I'm really great at creative writing and absolutely horrible at expository writing.
I've been trying to get better at expository since junior high and it feels like I haven't gotten any better :(

The iPad Kid In Question
In today's generation, the concept of "iPad kids" has gained popularity as a meme and cultural reference. It represents a generation of youngsters who have grown up surrounded by technology, specifically tablets like the iPad. It was an ongoing meme that can be coined as an insult that led me to deny that I am not an iPad kid. However, with how I deal with everyday life, I’ve realized that I cannot live without it. The iPad has played an important role in my life, especially in my academics and leisure activities.
Do I need my traditional nursing books? No, I have already downloaded them to my note-taking app (Goodnotes). I do not need to bring my thick nursing books to school because I have everything downloaded on my iPad. Do I need to bring tons of notebooks or pad paper when note-taking during lectures? No, I do not need to because I have a handy dandy iPad with me when I go to school.
One of the most significant advantages of utilizing an iPad for taking notes is its portability. iPads are lightweight and compact, allowing me to easily carry them wherever I go. Whether in a classroom, group meeting, or coffee shop, the iPad offers a convenient device for taking notes on the go without the need for heavy notebooks or stacks of paper. iPads also save notes digitally, removing the need for physical storage and minimizing clutter. I do not need to be stressed whenever I cannot find a certain reviewer of mine that I need to use to study for a quiz the next day. Moreover, I can organize my notes into folders, categories, or tags, making it simple to find specific information quickly and therefore saving me time and effort.
Aside from note-taking and storing my books, I can access a lot more websites and apps that are needed for my academic requirements. Apps like Quizlet and Anki, which I use for reviewing, especially for active recall and spaced repetitions, allow me to create custom flashcards using text, graphics, music, and even mathematical equations that fit my learning style. They include multimedia features to improve my retention. These kinds of apps are really helpful for me since nursing is a course that demands a lot of memorization of different concepts. They are my lifesaver when memorizing key terms, medical terminology, anatomy, pharmacology, and other nursing concepts.
Canva is also an app that helps me survive school, and without it, my non-creative self cannot live in the academic realm wherein creativity is a required skill in creating and finishing schoolwork. The ready-made presentations, infographics, posters, and other forms of media help me meet school deadlines. I still tweak its design, but the fact that there is a template that I can use as a guide makes me more productive. Regardless of background or expertise, a person can create graphic designs using the straightforward drag-and-drop interface and pre-designed templates of Canva.
Another app that is helpful in terms of video editing because of how accessible it is and easy to navigate is Capcut. It is an app that both my iPad and phone can access, making video editing for school tasks easier than before. The interface is well-organized, with tools and features that are easy to access and use, allowing me to efficiently edit videos without being overwhelmed by complex settings. CapCut provides a comprehensive range of editing tools and features that allow me to modify and enhance videos based on my preferences and the requirements of my subjects. When I was in high school, I needed to borrow my mother’s laptop to edit in a built-in video editing app that was hard to navigate because of its technicality and complicated interface. But with this particular app, I can finish my work within a small amount of time, which I can say is perfect for a student who crams video-type projects.
Google apps like Google Meet, Google Slides, Sheets, Drawings, and most especially Google Docs, have made my life easier. With just having a Gmail account, I can access my documents on all of my devices. If I forget to add something to my document and I already closed my laptop, I can use my iPad or phone to add more information to my paper without the need to assemble my laptop, especially when I’m already lying down in bed ready to sleep. If there is an urgent need to revise my work but I’m out of the house and do not have my laptop with me, I can use my iPad or even my phone and edit it through the Google apps. With an Internet connection, these apps or websites bring convenience and accessibility wherever I go or whatever circumstances I have.
Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides also allow multiple users to work on the same document at once. This real-time collaboration function is especially useful for group projects, team meetings, and collaborative writing assignments. I can monitor changes and updates in real-time, thereby facilitating seamless communication and workflow efficiency. I also consider this a lifesaver to pinpoint my groupmates who have been neglecting group tasks and monitoring their contributions.
