वाट्सएप ने भारत के कंट्री हेड के तौर पर अभिजीत बोस को नियुक्त करने का फैसला किया है। वाट्सएप ने बुधवार को इसकी घोषणा करते हुए कहा कि बोस कैलिफोर्निया के बाहर पहले हेड होंगे। बता दें कि भारत सरकार ने वाट्सएप के सामने कुछ शर्त रखी थी। इन शर्तों में कंट्री हेड की नियुक्त्ती भी शामिल थी। अभिजीत 2019 से अपना पद ग्रहण करेंगे।

वाट्सएप ने एक बयान में कहा, 'कंपनी कैलिफोर्निया के बाहर एक टीम बना रही है। इसी कड़ी में हमने भारत में पहला कंट्री हेड नियुक्त किया है। कैलिफोर्निया से बाहर पहला ऑफिस गुरुग्राम में होगा और अभिजीत बोस पहले हेड होंगे। अभिजीत एक सफल इंटरप्रेन्योर हैं। उन्हें पता है कि भारत में पार्टनरशिप के जरिए वाट्सएप के बिजनेस को किस प्रकार बढ़ा सकते हैं।'

वाट्सएप के चीफ ऑपरेटिंग ऑफिसर मैट आईडेमा ने कहा, 'वाट्सएप भारत के साथ अपने रिलेशन को लेकर कमिटेड है। हम ऐसे प्रोडक्ट बनाना चाहते हैं, जो कि भारत के डिजिटल इकोनॉमी को सपोर्ट कर सके और लोगों से कनेक्ट हो सके। हम चाहते हैं कि वाट्सएप भी भारत में इकोनॉमिक ग्रोथ में मदद कर सके। वाट्सएप ऐसा करने में सक्षम है और हम इसकी शुरूआत भारत से करना चाहते हैं।'

बता दें कि बोस इससे पहले ई-पेमेंट कंपनी ईजटैप में काम कर चुके हैं। वह ईजटैप के CEO और फाउंडर मेंबर हैं। बोस ने ईजटैप की शुरुआत 2011 में की थी। बोस ने अपना ग्रेजुएशन हार्वर्ड बिजनेस स्कूल और कॉर्नेल यूनिवर्सिटी से किया है। वहीं ईजटैप के चीफ फाइनेंशियल ऑफिसर बाईस नंबिसन अभिजीत की जगह ईजटैप कंपनी के नए CEO होंगे। Source: Bhaskarhindi.com
