This year, my goal was to outdo my post last year—and I was really, really proud of that work so it was a tall order. I followed a similar concept—the two photographs, then and now—but this time, I wanted to explore how becoming Conan was good for Shinichi—as a result, he’s gained so many people who care about him.

Of course, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity for some angst as well :)

Hope you all enjoy this! And happy 2nd anniversary of posting DCMK art to me :) I know I haven’t been terribly active lately but my love for the show and these characters have not changed! Thank you all for enjoying my work!

Ai Haibara is the most interesting character in Detective Conan.

Ever since she appeared the plot moved forward and it became way more intriguing.

It would have been amazing if her past in the organisation and all the trauma it caused were explored, but I guess we'll never have a proper explanation outside of fandom's theories.

Basically we know that she's traumatised and terrified by Gin, but we never discover what happened between them. She's terrified by him just as much as he's OBSESSED with her, but why? We still don't know for certain.

Yes, she's scared of every member of the organisation BUT it's undeniable that she's scared IN PARTICULAR by Gin. She knows everything about him (but little to nothing about any other member of the BO) and he knows EVERYTHING about her, he even recognises her by a single auburn hair- weird??? He also imagined her n4ked TWICE while smiling in a very creepy way- EVEN MORE WEIRD???

In an official drawing/scheme we see the relationships between some members of the BO and when it comes to Gin and Sherry it says “love affair?”, while when it comes to Sherry and Vermouth it says “love rivals?”- LIKE??? At this point it's clear that something very traumatic that goes beyond the simple fear of being killed has happened.

It would be great (and very dark) to explore the trauma that Ai bears for being in a forced toxic relationship with Gin, a relationship that not only has a big age gap but also a disparity of power (plus she was probably manipulated in many ways inside the BO, both by Gin and by any other member who had more power and influence)

The introduction of Akai/Subaru could have helped cause he was in the organisation just like her and he was her sister's boyfriend, he had to know something about her (and her implications with Gin), right? Ai-Akai is a duo that together could be so powerful, they know many and different things about the BO, they would be the key to destroy them.

It would have been awesome if Aoyama had explored all of this in the manga, but I guess he forgot that Gin had this weird obsession for Sherry

ALSO she has suicidal thoughts everytime she thinks that the BO has found her and she's willing to sacrifice her life for her friends. This was just shown but never explored and it pisses me off because?!?!?

We could have had a great development of her character where she learns that her life matters, but instead we got nothing because Aoyama decided that Ai wasn't important anymore and that the BO and Gin suddenly forgot about her

God I love Akai's blind trust in Conan.

In m18 where he didn't have visuals of his target because the criminal shut down the electricity,

He just... have a hunch, a gut feeling that 'that kid WILL be able to do something' and he just waits. Like he didnt even think of a backup plan because he trusts Conan that much, and hey, the kid came through so.

Also in m20? He just went, "You must have a plan, right :) ?" As if he knows even in the most ridiculous, impossible situation that kid will come up with something and he's right yet again.

I swear the apocalypse could happen, and he'd just turn to Conan like, "So? How do we stop the end of the world, boya?"

So the reader doesn't talk much, they are so chill (they don't get angry or show emotions, they're just so quiet around people) but the the reader likes furuya/akai but the reader doesn't show it much, sometimes the reader sits in the corner and watches their phone quietly, ☆ but the reader Blushes a lot when furuya/akai randomly do something romantic ☆

Example >> they blush a lot when furuya/akai kiss them + pin them against the wall + holds their hand + plays with their hair + (add anything you want).

Shuichi enjoys making you blush, it honestly makes him laugh

Really, all he needs to be put into a good mood or to wake up after a tiresome night out is just seeing your cute and flustered face

He just gets a rush from teasing you

Other than your shyness, he very much appreciates your calm and quiet nature, since he's the same way

He enjoys spending the day sitting next to you/having you on his lap while each of you do your own thing, only exchanging a word or two every once in a while

Loves, loves, LOVES suddenly twirling you hair, playing with you fingers or blowing against your neck during these kinds of moments to witness you short-circuit

Starts laughing really loudly at your flustered state

He enjoys your company because it's like a calm constant within his usually loud and hectic life

Now, something he didn't expect was that affection could make your seemingly cool demeanour break

You can't blame him for using that knowledge against you now and again, can you?

Sometimes, he doesn't even do it on purpose

He'll just see you enter Café Poirot and presses a quick kiss to your cheek

He's confused when Azusa starts giggling

But then he turns around to see you utterly flustered and he can't help but grin and kiss you again
