I’ve had an idea for a post T-Dock Aeor fic that I think I’m actually going to incorporate into another fic, but the gist of it is “almost-kisses in Aeor”. I only have two (so far? idk if I need more than two), one from Caleb’s POV and one from Essek’s.

The Caleb one is your standard Aeor whump hurt/comfort fare: they get attacked by monsters, in the process Essek gets terribly injured, things look dicey there for a moment, and when Essek pulls through, Caleb is so relieved that he’s just like “I gotta kiss him” before his brain kicks in and reminds him that that’s not a thing they have done and to kiss Essek now would be a bad idea. It’s not really treading any new ground, but I’m curious to see what my brain will do with it :)

The Essek one is as they are leaving Aeor. As they have been approaching the end of their trip, Essek has been thinking about how goodbye kisses are a thing and how if there were ever a time for him and Caleb to kiss, the end of this trip that has brought them so much closer would be it, right? But when the time comes, the prospect of kissing Caleb—while something he would like to do—is completely overwhelming to him and not in a fun, excited way, so he kinda shuts down internally and fully chickens out. Makes no moves. Caleb senses this awkwardness and discomfort, so he doesn’t make any moves either (was he planning to? idk). so they just. say goodbye and leave.

I think these are both fun concepts that would be fine on their own, but yeah, I think I’m more interested in using them to inform Caleb and Essek’s headspace during the first kiss fic, so look forward to that ✌️

Summary: For the first time you're not going to make it home for the holidays but thankfully you have Daniel by your side

Daniel entered the living room of your apartment with a huge grin upon his face. He gazed at the winter wonderland you had both been working on all day for your first Christmas together, as he saw your figure sat under the soft glow of the tree lights he noticed a quiet sadness in your eyes.

"Baby? What's wrong?" Danny asked you concerned as he noticed you looking down at your phone. He approached you with a gentle hand on your shoulder and a soft reassuring smile.

You looked up at him with tears in your eyes as you shared the weight in your heart. "I'm so sorry babe I just miss my family most during the holidays, it's the first year I won't be able to make it home and it brings back all the memories"

Daniel understood the depth of your emotions more than anyone, thinking back to the year he wasn't allowed to fly back home to his family. You were his saviour through that dark period and he was there to return the favour.

Daniel pulled you into his comforting embrace. "It's okay to cry. But I'm here for you, Christmas is about being with the ones you love and we can create our own memories"

You hugged him tightly as he soothed you, before carrying you into your shared bedroom. "Now you need a nice long bath while I go get you a surprise, don't come out until I get you okay?" He asked before putting you down and placing a kiss on your nose.

"okay baby I love you" you said giving him a quick peck before heading off to your ensuite to run yourself a bath, you slowly climbed in feeling the warmth of the water relax your muscles.

Some time later you had gotten out and was now sat down drying your hair as you saw Daniel enter the room with a huge grin on his face. "Okay it's ready!" He said with an excited chuckle.

You couldn't help but giggle. "Danny what have you been doing for the past hour?" You asked him curiously, wondering what the heck he's been up to.

"Oh you're about to find out" he said as he helped you stand up. "but you've got to close your eyes i want it to be a surprise" he instructed as he held his hands over your eyes and guided you to the living room"

"okay babe" you said with a chuckle as he walked you to the center of the room before lifting his hands away. "Okay open em!" He said really excited as he watched you slowly open your eyes and gaze around the room. Which was now adorned with lots of decorations, the table full of familiar snacks and your favourite Christmas song on the radio.

"Oh Danny, this is amazing" you said with tears in your eyes as you turned to face him. He still had a huge grin on his face "I changed the lights on the tree to those warm white ones you always talked about, but I left the star off cause that was always your job at home, although I'll have to lift you up so you can put it on" he teased with a laugh as he pulled you in for a tight hug.

"I got all your favourite snacks too so we can have them while we watch a Christmas film and bake cookies. I was going to surprise you with all this on Christmas eve but I figured you needed it now. I hope you like it" he said as he planted a soft kiss to your forehead before smiling hopefully at you.

