Time for a grand entrance of Shuichi and Himiko!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really hope this goes well Hajime.
Tumblr media
Of course it would, we are the classic tag team Chiaki!
Tumblr media
*Ahem*
Tumblr media
Oh right...forgot Makoto and Kyoko were first.
Tumblr media
It probably doesn't help we are less represented in askblogs then you two.
Tumblr media
Though I wonder who Shuichi is bringing.
Tumblr media
Yeah I'm curious too...after all he would normally bring Kaede but since she's one of the performers, he's forced to go with someone else.
Tumblr media
At least its not Ouma due to him being stuck with Nagito at the moment.
Tumblr media
Well whoever he brings over its probably gonna a modest-
*Suddenly a blinding light fills the area as a starry glowing broomstick flies in with a certain pair on top of it, it makes a circuit around the sector and then comes to a stop near the canon protagonists, while Shuichi and Himiko step off it*
Tumblr media
Make way for the Ultimate Mage and her dance partner everyone!
Tumblr media
Hi guys....quite a entrance now was it.
Tumblr media
I thought Yumeno didn't possess real magic like Sannoji so how did she...
Tumblr media
Anons Makoto...it was the Anons.
Tumblr media
Still...quite the entrance there Shuichi...you certainly left a impression on people.
Tumblr media
So I take it you have Yumeno as your dance partner?
Tumblr media
Some sheniginans with Sannoji happened, one thing led to another and as such I decided Himiko was gonna be my dance partner.
Tumblr media
I hope everyone has a good time with this upcoming concert and enjoy themselves.
Tumblr media
Also we are totally gonna win!
Tumblr media
As if! I have been practising non-stop with Chiaki and we won't lose.
Tumblr media
Dance Dance Revolution was very educational.
Tumblr media
If that's how stiff the competition is, we won't lose to you two Saihara and Yumeno!
Tumblr media
Exactly we all have been practising hard so you best get ready for a fight!

Hiii ☆
So the requests are open (I've never been happier, literally missed you so much >○<)
Can you do dcmk?
Furuya/akai x gn! quiet Reader?
Detailed >>
So the reader doesn't talk much, they are so chill (they don't get angry or show emotions, they're just so quiet around people) but the the reader likes furuya/akai but the reader doesn't show it much, sometimes the reader sits in the corner and watches their phone quietly, ☆ but the reader Blushes a lot when furuya/akai randomly do something romantic ☆
Example >> they blush a lot when furuya/akai kiss them + pin them against the wall + holds their hand + plays with their hair + (add anything you want).
I hope you do this request!
I'm proud of you! I hope you stay healthy 💓
Drink water! Remember that your loved by me and by everyone. and I'll always defend you and I'm very proud of you.
(If your uncomfortable it's completely fine to ignore this request)
I hope you like it 😊
Akai x reader, Furuya x reader
Navi.
Warnings: reader has hair to twirl in Akai's
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Goodness, aren't you adorable?
Shuichi enjoys making you blush, it honestly makes him laugh
Really, all he needs to be put into a good mood or to wake up after a tiresome night out is just seeing your cute and flustered face
He just gets a rush from teasing you
Other than your shyness, he very much appreciates your calm and quiet nature, since he's the same way
He enjoys spending the day sitting next to you/having you on his lap while each of you do your own thing, only exchanging a word or two every once in a while
Loves, loves, LOVES suddenly twirling you hair, playing with you fingers or blowing against your neck during these kinds of moments to witness you short-circuit
Starts laughing really loudly at your flustered state
Tumblr media
He enjoys your company because it's like a calm constant within his usually loud and hectic life
Now, something he didn't expect was that affection could make your seemingly cool demeanour break
You can't blame him for using that knowledge against you now and again, can you?
Sometimes, he doesn't even do it on purpose
He'll just see you enter Café Poirot and presses a quick kiss to your cheek
He's confused when Azusa starts giggling
But then he turns around to see you utterly flustered and he can't help but grin and kiss you again
Just this time on the mouth

[Reposting this because I'm dumb stupid and don't know how reblogs work! This was supposed to be a reblog of this post by @g0nta-g0kuhara, a multi-part analysis of Kokichi Oma in Chapter 4]
Ooh a meta post! Sends me back to when I was first researching the DRV3 fandom before playing the game (I'm a little backwards, I know...). I only read the one part, but I wanted to chime in with some additions on top of the existing analysis.
Interestingly, the "neutral Kokichi face" that's highlighted in this post is one of two "neutral faces" that Kokichi makes throughout the game. That would be stand_005_037, or Kokichi's 37th sprite.
Tumblr media
The other "neutral face" is the next sprite over, stand_005_038, which appears in a different context from the previous sprite. The difference between the two is really not terribly noticeable at a glance, so here's a visual.
Tumblr media
Up to now, I've considered sprite 37 to be Kokichi's "unserious neutral", as his expression appears more relaxed than that of sprite 38, what I've thought to be his "serious neutral".
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You know he's not serious when he's agreeing with Maki.
With the information from this analysis, though, it might be more accurate to call it his "masking neutral". Kokichi will use sprite 38 in low-emotion situations when he has a point to get across, like here in the Chapter 3 post-trial.
Tumblr media
However, in high-emotion situations, as said in the initial analysis post, Kokichi is likely trying to hold himself back. That's when sprite 37 comes in.
Tumblr media
Bro is either stifling a laugh or seething with anger in there
Regarding Kokichi's sprite 38, there's some stuff I've come across which loosely implies that it initially had a different design. When Kaito recaps his conversation with Kokichi in the hangar in the Chapter 5 post-trial, the conversation is portrayed with a sepia tone. The sprites for this conversation aren't really "sprites", per-se -- the entire scenario is actually stored as a series of background images in the game files.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One image that caught my attention, however, was bg_201_11:
Tumblr media
On my first playthrough of the game, I dubbed this sprite "Kokichi angy"
This image stands out at a glance because of the Kokichi sprite, which isn't seen anywhere else in the entire game. Compared to the other images in the set, this image actually seems to be from an older build of the game, as the shadows in the background, shading on the sprites, and position of Kokichi's arm-belt-things are different.
Tumblr media
bg_201_11 vs bg_201_01
My guess is that this unused sprite was an older version of sprite 38, especially since the current sprite 38 has similar errors as the older sprite.
Tumblr media
Personally, I'm glad "Kokichi angy" wasn't actually used in the final game. He looks a little too much like a wet cat.
On another topic, also related to the linked analysis: let's talk about the ever controversial whiteboard note written by Kokichi under Shuichi's photo which, in the English localization, reads "trustworthy?"
Tumblr media
As many people have pointed out, both now and in the past, this note was translated oddly and the original text was 「æČč断ăȘらăȘă„ïŒŸă€ (yudan naranai?).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though it's often translated by fans as “sneaky or cunning”, the literal translation is actually “don't be careless”, with “yudan” meaning “careless” and “naranai” meaning “must not (be)”. This is translateable in most situations as “dangerous”, hence that being the stock translation supplied by Jisho.org.
After all, "don't be careless" has essentially the same meaning as "this is dangerous", in most situations at least (think mountain climbing, or traveling through a dark alley; you wouldn't want to be careless because it is dangerous, you don't know what to expect so it's treacherous and sneaky).
When translating a note regarding a person, though, I would think "don't be careless" would be more appropriate, especially considering Shuichi isn't particularly dangerous compared to some other people in the academy whose dangers are well known (*cough cough* Maki)
You can find the independent translated meanings of yudan and naranai on Jisho as well as on Wikitionary (yudan, naranai).
So, Kokichi is essentially telling himself to stay on his guard around Shuichi, since he doesn't know what to expect from him. His attempt to team up with Shuichi in Chapter 4 was probably his confirmation that Shuichi wanted nothing to do with him, and that he should formulate his plans accordingly. It would probably have been ideal for him to have Shuichi on his side, as he saw Shuichi as a wild card (rather ironically; I'd imagine the group perceives Kokichi as the wild card of the group). So despite the translation error, the points made by the linked analysis still hold decent ground.
All in all, despite my belief that Chapter 4 is absolutely ridiculous, the linked analysis is quite good when one assumes Chapter 4 is logically sound (it's not), and still holds up even to someone like me who really dislikes Chapter 4 for its severe logical fallacies (my suspension of disbelief was absolutely thrown out the window when I played it... but maybe that's a matter for another day)