Moreover, the nerve-wracking experience of accidentally deleting one’s document is devastating and something I do not like to experience again. Google Apps are a lifesaver again in this aspect because they automatically save versions of documents, allowing me to track changes, return to previous versions, and discover who made specific modifications.
Last but not least, my favorite feature of the iPad is its size and how I can watch series and movies on a larger screen. I do not like the hassle of turning on my TV or my laptop, both of which I cannot bring to my bed whenever I need to rest. With the iPad, there is unlimited access to watching shows while lying comfortably in my bed. I have access to a vast library of movies, TV shows, documentaries, and original content, allowing me to explore a world of entertainment possibilities at any time and from any location. On top of that, I find it difficult to refrain from eating without watching something on my iPad. This behavior perfectly aligns with the concept of an 'iPad kid,' someone who eats while using their iPad. It is essential for me when I eat since if I do not distract myself through watching videos, I tend to eat too fast, therefore not being able to chew my food well.
Besides what I've mentioned above, the iPad's multitasking capabilities also enable me to view videos while also browsing the web, reading emails, or taking notes. Picture-in-Picture mode allows me to minimize the video player and continue watching content while using other programs, thereby increasing my productivity and multitasking effectiveness. I particularly enjoy this feature when I just need white noise or background noise whenever I need to finish something that does not require too much work or concentration. In addition, this feature is also useful whenever I need to write down notes during my online classes.
"my lifesaver"
My phone and laptop have features and strengths that I use depending on what I need, but my iPad is a mixture of them. With the help of my Apple Pencil, offers versatile features that make my life more productive. The iPad's combination of features and characteristics provides versatility and adaptation to various demands and preferences. Whether I use it for work, play, education, or creativity, the iPad is a versatile platform that adapts to my changing needs and lifestyle. At this point, I can say that I’ve already achieved a return on investment, or ROI, with my iPad.
A phrase that can describe the technology, in general, is ‘my lifesaver’. Throughout my narrative, I cannot count how many times I mentioned that phrase because indeed, these smart devices, digital services, and software applications offer convenience and accessibility that make life easier. They provide unprecedented convenience and accessibility in our daily lives. Whether it's ordering food online, booking transportation, or operating smart home gadgets with voice commands, technology makes tasks and routines easier, saving time and effort. As we manage the complicated aspects of modern life, technology is our constant friend, allowing us to prosper in an ever-changing digital landscape.

What is Expository Writing? Definition, Traits, & Examples
One of the terms you hear thrown around in writing seminars is expository writing, but what does it really mean? Explaining, describing, or informing is the fundamental goal of expository writing.
In contrast to persuasive writing, which aims to persuade the reader of a specific point of view, expository writing is primarily concerned with objectively and clearly presenting facts and data.
Why then is it crucial to comprehend expository writing? Well, learning this style can greatly improve your capacity to convey information clearly, whether you’re writing an instruction manual, a news piece, or an essay for school.
What is Expository Writing?
Let’s dissect the word explanatory writing so that you may fully understand the concept. The term “expository” is derived from the verb “expose,” which means to make anything clear or obvious.
This translates into writing in a clear, logical manner by presenting the facts or providing an explanation of an idea. Expository writing’s main goal is to educate the reader by providing facts succinctly and clearly, without any superfluous detail or filler....Continue reading

My Tech Norms
In the hustle and bustle of today's fast-paced world, I've found my unique way of navigating life: embracing technology with open arms. I'm an 18-year-old college student studying medical technology in the vibrant and humid city of Metro Manila, Philippines. But I'm also a tech enthusiast who believes that blending modern innovation with our daily lives can lead to exciting and meaningful experiences.
In this corner of the internet, I invite you to join me on a journey where I'll be sharing my lifestyle, one that's deeply intertwined with the wonders of technology. As I tread the path of medical studies and the digital age, I've discovered how technology can enhance our lives. Whether by streamlining our routines, connecting us with people worldwide, or adding a touch of convenience to our everyday existence.
But beyond the gadgets and gizmos, there's a story behind each technological choice I make: a purpose that journeys beyond the screen. I'm here to show you that technology isn't just about the latest trends; it's about how we can craft a lifestyle that reflects who we are and what we value with the countless applications and services readily available to us.