"I love it baby thank you so much, this is the best Christmas present I've ever had" you said with a big smile as you peppered kisses all over his face, hugging him tightly.

He hugged you tighter bringing your head to rest on his chest as he whispered in your ear "you're not alone love you'll never be. old traditions or new ones, we can do them both together and I'm grateful to make new memories with you"

And that's just what you both did, having the best Christmas you've ever had.

SO funny (wonder how that'd go down differently since we saw them being bff besties at Garden Cup) - Possessive Ben is a guilty pleasure, hehehe. IN 5TH PLACE:

At 93 notes, we have my baby, "Shattered"!!! "Shattered" ended up becoming a mini-passion project for me (clearly). What was meant to be a mid-sized blurb ended up progressing to 10k words - how that happened is beyond me. Everytime I thought I was done and ready to close up and conclude, there'd be another part, another bit that I'd want to add. It even got to a point where I'd be on my bus home from work or college, almost falling asleep when I'd get woken up with more inspo, lol. It was my first time writing angst in a very, very, very long time but looking back now, I really truly enjoyed it and I'm quite proud of it! Maybe more angst reqs in my future? I’m leaning towards YES

IN 4TH PLACE:

Literally as I'm writing this, I just got another like for that freaky ass blurb. As much as I'm excited to write more Dom/Elliot stuff, ALL OF YOU PEOPLE ARE SOOO HORNY? LIKE EVERY SINGLE INBOX REQ IS SMUT? EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Idk how many times I can reinvent the wheel, so to speak, but I'll sure as hell try....hehehe

At 143 notes, we have "Game, Set, Match" part 1 - Ben Shelton. AWWWW MY BABY, MY LOVECHILD! This was the first ever STORY and I'm so glad it became a 3 part story too. Triple Platinum, I know that's right!!! I really loved making this, I didn’t plan to add the Instagram element, especially since I’m usually terrible at fake IG fic stuff (finding the right images is so limiting). But for GSM, it just felt right. I think my writing has improved a lot since then, too. I always laugh at my Ben posts because my A.Ns are always like "oh brother a LONG ONE HERE" and then my next post is even longer 😭 Thank u fr for the love on this one, because THAT'S when I really got a whole lottaaa support and love and it rly blew me out of the water, I could cry.

No surprises here, it was meant to be. I say that because I had this ask sitting in my inbox and decided to do a poll asking what I should post first - after tagging all the tags, I should've known it'd be crazily ratio'd by the Jude community on here, hahahhaha. I think it was something like 80% for Jude and the rest scattered throughout? This was my first ever Jude blurb, and I think it'll be one of many. I have a couple in my inbox but the future is there for me and writing about that silly guy.

Was that as interesting for you as it was for me? I've been meaning to talk and reflect to u all inbetween the whole "Advent Calendar" series.

If anything, these stats tell me more about you guys, what you want to see and how I should continue going forward. I always want to write about things that matter the most and stick with you, fics that have you coming back to reread and enjoy.

Having representation in my characters and creating a world where you can sink into time and again is one of the best and only things I can give, so you bet by all means neccessary I don't want to half-ass it.

I might not know where your headspace is at, or what's going on in your life but I hope whatever happens, I can have a little space right here, make you laugh, smile and feel things that take your mind off of reality. At least until you finish reading.

As for the rest of the year, I still have my finals and work this weekend and as the season comes closer, I'd like to spend it with my loved ones while I still can :) The "Advent Calendar" will continue as per scheduled!

I hope to write some more before NYE comes round but we'll see. It's never a burden to write, it's always a destresser, but you bet I'll be enjoying company with family and friends too. That's all I've got for 2024, I can't wait to continue creating silly little imaginary situations in 2025 <3

⛔ Do you have a fic you started, but scrapped?

I prefer to think of most of my WIPs as in long-term holding patterns, but yeah, there's a couple that will prolly never get developed further. There's one I wrote to entertain my Discord girlies (g/n) as an canon-divergence to 1x7 where Jack is drunk enough to black out before whippies part II & drunken Ed goes to see about Stede reading in his bunk. And I quoted entirely too much "Tess of the D'urbervilles" and there is drunken knifeplay.

🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.

I'm constitutionally incapable of not comparing Stede to the sun or going on at length about Ed's incredible eyes. You know it's an envinoveritas joint if Stede is deeply oblivious or, at the very least, nobly restrained when it comes to Ed, because he's fundamentally incapable of believing that anyone, much less *Ed*, could be attracted to him. Oh, also I'm a little obsessed with Ed creatively swearing in his head - if the fic is from his POV, there WILL be at least on instance where he's all "Fucking fuck a motherless poxy cock-swallowing twat waffle of a duck taint in hell."

🤡 What's a line, scene, or exchange you've written that made you laugh? I think I'm a pretty funny writer, but I don't really laugh at my own jokes. That said, I'm not above a self-satisfied smile. Here's a scene from a Taskmaster AU I've been pecking away at for the entertainment of my Discord girlies (g/n). The premise is that, while recording the tasks, Stede got assigned a solo task to send cheeky texts to Greg's phone every day for five months, only to find out at the record for the in-studio part of the show that Greg hadn't received a single one; Stede had sent them all to the wrong number. Which started to text back after the episode aired...

He climbed out of bed, wincing just a little when he stretched and cursing his old bones. He went to the bathroom, brushed the bog-taste from his mouth, pulled on some clean clothes, then grabbed his phone to go downstairs and put on some tea. A calming brew might be just the thing, depending on what William S. Hornberry, Esq. had to say. Will answered on the second ring. “It’s already on telly, Stede. You really just need to put Channel 4 as far from your mind as possible,” he sighed into the phone without any preamble. “No - I mean, yes, I know. This is not about that. Well, adjacent to that. What I mean to say is I got a reply. From the person I’ve been texting in error I mean.” There was another sigh down the line, and the sound of Will taking a sip of a calming brew of his own. “Okay. Let’s have it.” “What?” “Read it to me - what does it say?” Stede picked the Taskmaster phone up off the counter and thumbed the power button. He undid the lock screen (a picture of Greg’s disapproving face staring out at him), and pulled up the text window. “Oh! There’s more since I went to bed last night!” he said. Will waited in polite silence. Stede cleared his throat, scrolled back up to where the messages started, and read it all off to him. “‘Loved the show tonight.' 'Been loving the texts even more.' 'Keep ‘em coming.' 'Sexy.' That’s all the stuff from before I went to bed. The new stuff says: ‘You deserved more than 2 points for Kings Quest. That game rocked.' 'Let me know when you’re done playing with floppy things. I’ve got something hard I think you might be interested in.’ So what do we think? Doesn’t seem like they’re inclined to sue me, right?” “Well, if he is, he won’t have a leg to stand on now that he’s flirting back,” Will answered with a hearty chortle. “Flirting? What - no! Just being cheeky, surely? Giving as good as they got.” Another heavy sigh heaved its way down the line. “Stede, I say this not just as your lawyer, but, after all these years, someone I hope you think of as a dear friend. You don’t have the best track record when it comes to realizing someone is flirting with you.” “I think I’d know if someone was flirting with me.” Stede huffed. “Name one time you’ve seen someone flirt with me and I didn’t recognize it.” There was a long silence. So long that Stede pulled the phone away from his ear to see if the call had dropped. “Just-” Stede pulled the phone back to his ear quickly, “Just send yourself screencaps from the Taskmaster phone, ok? Just in case it gets deactivated? That way you’ll still have the evidence. Leave it to me to prove intent.” “Okay,” Stede agreed. “Do you want me to forward it to you as well?” “God no - I don’t want your Etonian smut. i apparently have not seen enough specialists so i have an oncologist now. gotta catch 'em all and shit

tl;dr mystery mass did turn out to be technically cancerous. i do not remember the specific type off the top of my head yet but its a weird rare one, because of course it is. luckily its a kind that stays very localized, so it's not gonna pop up anywhere else in my body, and my surgeons did manage to remove all of it with good margins. i am now down the 3rd and 4th part of my duodenum and my gallbladder (which, fun fact, did have signs of chronic gallbladder disease, so i guess i didn't escape that family trend lmao). like all cancers, theres a chance it'll grow back, but if it does, it should be in roughly the same place and is unlikely to be fatal, just annoying

