and on that note its important to point out that in the boston series alone 3 out of the 5 players (barkov, verhaeghe and now montour) in the 1st powerplay unit have recorded powerplay goals

This morning after a terrible nightmare, I woke up to find that my bedroom door led directly into the basement. After a piping hot cup of coffee to invigorate the mind, I realized that this is a phenomenon I've encountered before: cursed doors! Upon asking Stanley, my suspicions were confirmed: this unexplained phenomenon continues to be a thorn in the side of townsfolk and tourists alike. And even less surprisingly, the tourist bureau never responded to the letter I sent them about it. Well, it is time to take matters into my own hands. My next task is to study these nuisances until I find out how to make this ever-present danger a thing of the past.

#difficulty names are just examples replace with beginner/normal/hyper/another whatever you want#also i knowww difficulty names dont matter as much as the number/scale the game uses blah blah you know ehat i mean though#anyway i usually start with hard. or whatever the second hardest chart for a particular song is. like unless im really#unfamiliar with the mechanics then im usually safe most games play around the same#i get bored if i play normal/easy i get scared if i play expert. such is life. ill allow myself to fail once at the start#and then adjust my range from there. if im at an arcade playing a game for the first time i usually put like. the extra 20 credit#chunks in there to get a premium/standard start anyway to guarantee my 3 songs. i go light start once i know my range#so i can pick my songs smarter

I occasionally see posts where people criticize people in fandoms that view any given media through only a lense of shipping, down to flattening characters to just a few traits so that they fit a ship better. And don't get me wrong, those types of fans also irk me! But another type of fan / fan behaviour that I've never really seen anyone criticize is the types of fans who seem to only care about the lore of a series, and treat everything as a sort of puzzle that needs to be solved and that all open questions need to be answered. Which just. . . feels like a really boring way to engage with media. Questions being left open at the end of the story are good, cause they make you think.
Like, if there's a castle off in the distance in a story that only gets alluded to and nothing else, then that's cool. That makes me wonder about it. But I don't need to know about Lord Fucknugglebart the Dentally Challenged who once lived there And Did A Thing, especially when it adds nothing to the story.
#shut up cal you fool#shut up lucia you fool#this post is lowkey about star wars and some of its fans#but also xenoblade fans#xenoblade 3 has a good number of problems but as far as I'm concerned lore is not really one of them#and to name a counter example#I still remember how in the novel version of lotr return of the king#there's a point where aragorn's group travels along the path to the oath breakers#and they pass by an ancient corpse in front of a door that that person failed to open#and it's never brought up again and afaik there's no big Lore™ to it#and it still lives rent-free in my brain cause it's a super cool moment#or when gandalf returns as The White#and talks about how in the depths below moria he came across ancient nameless things that gnaw away at the world#and that's always just so super cool to me#knowing any more about these things would really just ruin them for me

Yeah. wow. i will say i was much more cruel to my sibling than laios ever was to falin lol he was just kind of a normal brotherly ass#and ofc he was a kid when he ran from home! and i was a kid when i had severe unmanaged adhd (with tism) and had 0 hold on my emotions#and then i withdrew from my sibling once i got on antidepressants lol#it was really difficult to deal with the guilt of having mistreated them to the extent i did while also acknowledging i was failed by our#adults its hard figuring out what exactly youre sorry for#anyways#i love oversharing here. do you guys like it. does anyone ever read these rants#DM

First thing I see this morning is ofmd cancelled. Well what exactly am I supposed to be living for now HBO, I'd like to fucking know.

Many people would be intimidated by Endeavor, but Present Mic was not most people. The man was a Hero, he knew better than to get physical with one of the UA teachers. Still grinning, the blond stretched, leaning back in his chair, unbothered by how it made him look up at Endeavor.
"Well, that's easy!" While he didn't activate the speaker, no need to deafen the other Hero right now, the normal presenter style tone took his voice. "The boy doesn't turn in the work."
He knew Todoroki knew the material, his accent was even limited when he spoke in class, but he had to turn in the papers as well if he wanted any points beyond participation.

#idk is it just me or are irl social interactions extremeeeeeelyyyyy e x h a u s t i n g#e s p e ci a ll y if you have to talk to a bunch of strangers who are somehow getting along really well despite it being their first meeting#but wellllllllllll… ig the reason why im even thinking of this is bc#the beginning of the year always never fails to bring back memories of orientation camps. m a n i hated those#and the things that those camps always have in common are… 1) that i’d be unable to gel well with my groupmates in the orientation camps#and 2) that the orientation group leaders always stick close to me to force me to join in on conversations i want no part of aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa#i think the overnight camp over the first 3 days of school in. like. 2013 was the worst#bc 1: it was a new school. none of us knew anyone else. and we had to stay at school overnight for some reason during that orientation camp#and 2: (idk about the born-males but) the skirt wearers were all forced to sleep in the (unairconditioned) hall together#with no dividers or segregated corners or anything. just the walls of the hall. nothing else to lean on or anything#so most of them. like. slept in the middle of the hall next to the friends they made that day.#but no. not me. i made no friends so i found a little cozy spot under some list of top academic scorers or sth. peace and quiet#and the best part is that the orientation group leaders didn’t sleep in the hall with us soooo i wasn’t forced to talk to anyone yayyyyyyyy#ngl sometimes i think back to my days at that school and wonder why the heck it was so weird#like even the teachers were weird. throwback to my then-club advisor who called the number i specifically asked her not to call…#which set off a series of events that led to *the* incident that caused my parents’ divorce#thank you ma’am your unnecessary efforts were very much unappreciated </3#hmmmmmm but she wasn’t the only weird teacher at that school though. sadly.#like i had this home econs teacher who insisted that the lights be turned off while we cooked#a n d scolded us for rinsing our cooking utensils and stuff bc ‘the previous class had already washed it!’#she also made us write half a page-long reflections on what we cooked that day in class which was bonkers tbh#there was this literature teacher that made a ✨t o n✨ of shipping jokes about my classmates and inappropriate jokes in general#and this other teacher who p much told me ‘ok sure you have trauma. but [other guy] had experienced worse trauma and look he turned out ok’#uh sorry ma’am no. 2 i had already heard his story from him but i don’t think it’s your place to talk about someone else’s trauma like that—#and g o d there was also this time my class’s groupchat got some of my classmates into a whole bunch of trouble#bc some guy leaked the most problematic of the messages to someone else from another class (who then snitched to a teacher)#man. i do not miss school at all. too many people to talk to; too little time to myself#i do wonder how my former schoolmates are doing though… i hope that they’ll have a good 2k24 if they can~~~~~#ok i think that’s enough of a trip down memory lane for one week. man. i feel old

#i was in a group of 7 people and i think only like 3 ppl (including me) were there to play games#i am ALWAYS looking forward to boardgame events#but this time it was such a fail. we didnt even play a proper game bc 7 is already an awkward number of players#and most of them didnt even know any games other than the obvious ones like monopoly#and they didnt really care to learn or try AND on top of that some were like#UGH i could never play a serious boardgame like how do ppl do it 😔😔#YOU ARE AT A BOARDGAME EVENT...#anyway. the one before this was suuuper fun tho!#so thinking abt sticking w that club where actual gamers come to events lmao#but also discovered a gaming association today so! rlly hopeful abt their events too#oh my god when did i become such a gamerbro blogger. oh god#🗒