Part I
"Are you free Thursday evening?" Akai's facing away from him, getting out of the car in a hurry. Rei's picked him up from his flat this morning (his mustang broke down, apparently), which is how they're both running late now. It's a good thing the meeting can't start without them.
In any case, Rei isn't - things have been busy in the aftermath of the takedown of the organisation, as Akai should be well aware. He did, after all, just return from a three-month vacation to FBI headquarters in Washington. The official cover story, as far as Rei knows, is Okiya going to the US to continue his PhD, while the authorities prepared to reintroduce the reborn Akai Shuichi to the world. Now he's back for good, officially appointed as the FBI's liaison to the PSB.
While he didn't share what he was up to while he was waiting to be processed, Rei has a pretty good guess - the higher-ups have been expecting all sorts of reports from him, after all, and surely Akai is just as vital a source, involved as they both were. The thought of him doing paperwork is amusing, and strangely domestic in its mundanity. (He'd love to see it.)
So, he'll figure something out. Several people owe him favours, and he has five years of vacation to catch up on. This is the first time Akai is reaching out for a meeting outside of work (not that Rei kept track or anything), and he's not about to let that chance slip through his fingers.
"I'll make it work. What for?" Agreeing without even knowing what he agreed to, he really is pathetic. And yet. He trusts the other won't waste his time or ask for the impossible.
"Dinner at the Myosotis. Seven p.m."
Rei blinks. That rings a bell. Western style fine dining, prohibitively expensive. Waiting lists of half a year, at least. Back then, they were just barely collaborating, surely Akai didn't plan this far ahead? How, then, did he get a table, and why is he inviting Rei to go there? That's the kind of place people go to for romantic marriage proposals; not the sort of restaurant the two of them would frequent, if they do eat out.
"I've already said yes, but... that's quite high-class, isn't it?" Not that he minds - being Bourbon taught him how to frequent places like that. It's just that Akai has never given any sort of indication he might like that kind of place. Huh.
(And really, if he's being honest, any place would be fine as long as it's with Akai. They have a couple of months to catch up on, after all.)
The smile Akai gives him in response is...odd. Small and genuine, private in the way that he's only ever seen Shuichi look at a select few people. Akemi. His siblings. Shinichi. But it doesn't reach his eyes, this time; instead, they're narrowed, burning with something like dread. Rei can't quite make sense of the expression.
"I think the occasion warrants it", is all Akai says before he slams the car door shut, turning his back to Rei. And that's the end of that conversation.
Alright then. Weird.
.
After that, Rei can't shake the feeling that Akai avoids him outside of work. Takes his smoke breaks alone, leaves immediately after they're done.
In situations like these Rei wishes he could talk to Hiro. It's a best friend's duty to help figure out if he's making something out of nothing, right? Maybe Akai really is just busy. And maybe he truly is in the mood for a celebratory dinner; after all, they haven't really had time to spend together since they came out of hiding, ripped apart by work and duty. They've talked, of course, but now that he's back it seems like the circumstances have calmed down enough to consider such a thing. (Even though a nagging thought tells him the official celebratory gala will be held in a couple of months, marking the half-year anniversary of the operation, and he knows Akai isn't looking forward to it.)
The thing is, that doesn't warrant it the look Akai gave him. That look was charged, it meant something. Through the years, Akai has looked at him a great many different ways. Rye mostly cold and disinterested at first, then with that faintly concealed amusement that still drives him up the walls. Okiya usually observed him with curiosity and caution. And Akai? A variety of expressions. Laughter and pain and gratitude. That bone-deep weariness that seems to cling to him like his shadow. Just once, with surprise. But rarely, if ever, as scared as he'd looked when he'd asked him out.
What was he afraid of? It's not like Rei was going to decline dinner, even if he's a little insulted it's western food. (Then again, he's quite proud of his prowess regarding traditional Japanese cuisine, so really, that would've been a worse choice.) Akai might just crave nostalgic food.
This is the third time this week he's reached this point in the argument with himself, and it really doesn't feel like he's getting any closer to the truth.
In the years he's known him, Akai has never shown to be the type to celebrate. Not that the organisation left much room to celebrate. As Okiya, Rei never got close enough to figure out his preferences. And as for Akai...well, he seemed happy enough, if exhausted, coming back from his sister's birthday party, and that's really the only indication Rei has. Maybe he doesn't know Akai as well as he thought. The idea stings.
Still, it makes no sense. If he wanted to celebrate, the takedown was a team effort, and Rei knows agents Starling and Black are in the country. He's checked their schedules, but neither they nor Kazami are free next week, at that certain hour. (Alright, well, in Kazami's case it might be Rei's fault he's busy, but he needs someone capable to cover for him.)
The Kudos, arguably the masterminds behind the operation, have left for a vacation to the Swiss alps, too. Allegedly, they've taken Shinichi with them to recover in mountain air - privately, Rei has heard through the grapevine that talking things out with Ran didn't go so well. She's asked for some time to think about their relationship, so Shinichi is off bringing crime to Swiss ski resorts for a change.
None of the usual suspects are free, or invited. It seems it's really just the two of them.
He doesn't want to, can't afford to indulge the foolish hope that Akai might've missed him as much as Rei did (his dry wit, his dependability, the scent of his cigarettes and aftershave in their sheets). They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, but is it enough for such a shift to occur with Akai?
Their work did keep them too busy to do anything but exchange short texts or calls every once in a while. That little had been a must, for Rei; while officially the organisation might be gone, some stragglers have yet to be found. Thus, he's been checking up on Akai, just to make sure he's still alright out there. (He wants to touch him and hold him and hear his heartbeat, wants to make sure he's alive. Wants too many things he can't have, as usual.)
Rei has promised himself he'll never act on these feelings; can't destroy this careful balance they have managed to attain. But if Akai's the one reaching out, who is Rei to decline? If after all they've gone through Akai still wants to stay by his side, Rei doesn't have the strength to push him away for his own good.
Throughout their relationship, it's always been Rei asking to meet him to exchange sweaters and information. For Akai to take this step now, and in such a grandiose manner, leaves him reeling, uncertain of the other's intentions. Among the living, he's probably the one who knows the sniper best, and yet he just can't figure out what this means. The uncertainty is maddening.
Damnit, really, what is he supposed to think about Akai inviting him to a high-class dinner? Just the two of them?
.
Hiro hasn't contacted him either, since that time in the Kudo mansion. He'd assured Rei he was safe, doing alright. Sorry for not being able to meet. And that was that.
(In a moment of weakness, Rei's asked Akai for his number. But Akai had revealed he'd only gotten the contact info for a burner phone, worthless after that one use.)
He's missed Hiro before, when he wasn't sure whether he was alive or dead, but somehow, knowing he is out there and not being able to reach him is worse. Hiro was supposed to have his back, and now he can't even help him out with his uncertain thoughts and feelings regarding one Akai Shuichi. Traitor.
.
Rei's fretting for hours about his look for dinner. (When was he last out on a date that actually mattered?)
It's not like he's lacking in confidence. He knows he cleans up nicely, and working with Vermouth for years has left him fashion-conscious. He's perfectly aware of how to dress up appropriately for a venue like the Myosotis. Honestly, he's more concerned (and quite frankly, intrigued) how Akai will fare.
Still, he wonders if the red tie is perhaps a bit too much. He's added it on a whim, for a splash of colour, but now he's considering whether it's too bold, wearing Akai's namesake openly. He's probably overthinking it. It's not like Akai to pick up on such clues.
He's triple-checked, by this point, his nails and hair and teeth. His suit is crisply ironed. It's perfect. What could possibly go wrong?
.
Rei finds himself at the restaurant a quarter hour early. A waiter shows him to the lovely window seats Akai has reserved for them, looking out over the city's lights. It's beautiful. The place is pleasantly quiet, a separée creating an ambience of privacy. Bathing the space in warm light is a cream candle, placed on a perfectly ironed tablecloth. After a couple of moments, the waiter returns with a bottle of quality champagne, chilled for their convenience.
Myosotis couldn't be more stereotypically romantic if it tried, and Rei finds his face burning as hot as the flame in front of him. It's a good thing he's a little early; he'll need time to steady himself to face Akai. Maybe have a glass of cool champagne to calm his nerves.
Rei runs one last check, refreshes his cologne on neck and wrist, and waits.
.
A couple minutes go by, during which he tries several different grounding techniques, to limited effect. He still perks up when, from the corner of his eyes, he spots Okiya's pastel pink hair - though it is in confusion, the excitement dying down quickly, replaced with fury. The posture of the man is incredibly familiar.
Conscious of where they are, and what is appropriate, Rei gets up from their table to greet him.
"You've kept me waiting long enough."
And with the brightest possible smile he can muster, he slaps his best friend across the face, hard.
.
"Yeah, I guess I deserve that." At least it's his own voice. Hiro's awkward smile looks off on Okiya's pretty face, and Rei has to fight the urge to throw his arms around his neck. Whether to hug him or strangle him, he doesn't quite know, himself.
"You..." 'deserve much worse than that. Deserve much better than that. Are an asshole and an idiot and it's so good to see you-'
People are noticing the commotion. Bourbon's reflexes kick in, uncomfortable with the attention. He finds himself closing the distance and hissing at Hiro.
"Take a seat before we cause even more of a scene."
Hiro-as-Okiya follows him into the separée. A waiter comes by, pouring him a glass of champagne too. The mood is as frosty as their drinks.
Hiro makes no move to continue the conversation. Great.
"...would you care to explain", Rei asks through his best Amuro smile, "what exactly you are doing here?" He considers adding 'and why you are dressed as Akai's ridiculous cover', but figures that one's self-evident.
"I wanted to see you, so Akai helped me out. The paperwork is taking its sweet time." He says it nonchalantly, as if it is that simple. As if he hasn't been MIA for half a year, and presumed KIA for years before that.
