MINGYU (hesitant) Uh… Isn't it kind of expensive?

DATE shoots MINGYU a look. He heaves out a longsuffering sigh.

MINGYU Okay, I'll get us some.

MINGYU makes his way to the snack bar. YOU look up. His eyebrows furrow, because he can't read the look on your face as well as he used to.

MINGYU Hey, look—

YOU (interrupting) Welcome to Cinema '76. What can I get you?

MINGYU feels his heart drop in his stomach. He wants to explain, but then DATE comes up to him.

DATE Can you get us some soda, too?

MINGYU wishes he hadn't noticed the slight change in YOUR expression. But YOU keep YOUR cool as you go to punch in the order.

YOU A large popcorn and two sodas. Anything else?

MINGYU I—

DATE And a pack of M&Ms, please.

YOU Got it.

MINGYU watches helplessly as you go get their snacks. When YOU return, he wordlessly hands over the payment. The tips of your fingers brush.

MINGYU (softly) Thanks.

YOU only give MINGYU a nod in response. He winces slightly when DATE grabs him by the arm.

DATE We'll miss the previews!

MINGYU Right, right.

MUSIC UP: "You Were Beautiful" by DAY6

MINGYU lets DATE drag him off. He casts one glance over his shoulder at YOU, except YOU'RE not even looking at him. Somehow, that's even worse.

INT. CINEMA '76, CINEMA 1 - DAY

The film is one of those cheesy romcoms. MINGYU thinks about how YOU had introduced him to his favorite romcom; how the two of you used to spend hours and hours debating over which was best.

His DATE leans over a lot to comment on things, he notices.

DATE (pressing close to MINGYU) I think Glen Powell is severely underrated...

MINGYU laughs, just a bit, because in his mind's eye, he can see how YOU would react to that opinion. He's also imagining the look on YOUR face if YOU saw somebody talking during a film.

YOU only allowed movie commentary if it was in the comfort of YOUR home. Otherwise, in public places like cinemas? YOU would glare daggers at anybody who dared.

DATE (CONT'D) ... And that's kind of like Sydney Sweeney, isn't it?

Crap. MINGYU has no idea what DATE had just said.

MINGYU (whispering) Yeah, I agree.

DATE seems placated. Close call, thinks MINGYU. But he's also thinking about how the two of you would argue about everything. How YOU would never back down on YOUR opinion, and how he adored YOU for all YOUR convictions.

DATE goes to hold MINGYU's hand. He almost flinches away. But that would be rude, so he awkwardly lets them hold on.

It's cruel, but throughout the movie, MINGYU bears it by imagining that it's YOUR hand instead.

INT. CINEMA '76, LOBBY - EARLY EVENING

MINGYU emerges from the movie with DATE. He immediately drops their hand.

MINGYU Hey, uh, I think I was short on change from the cashier. Mind if I go check on that real quick?

DATE Oh, sure. I'll wait for you by the entrance.

MINGYU Thanks.

MINGYU rushes back to the snack bar. YOU'RE nowhere to be found. He checks his watch; YOUR shift has probably ended.

MINGYU (underneath his breath) Damn it.

MINGYU had wanted to explain. He does the next best thing. He fishes out his phone from his pocket and pulls up your contact, which is still your name with a heart emoji. He hasn't changed it after all this time.

He types and retypes several texts. When did you start working at Cinema '76? and You looked good and Can we talk, please? and I wished it was you during the entire two-hour runtime of the film.

In the end, he only sends out an I'm sorry.

MINGYU puts his phone away. He wanders back to DATE, who greets him with a helluva good question; they're looking at the posters for upcoming shows.

DATE (absentmindedly) How do you feel about sequels?

And, again, MINGYU is thinking of YOU.

MINGYU I think they're always worth a shot.

Hello everyone! Welcome to our Valentine's Week mini Self Ship event!

From February 12th to the 18th, I'd like to invite you all to participate in a self ship event all about love! This is meant to be a low-effort, laid-back event where the hardest thing you'll probably have to do is interact with other people 😅 Each day will have a different theme for every type of f/o and self shipper! The themed days are listed below:

February 12th - Familial F/o Day! This day will be all about focusing on your familial f/os! Parents, siblings, kids, or any other character you consider part of your family. ❤️❤️

February 13th - Platonic F/o Day! This day is dedicated to all our fictional besties!! Give some appreciation to the f/os that are there for a good laugh and a shoulder to cry on. 💛💛

February 14th- Romantic F/o Day! Of course, Valentine's Day itself will be dedicated to the special f/os in our lives who are there for us through thick and thin. Our f/os love us every day and we love them, but we'll give them extra love today! 🩷🩷