i've got a fuck off big scar building down the centerline of my abdomen, from sternum to groin. it is gnarly as fuck and i am excited to see how it heals. i already have some ideas on how to incorporate it into my tattoos. you can see pictures of it here if you're a morbid freak like me. be sure to look at my reblogs for updates, there will probably be several contained there down the line, for posterity :>

the first like 18hrs post surgery were uh. not fun since it took A WHILE to find some sort of non oral pain management that would actually work for me, so thats great, but sans ng tube, i'm getting by pretty okay with ibuprofen and tylenol with the occasional non-standard opioid. i've been home since tuesday, oct 10th; had a check in with a gp yesterday, oct 13th, and i'm healing well. staples will be removed on the 18th and theoretically i'll be able to keep them >:3c

i'm back to eating semi-normally. still on bowel rest, but it's not as strict as it was before and it's mostly because i am paranoid vs anything required by my doctors. i haven't been nauseous since i went under on oct 4th which is absolutely wild, and i've been experiencing hunger at normal, regular intervals including being able to eat breakfast shortly after i wake up, which i haven't been able to do without a high chance of barfing it back up immediately since i was a teenager

first oncology appt is on oct 23rd. sounds like itll be mostly setting up a plan and schedule for things like regular scans to watch for regrowth and possibly referrals for genetic testing

my pfml back pay came innnnn god only last week holy shit, and my wife got their big chunk of school loans for living expenses so we are mostly fine there. i am arranging with a local queer to come a couple times a week to help with regular chores and stuff at 40 bucks a pop. if anyone would like to sponsor one of those visits or some take out for us, i'm @/sumomomochi on both pp and vnm0

This one is hard because I don't often write humour, but this bit from Cooking with Chaos was fun (tbh that whole fic is a riot XD):

“Alan, what are you doing?” Scott appeared at his side as he leant over his shoulder. “They’re supposed to be fingers.”

“You think they should be fingers.” Alan pointed at his brother, and then placed his hand on his chest. “I am trying to be creative.”

He gestured to one of the shapes he had cut out and placed neatly on the baking tray. “What do you think that one is?”

“A sausage?” Scott said with no hesitation.

Alan gasped in offence.

“It’s Thunderbird One!” He whined.

“Oh.” Scott paused for a long moment as he stared at the cookie some more. “I guess I can see it.”

🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.

Usually a lot of pain and angst but also a lot of comfort. I quite often will mention if the character is laughing or smiling. I also draw attention to what their eyes, breath, or hands are doing. Basically just a lot of body language

Like for example, when writing dialogue I will always incorporate what movements and emotions the characters are portraying as they speak

💋 First kiss fics. Love em or hate em?

Depends. If the whole fic is just about their first kiss, that can be pretty boring. If the fic is about other stuff going on and amongst it all they have their first kiss, that can be exciting and fun

Just a few days ago I read a fic about two characters having their first kiss in the hospital after one of them had nearly died sacrificing themself to save the other. That's an example of how a first kiss fic can be good because there was a lot more going on that made the fic exciting, and when they kissed it just made the fic better

🌞 Do you have a preferred time of day to write?

I tend to get my creative energy more in the evening. Which means I have stayed up many a late night writing because I am in The Zone and know as soon as I go to bed and wake up in the morning, the motivation will be gone XD

Because I had ideas and no one else was writing them, so I knew I had to do it myself

I do quite a bit of research, so my search history is very questionable at this point

I'm guessing a lot of people want to know about this. Em, I'm going to go ahead and say there will be major character deaths, but not the ones you expect. In my cranium, there's going to be two big bits of confrontation; the ship (which we all knew was going to happen) and the final big battle (debating whether to write this properly, or to pan over it and hit the aftermath). So there will be loads of intense things that will lead to some major character injury too but, fear not, I'm not cruel enough to axe off extremely important characters (looking at you Cameron) but I can't say any more because of spoilers!

