i started a goal over on my ko-fi to help fund the inline skates that i want so that i can keep practicing over the summer while my rink is closed! the goal will cover the skates and any additional gear i need, such as knee pads and whatnot. so from now until the goal is met, any tips will go toward helping me live my ice skating fantasy ⛸️❄️ and any help is appreciated!
#i don’t usually do this kind of stuff but i somehow ended up in a very expensive sport aahhhh#and i don’t want to grab just any ole inlines because my main focus is ice skating and these are made for simulating that off ice#plus these are the same brand as my current boots and hopefully the feel will be similar#also boosting is especially appreciated#might have to open more commissions after this current round too

my problem is that im very good at keeping track of money and expenses but “buying food” and “buying craft and road trip stuff” don’t seem to register in the Youre Spending Money category in my brain so I go alright water bill is higher this month gas is paid I get my paycheck Friday ok now why is there one hundred dollars missing. (I bought a con ticket, 3 yards of fabric, and ingredients for black bean burgers + beef bao)

On a financial level I KNOW I'm going to regret this, but I bought tickets for both pairs events and the women's free skate in Milan. As soon as I see Deanna and Max step on that ice I will be in tears. And it will all be worth it.

Why do I need a job why can't I just take art lessons and baking lessons and scuba diving lessons and piano lessons and figure skating lessons and woodworking lessons and bushcrafting lessons and pottery lessons and horse riding lessons and sailing lessons and archery lessons and foreign language lessons and climbing lessons and welding lessons and fencing lessons and cooking lessons until I die?
#these are all classes I have taken or wanted to take at some point lol#I just want to max out as many stats as possible is that too much to ask?#I contacted an ice skating club about lessons but they're full#which is probably for the best bc figure skating is expensive#also their adult lessons are on 7 am on saturdays W H Y#but a friend and I agreed to take scuba diving lessons together so I'm going to see about starting those in january or February#the club I want to join lets you borrow equipment for free in the first year#so I can hopefully get a bunch of qualifications without too much investment#personal#my posts

2025 i might take a class so i can do something that isn't just school. hockey or jiu jitsu vote now on yr phones!
#hockey pros: i already watch hockey like every day. can already skate. there's a group of young women that play and we can hang out#hockey cons: HOOOLY FUCKING SHIT THE EQUIPMENT IS SO EXPENSIVE. also no way a hockey bag and swim bag are fitting in my car#or my house for that matter..#jiu jitsu pros: tried it once and had a good time. good at grappling because i have a little brother.#one time in like 7th grade i actually pinned my girlfriend at the time after taking 1 class. which was formative for sure#jiu jitsu cons: more regular commitment. idk if there's anyone in my age group. literally don't know how it works.#and if there's no one in my age group i can assure you there's no one in a different group hyped to get beat by a random butch 17 y/o#i'll do hockey if my brother has hand me down (up?) equipment#but i'll do jiu jitsu if i talk to anyone about this and they think it would make me look tough#i'm really shallow in that way

If you became super rich and could design your own house, but could only add THREE unnecessary/random/expensive home additions (like how people will have bowling alleys, movie theatres, closets with museums of shoes, car display rooms, spa rooms, wine cellars, etc. in their mansions) - what three would you choose?
#I think I would have: an indoor pool (but like heavily customized with a faux weather system so I could get the feeling of swimming in#rain or fog or snow etc.). a very small arcade consisting only of skee-ball and DDR machines. and an old Library Room with authentic#historical furniture/interior design to store old books/tapestries/study room equipment/whatever other antiques I'd collect. It'd be#like some fully intricate movie set or something that would feel completely like stepping into another world/time.#Though I might would trade out the arcade for a roller skating rink.. i DO love skating....#And I wouldve put rock climbing gym because I love indoor rock climbing but.. as I understand it they have to change out the rock things#on the walls every once in a while so that you can have new routes and it doesnt get boring. and I'd rather have an activty room thats like#self sustaining and doesnt require me to hire some person to come switch things around once every month. Otherwise I would#totally do that instead.#I'm also personally not counting ''craft'' type stuff like having a pottery room kiln sort of thing because#that doesn't count as 'unnessecary' to me. since stuff like that would not at all be just a hobby I 'happen to#do sometimes for fun'#but would definitely be a career sort of thing. Like if I had the money for a fully stocked sculpture room and and a sewing room#with a good machine and etc. then I would literally be professionally selling pottery and designing clothing and etc.#so I wouldn't count it as 'just a random side room I dont need' etc.#The same way that if I played tennis professionally or as a very intense hobby that takes up most of my life/time#then I wouldn't count having a tennis court in your house to practice in as 'unncesscarry' etc.#wow that is the worst I have ever spelt that word ghbjh#Un Cess Carry#ALSO would obviously have an underground bunker of some sort with food and emergency supplies which also does not count as unnecessary to m#since it's literally like... survival.. And I thought most health organizations literally reccomend that even#the common person has a small 'go bag' prepared in their house. and like an evacuation plan in case of fire or other things#It WOULD be an unnecessary rich person thing to have a full on undergRound village or something stocked with 9000 guns and#whaetever. but I think just a basic emergency room with basic supplies could still be counted under the 'not unnecessary' requirement.#Like I would say that a sprawling courtyard of flower gardens and fountains and hedge mazes that takes up like a hundred thousand#dollars a year in maintenance would count as one of the three 'unnecessary and expensive' things. But having a small garden in the#back yard with a few planters in a little greenhouse or whatever would not. The 'excessiveness' of the thing matters lol#ANYWAY!!!#Just curious what other peoples Three Main things would be... hrrmm
