not rly, i’m quite private abt my writing (bc i’m so new at it) but sometimes i’ll tell my irl friend abt it (who has second hand info from me abt all the fandoms i’m in) who’ll help me a bit w vocalising my ideas.

22. when do you know you’re really in a writing frenzy?

normally when i see 3am on my clock. i am a late night writer at heart and can and will ignore sleepiness to write down ideas :D

that and if i start planning out ideas when i’m bored/waiting somewhere. i’m not a daydreamer in any sense of the word so it was wild to experience that recently

I think Cinder in the F1 au has the constant issue of being unable to accept things are going at all well for her when she starts helping Ruby. She constantly gets in her own way and self sabotages them by relying on old habits. She’s investing in strategies during races which she could pull off way back when but are either outdated now or Ruby can’t complete. As well as she’s incapable of taking care of herself before races because of nerves and anxieties connected with her crash and the thought of her potentially causing Ruby to end up like her so she turns to the bottle frequently. Only when one of Ruby or Winter finally uproot her from whatever place she’s drinking in does she really stop, she’s in deep need of a support system especially stumbling around with her cane and shit eyesight.

anon thank you so much for asking about the pacific rim au I hope you’re prepared for a ramble

so in an ideal world I would write like a whole series of long one shots about this au but idk if that’s ever actually going to be something I can follow through with… but I do have a lot of ideas for copilot dynamics and such so here’s a couple of bits of fun info!

Firstly, the timeline of copilots is based on the f1 teammates timeline because I think it’s fun making a narrative around something that is already predetermined. Would lestappen be the greatest pilot pairing ever? Maybe, but we won’t find out in this au!

Max is drift compatible with basically anyone, but it’s not always a pleasant experience for the other pilot. It works, there’s a stable drift, but it’s taxing. Mostly because Max has exceptional control over the drift which can make him pretty overbearing, and it’s hard to push back against his decisions. He has a tight leash on what he lets through as well, only giving up just enough of himself to create a stable connection. He works well with a pilot that is happy to let him take the lead.

Oscar develops a ghost drift with his copilot really quickly, no matter who it is. It fades pretty quickly if he’s not drifting with someone frequently, but he’s still pretty self conscious about it because most people get weird about having such an intimate connection at all times before they’ve really become close. Lando thinks it’s the coolest thing ever and is constantly making use of the ghost drift, which results in a lot of saying things at the same time and finishing each other’s sentences.

Lance is almost the mirror of Max, he’s not the most stand out pilot alone, but he drifts really well with just about anyone. People that drift with him describe it as “comfortable”. He works well with a strong personality, so him and Fernando make an excellent duo. He’s also got pretty good control of the drift, and when he breaks his wrists mid kaiju battle Fernando is shocked with how well he’s able to keep piloting without letting the pain bleed into the drift.

Some fun bits of information about some more unique aspects of some of the pilots! Honestly I love this au so much (massive pacific rim fan) so I’m always very happy to talk about it!