February 15th - Self Love Day! Sure, it can be argued that all of self ship is a form of self love, but I really want us all to focus on it today, by thinking about and maybe even listing out the things that our f/os would especially love about us. 💝💝

February 16th - February 18th - F/o Takeover & Letter Writing Weekend! This one is a bit of a player's choice; option one, an f/o takeover! Y'all know the drill on that one by now, let your f/os of choice answer questions on your blog for the weekend. ❤️ Option two, for those not into takeovers, is to spend the weekend writing love letters to your f/os! They can be as short or long as you like, while also making as few or as many as you'd want to. I'd also like to highly encourage sending out f/o letters to your fellow self shippers from their own f/os! ❤️

There we have it! That's our weekend, laid out in its entirety. However, these are more guidelines than strict rules. You can really run the week any way you like, as long as you're enjoying yourself!

I would also like to add that this month, for those who don't know, is Black History Month, so while you focus on your ships, don't forget to show some love to my black brothers and sisters in the self ship community as well! 🧡🧡🧡

I'll have some more suggestions on things to do below the cut, but I'll end it here up top, because this is long enough as it is. Feel free to reblog to get the word around, and for just one week, let's only think about love. ❤️💝🥺💝❤️

Now then, here are some suggestions on things to do over the week on our themed f/o days:

For our creative types, you could create some art and doodles, writing and drabbles, gifs, screenshots, or any other type of content for your f/os of the day.

For those who want a more chill experience, just some good ol' gushing will work perfect! I'll also be trying to make some short ask games full of questions for each themed day.

For the self-love day in the 15th, I highly encourage everyone to make a list of things that their f/os love about them. Of course not everything is always perfect, so if you'd like, you can also talk about your flaws and the way that your f/os would still love you with them. I don't wanna see any self deprecation though, because I know all of you are much more wonderful than you may think! ❤️❤️

Lastly, for the weekend, as I said earlier I would love to see people sending out letters to other self shippers. If anyone remembers the To My S/i events from a few years back, as much as I would love to run an event like that, I know that's setting some people up for disappointment when they don't receive any letters, so I want it to be something that's encouraged but not expected. That being said, it's still highly encouraged! Even if you're worried about how accurately you may write someone's f/o, I believe you should still give it a try anyway! 💝💝💝

That's about all the suggestions I have, except for this last one: while this week is about love for our f/os, I still wanna see love for our fellow self shippers with plenty of interaction going around, even something as small as a reblog or question sent for an ask game makes a big difference! And remember, just like the New Radicals said, "you only get what you give."

Hello everyone, I wanted to put together a nice, low-pressure event dedicated to my fellow wlw self shippers for one week of June because it's pride month, babey!! This is the first time I've ever tried to 'organize' an event, so take it easy on me, I'll try to be as communicative as possible and if anyone has questions about it, asks and DMs are always open!

On to the details! Its gonna last from Monday the 10th through Friday the 14th, and anyone can opt in or out as they see fit! No one is obligated to participate throughout the entire week or from the beginning alone, just do what you feel like!

RULES:

NO PROSHIPPERS/COMSHIPPERS/NEUTRAL, all blogs with that will be blocked on sight!

Obviously don't participate if you're not wlw/not shipping with a female character

Friday June 14th: Role/Ship Swap -

Anos Voldigoad. The demon king reborn that so happens to have stolen the hearts of men and women alike.

And yet there was one single person who his heart was set on, one single person who his gaze always lingered on.

You.

"You should meet my parents. They'll love you."

Anos said as he put his hands in his pockets before glancing over at you, the one who would make his steady heart beat rapidly when nobody else could do so.

"Didn't I already meet them?"

You had asked him as you raised an eyebrow, because it was true. Anos did introduce his parents to his friends, and you were there when he did so.

His parents adored you, maybe more than the others, and yet nobody could explain why, nobody except the Demon King himself.

But he gave no explanation.

"Yes, but I want you to meet them again. Just you and I."

Anos said with a shrug, but you couldn't help but narrow your eyes as you saw that mischievous glint in his eyes.

You already knew what was comimg.

"Is this a—"

"Maybe."

Damn. He didn't even try to hide it. He made his courting to you abundantly clear to you and eveyone around.

Not that you minded too much.

"Have some kind of shame, Anos. If people see you flirting so openly with your other right hand person, then it's going to be a problem."

You say with an exasperated sigh as the two of you continue to walk around, even stopping at a bakery to grab some of the treats to eat.

"They already know. I haven't hid anything."