He's willing to bet this meeting was Akai's bright idea. Rei's all too familiar with his idea of 'help'. Doing what he thinks is best in the shadows, without talking to the person he's allegedly helping out.
It sucks, because he knows the FBI agent meant well. He probably thought this was a pleasant surprise. (And it is, just a little.)
It just very much does not help that Rei had quite different expectations of how this evening would go. He was expecting something much nicer than spontaneously having to decide whether he should make use of Hiro's shellfish allergy and poison him right then and there. (The answer is no, will always be no, who is he even kidding.)
Hiro's blue eyes stare at him from across the table, illuminated in warm candlelight. They clash horribly with the pink hair. It makes Rei nauseous. He looks down at the table.
He manages a strangled "I would have appreciated a heads-up." For this situation in particular and the fact that Hiro's alive, in general.
"Did he not tell you?"
"No. And it's not like I expected anything of the sort from him." 'You, however, should have known better.'
"Look, Zero-" Rei's withering glare makes him falter for a second, but he presses on. "I couldn't let you know. It was too dangerous at the time, for myself and Rye. And you."
Oh, great. Another person looking out for his supposed well-being. Except, it really only was about the success of their mission, wasn't it? As if that was ever worth his best friend's life.
He clenches his fist under the table, tries to calm himself. Fails. "I get that. I really, truly do." He rises, slams his hands on the table, leans across. Stares at the farce that is Okiya, just a lie this time.
"But it's been three years, Hiro." Then, quietly: "I thought you were dead."
Countless nights spent visiting morgues, checking if all bodies matching Hiro's stature were accounted for. Checking international flights. Investigating the ruins of the exploded building, in hopes of finding evidence of tampering. Looking over the remains of the body, burnt and crushed, with only the totality of the destruction hinting at foul play. Years and years of hounding Akai, trying to get answers from the one person who had to know, only to not make it in time. That terrible night Gin had sent him a gift, Akai falling lifelessly back into the video's frame, joining Scotch in a violent end; his last lead going up in flames and smoke. Mourning Matsuda and Date, alone.
He fights down the bile rising in his throat with practiced ease. His eyes sting and burn, but he won't be embarrassed now by giving in.
To his credit, Hiro has backed off as far as he can, shrinking under Rei's glare. Familiar blue eyes lock with his, and Rei needs to focus on them because everything else about the Okiya getup gives him whiplash he doesn't know how to deal with. Hiro takes a breath, steadies himself.
"Zero." A warm hand is gently laid atop his own. So familiar, so comforting, even after years apart. Rei wants to run, or fight, or both, but finds himself anchored in place.
"I'm sorry. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, as many times as you need me to."
As if any number of apologies could erase years and years of grief and guilt and loneliness. If he'd just been faster, if Hiro had just trusted him, they would've found a solution, it was never worth his life-
"...why didn't you come to me, Hiro?" Idiot.
Because after months and years to contemplate it, that's the root of the problem, isn't it? The start of the betrayal. The broken promise from their academy days, splintering even further. 'We can handle anything, as long as we're together.' And then fate had ripped them apart, one by one, counting down to zero. Except Hiro had had a choice.
"I'm sorry. I did what I thought was necessary." He wears his emotions on his face.
And for a split-second, Rei doesn't see Hiro. He sees Akai, a week ago; his small smile, his pained eyes. Denial and self-sacrifice. Just what in the world made Akai look at him like that?
It's disorienting enough that he finds his spiralling thoughts interrupted, blinking at Hiro. He backs off, sits back down.
"Promise me, now, that you'll never run off like that again." Please, he can't say, but tries to convey through squeezing Hiro's hand just slightly too hard, before he pulls back in time for the waiter coming in with their entrées.
"I'll try."
Rei glares at him. Not good enough.
"Okay, okay, I won't." Hiro laughs, and oh, how Rei has missed the sound. Some of the tension bleeds out of him, and he finds himself joining his best friend, helplessly.
This isn't over, the pain isn't gone. It's unlikely it ever will, and there surely will be more arguments in the future (and sparring. He really wants to knock some more sense into Hiro). The trust they're missing will be hard to rebuild.
But Rei has had no choice but to live without Hiro for three years now. Has missed him painfully, every single day. If he's going to live in pain either way, might as well have it caused by Hiro's continued presence by his side.
If he gets a second chance at life then Hiro deserves one, too.
...................................................................................
Part II
Dinner after that is slow, but pleasant.
Akai has apparently pre-ordered roasts that need several days to be prepared for them, and while the quality is good, the style of food just isn't Rei's favourite. Hiro seems pretty delighted by it though, so that's something at least.
They leave charged topics carefully untouched. Since Hiro isn't on active duty, Rei can't really talk about his PSB work, and Hiro isn't at liberty to talk about his cover either. So small talk it is. Rei shows Hiro pictures of Haro, and he's immediately taken (as he should).
By the time they've made it past the main dish, they're running out of idle chitchat. Hiro's bracing himself, seems to be working up the courage to ask something. Rei can already tell he won't like the upcoming conversation.
"So, Zero." He folds his hands together, and leans on the table, looking inquisitively. "Do you mind explaining what's going on between you and Akai?"
"Nothing." The answer comes too quick and too pressed, he's not fooling anyone. And that's without accounting for the fact that Hiro knows him too well, even after three years apart. He smiles, faintly.
"Of course. Nice cologne, by the way. I'm sure Hagiwara would approve of the selection." He taps the fingers of the hand he's wrapped around Rei's wrist earlier on the wooden table. Rei feels embarrassment well up. Hiro, as usual, is annoyingly perceptive. Still, cologne is not too out of the ordinary. He tries to cover his choice up with professionalism, and even almost believes himself.
"Yes. It's only proper for an establishment such as this one."
"Yes, yes." Hiro concedes, too easily. His eyes narrow, aiming for the kill. "And I guess red just happens to be your new favourite colour?" The crimson tie around his neck feels too much like a noose, suddenly, restricting his airflow. It's probably the damn candle's fault too, burning all their oxygen. He flushes, despite his best efforts.
"Not my favourite, but it felt appropriate for a celebration", he gets out. It really doesn't help that Hiro is wearing Akai's second skin, the one he's too comfortable seeing. Though the eyes are different, he has trouble shaking the reminder of certain evenings in the Kudo manor. Drinking their sorrows away, just the two of them.
"And you were going to celebrate with a romantic candlelight dinner?" Hiro's arched eyebrow could reach space.
"Trust me, that is as strange to me as it must be to you."
"Oh no, it isn't - I've seen the look he gets when you text him."
And Rei hates himself, hates his traitorous body that perks up at those words, hates the burning curiosity. Wants Hiro to explain, wants it to be true. Hates that Hiro knows how to play him, still, judging by that infuriatingly kind smile. Hiro is so lucky they're in public. He'd very much like to wipe it from his face.
Rei wonders, briefly, if that's why Akai selected the location, and didn't tell him the truth - if he'd asked, Rei's not sure he would have agreed to meet Hiro, the betrayal still too painful in his mind. Not that this kind of secrecy is appreciated. He really thought they were past that, by now. He'll need to deal with Akai, properly, later.
"Do I look like I care about what the FBI idiot is up to?"
He knows a tactical misstep when he sees it, and he's walked right into this one.
"To be quite honest with you: yes." Hiro hides his smile behind his glass of champagne. Badly. His eyes shine with amusement.
Damnit. What's the point of pretending when Hiro just sees right through him anyways? Rei's so tired of fighting himself at every step.
"Alright, fine. Make yourself useful, then. What did he look like?"
"He lit up like his phone's screen whenever a new text arrived." That, at least, is soothing. There had been quite a few texts. He'd assumed, after all, that he was keeping a bored and lonely Akai company. Just how long has Hiro been with him? Did Akai just ignored his best friend during their flight in favour of chatting with Rei? Asshole.
"If I dare say so, it was quite cute."
Rei doesn't bother to dignify that with a response. His burning cheeks probably provide more of an answer than he would like to give, anyways.
"Alright, I won't push you if you don't want to talk about it. Just know that I'll have an open ear for you, if you change your mind." He slips a card with a handwritten phone number in it. It's not much, but it's better than nothing. Rei memorizes it, then burns the paper.
"By the way." Hiro seems a little concerned, fiddling with his glass. "Akai gave me a couple of odd looks while we were flying back. Any idea what that's about? He went out of his way to sneak me into the country, and we had some good talks, so I struggle to see why he's upset with me?"
At this point, the waiter brings in their dessert.
A medium-sized chocolate cake, heart-shaped. A fork is delicately placed on either side.
Hiro shrugs in response to his questioning look. Amuro's customer service smile slips on easily enough. "I'm sorry? I think you've mistaken the dessert for this table."
"Ah, no, gentlemen. All dishes have been prepared according to the requests of the person making the reservation." How odd.
They thank the waiter, wait until he's out of earshot.
Disjointed information is snapping into place.
"Hiro, you've seen more of him recently. Please tell me this is Akai's idea of a joke."
Because the man has a keen sense of humour, even if it's often only for his own amusement. Gods know as Bourbon Rei wanted to strangle him for his quiet mockery.
But surely he can't be implying what Rei thinks he's implying.
"Hm." Hiro pauses for a minute, bless him, actually contemplating the issue while taking an appreciative bite from the chocolate cake. Which they will not be sharing, like that. Rei cuts it in half with his fork, dragging one half towards his side of the plate.
"I don't think so, no. It's hard to tell with him." 'No, it's not', Rei wants to say, 'you can tell by the barely visible laughter lines around his eyes.' He wisely keeps his mouth shut. It wouldn't help his case about how little is going on between him and Akai.
"But I'm inclined to say he was painfully sincere. It was his idea to arrange this dinner, and before he dropped me off, he wished me good luck. I assumed, at the time, that he was concerned about me walking back out alive without my head bitten off. Now, I think he might have somehow gotten the wrong idea about us."
Rei shoves a piece of chocolate cake into his mouth. The icing melts pleasantly on his tongue.
Akai set him up on a date with his best friend.
The FBI agent can be so smart when he needs to. How is he so hopeless whenever interpersonal relationships are involved?
"Idiot."
That's going to be a fun talk.

