The angel was like a hazardous object, all sharp angles and glaring lights. It spoke in sounds of shattering glass, every word sounding off alarms for its mere mortal viewer, who could only fall down and stumble backwards as it levitated closer. The cacophony of its incomprehensible words shook Faeryn, and their eyes shot open in terror. What was it even trying to say?

“W-Whatever I did, I’m sorry, alright?” they managed to blubber out as the angel leered over them, nearly taller than the streetlights. It bent over with a spine so warped and maze-like Faeryn wondered if the laws of nature had ever applied to its startlingly bright form. In the back of their mind, Faeryn was amazed they could even distinguish that irregularity amidst the star-like light. 

The sounds it made changed from the shattering of glass to the popping of firecrackers. The lights on its… face? Could that really be called a face? The lights flickered, over and over, in a dizzying array. Faeryn had to squint their eyes shut, the visuals far too overstimulating for them. After a lengthy hiss, the entity stood straight up once more, and its lights returned to normal. By the time the hyena opened their eyes, it was gone.

“W-where did it go?” Faeryn yelped, sitting up on the pavement. They growled in frustration when they realized their ass was sore as hell from falling down, and they didn’t even have a picture to show for it. Then again… maybe they were just lucky to have escaped alive.

“What the hell was that thing…?” they muttered as they stood back up and dusted themself off. “A tourist?” They didn’t know, but one thing was for sure… things were staying interesting in Aukimidi.