Welcome to my world—where lifestyle meets technology with a purpose.
To start things off, I'll share my understanding of technology. Technology is artificial virtual products that can manifest physically through vision, hearing, and touch. They can come in various shapes and sizes with different purposes and impacts.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I stand by that saying, and to help set a positive and energetic mood for the rest of the day, I complement my breakfast with music. I reside with my family of five, and our place isn't spacious. Therefore, I keep to myself with my earphones to avoid making unnecessary noise.
I mainly stream my music with Spotify. Thankfully, they have a student subscription discount for only PHP75 a month. So, I can listen to my music all day. To top it off, with Spotify's AI DJ, I can never have a dull listening experience.
After breakfast comes my studies. I am a MedTech student at CEU Manila, where the learning modality is hybrid. The mode of instruction is predominantly online through CEU LEAPS. It is from the Canvas infrastructure.
Canvas is a cloud-based learning management system (LMS) developed by Instructure. The service caters to more than 10,000 educational institutions around the globe for both online and hybrid learning modes. Canvas also uses several third-party services, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), to provide additional features and functionality.
And like how I complement my music experience with an AI DJ, I also partner my studies with what I see as an improved Google search, the new Google Bard. It can assist me with fetching many specific data I may need. My favorite feature would probably be its native Google Drive PDF/Document searching, allowing me to delve into my notes and reference my old works.
Apart from my online studies are my on-site laboratory classes. I often need hard copies of lab worksheets, and that's when my handy printer saves the day. I am blessed to have been able to afford one. It comes with a handy scanner. Conveniently, the printer can be accessed remotely through the EPSON iPrint App.
While on the topic of face-to-face classes, my favourite transport service app is Angkas. The app is the cleanest and most straightforward among those I've tried. When you open the app, you are met with the previous service you've availed. In my case, choosing my pick-up and drop-off points for their Angkas Passenger service is always at the forefront.
Another app I very much appreciate when going out is the Weather app on my phone. It provides a handy widget, allowing me to view the weather for the day at a glance on my home screen.
I hope you've enjoyed this glimpse into my tech-infused lifestyle as a medical technology student here in Metro Manila. As I continue to explore the ever-evolving world of technology, I'm reminded of a quote by Marc Benioff: "In the world of technology, the only constant is change." I hope this opportunity to share my modern instruments of self-improvement and expression inspires your tech life! Let's continue improving alongside our tech.

What is it about Warriors writing that feels so clunky and unnatural. Is it how expository it is, there’s for sure something wrong with the prose that makes reading these books a total slog to go through. There’s always something that they need to emphasize that doesn’t need emphasizing at all.
Say we have a scene where one of the characters notices MothWing still mourning HawkFrost a while after his death, with clear acknowledgement from the audience of the time skip: It’s never “MothWing felt a stabbing pain in her heart for HawkFrost” it’s always “MothWing, even after several moons, felt a stabbing pain in her heart for HawkFrost, her brother”
#blimbo rambles#wc#I really need to read other books because it’s likely that this same prose is present in other books#but I don’t really care for this expository/informative way of writing very much#especially if it’s done all the time#although to be fair it’s been a hot second since I’ve picked up one of these books so maaaybe it’s better?

Canon vs. Not At All Canon
T: "Look, I did a terrible thing, but I swear I'm not a terrible person."
W: "... Did you think I'd judge you over some lousy prank? I would've taken it further."
T: "You mean like putting piranhas in a swimming pool? I may have done a little digging on you after we met."
W: "I'd do it again."
T: "I knew there was a reason I liked you."
vs.
T: "I did a terrible thing. But I'm trying not to be a terrible person."
W: "I believe that people can change if they want to. And that the worst choices we make shouldn't define us."
T: "You mean like putting piranhas in a swimming pool? I may have done a little digging on you after we met."
W: "That's not the worst choice I've made. In fact, I feel no remorse about it whatsoever."
T: "I knew there was a reason I liked you."