shuichi x reader with a major resting bitch face? it sort of scares people a bit but they smile a lot, and their smile is really sweet (*ÂŽ-`) i love ur work!!!
shuichi with an s/o who has a major resting bitch face
type : headcanon, gn!reader
note : thank you for the request and the compliment!! i'm happy you like my work :D sorry if anything is weird here, this wasn't proof read!!!!
requested : yes!!
Tumblr media
when shuichi first met you he, unsurprisingly, was a little intimidated! although you seemed scary to him, kaede and kaito encouraged him to talk to you more since you were actually super sweet!
at first he was yet there was this underlying curiosity he couldn't shake off no matter how hard he tried. so he talked to you. and was pleaseantly shocked! he wasn't expecting you to smile and laugh at his silly quips.
now that the two of you are in a relationship he'll trust you to be the one telling the waiter that they got his order wrong (scary partner priviledges), or tell off kokichi again.
he loves your smile and your laugh and does his best to make you happy - sometimes you find him scrolling through sites full of bad jokes at 2am before you drag him back to bed.

HERE I COME WITH ANOTHER REQUEST CUCARACHIN
This happened because something similar happened to me, well it's about Shuichi coming to his partner's house (I prefer the reader to be amab although I don't care if it was gn) the thing is that it is the first time he meets his brother / the sister minor from the reader!
So while the reader is there everything is fine but then he leaves Shuichi with his brother/sister and it happens that she/he no longer behaves like an "angel", she/he literally looks at Shuichi badly, she/he questions him about what intentions he has with his brother. eldest (the reader) and all that about children who are suspicious of their older brother/sister's partner 😈
I imagine that he/she says to Shuichi: "Ah, are you his boyfriend?.." and talks to Shuichi like he's an annoying fly "I imagined.....someone different." and with a tone of voice of clear disappointment and contempt towards Shuichi, I think he would be a little sad that your boyfriend's brother/sister shows so much distrust towards him.
So when the reader comes over (went out to buy some ice cream) his/her younger brother/sister acts like before, like an "angel" so the reader does not suspect for the moment
I imagine that Shuichi then tells him what happened to his sister/brother and in the end the reader only comforts him with some kisses and hugs and laughing softly, because his younger sister/brother is only 7 years old.

—— shuichi meeting your younger sibling .
— đŹđźđŠđŠđšđ«đČ : shuichi's heard a lot of good things about your “ sweet little sibling , ” but his first encounter with them is quite different than what he was expecting.
— đ đžđ§đ«đž : fluff
— 𝐜𝐰 : none
— 𝐚/𝐧 : yes this is gn! reader ,, coming from an only child perspective , i had to think about how other people’s little siblings are like lmao
Tumblr media
you and shuichi have hung out plenty of times at his house , but never at yours. so he’d proposed the idea one day , and there you both were.
you told him that your younger sibling would be there , and he reassured that he didn’t mind. after all , the most you two would do would be kissing and cuddling , nothing beyond that

you threw on a movie to watch , since movies are great and all and it’d be perfect for you and shuichi to just be close together.
your younger sibling joined with , promising that they’d not be a hassle and sat down next to you.
then , you got up to get some snacks in the middle of you and shuichi just leaning on each other and semi - hugging.
once you were out of earshot , your sibling turned to shuichi.
“ so , you’re the guy my sibling’s so crazy over? kind of disappointing. what do you want with them anyways? ” your sibling would immediately say.
shuichi would be a bit caught off guard. like , tf do you mean “ kind of disappointing ” ?? so he’d probably respond with something like , “ oh , um
were you expecting something different from me? ”
and they’d reply with , “ well , yeah! like some hunky buff guy or something. ”
“ ah
 well , sorry
? ” he’d just awkwardly apologize , since he didn’t want to offend your sibling that you spoke so nicely ( for the most part ) about.
“ so what do you want with them , huh? ” they’d ask , pressuring for him to answer.
shuichi would stutter under the pressuring glare he was put under , and he wouldn’t know how to properly answer the question. i mean , you guys were dating. why would they need to ask that? did he really look that untrustworthy?
“ plus , what’s with your weird emo look? you look straight out of my chemical romance or something. ”
“ i — what? ”
and then before he’d been able to respond , you came inside the room.
looking at your sibling’s one last glare at shuichi before redirecting to the screen , and then a look at shuichi’s troubled face , you could piece together that something had happened while you were gone.
“ everything
all right? ” you’d ask. your sibling would reply with a chirp of , “ yeah! ” while shuichi would say it more in a meekly sounding way.
hearing his tone of voice you’d go over , and after putting the snacks on the table , briefly kiss shuichi on the cheek. in the corner of his eye , he’d see your sibling’s bitter judgement of the scene.
you brushed the scene before away and focused instead on basking in shuichi’s personal warmth , as the movie soon ended and the nighttime hours came.
as he said goodbye at your doorstep , you closed the door behind you to step outside. you asked him why he looked so confused at your sibling earlier with a small smile on your face.
he’d then spill everything , and also a hint of his insecurities at not being a “ hunky buff guy ” to suit your sibling’s tastes and instead projecting a “ weird emo look ”.
you’d then start a heartfelt speech on how he was perfectly fine for you , and that your sibling’s young enough only to know the stereotypical relationship qualities on tv cartoons and such , not actual love or relationships in the real world. it didn’t matter that he wasn’t super strong or anything , and it really only mattered that it was him.
and you also reminded him that your sibling wasn’t even in middle school. then shuichi started feeling silly for his sudden feelings. you hugged and kissed him anyways , laughing lightheartedly at the situation as you let him stay over instead ; wanting him and your sibling to try to get along in this second try.

Hit The Road Jack
Tumblr media
A/N: Some spoilers on the 2nd and 3rd killing game, also sorry if this kind of sucks. I really wanted to post something so this might have been somewhat rushed and some spelling errors.
Plot: You cheated on them and They found out you were the culprit in a killing right after.
Characters being used: Hiyoko saionji, Shuichi Saihara
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You and Hiyoko knew each other even before the killing game and were already quite close, But now the you two are stuck with each other in a killing game just brings you both even closer together.
You both started dating right after Teruteru death, you told Hiyoko how afraid you were about being next she assured you that she'll keep you safe and away from the rest of those what she calls "assholes"
The game continued on after Mahiru's death, You couldn't take it anymore. The fear of being next cornered you down so hard that you believed that no one here was trustworthy.
You distanced yourself from everyone even Hiyoko, she was worried about you but every time she tried to speak with you. you would tell her you that you wanted to be alone.
That went up for a while until she finally snapped back at you she went over to your dorm to speak with you regardless if you wanted to be alone on not, unfortunately for you, you didn't lock the door causing Hiyoko to walk in on both you and Mikan being together and kissing with one another.
Scene was so heartbreaking that all Hiyoko could do is cry and yell at you while causing out on Mikan at the same time, instead of trying to reassure her and telling Hiyoko is didn't mean anything you just told her that you didn't love her anymore and just stayed with her as to not make enemies and to not be alone. Your words hit her like a rock as she ran out your dorm in tears.
A few hours went by as Hiyoko stayed in her room majority of the day not many was worried for her since she usual was with you or doing her own thing. That's until the announcement went off letting there be know that a body has been found. Hiyoko didn't want to see anyone but she knew she'll be seen as suspicious if she didn't go and help investigate.
For some reason you weren't there for the investigate, of course she was curious why but after finding out that Mikan was the one who died she didn't think that you went down such a path, she didn't want to think of you regardless.
Time passed on and on the trial happened everyone was pointing fingers at could’ve done it until Hajime finally pointed his finger at you with all the evidence and proof. Hiyoko didn’t believe it but she also didn’t want to stick up for either so she voted for you like everyone else.
When Monokuma told everyone it was correct she couldn’t believe it, you scooped down that low just because you were scared of being next and ended up being the thing you were afraid of. Hiyoko didn’t watch your execution instead just wondering if that was the real you or did this killing game just get too deep into your head.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You two were together even before the killing game, and finding out that you were part of the killing game made him want to protect both you and Kaede even more.
You befriended Kaede as you and her became somewhat close friends, Shuichi was glad you were getting along with others but wanted you to stay away from the suspicious group of people mostly calling out Kokichi.
The killing didn't really scare you as much as Shuichi expected, but he's glad you're keep yourself calm and away from the thought of death. Both him and Kaede were looking for a way out of all this madness due to that Kaede ended meeting her fate, everyone was now on edge. This killing game is no joke after witnessing Kaede death.
Even you were on edge as well, Shuichi stayed by you're side the entire time. He lost Kaede and the last thing he'll ever want now it to lose you as well. During the time you befriended Kaito and Maki as there would time where you all would work out in the morning even in the evening together. But for some reason you started coming less and less to the workouts.
Both Shuichi and Kaito was getting worried about you, Maki just assumed you wanted to clear your mind from the killing game and honestly she doesn't blame you. But the more you didn't show up the most Shuichi got worried, you even stopped coming to breakfast or even skipped dinner. Thank god you didn't skip both in one day.
It was night and Shuichi couldn't get you off his mind, You completely stopped coming to workouts and most the time skipped breakfast and every time he tried to mention it you'll reassured him telling him you're fine but now you barley even hang out with him anymore at this point.
Not wanting to worry about this for long Shuichi got out of bed and went your dorm. He was going to knock on the door but he heard some noises coming from the dorm room, they weren't loud but when he pressed his ear against the door he could perfect understand what was going on in there. He now understood why you barley hung out with him anymore, why you don't come workouts. But it wasn't clear on why you would breakfast.
It didn't matter right now at the moment, Shuichi walked to his dorm room feeling sorrowful as he returned back into his dorm. The next day came around and you once again didn't show up to breakfast. It's like he wanted you to come but he just noticed it again.
Kaito realized how Shuichi was looking more upsetting than usual as Shuichi explain the situation to him. Kaito just wanted to walk up to you and give you a piece of his mind but Shuichi told him not too.
The time has passed and Shuichi nor Kaito haven't seen you all day an upsetting feeling grow in Shuichi and the announcement of a body being found didn't help either. during the investigation you weren't there as well, He would've been suspicious of you but he really didn't want to think of you at the current moment.
Time passed on and on the trial came along, Miu and Kokichi were going back and forth as some were actually pointing out evidence while the others were babbling out more nonsense. The trial continued as now all evidence were pointed at you. Shuichi didn't want to say it, He doesn't understand why and what happened. You were so calm during the beginning of the killing game.
But of course he had to and everyone voted on you, to his upsetting Monokuma said it was correct. You didn't look surprised or bothered and you just took your execution but before you didn't you confessed to Shuichi about cheating on him but you never said who you cheated on him with before anyone could question you already in the middle of your execution.
The room was silent, But the thought of you couldn't escape Shuichi's head.

