First of all, life happened and happened for good, I couldn't write much before but Now. NOW is the time.

I planned and plotted a lot during the whole year I first came up with the idea and I have a kind of strong base for the AU. I also have a brilliant beta by my side, my dear friend Frog (@faramircaptainofgender), so hopefully during this summer this idea will be shared with you all outside our little friend group.

I'll take this opportunity and shamelessly turn my answer into a main post for the AU.

Human within the Machine

[brief synopsis]

The Nations of the world developed a simulation where future Jaeger pilots can practice for in-action cases. Max Verstappen outshines every other contestants in the history of drifting, there's only one problem - he's no team player.

Charles Leclerc is determined to stop the Kaijus and end their reign, once and for all. He lost his parents due to kaiju attacks, now he feels responsible not only to avenge their deaths, but to bring a brighter future to his brothers.

Jaeger engineering is living its golden age, there is money in it and many enthusiastic contestants who are not entirely aware of the horror that awaits them out at the ocean.

There’s no main plot (as in: I am not planning on detailed world-building neither to save the world from kaijus, I am smaller than that), the endgame is to get Max into an active combat where he drifts with Charles and they’re in the Il Predestinato (the legendary Jaeger that has been out of service for a decade, waiting for the right co-pilots). Everything before and in between are just themes I desire to explore within the possibilities of this AU.

I have a playlist that helps me to stay inspired, songs are not in order yet though, but as I said earlier, chapters are meant to be kind-of standalone scenes, existing in their own moods and settings.

Each chapter will have its own chosen background music linked to them. I also added many symphonic songs just to get in the mood for some combat scenes.

Roles: In the case of HwtM we have active and passive characters in this story. Due to the fact that many scenes are set in drift-memories, where not everything is factual and we are in the mix of memories and feelings, some characters will only appear and speak through these moments. Therefore they fall into the passive category - they are the legends. I will talk about them in their own post but the gist of it is what I wrote above, they cannot speak for themselves so we will only see them through tilted lenses: idolised, villanised, or the mix of both.

Which also means another thing - everyone is an unreliable narrator.

Teams and Jaegers: Since this is the golden age of Jaeger engineering, we will have many-many Jaegers. So far I named only a few, but to stay true to the source material, I'm trying to make them just as cheesy yet compelling as the ones were in the movies. The constructor teams from real life are not so different from what they represent in HwtM, but I altered some of their names to fit more into the world (older names or older sounding names of some teams since the future that Pacific Rim has is basically our present. I was aiming for some retro-vibe).

Here, they are different detachments under the Pan Pacific Defense Corps, in the Jaeger Academy division. I’m planning on working with Merc, Ferrari, McLaren, Williams and of course Redbull.

Mercedes is called Benz

Ferrari is called Alfa Romeo

Red Bull is Toro Rosso

The other two stay under the same name.

Ships to look out for: it is a Lestappen-centered story (if I am really honest with you, it’s Max-centered first of all) but on the side-lines we will look into some depths of Carlando, Galex and Maxiel in…some way. Please-please keep in mind, that these won’t be fully developed romantic relationships in the fic, I’m reporting from the minds and souls of these boys, objectively perceived scenes between them will be rare and much more comrade-like.

Modern “Love Birds” Bridal Shower Ideas

When it comes to special occasion parties like baby and bridal showers, one of my favorite things to do is take a popular theme and give it a fresh and unexpected twist.

It’s so fun to see the reactions from guests when they notice all the playful elements and thoughtful details that went into creating a truly UNIQUE experience for them!

A Modern Love Birds Bridal Shower

“Love Birds” is a popular theme that typically leans rustic or “shabby chic garden party” in style, but the high contrast black and white design on the Birds of a Feather bowls instantly had me wanting to go bold and modern for this soirée, with some bright and spunky colors brought in for summer…

I also decided to go more “birds on a wire” than “birds in a nest” with this design, and incorporated artsy elements like mod sketched flowers and color-blocked feathers.

I hope you enjoy this playful take on the Love Birds theme, and find some inspiration here for your own celebrations!

THE CANDY BUFFET

I thought it would be fun to design a creative candy buffet as the focal point of the party and use bird bowls as the serving dishes. Since hot pink and yellow were my accent colors, I also incorporated a set of fun bowls into the mix.

Candy can add up VERY quickly, but you really don’t need to serve up a gazillion different types of it. Focus on 5-7 candy options, and utilize decorative elements and creative styling to help make the table feel full.