Also completely decimated: She danced to the Cramps with him (or around him LOL), THEN had the conversation with Bianca, whose eyes were red from crying about her tiff with Xavier because he asked her to siren song him during the Cramps dance.
In this load of revisionist garbage, right after the conversation with Tyler, there is superficial talk about W being tired of the music, THEN encountering Bianca, THEN dancing to the Cramps but with NO indication that Tyler is even the focus of her dance (which he is...I may hate Wyler/Tyler, but he is very clearly her focus during "The Goo Goo Muck")...but there's thought to Enid, who in canon is nowhere near her and is dancing to the Cramps with the REAL lesbians who came together (Divina and Yoko). And then this:
Mejia literally stole the moment that Wyler had in the above .gifs. Stole it and replaced it with fanon-friendly things that never happened, and in the whole process fucked up the sequence of events to make it all nonsensical re: Xavier and Bianca's argument, since Xavier asked B to do it because he watched Wednesday dance with the fucker who assaulted him and destroyed his mural (which he had JUST told her about, prior to Wyler's above convo).
Oh, and let's not forget about the deletion of Xavier's assault altogether.

Whumperless Whump Event Day 12: Building collapse | Trapped under rubble | “I can’t move my legs.”
OCs: Haley, Halcyon, Ria
CW: nothing major, i think
@whumperless-whump-event
It was supposed to be a safe trip. He was supposed to leave her near a less-dilapidated building, then head to the more affected areas to assess the damage that needed to be fixed. She wasn’t meant to come. She wasn’t meant to warn him or happen upon a poorly-adjusted foundation.
He took the brunt of the damage for her.
Haley groaned, every part of his body aching. He could not see the extent of her injuries without a source of brightness, but she could at least position herself to be more comfortable and talk normally. He, on the other hand, was quite trapped.
He took a deep breath, spending a moment to check over his ability to move. It wasn’t the worst injury he ever had. His legs weren’t even crushed, just lodged in a tight space. At a single glance, he could tell those rocks were the only thing supporting the rubble from crashing down on them.
“Ria. I am…unable to move my legs, so you need to escape and get help first.”
“How? How do I…you…” Ah. She’s breathing heavily. If it continued, they would easily run out of oxygen and perish. Not the best way to go, nor heroic either. Not fitting for her.
“Breathe. The building was small enough, and it was a single part of it that crumbled. There will be an exit.” A little lie wouldn’t hurt right now. He squinted, examining the wreckage. A crack of light shines, though miniscule, but it was more than enough for him. “Behind you. Dig there. Be careful not to get hurt.”
Her hands were trembling. Was it nervousness or his blood loss? Still, she finds the location and gently lifts each rock, placing it by the side and repeating the action. It’s a long process, one that was much too worrying.
After what felt like forever, it was small enough to squeeze through. She crawled out, sprinted off, and was gone.
She’s safe. Nothing mattered more than that.
Something heavy makes contact with his skull. He kept his eyes open for her until exhaustion overwhelmed his senses, dragging him back into darkness.
—————
Ria was a coward. Put on a brave face, but when it came to life or death, she’d run away any minute. She never even asked if he was unhurt, or tried to get him out. She had to get help. The rest of the building could have collapsed right down on him, right now, and once again she would be powerless to do anything herself.
She needed to get help first. That’s what he instructed her to do. If none of the eyes around her even bothered to come out and help, then she would find someone who would.
She runs. But she isn’t running away.
She meets the stranger once more, clad in armor and with that horrible concerned expression on her face. The stranger told her she was crying. She hadn’t even noticed. A sign of weakness, now? No, she had to be stronger.
“…Where is your caretaker?” The knight asks. She helped her before, ever the kind person in a world of people who wouldn’t see what she saw. The only good adult she knew. Ria takes her hand, even if her palm was merely half that size, and leads her forward, striding the streets.
The knight calls for more assistance not a second after turning the corner.
She never looked back just now, never checked just how much damage there was. The building in front of her was nothing but dust and rubble. He never told the truth to her, and sounded so confident in her as well.