2. Well that's an easy question because bestie and all around amazing idea creator @be-the-glenn-to-my-maggie came up with the idea of the humans leaving Pandora and never coming back, and then mentioned Eywa blessed Spider and my brain went 'huh good idea mine now'. And I was already looking for something more to write about Spider because the inspiration muse has had me by the throat since January and isn't letting go.

3. Good question!! I will always write fanfiction, even when I've published my original ideas because it's an amazing creative outlet and a great way to practice new ideas. Bestie @be-the-glenn-to-my-maggie came up with an ikran racing au because of an ask I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) and again my brain just went yes so that might be in the works after ftnadol. But at the moment there isn't anything concrete, but when something comes I'm sure it'll whack me upside the head XD

4. Oooooo other fandoms. Well Stranger Things is a big love of mine (I actually have a Steve x Male OC fic which has been gathering dust which incorporated Irish Mythology that I need to resurrect), as is Star Wars, and Umbrella Academy, and Marvel, gosh there's loads to count up. In terms of what I'd like to write for, maybe dipping my toes into Percy Jackson? Because of the TV show? OR! Spider verse because Miles is my boy. I'm not entirely sure though because I never quite know until an idea does suddenly pop into my brain. Haikyuu might be something to try, but who knows! Certainly not me~

5. Ooooo interesting well! If you didn't know I play two instruments; harp and violin, so music is a massive part of my life. I teach swimming some evenings, and absolutely love to do it recreationally. I game, and am very excited for Spider-Man 2. I'm also self teaching myself korean, which is very fun and interesting because I'll be able to understand half the music I listen to XD of course, this is also whilst writing up a storm every week!

thank you,,thank you for asking me this one I am GOING to take this opportunity to ramble while I can,,

For a few weeks, I've been working on an au that I've been calling "Sentinel Species" (though I'm unsure if that's remaining the name) and it focuses on a bit of a different interpretation of the canary curse.

The core of it stays the same: Jimmy dies first. As for the mechanics it does lean harder into the idea of this being completely out of his control. So, the end is nigh the warning must go out and Jimmy is led to whatever it is that causes his demise as per the corresponding season—but not on his own volition, free-will disregarded.

That is just the base, though, the major difference is as follows:

I've seen Jimmy referred to often enough as a harbinger of death, but in some places that phrase is used to refer to someone who not only ushers death and disaster as the canary curse already does, but who also possesses a heightened sense of death or impending death. His own deaths don't count because they're not natural, they're pre-planned, but for everyone else in this game? With so many people dying all the time and in such ways? Jimmy's sensitive to that.

I'll provide an example before I say more: Jimmy returns to his little exile house below magic mountain session 6 of last life to set a boogey trap, and say Scar comes down to ask why he's returned. They're talking, and Jimmy stops to say, "sorry, could you speak up? I'm having a hard time hearin' you." For some reason, he cannot stop hearing the sound of running water. Later that session, Scar drowns, sending him to his red life.

It could be instinctual, just a feeling, or a hallucination, even— anything, really. Imagine it's like a radio station that only Jimmy is tuned into; the downside is that—if we're sticking with the radio metaphor—theres a lot of feedback, some things are lost to static. It doesn't happen all the time, and sometimes it doesn't happen linearly. The sense is not meant to be helpful; it's never a warning, purely an awareness. It's often non-specific and more unsettling than anything else, but once he starts putting the pieces together it becomes hard to ignore. So the au (currently) follows Jimmy through the three completed seasons of the life series where he's not just the canary, but also a harbinger of death in this sense. As time progresses, he starts to get the hang of what he's feeling and experiencing and what it all means, and being Jimmy he's bound to feel like he has to do something about it—the problem is, well, who would ever believe him?

I finally got up to date on the Campervan AU a few days ago; I’ve been meaning to send this for ages, but dejumbling my thoughts took longer than I thought.