He smirks as he carefully pulled the leaf out that had been tangled in your hair, muttering something about being careful in case there were bugs on the tree.

"In any case, you're not just my right hand person. You're my future monarch too."

He said with a proud smirk, causing you to roll your eyes. He was never going to shut up about teasing you about being the future monarch.

But was that so bad when his teasing was as gentle and loving as it was.

Before he could get another word in, he found the pastry held to his mouth and a serious look on your face.

He smiled and happily obliged. If it was cutting down on the teasing while you ate that you wanted, it was what he would give you.

Tonight was a night that reminded you both of final night of your previous lives.

It was a night where Anos wasn't playfully bantering with you. He just stood under the blanket of the night sky and began to ponder, reminiscing, regretting.

*Back to the past*

"Anos, come on. You can't be serious."

The voice of his beloved rang out that day, clear in his head as he sat on his throne with Hero Kanon in front of him.

"If it means that there will be peace among our people, then I don't mind it. Peace is something we agreed we wanted."

He said as he stood up and looked over at you, one of his greatest friends, one of his companions, and more importantly his spouse.

"I don't want you to do this, but I know you're insistent on this."

You sigh before you looked over at Hero Kanon with a determination in your eyes that Anos was used to seeing when you wouldn't back down. It was one of the things he loved about you, but now it worried him.

"Love, what are you—"

"Kanon, kill me alongside Anos."

Silence.

It was so sudden, and it was as if time froze at your words. Anos would swear that he's never been more afraid of anything until that moment. The fear of having you lose your life just so you could be together in death as well was a bittersweet moment for him.

And Kanon? He was just as stunned, and he was far more hesitant to let you meet the same fate as Anos, especially when he saw how shaken up the demon king was. It was a sight nobody had ever witnessed before. It was... unsettling that there was actually something that scared the demon king of tyranny.

"No. I won't allow for your life to be cut so short. Why would you even think of something like that, my monarch?"

Anos asked as he gently grabbed your arm, looking at you with a desperation in his eyes that was never ever seen before. It was quite heartbreaking for you to have to witness such a sight, since your husband had no fears except losing you.

"Anos, it's not living if it's not with you."

You told him, your tone gentle as you gently held his hands and interwined your fingers, almost hearing the heartbeat of the man in front of you that you'd exchanged vows with.

"I can't... you..."

He couldn't get any words out yet, his heart heavy, trying to think of ways to convince you not to go through with it.

"Anos, I love you. And until death do us part, but even death can't separate us. And hey, we could always reincarnate together."

You say, holding back your own tears over all this. But you told yourself that at least one of you needed to be strong, and if your husband would fall apart, you'd be the one to hold him together, because you loved him as much as he loved you.

"You better find me, my beloved, otherwise there's going to be problems."

Anos said softly as he rested his forehead against yours, hugging you close to him as the two of you just teared up together, embracing the warmth together one last time before you would need to reincarnate after two thousand years.

"I'll find you. I promise. My thoughts will echo your name until I see you again."

You told him as he leaned in and kissed your forehead, gently cupping your cheek before he rested his forehead against yours again.

"Likewise, I'll also think of you until we meet again. Not only was I enchanted to meet you, but being married to you is one of the best things to ever happen to me."

Anos said as you two just let the moment engulf you a little longer before pulling away reluctantly and nodding to Hero Kanon, who had been silent to let you have your moment.

It was time.

*Present day*

Anos didn't even know he was crying, nor did he even sense your presence until you gently wiped his tears and gave him a hug, having already figured out what he was thinking about since he was clenching his fists hard enough for his knuckles to turn white.

"You remembered our final day before reincarnation, didn't you?"

You asked him the rhetorical question as he hugged you back, hugging you as if he would lose you once more.

He hummed in confirmation, and you gently rubbed his back.

"Then let me remind you of our marriage. Think of the good times, my love."

You mumble, and he hummed once more as he too, remembered the first time you both got married.

*Even further back to the past*

You and Anos had just finished fighting a battle alongside each other before he gently cupped your cheek and wiped the blood off your face.

"Beloved..."

He began to speak as you had set down your sword to instead turn your gaze to him, wondering what he would say next.

"You've always been at my side."

He spoke once more, carefully choosing his words as the stars seemed to shine extra bright that night. It was a clear night.

"Yeah? You're not planning on firing me as your most trusted knight outside of Shin, right?"

You joked as you gently elbowed him, causing Anos to smile before he gently held your hands, looking deep into your eyes.

"Marry me."

He was so blunt that you choked on your spit, letting out a fit of coughs.

"Come again?!"

"Be my monarch, rule alongside me. Be mine."