She was scrabbling at the rocks before anyone else even came close to stopping her, calling his name until her voice became hoarse. The hole she made had disappeared. No response. The woman squats beside her and starts lifting the heavier rocks, gesturing for others to help.
Ria sees the blood before the colour of his scarf, running in rivulets down his forehead. His arm twists unnaturally; the arm he must have used to try and shield her. There are so many things wrong with the situation she doesn’t even know which part to start panicking about.
Her gaze shifts to his chest, rising and falling unsteadily. He’s breathing, he’s going to be alright. The woman beside her mutters absently that it might as well be a miracle, even as her attempts to garner reaction from him don’t make him shift in the slightest.
Miracle. She doesn’t even know what that word means. She would have pestered Haley to ask about it, the stupid, stupid man who was so smart and strong, who could fight easier than breathing, who knew how to get her out before she met the same fate as him; near-dead and gut-wrenchingly helpless to his own plight.
If this was what ‘protecting’ was, she realises, then, that she’d have done the same in a heartbeat. He wouldn’t have wanted that, but even so, she always had that same kind of stubbornness in her.

After Shadowheart walks away, Aylin and Rakha are left just standing there staring at each other awkwardly.
Aylin's eyes narrow, suddenly attentive, and she leans forward a little. "There you are," she says briskly. "I have awaited you arrival with great anticipation. Come closer."
Rakha has been standing several arms' lengths away from Aylin, and even further from Isobel; even now the beast urge in her head wants them dead, and it is a visceral struggle not to give it the upper hand. There is no way Aylin has not noticed it - either the distance, or the threat.
But she invites Rakha closer anyway. An expression of trust, of friendship? Or a pre-emptive trap?
Rakha shifts warily, her eyes narrowing.
Stay back, ready to defend yourself.
To her surprise - Aylin smiles faintly. "Ho! Surely you cannot fear me," she says, with a distinct note of dry humor. "You who have fought beside me in the war against damned Ketheric Thorm?"
The unspoken message is clear. It is you who threatens, not I. But I am not frightened of you. It is still difficult to tell, though, whether that lack of fear is from trust - or simply because she does not believe Rakha could hurt her.
Rakha hesitates, then nods slowly.
Step closer.
She moves to just within Aylin's reach and then stops again. Her hands clench behind her back as she battles back a low, hungry growl in her head.
Aylin smiles fiercely, her fists clenching, her arms lifting. "Feel my voice rattle your bones as I proclaim our victory!" she cries. "Moonmaiden, Selune, hear me!" Her voice lifts into the trees overhanging the camp, past them into the still-muddled sky. "Ketheric Thorm, traitor, Apostle of Myrkul is dead at last! My mate most high - darling Isobel - is safe and well! Safe and well and returned to my embrace!"
She thumps a gauntleted hand against her chest - then drops her eyes to Rakha's again. There is none of the glowing fire in them that Rakha has seen before - but her gaze is just as intense. "Blessings upon the slayer of the wicked one!"
It takes Rakha a moment to realize that Aylin means her. That she is offering Rakha a blessing.
She does not know how broken I am.
She flinches back a little from the offered gift, looks around curiously, half-expecting some bolt of light to crash down in answer to Aylin's invocation. But nothing happens - neither blessing nor curse.
"Where's the silver light?" she asks cautiously. "The... moon-magic?"
Aylin shakes her head, amused as if at a child's thoughtless question. "Listen to the subtle vibrations of the Moonmaiden thumping within your heart-chambers, friend," she says gravely. "She works her magic there."
Rakha hesitates, focuses inward, feeling around for the vibrations Aylin describes. Certainly she can sense something of Aylin's own magic - the pale shimmer of white-gold light on her skin, over her armor. But if there is any blessing that has penetrated into her own heart... she doesn't feel it. Perhaps it is too subtle for her, or perhaps too drowned out by the beast's growling.
A pity. She would have welcomed Selune's peace if it was to be offered to her. But she knows nothing more of that goddess than any other.
Aylin watches her thoughtfully. "My darling Isobel says we will stay allied at your side," she goes on after a little while - more conversationally, but even in conversation her voice resonates like an invocation. "I am pleased to hear it."