I really liked the way you’ve incorporated Grace into the respective reimagining of each plot, not just keeping her to the sideline, but making sure she gets an amount of screen time compared to everyone else while also writing her in such a way that her decisions and dialogue feels like something she’d do in-canon. Which, similar to your handling of Jamila and other supporting characters w/ limited screen time, is really impressive. I also liked how you were able to tweak a few endings so they weren’t so bleak - maybe I’m a sap, but I was genuinely heartbroken watching Vilma and Benni’s fates during Orphan 55 ngl.

Similar to the show itself - altho given the au’s overarching plot you do have a bit more leeway here as far as spreading breadcrumbs - your ability to have Koschei and co. have an almost tangible presence in each ch. is just Great, no notes (I do admit, however that much like our beloved, if not over-frazzled Doctor here, I think about this Master entirely too much. So, I probably would’ve been thinking them all plotting in the shadows even w/o the occasional mention here and there). Speaking of, I love Gat sm and I’m equally excited as I am worried about her being about to scheme w/ Koschei bc that’s just asking for all kinds of trouble - especially as we making our way towards the end of s12 and all that entitles. I do wonder how a canonical interaction between them would go, she’d probably be as wary of him as Ashad was tbh.

But above all, I think what I enjoy the most about this series is the little moments you’ve fit in-between all the bigger, more intense ones. I’d make this ask longer than it already is by listing my favorites, but I wanted to make sure I mentioned how much like ‘em.

Ahhh thank you so so much!!! I absolutely love hearing your thoughts! <3 I can't remember when you sent me this ask, so I think I might have posted a chapter or two since you sent this - so I hope you've enjoyed those chapters just as much as all the others!

With regards to Grace - I'm so SO happy that you love her in this story because I just adore writing her! I was actually very concerned that I would accidentally end up side-lining her when writing the stories, simply because she's obviously not in all of the s12 episodes that have inspired all the fics. But when I started the au, I made notes on pretty much all the main cast to figure out what they wanted, what they needed, and some flaws and strengths that they had, so I could work out how to show their development over the whole series - and so I did that for Grace too! Which actually opened up SUCH an interesting thing, because in the process of deep diving on her character (by watching the episodes where she's there/talked about) and also on Aaron's character, I could sort of...extrapolate a few things. Like if Graham says in Resolution that family means everything to Grace, then how much must it have broken her heart when everything happened with Aaron, and Ryan's mum dying? And then, of course, there's stuff I could extrapolate from the set up of the story - like, the Doctor lowkey lives with them half the time for the sake of the plot, but what kind of person invites someone like the Doctor into their life like that? And asking that question gave me some really interesting answers about Grace as well as Graham.

Regarding character voices though - I'm genuinely SO glad that everyone rings true to how they sound in the show! I think my trick with that is that I can kind of 'hear' the characters in my head - and some characters are easier than others. Grace is quite distinctive, for some reason, so if I can 'hear' her saying the lines, then the lines make the cut. Same with all the others. I actually find, of all people, Jack to be one of the hardest characters to 'hear' in my head - except for in Campervan AU, where I find him really easy to write! It's extremely odd. (Also SKSKSK Vilma and Benni BLESS you actually have to thank my beta for saving them - she was like 'make grace being there make a difference', which I really liked, so they got to live!)

And then ahhHH yessss Gat and Koschei!! I'm so glad Kosch comes over as a tangible presence, even when he's absent - I feel like that comes from me being as obsessed with him as the Doctor is, bless. But ahhh yess they're so much fun to write, honestly. I'm excited for you guys to see more of them!!

Generally speaking, I’ll try just about anything. From your fluffy little one shots to your 100k+ multi chapter angst no comfort beasts of a fic, I’m willing to take it on!

But I do have some boundaries regarding this, ones that I don’t think will really pop up but better to say and not risk it!

1. No porn no plot type deals

- This is entirely because I just. Don’t care for that! I’m aroace, I don’t find that stuff fun or exciting to read. It’s mostly just awkward. This extends to cover things like kink fics, lemon, smutty stuff, whatever- if the main point of the fic is sexy times, I’m just not gonna read it!

2. No one shot collections

- Kinda. I’m not super interested in reading a fic that’s just 30 or so unrelated one shots. If the prompts are all incorporated into one story- great! I’d love to check it out! But otherwise, that’s 30 mini fics all glued together into one heap. I’ll pass.