prompt: 'Saihara-can would you like me to do some tarot card readings?' + 'Ouma-kun that's just pictures of me' + angie third wheeling
a/n: I was thinking of including this in my saiouma 'Back and Forth' fic but I ended up writing this as a shorts- (I may still write another version of this in Back and Forth though-)
Tumblr media
(inspired by this meme I found on Pinterest!!)
Tumblr media
The other day, Angie Yonaga was visited by someone she had least expected to be visited by: Kokichi Ouma.
Angie, who found peace in art and loved talking about Atua, found it odd that the Ultimate Supreme Leader suddenly dropped by and asked if she could lend him some of her tarot cards.
It was unsure how that purple head knew she had tarot cards, but she lended it to him anyway. She occasionally would use those cards to persuade others to join her to worship Atua, so she deduced Kokichi probably knew from then.
The Ultimate Supreme Leader thanked her giddily and told her that he wanted to do some readings on a rival evil organization that was threatening his own organization, but Angie knew better than to believe in the absurd reasoning.
So she went along and asked Kiibo to keep an eye on Kokichi. The robot was reluctant, but she insisted that it would be for the greater good. She told him to tell her if he saw Kokichi walking around with cards.
A few days later, Kiibo told her that he saw Kokichi being cards around and entered the library.
In a haste, Angie made her way to the library, and found Kokichi and Shuichi sitting at a table together.
From afar, the two were just conversing like they normally would. Since the two of them were the only ones talking in the library, Angie could easily make out what they were talking about if she focused.
"Shumai! Would you like me to do some tarot card reading for you?!" Kokichi suddenly asked excitedly, eyes probably gleaming in enthusiasm. Shuichi furrowed his eyebrows at the sudden excitement, but agreed to it nonetheless.
So not really a rival for his organization, but perhaps a rival for his intelligence then? Saihara-kun has always been a smart fellow.
Kokichi eagerly took out some cards, and Angie was quick to realize that those were not her tarot cards.
Did she hear him wrong then?
The Ultimate Supreme Leader proudly put the cards on the table faced down, grinning before he picked one and flipped it.
"Well, Saihara-chan, I'm an expert in tarot card reading! Lemme show you! Take this card for example; this was the time when you had just entered the academy and befriended Akamatsu-chan - your first love! That lovesick look in your eyes as she preached about teamwork is really disgusting. Just kidding! It's adorable! Geez, Akamatsu-chan should just reject you straight up so I could ask you out!
That was a lie though! I'd rather date someone else!"

what
 ?
Angie, confused, turned to look at Shuichi who looked a little embarrassed, clearing his throat as he murmured,
"... She's a really
nice person. It's hard to not
 uhh
Anyways. Ouma-kun, those are not tarot cards-"
"Let's move on to the next card!" Kokichi cut Shuichi off, choosing another card and flipping it. He laughed in his typical 'nishishi' way, and started talking.
"This one tells me that you could be so damn straightforward and attractive if needed. That's what everyone thinks anyway! Saihara-chan's charisma when he's serious about solving a case could be very charming~ Geez Saihara-chan's a playboy~ Is this why you kept on ignoring Akamatsu-chan's and my love confessions?! What a horrible guy!"
Shuichi blinked in surprise, staring at Kokichi as if that midget had grown two heads before he scoffed, a subtle delighted yet embarrassed tone following his words after.
"I'm not so attractive that I have people throwing themselves at me, Ouma-kun. Also, Akamatsu-san has never explicitly told me that she likes me like that. Another point, don't I already have you? You and your words that are more often than not feigned as lies?"
The Ultimate Supreme Leader gasped, making a show of clutching at his heart as he accused the detective with tears welling up in his eyes,
"What's up with those cringe-worthy words, Shumai?! Are you actually planning to seduce me before selling me off to the black market?! How terrible of you!"
"How did you even come up with that absurd idea?!" Shuichi groaned, his frustration perhaps catching up to him.
The Ultimate Detective suddenly stood up, snatched the picture Kokichi was 'reading', and inquired in all seriousness.
"How come you have a picture of me at a crime scene outside of the academy anyway? Pretty sure my uncle was the only one who knew beforehand that I would be there just to get some experience."
Kokochi grinned cheekily at the question, and Angie found his next answer very intriguing.
"Of course, because I've met your uncle and he obviously supported our relationship!"
Angie saw how Shuichi faltered at the claim, cheeks taking the lovely shade of red as he gaped at the supreme leader who kept on his innocent grin.
Somehow, it was Shuichi's turn to come up with a ridiculous idea.
"Did you blackmail my uncle?!"
Angie had to hold her laughter in, covering her mouth as she tried her best to stifle laughter at this sudden turn of events. Even Kokichi seemed to be enjoying himself, resting his cheek on the palm of his hand as he smiled mischievously.
"Eh~ Busted already~? I mean, it's so easy to blackmail your uncle, Saihara-chan~"
Shuichi couldn't seem to accept it as the truth and sputtered.
"But that's absurd."
"So which one is the lie, and which one's the truth, Saihara-chan?
Come on, think! Aren't you the detective around here?" Kokichi taunted, still with that unnervingly well-putted evil smile on his lips.
The answer was obvious, but Shuichi probably couldn't comprehend the idea of his uncle meeting someone and suddenly supporting his relationship with said someone.
A little bit flustered, Shuichi cleared his throat and gestured vaguely at the other picture to divert the topic of conversation.
"What does the last picture mean anyway?"
The Ultimate Artist was not letting that happen under her watch.
Before Kokichi could follow along the detective's request, Angie loudly got out of her hiding spot, a bright smile on her lips as she strode towards her classmates and snatched the last picture, glancing at Kokichi who complained about her ruining their fun.
Angie beamed at Shuichi, and said,
"Atua told me that something is brewing in the library, and that I should ask Saihara-kun which is the truth and which is not! Could you give me your answer, Saihara-kun?"
Shuichi, embarrassed that he couldn't get out of the topic, groaned barely audibly before he answered meekly.
"... At least let me introduce you to him, Ouma-kun
 "
Kokichi grinned teasingly and instantly forgot the last picture, standing up in triumph before literally dragging Shuichi out of the library to celebrate the start of their 'phantom thief-detective relationship'.
(The purple head suddenly clarified that the relationship that Shuichi's uncle was so supportive of was a phantom thief and detective relationship. Questionable, really.)
Before the duo leave though, Angie smiled amicably while Kokichi gave her a blank look - to tell her to not follow them, probably.
Either way, there's some 'tarot cards' that weren't yet to be read.
So she stared at the picture of Kokichi staring at a smiling Shuichi who was talking to Kaede, and realized that perhaps Atua had planned for her to be there.
After all, if Shuichi were to see this picture, Kokichi's 'crush' might as well be as hidden as her love for Atua.
In other words, very apparent.

