We took our girls out to train on upcycling with Mide Pearl. There were so excited 😆 they went back to school to make theirs and was presented as an #EcoArt #EcoCraft at our just concluded #GreenChallenge5 #Art4Nature competition to commemorate #WorldEnvironmentDay 2017 held at the only nature park in Nigeria -Lufasi Nature Park. 120 Students from 12 secondary schools in Nigeria will be presenting a short essay on how people can connect to nature and represent it artistically through painting and drawings to vie for the first ever #ART4NATURE Award in Nigeria. Each participant will give a 5 minutes’ presentation on their ART pieces and will be screened by professional Artists and nature lovers. The student who can artistically represent his/her ART work with the WED 2017 theme "connecting people to nature" receives the award. This event will take place at NIgeria's only Nature park and animal sanctuary, LUFASI Park on the 14th of June to mark World Environment Day, 2017. Happy World Oceans Day 2017! Hurray!! • Here at last. This picture was taken at Magbon Alade Community Beach. The children literally begged* for this picture to be taken. We asked why? And they answered "If you take our picture, you can help us tell Oyibo (meaning the whites) about our condition at the ocean shore and maybe we can go to school again and our daddy can fish again and mummy sell the fishes". Were we're moved to tears at 1. The level of knowledge that was passed. 2. The need to help them. Now we wish we had super powers to remove every ocean debris or litter and restore the fishes back in the water and then voila 😀😄 But we can start here and now! That's the whole essence of this story. We can start sorting our waste, separating non-biodegradables from biodegradables. Turn biodegradables into compost for your gardens and non-biodegradables can be recycled ♻️ Little things we do jointly can have rippled effects and become a big deal.