3. Nothing crazy long

- Now, it’s often a point of contention between me and my free time, but I love longfics. I adore getting drawn into a story and resurface 200k words and a week later a changed man! But uh. A million words is a bit much! So just be conscious of how long your fics are if you want them read in a timely manner. I think the longest I’ve read in a “reasonable” time was around 700k words? But even then, that’s a bit much!

4. No xreader stuff

- I’m fine with self inserts, OCs, whatever! I just don’t care for reader fics, it’s not my jam and I just can’t get into em. Second person fics don’t apply btw I mean expediently with the reader character as the focus. On the other hand, I adore self inserts! Isekais! OCs! I think they are absolutely fascinating, so please do send those my way :D

I say this as a person who doesn’t read a lot of Poe fics when I defintely should because SAM! your fic has changed my molecular composition! ITS JUST SO FUCKING GOOD AND YOU PUT SO MUCH LOVE INTO THIS PIECE AND AAAAAAAAAA <3 

BUT AAAAAAAAAAAAAA( i feel so !!!  sometimes because I just can’t describe how I feel about your work because it’s just so good but like the word good isn’t the word I wanna use to describe it because it’s like otherworldly amazing!)

ANYWAY! sorry for being a geek but I just love how you start off this piece with dialogue because it immediately draws everyone in and kinda sets up the things about Poe being a shameless womanizer (which we all love). It also has a fun game that makes us understand the relationship between them and there close bond! 

I am going to be quoting so much parts of this fic and this line right here is just oh so scrumptious!

“Just a funny, kind idiot who once knocked himself out falling backwards off a repulsorcraft, who has decidedly uncool penchant vintage Felucian music, and who always tries his absolute hardest to do the right thing.”

I love that you incorporate this because YOU NAILED POE CHARACTERIZATION ON THE HEAD! He is a lovable guy who has so much stories and experiences and feelings that ultimately just wants the best for everyone! GOD SAM! it just so good it makes me want to chew the words on the screen (not in a weird way of course). 

Also I love that Poe catches what reader means when Kip had fun and she... well. He just cares for her a lot and it just shows with the way he doesn’t want to drop the topic. 

PFFFFT the way that he just calls Kip pathetic makes me chuckle a little. AH and the crescendo of the conversation, reader never experiencing an orgasm with someone else. OH! hes so sweet thought I love that he firmly eliminates the thought that something was wrong with reader that she couldn’t cum during sex.  

Okay but Sam! DUDE, i really love the way you make these conversations they have so realistic, they shift from topic to topic, going back to something they wanted to expand on. It makes the next moment of Poe offering his help that much more important!

AH I love the imagery that you paint in regards to a crash landing and the current emotions that are being felt right at Poe’s door. 

“You left your socks here last week, again. I keep finding ‘em mixed in with mine. I go to put a pair on and can only fit half my foot in before I realize what’s happening.” 

This made me giggle and it was a nice moment for reader to ease up but those nerves are killing her and he immediately picks it up I love it. 

ACK MY HEART MY HEART OH!!! Reader tearing up and Poe immediately comforting her, easing the worries and telling the beauty he sees and it makes me weepy liKE STOPP I’M TEARING UP A BIT! 

AAAAAAAAAA my heart aches because I am to the max on the yearning scale for Poe like he’s just so kind easing reader into this situation making everything slow and steady. 

“You gotta talk to me,” he reminds you.” 

OKAY BUT WHY IS THAT SO HOT! IT’S DEFINTELY BECAUSE OF THE CONTEXT RELATED TO IT BUT SHIT DUDE THIS IS SO FREAKING GOOD!! 

GODDDDDD AND THEN HE SLOWLY EASES HIS FINGERS IN YOU! Making any anxieties leave you especially the comment of being so wet for him and then TELLING YOU TO STOP THINKING FOR ONCE GOODNESS!