Note
1. This is right from Yoshinori Terasawa (tl by apeironstella):
“ Now, we received various interpretations, inquiries and impressions from the players, and all of them are rather precious for us. Thank you very much. In the modern world, especially on the internet, it is starting to become blurry what is a lie and what is the truth. In midst of that, I think it is important to investigate for yourself, to think about things and to find your own answers. There are two sides to everything. I think what it comes down to is how you interpret things, in the end. This work as well, is something you can interpret in different ways, and it is true that even between the staff, we all have our own differing interpretations of it. I would be happy if you can enjoy this story where there is a paper thin line between the truth and lies, where they are two sides of the same coin/inseparable, until the end and find your own answers. I think it is fine for everyone to decide what they feel, think and how they interpret things.”
2. Leaving aside how it's less obvious that Kokichi seems to play to Miu's tastes explictly because they're friends, and whether it's Kiibo being clueless or Kiibo clicking on to something (which it feels like he could be doing either or, with the 'k word' bit in chapter 2 as well), Gonta played dumb in the Virtual World when he said 'the board is so thin, will it be okay won't it break' right after he strangled Miu with toilet paper. It's inconceivable that he would be truthful here when the trial has him call out Shuichi for 'goofing off' for pointing out that the culprit used toilet paper because of how easily it would tear. Judging from how well he does this, and the fact he lies for his forest family to protect them, it's not a stretch to say he could lie about his relationship with Kokichi too, by playing dumb.
Tbh I have less of an issue with you personally taking Kokichi as a bigger asshole than I do, and more the 'any examination of how the actions and relationships might have more than meets the eye is ultimately making excuses for him' mindset coupled with a rigid take on Kodaka's intent, because where does that leave those with split opinions on it, regardless of whether or not it's intended this way by design?
Note: This is a follow-up to this ask, which in turn was a follow-up to this one. It's part of an ongoing saga, is what I'm trying to say.
I've kept meaning to reply to this, but then I feel too tired to think through it. lol. So here I am, finally making this effort. Let's dive in.
I still can't find this interview for myself unfortunately, but the quote is fun and interesting. Kodaka has been somewhat more overt with how he wants us to interpret certain things via how he's directed us to notice the incongruities between the Prologue and the final chapter's trial, whereas Terasawa is really trying to leave it wide open for the fans to wind up whereever
It's pretty tragic to think that Kokichi might actually consider some of these people his "friends" since he doesn't really let them know him at all and mostly just manuevers them for his intended goals. Makes you wonder: Could Kokichi have genuinely thought of Gonta as a friend to him? I think it's quite believable — though it still wasn't enough to hold him back from manipulating Gonta to commit murder and then die as a result, of course, because he still puts his wrongheaded "mission" above all. A core element of Kokichi, to me, is how he believes the ends justifies the means.
I don't know how I feel about what this says about Gonta. I always wanted him to have more depth than is clearly on display in the game... but "he can lie straight-faced to cover his own murderous actions and no one will ever suspect" isn't necessarily the depth I expected, lol. It does put a new light on him, and not in a great way. I will say that I don't think Gonta lies about his forest family, personally. I've always interpreted that as the biggest waving flag warning us that not everyone is remembering their past accurately, because here he is citing like... Blank's Street Fighter II lore as though it happened to him. lol. So I always took it as a foreshadow of the "Maybe your entire lives are fictional, haha!" twist... whiiiich, of course, I largely reject in spite of that fact :P But I've posted a LOT of asks/answers/thoughts about the ending twists over the years.
Regardless your closing thoughts, though... it's just extremely hard for me to see any world where Kokichi's actions towards everyone else is justified. No matter if his intentions are good, he's still ultimately being extremely cruel and abusive to the majority of the cast. And sure, we could say that that's because he wants to drive everyone away, he wants to be alone and put all the onus on himself... but the entire series repeatedly seems to drive home that trying to handle things alone is never a good idea. And I mean, where do we draw the line??? He's obviously willing to sacrifice someone else's literal life (Gonta, at the bare minimum — and you could argue for others) to pursue his end goals. As I said above, I he's very much an "ends justifies the means" kind of guy, but that's.... not usually considered a good attitude to have, y'know? At what point are we willing to say "That's NOT sympathetic/good behavior, regardless of his intent"? Obviously there are fans who are very much "HE DID NOTHING WRONG" about Kokichi, but that's just a perspective I can't see from where I'm sitting, no matter how hard I lean. Now, if you're asking me whether I believe Kodaka's authorial intent was that we dislike Kokichi overall? I don't honestly know. I do think he's clearly the main antagonist for most of the game. I think we're clearly supposed to think his approach to ending the killing game was wrong. Beyond that, do you forgive him due to his intentions? Do you forgive him if he's just too mentally/emotionally broken to find/use a better approach? One's willingness to forgive someone else their transgressions is up to the individual. I'm not comfortable saying that Kodaka considers him "bad" overall. I don't know, obviously. But I do think, personally, that there's a point where some stops saying "they had a hard life" and and start accepting that no amount of personal demons justifies the actions in front of you. He passes that threshold for me, at least.

Alright imma say it
It totally makes sense why everyone would be more upset over Kaito's death than Kokichi
Idk why theres this sentiment that Kokichi's desth was unfairly overshadowed by Kaito BUT YEAH NO HARD DISAGREE literally none of those remaining classmates would have any reason to show compassion for kokichi over kaito
Shuichi: as he is mc/player character his perspective matters most, so ill say the most on him. Sorry to saiouma fans (dw i do think the ship is cute but honestly works better under different circumstances for the two) but Shuichi has spent more time with kaito. After Kaede's death, it is Kaito (in Kaito's questionable way) who helped get Shuichi's willpower back. Kokichi says as much in ch 4. With shuichi being a very sensitive detective, he needed that pillar of support from kaito, one kokichi, while providing help in trials, doesnt give emotionally. Sure u can argue bias on Shuichi's part, but it is Kokichi's plot in ch 4 that caused him and Kaito to have a falling out, injured and captured Kaito in a bunker, and is the reason Kaito becomes the blackened Shuichi is forced to exposed and now watch be executed
Maki: Self explanatory af, but kokichi exposed her talent to everyone to have her be isolated due to kokichi's own distaste for murderers, regardless of maki's intent. Kokichi is the one who fucked around in ch 5 with her feelings, making her harbor guilt over supposedly killing kaito. It's his plot that gets Kaito killed off as blackened so yeah dont expect sympathy from her
Tsumugi: while idk if confirmed whether Kokichi had gone off Tsumugi's script, if that is the case, Tsumugi would 100% frustrated for kokichi messing up her plotline. Shes devoted her life to dr and has been a writer in numerous prior seasons. To have some kid try to attack the mastermind directly by messing with the game would to her feel like infringing on the game's intended entertainment. Besides, if everyone else hates kokichi, it's best for her to go along with it to blend in
Himiko: there def is a weird dynamic between the two, with himiko falling for exisal kokichi twice which is weird ... but yeah no overall himiko has a negative opinion of kokichi. While he did indirectly help her releasing her bottled up emotions in the end of ch 3, it's Kokichi’s way of doing things, meaning it usually comes off as rude. Pretty sure what Kokichi (and Gonta to an extent) caused in ch 4 is unforgivable for himiko, since literally everyone liked Gonta. Himiko out of everyone believed kokichi was the mastermind, feeling great despair once he revealed the truth of the outside world. While not specific, himiko is more of a case of kokichi's general creation of distrust in others. In contrast, kaito is uplifitng to himiko, being the one to defend her in ch 3 when tenko's death was ignored and moving the group along during ch 5.
Keebo: keebo admittedly has the most sympathetic view of kokichi after the trial, alluding to his "hopeful" nature and such, as well as his logical understanding of kokichi's motive. But generally, kokichi is just robophobic to keebo for the sake of pestering keebo, as well as asking invasive questions (do robots have di-?)
Kaito: without getting into kaito and kokichi's relationship/rivalry, kaito id argue does have the second most sympathetic reflection on kokichi, providing the group with Kokichi’s last words. Tho he does doubt them, mentioning he believed kokichi's plan wouldnt work (i personally hc that as just bluff to make shuichi feel better tho). And since its kokichi who blackmailed him into the plan, kokichi is in a sense responsible for Kaito's death so he'd probably wanna focus on making Shuichi and Maki feel better
Kokichi is my fav dr character but ngl he's a little shit to the remaining survivors. While i as an audience memebr feel terrible for him, im not upset or shocked by the characters' disinterest in his death

Thanks Kaede, you’re awesome!
Tumblr media
Erm thank you, to be honest I didn't know what was going on as I was talking to my friends about Christmas plans one second, and the next I was having the Voids hovering around me with a ghost being responsible. I just played the piano because it was the only thing I could think of.
Tumblr media
Mikado teleported you here to get us out that situation so he probably knew the ghost didn't like piano music.
Tumblr media
Oh really? I'm not pleased about that.
Tumblr media
But still I'm glad that I was able to get you guys out that situation.
Tumblr media
Hey Nikei...listen I have something to say to you.
Tumblr media
Really? What is it?
Tumblr media
I'm...sorry for letting you get captured and tortured by that tentacle monster. In hindsight I should have tried to save both you and Shuichi, but I was scared and I also didn't like some of what your comments to me and the other girls.
Tumblr media
But that doesn't make it right. All you did was ask for cup sizes, which while its a inappropriate and perverted question, doesn't warrant you getting captured and spanked by a hentei monster, while watching a horror series about people turning into monsters. The punishment far exceeded the crime and for that I'm sorry.
Tumblr media
Well...earlier I would have made you get on your knees and beg but that's just my anger talking there.
Tumblr media
And besides you made up for it for saving me and my friends from that ghost girl as who knows what it would have done to us if you didn't show up like that. So yeah I say we are cool.
Tumblr media
OH BOOOOOOO! I wanted there to be DRAMA between you two but all you do is play some music and now you are buddy-buddy?
Tumblr media
You really let me down there Kaede!
Tumblr media
Kokichi...That tentacle monster that capture both Shuichi and Nikei...did YOU have anything to do with it?
Tumblr media
No of course not why would I-
*Suddenly a bullet flies by Kokichi's head*
Tumblr media
AH!
Tumblr media
Since Akamatsu over there isn't the expert at interrogations, I'm gonna ask this instead.
Tumblr media
Did YOU summon that tentacle monster and order it to capture me and Saihara? If you lie...I will KNOW so don't even try.
Tumblr media
And remember Kokichi...Nikei has a supernatural power to see lies. So you CANNOT hide from him.
Tumblr media
Urgh...Divine Luck is the literal worst...FINE! I admit it! I DID summon that tentacle monster. After Sonia talked about Occult Weekly having articles to summon monsters, I grabbed a copy and used it to summon a monster.
Tumblr media
I wanted to have a little fun with Shuichi and I hate how he spends all his time around you and that idiot with his murderer of a girlfriend. Sooo that's why I grabbed Shuichi for some bonding.
Tumblr media
There was LITERALLY a dozen other ways to get Shuichi's attention that DIDN'T involve black magic.
Tumblr media
Nehehehehe, but would it be fun~?
Tumblr media
But why Nikei? I can understand you summoning that thing to bug Shuichi since you seem to be obsessed with him, but you and Nikei don't really interact with each other!
Tumblr media
It was to get that annoying reporter off my back. He kept harassing me for information on my super evil secret organisation and while I normally love to brag about it...
Tumblr media
He was asking too sensitive of questions and due to his stupid power that allows him to see through my web of lies...well he had to go. And I knew that you would prefer Shuichi over that perverted paper boy!
Tumblr media
Unbelievable....you really tried to kill me off...
Tumblr media
Well I'm gonna show you what happens when you fuck with me! I don't care that the Voidship has rules against killing I will make an expection for you!
Tumblr media
You seriously cannot kill me! I'm too cute to die and I have to dodge Makiroll killing me mulitiple times a day!
Tumblr media
DO I LOOK LIKE I CARE ABOUT THAT? YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW OUMA!
*Nikei fires more gunshots at Kokichi but they all miss him*
Tumblr media
Erm...crap this isn't good I got run like now!
*Kokichi runs off with Nikei chasing him, firing more shots*

This is no logical basis to predict survivors but I think it would be funny if the three survivors are based on who are on each of the three, uh, “slides” that the game shows immediately before the trial. Like, it would be aesthetically pleasing in a sense to have one from each one.
finished chapter 4 of dangan ronpa v3 by the way. i wanted to mention that i think both case 3 and 4 are real solid, very good line of reasoning and satisfaction of like. going through the logic. i *am* suspicious of the two new rules that they've set up through both of these chapters though. They really need a mass murder to happen. may happen next chapter i suppose.

