This is a real cool big book/magazine that has loads of information and pictures I've never seen before. Looks like a compilation of a bunch old dealer brochures I've seen and some articles that I saw in Hyper Rev. Epic addition to my collection.

man I'm gonna MISS them as title rivals... I have increasingly realised this year that. y'know. I absolutely get why jorge went to aprilia, it's a choice I do have a lot of time for, but it is also a massive shame one of the most fun riders on the grid has absolutely nuked his own competitiveness for the foreseeable future. the aprilia looks SO awful my god, I know they do this every year towards the end of the season but that is NOT a serious operation. but it was a fun rivalry with pecco!! I find it fun how they have that undercurrent of tension paired with a determination to Keep Things Civil. when jorge was faffing about behind pecco on-track at sepang in practise and pecco massively slowed down and ignored him, obviously that is objectively Bad and I do think it should probably be penalised, but... well, it was also funny, made me grin, that's a great dynamic they've got going on. let them be silly idk. the whole strangers with memories thing they've got going on, where they really did know each other but have also very much grown apart... good stuff

and AND I love how much jorge clearly wants to beat pecco specifically. I have this theory I aired in private messages at the start of the year but YOU KNOW WHAT, I stand by it - I think jorge might be the only guy on the grid who gets more excited at the prospect of beating pecco than marc. it's great for pecco that he has a guy who is SO focused on him!! proper tunnel vision!! obviously there's a lot of stuff that comes together there. how pecco was always a step ahead of him as they progressed through the ranks... how he's on the factory team, the golden boy, the one who jorge keeps chasing... jorge might not hate pecco but he DOES have a lot of resentment reserved for ducati, and inevitably that twists into the dynamic with pecco - because he's their guy, the guy they will always choose over him. idk!! title rival tunnel vision is always a good thing and pecco kind of deserves a designated rival who really wants to beat HIM. sure, marc's an eight time world champion, but pecco is jorge's peer. that's jorge's ultra special rival!! pecco SHOULD have a guy who's a bit weird about him. as a treat

anyway yeah I'm admittedly not massively hype for the title decider. I'm just a bit burnt out on racing icl, season's too long. and also this type of title decider isn't THAT exciting because it's, y'know, more or less wrapped up but also not so wrapped up you really get to focus on anything else that weekend. also icl catalunya is one of my absolute favourite tracks, I really do adore it, but I'm not sure I adore it in these weather conditions. so mostly I just hope they all make it out safe, which is generally not what I want my primary emotion to be headed into a race weekend. but hopefully we'll get a few fun rivalry moments!! if pecco's mentor showed us anything, it's that racing at catalunya should be all about dramatic duels with your rivals. go out there and have some fun imo (but please be careful)

The Oldest Story

woe, ordem paranormal au enigma twins angst be upon ye. this is a drabble that came to me as i was falling asleep last night and i've cleaned it up. might still make edits to this throughout the day but who knows. spoilers for my fic Relative, and tw for angst and character death.

Bagi was born just three minutes before Cellbit. There were three minutes in her life where she existed without him in the world. Even when their parents died and they were separated, she held onto the notion that he was still out there, living, like a good luck charm tucked in her pocket. As she got older and her life smoothed out, she… No, never started to believe him dead, but in the few efforts she made to reach out, to track him down, the paper trails always ran cold. She had waited too long. She had lost her chance. She was forced to accept the fact that she would live the rest of her life with nothing of her twin brother but that good luck charm tucked in her pocket and that quiet sense of reaching in her chest. Besides—she learned that there were plenty of other horrible things in this world that were worth her worry.

The fact that they did find their way back to each other probably should have meant something. She at first thought it cruel (she had already dedicated her life to the Order at this point, she didn’t expect to reach the age of thirty, and now she finds him?) but also kind, in a way: they could try to make something, with the time she had left. 

In the end, though, it was just cruel. He got dragged into this deadly game despite her best efforts. (It was going to happen either way, she knew, but God. God.) They weren’t perfect, and she abandoned him and he abandoned her when they most need each other but they always found their way back, no matter the rift. They always fell back into each other’s orbit, stretching themselves across the caverns, reaching, reaching, fingertips brushing, I’m here, I’m here, twin star, twin stem, twin blood, my twin, I’m here.

…The creature, though killed, has left them both a bloody mess on the floor. Ten feet between them. They crawl. Red trails behind them, sand slipping through the hourglass. Cellbit’s body gives out when he’s just inches from her but Bagi manages to close the distance anyway, grabbing his outstretched arm (reaching... reaching…) and dragging the two of them together. She pulls him into her bloody arms, matching death-rattles in their lungs, and cradles his face. He looks especially thin with how pale he is. He hasn’t been eating enough. Neither of them have. She holds him and looks into his eyes until they’re nothing but balls of glass sitting in his head. His chest has fallen still.

Six minutes. There is a total of six terrible minutes in Bagi’s life where she is without her twin brother. The only mercy granted her is that it is six minutes and not a second more.

I switched to buying the happy egg brand recently bc I know chickens are the most abused farm animal and I figured paying a couple extra bucks for some of them to have at least a marginally better life was a fair trade off, and I've been really happy with it. Today when I went to boil some eggs for breakfast I found that the two eggs I picked out were different sizes and for some reason that was so charming to me. Like... It makes it feel more real. These are real eggs that come from real chickens who have a somewhat decent quality of life. Hens naturally lay eggs of different sizes, and I feel like it's probably a good sign that an "imperfection" like that was allowed to exist rather than the company being set up in a way where hens are just made to keep pumping out eggs until they can replace all the natural variation with "perfect" ones