Rakha frowns slightly. She knows, intellectually, that Aylin and Isobel are both powerful allies of the sort that the Guardian told her to gather. But every moment they are in camp is an invitation for Rakha to slip, to kill... for the beast in her head still wants the blood of these Selunites beyond any other.
On the other hand... she suspects Aylin's pleasure at being here is genuine. And it is, in that case, an expression of trust after all - one even more serious than the one Jaheira offered her. Because Aylin, Rakha is quite sure, knows perfectly well that Rakha is violent, dangerous, angry - and she is shrugging it aside.
She smiles faintly - not sure herself if the expression is sincere or sardonic. "There's still a great deal about you I don't know," she says curtly. And you don't know about me.
Aylin quirks up an eyebrow calmly. "Pray, ask, and I will tell."
Rakha considers for a moment. Whether Aylin realizes it or not, this is another peace offering - an invitation to ask and to receive answers. "Are you really Selune's daughter?" she asks.
"Do I not radiate with my mother's brightness? Her glory?" Aylin says promptly. "There can be no doubt. I am of her silvered flesh, her celestial womb!"
Rakha blinks several times as she processes slowly through this sentence. It's like talking to Gale, if Gale were the child of a god instead of an ex-lover. "Would your mother be willing to aid us?" she asks doubtfully. "In the fight against the Dead Three?"
"Why, she already has!" Aylin crows. "She has brought her sword to your side. Dame Aylin! So mighty are her wonders, her great wisdom. Together we will set this fair land free of tyranny and murder."
Another slow blink from Rakha. She knows very little of gods beyond what she has heard from her companions - but this seems a strange interpretation of events. Aylin is here because she was trapped in the Shadowfell for a century. And it was her and her companions that released her, not Selune. If the goddess orchestrated this, it seems a cruel way to have gone about it.
"How did you come to be trapped in the Shadowfell?" she asks slowly.
Aylin's face twists suddenly with anger and grief at the memory. "Mm. Ketheric Thorm," she growls. "Father of my one and only love. Enslaver of Dame Aylin." She laughs bitterly. "Ketheric Thorm never did trust me, even when he worshiped the Moonmaiden. He was threatened by my love for Isobel, by her love for me. When she died - curse the day, the hour! - we each of us mourned bitterly. But Ketheric's pain could be touched by no aid, no boundary."
She leans forward, her jaw working with muted rage. "He turned to wretched Shar, the Lady of Loss, for relief. And she whispered into his ear, poisoning his mind. He and his loathsome advisor, Balthazar, lured me into the Shadowfell, claimed they'd found someone in need of my aid. There they trapped me in their infernal cage."
Her head twitches, a flinch away from an unseen blow. "I was killed, murdered, made dead, over and over and over by Justiciars of every make and kind. I was reborn, for it is my nature. And Ketheric fed upon my immortality all the while."
Her eyes flare suddenly, and her lips curl in a brutal, ferocious smile. "But lo - the brute is dead! And we- we live!"
Memory slaps through Rakha - unbidden flashes first unearthed in that pit below Moonrise. A knife in the hand of Kressa Bonedaughter, stabbing down into Rakha's torso, slicing her open, again, and again, and again. Opening her up, tearing her apart, exploring every inch of her and finding with each moment a new agony to evoke. That mad gleam of possessive ardor in her eyes as she sewed Rakha closed, only for the pleasure of once again ripping her open.
She swallows, squeezes her eyes shut. The beast's rage at Aylin is tangling with something more complicated. Camaraderie? Understanding? Her head aches like there's a knife in it and her heart pumps a steady pulse in her temple.
They have both been tortured, both fought together and destroyed Ketheric and Kressa both. Perhaps, despite the pain, it will be good to fight together again, when they find the others that need killing.
But lo, the brute is dead. And we... we live...
