing to meet face-to-face with her uncle Ulrich without making any attempt to attack him. He has hurt the people she loves (and countless others) so deeply and has been smug about it on multiple occasions, it took an immense amount of willpower to keep herself in check in his presence.
Bonnie had a baby! Such a cheap, Mom answer to give but if she's proud of anything, she's proud that she had the strength to go through the entire pregnancy process and make it through the birth.
Given that Manon was never overly interested in becoming an adventurer and was content sticking to the noble's life, she's fairly proud of how quickly she was able to train in the ways of a rogue. She was never one for weapons, and she still is only truly comfortable with daggers, but she somehow managed to get there in the end.
웃:  three people that are important to my muse
Elide — Tyrus Rhogar: her boyfriend and fighter mentor, Elide is convinced they were destined to come together and believes she would go a bit mad if she lost him. Mikael Harker: her father, the softest man she has ever known and would do anything to protect from the world she has stepped into. Rowan Caerdonel: her ex, a young love that went wrong but will always hold a special place in her heart; after rescuing him from the clutches of the Providence, she wants nothing more than to make sure he stays safe.
Bonnie — Morgan Clark: her [now] husband, the outlaw she recklessly fell head over heels and abandoned her old life for. Holland van Daal: "mayor" of False Cross and essential King of all outlaws, someone who she was initially terrified of but has grown to admire and trust. Not to mom it up again but Jasper Clark, her and Morgan's son is the obvious final answer here because she would do anything for him. (Even kill, though the idea makes her a bit ill and panicked.)
Manon — Garrett Westbrooke: a man who saved her from an attack in the city streets and quickly became one of her dear friends; one of her party members and someone she very much enjoys flirting with to fluster. Aldric Weaver: the eldest of the Weaver siblings, Manon has always been close with her brother even with him being gone from home so often for adventuring and hopes to have his bravery one day. I'm not sure who else to go with here given the lack of development and whatnot, but she likely has some noble pal that she's known since childhood.

An assortment of little-known Marvel characters that I like! Info on them under the cut:
Aqueduct - Peter Van Zante was a soldier in Vietnam who gained his aquakinetic abilities from an experimental medical procedure that saved his life. He originally called himself The Water Wizard and tried to use his powers for simple robbery, but was stopped by the Ghost Rider, who traumatized him so badly that he spent time afterwards in a mental institution. However, he did not change his villainous ways, and later joined Force of Nature, a quartet of supervillains who each had an elemental power and worked as the muscle for a group of eco-terrorists. He renamed himself Aqueduct with them, and has gone by it since. Aqueduct is not a bright man, that’s probably fortunate, as his water powers could be far more lethal if he had more ideas on how to use them effectively. He’s also moody, being very down on himself when he fails, and euphorically egomaniacal the second he starts to win. Overall though, he seems happier since he quit his solo act and joined a team! Asp - A longtime member of The Serpent Society and later the B.A.D. Girls, The Asp hails from Egypt, and is a mutant with the ability to fire what she calls “venom bolts”–  a unique form of radiant bioelectricity that she can channel as lightning-like blasts  that causes a rapid paralysis of the nervous system similar to the effect of the neurotoxic bite of certain venomous snakes. Asp’s real name is allegedly Cleopatra “Cleo” Nefertiti, but given that she is also an exotic dancer in addition to a mercenary, it is likely this is a stage name. Though she is often a villain, Asp is still articulate, polite, intelligent, proud of her dancing, and a loyal friend. Black Mamba - Another member of the Serpent Society, as well as a B.A.D Girl alongside her best buddy Asp, Black Mamba aka Tanya Sealy (who has also used the alias of “Tanya Sweet”) gained her succubus-like Darkforce powers when the Roxxon company augmented her into a superhuman. This granted her the ability to summon “love phantoms”, living shadows that appear as the person that the target loves and desires most, and drain their victim’s life as they embrace them in coitus. Tanya was also given the ability to breathe and otherwise function deep underwater, as Roxxon needed her for an undersea mission, though she’s had little occasion to use this since. Tanya has also worked as a fashion model and professional escort in addition to her supervillainy/mercenary jobs, and was even a superhero in the Women Warriors for a time alongside Asp and Skein. Tanya is a loyal friend like Asp, and considers herself an expert on sex and romance, as well as a great lover of men…and of money! Skein - Sybil Dvorak is a Romanian mutant with the fairly common ability of telekinesis, but due to the fact she can “feel” whatever her telekinesis is manipulating, she refuses to use her powers on anything except soft objects like fur, feather, and fabric. She originally called herself the unfortunate moniker of Gypsy Moth, using fabric wings to lift