In honor of Kaede's birthday, Shuichi decides to use absolutely any of her wishes. He did not expect that her desire would be a gangbang with Miu and Kirumi. All three of them will dominate him all week, if not all his life
Disclaimer: R18 material! If not to your liking then please do not view!
"O-ohhhh, f-ffuuuuuck!! I-It'sssshoooo.,....sooo deeeeeeep!!!!!!"
"S-seeeee?~ I toldja ya I can get your brain all fogged up from my newest, baby!!!"
Shuichi's life hasn't quite been the same since Kaede made that wish:
"I want your ass to be dominated until your nothing more than a cummy slave for me, Kirumi and Miu throughout this entire week~"
...Well...that was direct!!! Shuichi, who had just walked into Kaede's place (thinking that, while her wish might get steamy, he'd still be able to handle it) could only barely utter out an 'okay' before finding himself 'jumped' by not only his pervy crush, but an even hornier Miu and a Kirumi who was swearing up and down this was just a 'request' - she totally didn't want to fuck him silly either~ All of whom made him sign a contract, (sealed with a kiss from all three~) to ensure he doesn't back out of the proceedings,
When it came down to it, every night for the past week, he'd be fucking one girl a day in a set order:
Miu, then Kirumi and finally Kaede. Then repeat up until Sunday.
For Miu, the situation has been her testing out some product. Shuichi would be her 'little guinea pig' testing out all her perverted inventions that she got tired of testing on herself. On Monday, he had been jerked off with special gloves meant to encourage harder orgasms (which earned the inventory spending quite a lot of time clearing her chest, face and hair of his 'stains' due to a particularly strong tug). On Thursday, Miu had put to the test her 'magcum opus' -which was a specialized strap-on equipped with a special lube that increased libido and could even extend to go further than any other dildo before. Something that Miu happily used to gape and stretch out slutty hole of his until he was passing out, muttering only her name and how much he needed to be fucked by her again.
"Ki...kiiiruuuuumii~ Pl-pleaaaaase!! F-faaasteeer! I-I neeeeed it fasteeeeer!!"
"At once, Master Saihara~"
Being under various masters and mistresses with their own set of 'tastes', Kirumi was more than happy to share some of what she learned directly onto Shuichi. Like on Tuesday she oiled up both his and her body before giving him a special 'massage' that involved him lying on top of a massage bed...with a glory hole installed in it. A hole which, once Shuichi stuck his dick in, she had a field day in stroking, licking, blowing off with her hands and breasts until he came hard~ On Friday, Kirumi had taken to dressing do doing a 'personal full-on inspection' of her dear Master. Something involved her hands gliding and prodding all over his body, kissing at his sensitive neck, caressing his thighs...and yes. Eventually leading to her lubing up and fingering his ass with one hand, while Kirumi tugged at his cock with the other. Though, once seeing his shaft still rock hard even after spurting a healthy amount of spunk, she quickly moved to using her pussy as the next viable source of 'treatment'~
"K-kaaaaeeeeeeeeeedeeeeee!! I-I..."
"Heeey~ Don't worry your little head off, Sweetheart...I know what you want~"
It was a strange wish when some thought about it. Why go about inviting Kirumi and Miu to help fuck Shuichi for a week? Well, it was simple!! Kaede also found the other two hot as Hell and what better way to get yourself in the mood than to secretely watch those who you crush on fuck each other silly~ So you can imagine that, when her finally came around, Kaede was feeling very pent-up for her man. Luring him to the auditorium on that Wednesday night, Kaede's main desire was simply for the detective to mating press her right ontop of her piano. Creating a raunchy, melodic chorus of moaning and a strong stench left in the air for any custodian that would happen to come in the early hours of the morning. On Saturday, Shuichi woke up to see Kaede in his room, dressed in a see through pink nightgown....and wearing nothing underneath. Who promptly saw his morning wood and began to ride her ass on it until he dumped a good load into her~
And that was just to start! Showering, eating at the table, the car ride to his agency, invading said agency (much to Kyoko's exasperation) and, as expected, getting him to bed: Kaede was always there and his dick was working into overtime as milked out after last drop of the day from her award winning fingers to 'reminding' Shuichi that her chest was just as milky as Miu's when it came to cock warming~
But what about Sunday? Well, that was his 'contract renewal' period. Does he want to back out now...oooorrrrr, if he stays, he gets fuck all three of them at once this time. Considering the fact this offer was made with all three women standing naked in front of him, licking their lips and clearly wet for his throbbing member...
Yeah, Shuichi accepted the 'contract' with eager vigor. Something that rewarded him of a long night of Miu drilling into his ass again, Shuichi fingering a terribly horny Kirumi who was nibbling on his ear and kissing him passionately - leave just the birthday girl herself to be plowed right in the ass from the same cock she had been working overtime for practically all of yesterday! Something Kaede would be eager to receive for the rest of her and her lovers' lives~
She really got the greatest birthday gift~

DAY 10: DANGANTOBER
Tumblr media
Day 9: Favorite V3 Character (substitute for Clothing Swap)
Guys, I'm literally named 'Mod Tsumugi', I DON'T know what to tell you. It's pretty obvious, Tsumugi is my absolute favorite character from V3. I picked her to be my little persona on here for a reason. I think she's so fun and amazing. She stands out to me, which is ironic, given how often she calls herself 'plain'.
I have a confession to make, but out of all Danganronpa media, I think V3 is my least favorite. Yes, it's still good in my opinion. I love a lot of the characters, the new mechanics and minigames actually challenged me, and Tsumugi being the mastermind was a reveal that ACTUALLY shocked me fairly. But, it's also got it's weak points, such as its ending, and how it handles certain characters and cases.
I didn't expect to like Tsumugi as much as I did. I knew I would enjoy her, by this point in the series, I had very few characters I didn't like. I had already taken a liking to Shuichi, Kiibo, Miu, Tenko, and Angie, and Tsumugi was setting up to be no different. Her intro was already so sassy, with her saying that she was ignoring Kaede and Shuichi in hopes that they'd just leave her alone. She comes off as a major nerd, and like someone I'd want to be friends with IRL. Majority of my friends already act like her, ranting about their various different interests to me, and I started a Danganronpa fan blog.
Through the game, she's very unassuming. I pursued her free time events with both Kaede and Shuichi, and she did not disappoint. She immediately gets into a little argument with Kaede about the validity of her ultimate, since Kaede is sort of downplaying cosplay. They make up though, and come to a sweet consensus. I think Tsumugi and Kaede would bond over those compilations of various, fandom-related songs done on piano.
With Shuichi, Tsumugi immediately tries to suck him into the world of cosplay, and it's really nice seeing her nerd out over her craft, and getting to talk all about it with someone actually willing to go to cons and cosplay with her.
I refuse to talk about her Love Suite. Let me forget that exists, let me believe that every scene in game between her and Shuichi is just really fun and nice, and has nothing to do with whatEVER HAPPENED IN THAT LOVE SUITE-
Eh, it's not as bad as Korekiyo's. Unfortunately, I got Kiyo and Tsumugi's back to back, so I was not having a fun time.
Poor Shuichi's a victim.
I think some of the things surrounding Tsumugi are pretty contrived, such as the cospox thing. I know it was introduced so that the notion of Tsumugi impersonating anyone wasn't brought up again in any other case, but couldn't we have just explained it in a different way? Maybe she didn't have access to their closets, and even then, where would she get wigs? It'd be an easy thing to not resort to, just saying.
Through the game, she's there, she shoots off a funny quip or two, and she slays. Literally, poor Rantaro and Kaede.
I really like her as the mastermind. For the other masterminds (and I have a different definition of mastermind so there's more to me), I feel like they were made to be impossible to guess. Junko's supposed to be dead, Hajime's just as surprised as the rest of us, and the other applicable masterminds, like Monaca from UDG and Tengan from the anime are either obvious, or have no real bearing on the plot. Tsumugi's reveal as the mastermind is actually crazy to me.
She gets found out like so many culprits in Danganronpa do. One tiny slip-up. She says she went to the bathroom at the time of Rantaro's death, and Shuichi immediately clocks it, since he had earlier discovered a secret passageway to the hidden room in the library from the bathroom. From there, her defenses fall like a house of cards, and she's revealed as the mastermind. Tsumugi is the only mastermind who actively lies to your face about who she is, she pretends to be one of the group the entire time, so when she's shown to be evil, your jaw DROPS.
While I think the ending of V3 is weak, Tsumugi's the best part of it. She switches from a polite person, to someone who just eradiates sinister energy. When she's not switching between cosplays of beloved characters at lightning fast speeds, she's revealing bombshells left and right. This whole game is fictional, you're fictional, you're being watched right now by an audience who will be satisfied if you live or if you die, everything you've experienced has been carefully crafted, your memories are false, illnesses that took lives weren't real, your emotions were faked, etc. I think I'd have a mental breakdown if I was any of the V3 survivors.
She relishes in their despair like a true successor to the queen that is Junko Enoshima. The part that really gets me is when she manipulated Kiibo. Over the course of chapter 6, we slowly get more and more information that ultimately culminates into the reveal that Kiibo is a glorified camera, an audience insert. Built to only observe and be controlled by the fans watching outside. He starts freaking out, understandably so, and her response is to simply ERASE HIS ENTIRE PERSONALITY. Talk about disturbing, especially since I love Kiibo. Luckily, Kiibo's goated and manages to maintain enough control over himself to destroy the Academy and pave a way for the survivors to escape.
After losing, Tsumugi celebrates the fact that her plan was a flawless copy, even failing at the end, before dying like Junko. A 'cosplaycat criminal'. This even gives me, the upset viewer, hope that the events of the previous games actually happened in-universe.
After Hajime, Tsumugi feels the most like me IRL. She's nerdy, a little awkward, and self-deprecating with her "I'm so plain" comments, but she can also be witty, cunning, and incredibly intelligent. Without tooting my own horn, I think we're very similar people. That's why she was picked to be my persona on here as well. A nerdy blog for nerdy, Danganronpa things?
Tsumugi quite literally says "I've given my life to Danganronpa!" I've been stuck in this fandom since 2020, I'm just as big of a Danganronpa fan as Tsumugi. My Monokuma and Makoto plushie, Nagito Pop-Up Parade, and Kokichi keychain are staring at me as a write this. My Monokuma onesie is on the way.
The fact that she's also just a Danganronpa fangirl is wild, I know she's probably supposed to be representative of how obsessive the fandom had gotten at the time, but I mean, I'll rant with her <3
To end these off, I like to discuss certain points in-depth. I don't think Tsumugi was intended to be the mastermind, and if she was, I think she was merely written that way like everyone else. First of all, I think Angie was supposed to be the antagonist of the game, and Kokichi was supposed to be the mastermind. After chapter three, where Angie and Tenko die, that's when Kokichi really starts to step up as an antagonistic force. Before then, he was just a tad annoying, a bit of a nuisance, but nothing compared to Nagito and Byakuya. Angie was the one stirring up discussions in trials, and starting a straight-up cult in the Academy (which both Tsumugi and Kiibo were part of). Angie's death was unintended, only happening because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
This might've messed up Team Danganronpa's plans, and they needed to scramble to fix it. Lacking an antagonist, they slotted Kokichi in that spot. That's why in chapter five, Kokichi talks about in-universe things like Junko and the Remnants of Despair. That's the remnants of the original script's plans sticking around. I don't think V3 was meant to be meta in the original plan for that season. Kokichi probably was supposed to be the leader of a new despair movement, and that stuck around when the script changed.
Once he was gone, they were in desperate need of a mastermind character. Now, you can believe Tsumugi did work for Team Danganronpa, after all, the audition tapes look like they could have been recorded in her lab, and she talks like she had a big part in the entire game. What gives me pause is her reaction right before she dies. She goes from being a Junko copy, relishing in everyone's despair and even in the despair of losing at the end, to looking disappointed and upset in her final moments.
Tumblr media
She even looks a little confused. It's not a look of happiness, like Junko, and it's not fear or sadness or anything like that. It's just kind of annoyed. Like she doesn't know what's going on.
Also, I doubt this is what being fired looks like in Team Danganronpa.
I don't know, it's late where I am, but Tsumugi is definitely one of my favorite characters. There's more to her than meets the eye, she's very smart, and conniving. Despite V3's faults, she manages to make the game very interesting and exciting, especially in that final chapter.
I will never talk about the Love Suites unless someone sends asks about it lmao.

