If any of y’all have abandoned Facebook and are wondering if you’re missing much over there: I only have a Facebook account at this point because my church has one and it’s the easiest way to see what’s going on with everyone, so I obviously am not checking it daily. I was just scrolling through my feed today and started to feel like I was seeing more ads/posts from groups Facebook has decided I will like than posts from people and groups I recognize, so I counted the number of posts in each category for ten posts in a row.
Six out of ten were either ads or posts from Facebook groups I do not belong to. More than half!
So, anyway, you aren’t missing much.

Ironically enough, 75% of the reason I deleted my Facebook and instagram apps was because their algorithm for ads worked TOO well on my impulsive nature; I quit both apps cold turkey to save money by avoiding the temptation altogether
If their advertising was less aggressive and accurate they would have kept me as a user on their platform
