Last year our #Wed2017 #GreenChallenge program for #ecoambassadors and participating #schools was tagged #Art4Nature which was celebrated in collaboration with #FADEAfrica @lasepalagos and @lufasipark . This year Fight Against Desert Encroachment🌵 brings you #ArtGoesGreen. This project brings an avenue to showcase #Art with an environmental message that can be useful in our everyday lifestyle. . The aim is to push for the ending of #singleuseplastics with the message that if you can’t reuse it, we should refuse it. . Let’s do this guys. More programs to #ditchsingleuseplastics #forever 🙌

We took our girls out to train on upcycling with Mide Pearl. There were so excited 😆 they went back to school to make theirs and was presented as an #EcoArt #EcoCraft at our just concluded #GreenChallenge5 #Art4Nature competition to commemorate #WorldEnvironmentDay 2017 held at the only nature park in Nigeria -Lufasi Nature Park. We celebrate them today because we are prod of them. The younger generation are critical in helping to identify sustainable solutions to the problems facing our world today and in the future. Their energy is volatile so also is their enthusiasm. To further inculcate environmental/sustainability education into the minds and consciousness of our youths, we are organizing our 5th Green Challenge competition tagged “Art for Nature” to commemorate World Environment Day 2017 in collaboration with Lagos State Government Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), FADE Africa, and United Nations Information Centre, Lagos at Lekki Urban Forest and Animal Sanctuary Initiative Nature Park on the 14th of June, 2016 at 10am. The Green Challenge is an environment education program that raises students’ awareness about local and global environmental challenges as well as providing students the opportunity to explore and debate about environmental issues through essay writing. 120 Students from 12 secondary schools in Nigeria will be presenting a short essay on how people can connect to nature and represent it artistically through painting and drawings to vie for the first ever #ART4NATURE Award in Nigeria. Each participant will give a 5 minutes’ presentation on their ART pieces and will be screened by professional Artists and nature lovers. The student who can artistically represent his/her ART work with the WED 2017 theme "connecting people to nature" receives the award. This event will take place at NIgeria's only Nature park and animal sanctuary, LUFASI Park on the 14th of June to mark World Environment Day, 2017.