This game was amazing! It had me on the edge the entire time I was playing it! And then ending??? When It was revealed that my precious Doleful was the Quartering Duke? I felt...SO betrayed you don't understand.
I was prepared for him to like end up as a potential victim, like maybe his luck in surviving close calls would rum out and we would have to figure out how he got killed despite his danger magnet ability. I was preparing myself for that potential outcome but I was NOT prepared for this.
The ending was SO good but In truth i wish we got more of a follow up ngl. Like Incompetents last line before the epilogue implied that they were gonna do to Doleful what the did with Renegade? Like making him use his abilities for good? At least that's what i got from it?
Tumblr media
I could be absolutely wrong because He did get apprehended on the ship but hey, I would like to imagine that they made him useful like that cuz, despite everything his ability is VERY helpful and useful to solving cases (and im just biased as hell and would hate to see him locked up) Dunno how they would force him to help since the little collar Renegade wore wouldn't work because of his invincibility, but hey maybe he can become a permenant partner to Incompetent who would be able to foresee any potential killings he might try and do. Maybe help him turn that mindset he has around. (Also because I ship them two so badly, I swear every alone moment between them was screaming romantic tension)
Also can we talk about this image of my boi??
Tumblr media
I was in so much denial up until i saw this and had to give in that he was the Quartering Duke. The music it this scene is also so amazing and eerie. Fits perfectly!
Tho the ending line for the game very much confused me. I honestly have no idea what the line implies but it kinda worries me? Especially considering we were brought to the island for the Detective Elimination Project by Senior (who was working with/for Doleful AKA the Duke). So to have the name of our future project be called that exact same thing? Deeply weird ngl. What exactly are they planning on doing? If anyone who played the game knows what that ending entails please do tell me cuz I'm completely confused.
Workaholic turning out to be Diabolic who was the one who kidnapped us? Wasn't expecting that either. Tho that made him immediately climb up to my top three favorite characters cuz he became SO much more interesting and made me wanna know more about him after that everytime he showed up after? Ya homegirl got hella happy and excited. Was very sad when he died THO i was expecting him too. People who follow the trope he did usually end up being killed so I'm not surprised he died tho i was very sad.
I wasn't expecting Renegade to die tho frfr. Thought he would survive till the end so his murder was unexpected for sure!
Overall I loved the game and I hope more people play it and enjoy it so I can talk to more people about it! I know it gets compared to Danganronpa ALOT (Doesn't help that Wato looks alot like Shuichi) but I fr think it's definitely capable of standing on its own.
My top fav 5 characters
1. Doleful (which is why his truth hurt so much ahshs)
2. Incompetent
3. Workaholic
4. Mystic
5. Bookworm
Alright that's all I got ahsjs
Credit to BAI GAMING on YouTube for the screenshots. Was too lazy to open my copy of the game for them so I got them from him!

Why did you two angst it?! This was a cute idea, not Shuichi being quiet as Kokichi bullies him! I said one-sided rivalry! You know what it means? That the other doesn't even realize it's a rivalry! I mentioned adults smiling at Kokichi and calling Shuichi his friend, making him more mad, because I was picturing them seeing Kokichi's behaviour as classic pigtail pulling since again Kokichi probably just doesn't know how to act around somebody he likes because he doesn't get to see an example at home. I had this scenario of them both telling their respective parents about their playtime at dinner time and having very different narratives, Shuichi says they played tag, made funny faces at each other and had a tickle fight, I lost but it still was fun, it's nice to have a friend I can do those things with, and Kokichi's version is I chased him down, he turned out to be immune to my scary faces, as expected of a worthy nemesis, so I had to use my special attack and tickle him until he couldn't breathe, so that's a battle won, for my next plan I need to enlist your help. And then he gets Komaeda to help him make a glitter bomb, which Shuichi ends up perceiving as Kokichi greeting him with confetti the next time they meet and it goes on. For about two years before they start school, but when they become SESLs uh oh, everybody wants to be Shuichi's friend, but that's his nemesis and he should be focusing on chasing Kokichi, and at school there are none of Kokichi's trusted adults that he would listen to or talk about what troubles him at all, and Shuichi's new friends don't like Kokichi very much, so what he does is upping his ante, because any attention is better than no attention, and if his new pranks cross the line sometimes then that's totally on purpose, he is the supreme leader of EVIL after all
REGECT ANGST RETURN TO CUTE
I love this take on it so much because A) I am not crying and neither is Shuichi B) it’s so silly and keeps with the tone of the au a lot better (hurt and a lot of comfort)
I love how dedicated to it Kokichi is! He’s at the dinner table going in great detail on how he Terrorized his nemesis today and totally defeated him and Komaeda just smiles and goes “haha that’s nice Kokichi, make sure to eat your carrots”
Or the mini comic from the other day! Kokichi totally beams Shuichi with a snowball and Hajime is just like “Cmon Kokichi, we don’t do that to our friends, go apologize”
Nobody gets that that’s his rival! And once they all start at HPES it’s even WORSE because now he has all these people he has to compete with for HIS rival’s attention.
When it comes to trusted adults he feels he can confide in, I’m gonna pull a bit of a weird one. This just makes sense to me. I feel like out of every adult Kokichi knows, Gundham would take Kokichi’s rivalry completely seriously and treat it like the VERY SERIOUS matter that it is.
Don’t get me wrong, Kokichi loves Hajime and Komaeda, and they try their best not to hurt/invalidate his feelings, but they’re very much humoring him yknow? Like yeah Komaeda will help Kokichi make a glitter bomb for the next time he sees Shuichi but he doesn’t see it as the passionate declaration of war that it clearly is.
And it’s frustrating!! Take him seriously!! He tried to talk about it with teachers and they just tell him to stop being mean to Shuichi, TO WHICH SHUICHI COMES IN TO DEFEND HIM. RIVALS CANT DO THAT??????
And yknow? As the pranks get worse and the line gets lost in the dust, I feel like he’d get sent to the guidance counselor a ton and has just. Given up on getting them to get it yknow? He gave them chances ages ago and if they just aren’t smart enough to understand his evil machinations, then it sucks to be them. At the very least I think he still talks about it with Gundham, Komaeda, and Hajime, with the latter two at least PRETENDING to understand how him and Shuichi can CLEARLY never be friends.