Anos spoke again, kneeling on one knee in front of you as he held one of your hands in his, and his other hand rested over his heart.

"You're kidding."

In all fairness, you both had discussed it multiple times, but you always assumed he was kidding due to his rank.

"I've never been more serious about anything in my life. You and me. Through this life, and every other lifetimes. No matter how many times we have to be reborn, I will find you and you'll continue having my heart."

His confession was so real, straight from his heart. And you knew he meant every single word, because he looked at you like you were the only one in his entire world.

"You know what? Let's do it. Every birth from now and potential reincarnations, we will be born together, and we will never part."

You said and Anos smiled, standing up as he wrapped his arms around you and gently pressed a kiss to your forehead, a soft look in his eyes.

"I never thought that I would fall in love until I saw you, and I would never fall in love again until I find you again. And I would never fall, unless it's you I fall into."

Anos made his promise to you under the stars, the two of you accepting your love with the stars as a witness to your love and marriage.

*Present day... again...*

"I was lost within the darkness, but then I found you."

You tell him as he looks at you with love even to this day, as your heart and gazed filled with as much love for him as he had for you.

Anos smiles and kisses your hand, lightly tracing your ring finger as he looks at you, no sign of the cocky and teasing Anos Voldigoad that he shows to others. Only the man who fell in love with you.

"Now... ready to meet my parents as my lawfully wedded partner?"

"I'm ready as I'll ever be."

And with that, he held your hand, both of you linking your fingers as you walked home together, talking and laughing under the night sky.

BONUS:

*In another life, modern timeline*

An alarm went off, and when you had checked it, you couldn't help but smile since it was Anos who set the alarm.

He set a little message for you before sending you a text so you could go downstairs.

As you walk downstairs, you pass by Izabella and Gusta who both wish you a happy wedding anniversary with Izabella getting emotional at the fact that you're the spouse of Anos, and how thankful she was to be your mother-in-law.

And once you go downstairs, Anos had a smile on his face as he held his phone in one hand, and a bouquet of your favourite flowers in the other.

"I confirmed our reservation to your favourite restaurant. Are you ready?"

He asked with a soft tone as you took the flowers and put them in water before you looked over at him with a loving look.

"I sure am. Happy anniversary, my king."

You say, wrapping your arms around him to give him a warm embrace and gentle kiss.

"Happy anniversary, my monarch."

He mutters as he looks at you with love as well, noticing how both your wedding rings were shining in the light.

You loved each other in every life, and would continue to do so for every life too.

For not even death could do you part.

It was a love til death and beyond, and your vows said it too.

It was getting late. You were waiting in the bodega parking lot for Radicles to get off work. He was a bit confused seeing the familiar car through the store's windows, but immediately lit up once he recognized you in the driver's seat. He quickly finished up and waved goodbye to his coworkers as he excitedly jogged out to greet you.

You rolled down the window as he approached, he came up and leaned against the door, giving you a greeting kiss through the window. "How ya doin' cutie? What brought ya here?" You answered, having had an idea to pick him up and have a little date. Radicles seemed giddy, running around the car to get in the passenger seat.

You hadn't told him any details other than you had a fun lil date night planned. You drove as he pestered you to try and tell him what your plan was. He'd see in due time.

You soon arrived at your shared living space. Before you entered, you covered his eyes, leading him in. A surprise is gonna be a surprise, and a nice one at that.

Soon he was sat on the couch, eyes still covered by your hands. "Oh! Is this date gonna be a blind one?" You suppress a laugh at his bad joke.

Eventually you uncover his eyes, and plopped down next to him. Your favorite movie was up ready to be played, snacks on the table nearby, and plenty of blankets and pillows around. Lights had already been dimmed. Surprise! And surprised Radicles certainly was! Excited as well. "Oh, y/n, you shouldn't have!"

He pulled you into a big hug, you both were overcome with giggles and general happiness. After the laughs subsided, he simply looked at you, eye to eye. " 'm so lucky to have you"

And he kissed you. You two sat there, in bliss, oblivious to all else, just enamored with the other.

The date went on excellently. You two snuggled on the couch and watched movies, eating terrible snacks and enjoying the other's company. After ordering dinner and more relaxing, you two turned in for the night, cuddling in bed as y'all had on the couch. An excellent date night you both enjoyed.

hello! I've been talking about this idea with @infernal-selfships and we decided it would be cool to create a zine for selfship content in the world of HSR!

the theme decided for this project is flowers, a colourful form of life which can appear in many different shapes in this vast universe we're self-inserting in. and as such, this zine will accept works on any type of selfships as long as it's not proship.
