This subject has been written about extensively already by multiple sources much better informed than I am. Do check out the 5thinvictus synopsis for more.

That being said, as someone who pays a lot of attention to folds in clothing, as observing the way fabric folds is something I happen to greatly enjoy - it is OBVIOUS to me that he is in fact equipped.

Sure, it could be argued that they simply didn't want to make the actor tuck - but then wouldn't the other strigoi have inexplicable bulges too ?

ESPECIALLY the scene where he is stripped with only a sheet to cover him. This was a stark scene in terms of props so the focus was very much on the actors and the few carefully chosen props (the way the chair the professor sits in is angled being a wonderful example of that). The bedsheet and quinlans vulnerability and humanesque nakedness were very much the focus, with the scientific perspective and consequent scientific curiosity (yes even in regards and especially in regards to his secondary sexual characteristics as a half strigoi) from eph being a part of the scene.

Fabric does NOT fall like that unless there is something underneath. The leather is a wonderful example of this as it's stiffer thus less dramatic - but still very much visible.

Inktober day 7: drapery and folds

This is from my Weekly Prompt Challenge. Created for the discord server I'm part of with other artists to give us more ideas to draw with.

This was from week 11 where I chose the prompt "True Grit" from the movie/tv show category. Overall I like how it turned out but some parts could have been done better but that's what this challenge is all about. It's about learning and trying new things. Things outside of my comfort zone or things I find challenging. Fabric folds and hands were definitely the challenge here.

So, in 2018 I bought a character drawing class on Udemy and I've very slowly been making my way through it. I only have one module left as of finishing these, so I'm feeling quite determined to get it done! As it is, enjoy these fabric fold studies - one of my assignments.