herself in the air, and attacked high class parties to frighten the rich for fun due her belief that her wealthy actor boyfriend was cheating on her. After his mysterious death left her with his house and money, she nonetheless continued her criminal activities. However, she joined the “good guys” for a short time (and shallow reasons) in the 90s, taking the new codename of Skein, making a new and very revealing costume, and showing a new hyper-sexual, flirtatious, thrill-seeking personality, in contrast to the cold, formal persona she had as Moth. Impala - She’s a mysterious woman from Zambia who is known only by her codename. She has no known superpowers, but is extremely athletic, agile, and skilled in African stick-fighting. Impala is said to be wanted for crimes in her homeland, but she seems to be more simply a thrill-seeking adventurer rather than any sort of villain. For instance, she once joined a fight she had no reason to be in, simply to even the odds, and she aided Asp and Black Mamba simply for the fun of it (making Impala an honorary/temporary BAD Girl too) In addition to loving danger, Impala also seems quite proud of her body, given her revealing costume and the way she taunts other women (such as calling the not-even-overweight Battleaxe “obese one”) who are not as lithe and lean as she is. Dragonfly - Nothing is known about the life of Veronica Dultry before the Maggia altered her for Count Nefaria into one of his Ani-Men to do battle with the X-Men. It is also unknown if her transformation is willing or not. We do later learn that she has an estranged sister, Margaret, who is a famous actress, who tries to take advantage of Veronica when she mutates further into a giant dragonfly-like monster due to absorbing radiation. This transformation is, thankfully, reversed, though Dragonfly has yet to change her villainous ways—or show any actual personality on-panel. Besides her ability to fly with her insect-like wings, Dragonfly can also hypnotize others with a psychic signal that emits from her antennae. Meggan Puceanu - Meggan Puceanu is a British Romanichal mutant with an array of powers, namely control of nature and the four elements, a powerful link to mystical and magical energies, and being an “empathic metamorph” who changes her shape to reflect the feelings and desires of people around her. This last one caused her to be severely physically mutated as a child, and, not knowing she could willfully change her shape, she grew up kept in her family’s camper with only the television for company. As an adult, she took on a beautiful blonde form and join the British superhero team Excalibur, becoming Captain Britain’s girlfriend. Meggan was naive and insecure, and became very dependent on Captain Britain, who often did not treat her well. However, they have both grown considerably since, and the two now have a child. Threnody - Melody Jacobs is a mutant with a unique link to death (hence her codename; a “threnody” is a song of mourning), allowing her to sense when someone is dying, and absorb the release of energy from their passing. What’s more, she can then rechannel this energy as destructive blasts. It seems that this sensitivity to death drove her to insanity, and she was found by Sinister as a delusional, rambling homeless woman. He outfitted her with small “neuro-locks” on the sides of her face helped control her powers, and she regained sanity, but also had to serve him. Seeking to free herself, she attached herself to Nate Grey, and eventually fell in love with him. However, when she became addicted to the death of other people, she found herself feeding on the death energies that clung to Nate Grey due to how his own powers were killing him—and her feeding on him just weakened him further. For his own good, Threnody broke his heart and left him. Her tragedy did not end there, however, for she gave birth to a monstrous child that also needed to feed on death energy. She teamed up with Deadpool so that she could collect the death energy of his kills for her baby, but Deadpool himself ended up killing her child when she tried to murder a pregnant woman for it. Threnody has not been seen since, but wherever she is, it’s doubtful that she is happy. Darkstar - Laynia Petrovna and her twin brother Nikolai were mutants born in the Minsk. Previously it had been the policy of the USSR to kill all mutants, but shortly before Laynia’s birth, they decided that it would be better to use them to serve the state. Thus Laynia and her twin were taken away as newborns and raised, along with a mutant called Ursus who could transform into a bear, at a state facility. Laynia was able to control the Darkforce, enabling her to fly, fire concussive force blasts of darkness, and create constructs out of darkness such as shields or platforms. From this, she took the codename Darkstar, and served Russia as a superhero. She later joined X-Corps and served with them in Paris, where she was killed on a mission. However, as is typical of Marvel characters, she returned to life and has returned to Russia to serve in the Winter Guard, Russia’s post-Soviet superhero squad. Starlight - Dr. Tania Belinsky was a brilliant neurosurgeon in the USSR who struggled with her love for her country and her hate for some of what her government was doing. Though she had no superpowers, she had a secret vigilante identity as the Red Guardian (not to be confused with several other Russian heroes who