I also love re-naming treats to coordinate with the theme. Most people can recognize that a gum ball is a gum ball on their own, but adding a creative label like “Lolli-Flocks” (for lollipops) or “Balls of Sunshine” (for yellow gum balls) will make them smile… plus it looks pretty! ;)

You can also use creative packaging to help fill a lot of space on the table without requiring a ton of candy. I embellished these cute heart shaped favor containers with chalkboard stickers found in the stationery section at Target…

Use signage to encourage guests to take some treats home… this means your candy buffet doubles as the party favors too! You can download this 8×10 sign and the matching flower favor tags below.

I used an inexpensive black plastic trim (the kind often used by kids for stringing beads) – to accent my white table with a “wires inspired” criss cross pattern. This same trim was used for the “birds on a wire” design in the wall backdrop.

I spray painted paper marquee lights and white feathers to match the theme, and used paper bird and flower silhouettes (cut out by hand) as decorative accents for both the table and the top of the cake!

I also added a Candyfetti heart to the top of the cake and outlined it in yellow Sixlets. (Candyfetti is also what was used to line the lollipop trays.)

To recreate this design, gently place a heart shaped cookie cutter on top of your cake while the frosting is still wet, then sprinkle a thin layer of tiny candy or sprinkles inside the heart. Carefully remove the cookie cutter, and the candy heart silhouette should remain in place!

THE TABLESCAPE

This was such a fun tablescape to put together! Again, everything was inspired by the Birds of a Feather bowls, as seen in the centerpiece.

I filled the largest mixing bowl with lemons – an easy and summery filler that already matched the theme – then set a craft marquee light heart on top to further coordinate the tablescape with the candy buffet and play up the element of LOVE!

Paper details also played a big role here… I designed some party flags and a special chair banner for the guest of honor. My favorite detail of the entire table though? Definitely the “bird on a wire” napkin rings! ;)

The napkin rings are made from paper bird silhouettes hot glued to a thick silver ribbon. One bird reads “Tweet Tweet Let’s Eat” and the other reads “Chirp Chirp Hooray”.

I just couldn’t get enough of the paper flower silhouettes either! Here, they’re embellishing a couple of cute wire bird figurines.

Now, I know that champagne doesn’t require a straw, but it sure looks cute with a straw/flag stirrer! These little flags can also be used to dress up food and other drinks.

The champagne flutes are also embellished with DIY “costume ring” drink markers – made from beads hot glued to plain ring bases – and with balloon bands. (Yes, balloons!)

To make the bands, just cut the top and tail off of a 12″ balloon so that you’re left with a balloon “ring”, then stretch that part over and around the champagne flute for a fun accent.

Lowest of efforts kinda pinterest collage but I had to create something visual for my Pacific Rim AU and this was faster than planning and drawing in details my version of a Jaeger inspired by f1 cars.

I'm finishing up the Prologue and hopefully before August I start posting the chapters. Exciting times!!

Been planning this for almost a whole year.

Now we start the journey of F1 drivers being Jaeger pilots. This is a very emotion driven story, I'm planning to dwell on drift compatibility, the beauty of it, the hardship of drifting, and being just the two of you in that massive robot - counting on only your bond against it all.

This could have never happened without my beloved boyfriend (@leversainz) who was and still is the biggest fan of this project, thank you my love for enjoying my thoughts. And I also have a wonderful and supportive beta by my side who will deserve their own George-centered chapter later on, give it up to @faramircaptainofgender.

As you see, this is the prologue, therefore very short chapter, I’m planning on longer ones later on. Each chapter will have its own chosen background music linked to them.

Team Redline although won't be mentioned all by name in the story but they are big part of the Jaeger Engineering faculty ✨

Crane is a very fond friend of Max from J-Tech and it surprises Charles when he learns how many connections and respect Max has among the other J-Tech Occupations.

(Can't wait to lean into Max's "secret life" as an upcoming Jaeger engineer, while Charles only sees the Perfect Pilot in front of him, who refuses to join a real combat.)

PACIFIC RIM AND F1?????????????????? I LOVE YOU SO MUCH

Im sooooooo sorry for only replying now, I got too excited that people are interested in this au that I disappeared to work on it properly so there’s more I can show around 👉👈

But YES its a lestappen centered story with some other ships as side-dishes, I mostly want to concentrate on the drift compatibility of many drivers, the tragedy that comes with an apocalyptic world such as this one, and, of course, staying true to the source material and looking for the love and humanity above all in such mechanical and emotionless settings

Im putting together many posts about the fic, sharing the plot and mostly the lore(?) of it all - since it isn’t a fully built story just collection of visual ideas and character studies, I’m not planning on world building that is written into the story but rather shared during flashbacks, conversations and throwaway lines, so the factual things about the world of this AU will be here on my blog, while the fanfic goes to ao3

I have some written scenes and plans for multiple chapters, webweaving posts scheduled up, a work in progress playlist,,,so many things!!