#bjk plays bg3 durge#rakha the dark urge#ok kinda pleased with this one#these more expository conversations are always a bit hit or miss in whether they'll be interesting to write about#but i kinda like some of the notes here#i'm absolutely adding way more subtext than the game intends :P#but whatever#it works

Okay I know I’m late to the party, but I’ve just gotta get this outta my system. I’ve been watching Miraculous Ladybug Season 5 and I just finished the episode where Lila tries to frame Marionette for foraging all the class’ portfolios (or whatever they’re called) and it’s just a reminder of how shit of character Lila is. Not necessarily because she’s an awful person, but because she’s horribly written.
I understand that Miraculous is a kid’s show but that doesn’t mean everyone constantly has to be a moron. Like, every time Lila spins a lie the writing surrounding her just completely dumbs down. She isn’t even that necessary as a character. I think the only reason she’s kept around is so she can become the next Hawkmoth (if this is revealed in the last few episodes, don’t tell me), given Bunnix & that one-time traveling villain talking about the Hawkmoth of the future.
Anyways, it’s just annoying how everyone believes her for no good reason. Like, for example, that episode where she’s calling from the Middle East because she’s visiting Prince Ali. Nobody questions the fact that nothing is moving in the background, like no birds no clouds, lighting, people, nothing, nor the lack of visual depth. Because human eyes can tell when something is flat or not (usually). Also, an orange lamp? Really? What is this, a Hollywood movie of the Middle East or any “desert” place?
Then you have Alya refusing to believe Marionette about Lila. Like yes, you shouldn’t just take people’s word for things but once it gets to the point where someone else is also agreeing, aka Adrien and you still refuse to believe them that’s on you. Not to mention, conveniently, Adrien just doesn’t talk about the time when he talked to Lila to ensure she unspins her lies about Marionette pushing her down the stairs. On top of that, she literally said she has a disorder that makes her lie. SHE LITERALLY ADMITTED TO RANDOMLY LYING (even if though that was a lie too other people don’t know that). So even if she “doesn’t mean to” that at least means she compulsively lies and can’t control it.
I also just hate how Alya says it’s cute that Adrien is standing up for his girl instead of considering the fact that he’s just telling the truth. Adrien is someone who tried to see good in even Chloe and now he’s speaking ill of another person, for love or not, that is not in his nature to do and yet they still don’t take either of them seriously (he was in love with Ladybug and she made it pretty clear she didn’t like Chloe and yet he still defended her). It was also very infantilizing towards Marionette. (Also the fact that she just conveniently forgot about the fact that Lila lied about being friends with Ladybug even though she knows Marionette hates her is just pathetic)
Then there’s the fact that, even though Marionette is apparently so busy with her love life and other things, she has the time to not only rewrite but take the time to learn the handwriting of about 16 students. And do it in like a day or two, given she was doing it out of spite for not being picked to be the class rep. Unlike Lila, Marionette has plenty of history to prove her good nature. None of them actually know Lila other than for the things she tells them she does. Like sure, maybe she convinces some of the class but the ENTIRE class. Many of which have always believed in Marionette’s good nature (namely Rose & Mylene).
It pisses me off how Ms. Bustier also tried to send Chloe & Lila to go comfort Sabrina after all of them watched her have a literal breakdown saying it was those exact two that made her do it. And it’s obvious it was just so they could catch their conversation in the bathroom (which, not to mention, is strange it has a two sided mirror into the girls bathroom. I get it was to get proof, but that’s still weird). But then there’s the fact no one turned on those two when they not only watched Sabrina breakdown and turn against Chloe, her literal best-friend and master, but also watch Lila not try to comfort her at ALL, only continuing to try and turn it against Marionette in this honeyed tone. Like it’s just ridiculous (utterly) how much they twist the writing to make sure Lila gets away with her lying even though if they took like two seconds to add Adrien telling his story or someone else having common sense they never would’ve believed her.
I know I am overthinking a kid’s show, you do not have to tell me 💀 trust me I am fully aware.

Me, happily writing the next chapter of TNA 😌
Finishes the two plot points I had planned
Mfw the chapter is 1,000 words shorter than I hoped 🥲
Welp, I guess it's time to reword things and hope to squeeze a couple hundred words out of editing it!