had this name) and joined the Defenders when she came to America to help Dr. Strange with a brain surgery case. However, she was forced to return by the KGB, who took her to the supervillain known as The Presence (who was also the long-lost father of Darkstar, by the way). He had decided she was his ideal mate, and he exposed her to radiation to give her powers like his own. She gained new powers, such as flight and nuclear blasts and the new name of Starlight, but at the expensive of her free will. Poor Tania was now under the mental thrall of the Presence and served him as both his lover and minion. She eventually freed herself and joined the Winter Guard as a superhero once more. Silhouette Chord - Silhouette Chord was born with the power to control and teleport through shadow. She and her twin brother, who had enhanced strength and reflexes, tried to clean up the streets of their native NYC by infiltrating gangs. After a sting gone wrong, however, Silhouette lost the use of her legs when a policeman’s bullet went through her spine, and her brother became a gang leader for real. Silhouette went the opposite path, joining the superhero team The New Warriors and becoming the lover of fellow member Night Thrasher. She and her brother later discovered that their unique abilities came from being the product of a cult in Cambodia that had sought to create super-powered children through years of selective breeding that would allow them to tap into the mystical energies of “The Well of All Things”. Snowbird - Narya is the half-human daughter of the goddess Nelvanna, part of a fictional pantheon in Marvel called “the Inua” who are associated with the First Nations people of Canada.  The Inua are opposed to a group of monsters called The Great Beasts who seek to invade Earth, and Narya was conceived in order to one day battle them. She was raised by Dr. Michael Twoyoungmen, a Native Canadian and the most proficient shaman in Canada, and she grew rapidly to adulthood. She also grew rapidly into her powers, which included flight and the ability to change into any animal native to her homeland. The two were discovered by the Canadian government and offered membership into the superhero team Alpha Flight. They accepted, taking on the identities of Shaman and Snowbird respectively. Mysterious and aloof, Snowbird is easily overwhelmed by the instincts of her animal form, disoriented by bright lights and colors, prefers to hunt her own own food, and was often very overconfident in her own abilities. After The Great Beasts were seemingly all slain, she desired a normal life…yet returned to being Snowbird at the first subsequent emergency. Cybele - Cybele is an Eternal, a race of immortal and super-powered beings who are a cousin race to humans, engineered by the “space god” Celestials. Cybele has been around since Ancient Greece, where she was worshipped as Rhea, Gaia, and other “earth-mother” goddesses. She is a very minor character herself, but is the mother of Thena, an Eternal who chose to become a superhero among humankind. After the death of her husband Zuras, Cybele chose to leave the other Eternals, and dwells alone in a Colorado forest. In addition to the usual myriad abilities of Eternals, Cybele can also block herself from the senses of others, essentially becoming invisible to them, making it easy to keep herself concealed in the nature she so loves. Saturnyne - Hailing from one of the countless worlds within the Marvel multiverse, Opal Luna Saturnyne is the Omniversal Majestrix, Her Royal Whyness, who dwells with Roma the Omniversal Goddess in her Starlight Citadel as her second-in-command and helps her oversee the Marvel multiverse and all its worlds. Not so much on the side of good as the side of order, Saturyne is intelligent, ambitious, and a ruthless cutthroat bureaucrat with no qualms about wiping out an entire world if it is for the greater good of the multiverse…though she does carry a soft spot for the Captain Britain of Earth 616. Sat-Yr-9 - Opul Lun Say-Yr-9 is the evil counterpart of Saturnyne from another dimension. A dictator in her own world, she was overthrown and imprisoned by her people, until she escaped to the dimension of Earth 616. Once there, she killed her counterpart in that universe (Courtney Ross, an ordinary banker and the ex of Captain Britain), took her place, and bedeviled Captain Britain and the Excalibur team ever since. She in particular seemed to have great plans for Shadowcat, whom she was grooming for as of yet unknown purposes until her true identity was revealed to Excalibur. To the wider world, however, she is still believed to be Courtney Ross, and she even became the White Queen of the Hellfire Club under this identity. Aireo - Aireo is an Inhuman who rebelled against King Black Bolt, and was imprisoned for it. Black Bolt’s treacherous brother Maximus, who desired the throne for himself, freed Aireo and a crew of other Inhuman rebels if they agreed to serve him in his schemes, which they did. Aireo was exiled from the Inhuman city of Attilan for this, and joined Force of Nature with the codename “Skybreaker”. While Aqueduct represented the element of water, Aireo/Skybreaker boasted the element of air, being able to fly and manipulate wind. Aireo is haughty, proud, and disdainful of all humanity, as is typical of Inhumans, though he is also quite critical of how his own species runs their world as well. Poor guy just isn’t happy anywhere!