#raccoons rambles#i'm fiiine!#the problem is i don't want it to be too expository#which is tricky when i'm introducing a new lore thing#why can't i make my blorbos just kiss already?!#sorry i swear i'm okay#just tired and writing is hard when i'm tired lol#gonna take a bit of a brain break#maybe play some stardew or work on a writing request#how's your day going? :D

in the latest wwaitsoatl chapter eda spends a truly staggering amount of time shouting at darius over a misconception he could fix with approximately 2 sentences at literally any time. you may be wondering, was this the author using a contrived miscommunication device to inflict maximum drama?? and the answer, surprisingly, is No. the author fully wrote this chapter two entire times Before the published version.... to try to get them to communicate sooner. and with literally every single one i was like.
yeah okay. no self-respecting darius OR eda fan would buy this. Back To The Drawing Board
#the idea that eda would stop yelling long enough for darius to actually use his words. we all watched eda's requiem#I GENUINELY DID TRY TO WRITE A VERSION WHERE IT WAS EXPOSITORY AND CONSTRUCTIVE WITHOUT THEM MAULING EACH OTHER#AND I COULDNT MAKE IT WORKKKK#darius and eda being the exact same type of dramatic theater bitch like girl if you dont type paragraph-long monologues we're ooc#counted up the time spent on this chapter btw including all scrapped drafts. 33 hours.#this is the product of an entire-ass capitalist work week#toh#wwaitsoatl

some random road to hell au worldbuilding that i dont know how to seamlessly integrate into the actual fics themselves so have this Lore Dump instead:
magic is a force of nature in the world of road to hell. everything is affected by it, and everything either creates or consumes it. most typical humans are unable to tangibly affect or channel magic, but they generate enough to sustain themselves. there are a few very rare individuals who can completely nullify magic in the space around them and are unable to be harmed or helped by it (called voids, nulls, or suppressors interchangeably)
magical creatures can use magic in specific, very limited ways. for example: werewolves use it to shift between their human and wolf forms. vampires can no longer make enough magic on their own to sustain themselves, and therefore have to consume blood from others to supply it. fae have a more broad range of magical skills, but most lesser fae are confined to things like glamours, mild enchantments, etc. a limited amount of magic remains in their corpses after death, which means that there is unfortunately a lot of black market trade around things like werewolf claws, vampire fangs, fae bones, etc.
"mythicals" aka dragons, phoenixes, court fae, etc, generate enough magical energy that they can do incredible feats. its how soap was able to hide himself from typical military magical checks, and how farah can heal herself and others. its a double edged sword, though. this means that even after death, mythical creatures' bodies still contain a MASSIVE amount of magical power, and that magical power can be used and abused in very creative ways.
there are also three main schools of magical humans (they're not quite human, but not quite creature so they dont really apply to either category but no one knows where to put them: witches, sorcerers, and wizards
witches can only use magic through living things. they dont have to be living anymore, mind you, but they use things like blood, bone, plants, etc for their magic. sorcerers, on the other hand, channel their magic through inanimate objects. often they have a specialization - stone, metal, or wood are the most common - but anything inanimate is fair game. some skilled sorcerers can even use electronics as a channeling device. the last type, wizards, are the most rare. they pull magic straight from the source without any need for a third party conduit. as such, they are incredibly powerful but highly volatile and were often either hunted or contained
#road to hell au#i love worldbuilding its so fun#but i cant put everything into fics because it wont work and i hate writing expository infodumps like that lol#so have this instead!#and for anyone who cares: cash is a void mickey is a witch zora is a sorcerer and ross is a wizard#part of the reason they were recruited into the hounds was because they were incredibly adept at magic use#or in cash's case suppressing magic use#i already showed that lia is a werewolf and crowne is a werecat#larkin is a boring old human but we can forgive him for that because hes trying his best lol

the “you want battle? I’ll give you war.” Line feels so clunky just add an “a” in there so it doesn’t make clearsky sound like a caveman in his thoughts
#blimbo rambles#wc#I mean to be fair a good chunk of warrior cats dialogue feels clunky#I’d say it’s just the outcome of a bunch of authors who love heavily expository writing