Holds most memories of the system’s medical trauma (though is distanced from it, seeing it from the POV of their doctor), as well as ableist ideas about alter creation/personhood (stemming largely from Steven after finding out he was a fictive in the Duat, as well as Marc’s own struggle to recognize himself as an alter)

Initially is unaware that he is a headmate, very much seeing things as “I’m fine but you guys need help”

Formed additionally as a way to process separating from Khonshu’s abuse, somewhat clinging to/reinforcing ideas that Khonshu pushed on the system of distrust in reality and reliance on a caretaker figure

Continues to harm the system through digging up trauma memories and enforcing harmful ideas because that’s how he’s able to process the trauma he holds

Eventually and very slowly is able to discover and accept his place as an alter in a system, and starts trying to work towards a more constructive role

Is eventually (like after a lotttt of work) able to shift into more of a gatekeeper/organizer role, giving the system structure and support that it needs, and creating a safe internal space for headmates to process trauma memories and their own systemhood

Doesn’t front

Moon Knight (no specific source but is sometimes treated as or referred to as something more separate from other established alters)

A fragment that forms after the system separates from Khonshu, mainly displaying/spreading either feelings of anxiety and hopelessness, or feelings of anger

Formed from a piece of Marc that was always sure he was going to be stuck serving Khonshu forever, and who wasn’t able to move on after that reality was broken

He is solely Moon Knight, dehumanized from being anything else by his perception of being perpetually stuck in the role of Khonshu’s tool

He doesn’t think they’ll ever be free, and views himself as a monster, always stuck in the past, always stuck in Marc’s worst days in the suit

He rarely fronts, and doesn’t interact very often with other headmates, mostly sticking to himself or not really appearing at all, except in moments of either very high distress, or extreme joy at being free, where he can often blur with whoever’s fronting and either increase their anxieties, or pull back their enthusiasm

Jake is the one most aware of him, as he comes close to front pretty regularly while Jake is on missions with Khonshu

have you got any hcs for alucard's teeth?

As a matter of fact, I do! Though it's more like general vampire teeth headcanons I just like to use and then incorporating how they get drawn in Hellsing

I'm a big fan of the Gonzo anime's commitment to giving Alucard those big, pointy top canines that are so iconic to vampires:

His design in the first anime as a whole is a preference of mine, though when I draw any vampires, I also like to give them a pronounced bottom set of canines too. Like so:

I just like the look of em, and for Alucard specifically, I also like that in the anime his teeth are often drawn slightly crooked, even in closeups. It gives a nice gnarly feel, and I've always liked imperfections.

So usually, when I write or draw the vampires, I keep those fangs when they're idle (Seras gets them too) and then imagine that the way they're often drawn with a full set of pointy teeth is an involuntary response when they're ready to go on the aggressive or are otherwise hungry/murderously excited/etc. The many sharp teeth help in combat and in feeding by piercing more skin. I actually described it in my fic From Ares:

Pushing himself [Alucard] up into a better position, his blunt teeth shifted into points. The skin was poked, then pierced. Walter didn't flinch.

Somewhat related, and this is more of a theory than a headcanon, but it seems like to turn a human into a vampire, you only need to (or perhaps HAVE to) bite with the two canines. This is seen at the end when Seras reveals she still has bite wounds from Alucard and it's two holes (the two holes are also seen in Dracula and considering who Alucard is... well)

Gallacrafts - Choose your own space adventure 🚀🌌🔫🌠

You guys know I love my mixed media paper crafts for @gallacrafts, and I even got to incorporate another thing I love, outer space. So excited to have the chance to goo back to a pervious theme as I missed out on the start of this wonderful monthly fun. I picked October 2021: choose your own adventure

And even a short fic to go with it !

As Tami enters the back door into the Gallagher kitchen, she is immediately suspicious as both Lip and Debbie are relaxing at the table childless. Even though they were supposedly tag teaming kid duty today, while she worked a full bridal party at the salon this Saturday.     

Debbie is scrolling her phone while munching on a plate of snacks, that were probably at one point Franny and Fred’s. Lip on the other hand is busy with his latest knitting project, concentrating hard on the green yarn transforming into another kids hat in his lap.  

“Alight, I gotta know, what have you two done with the kids?”

The pair of siblings finally acknowledge that she’s in the room and give her a quick and hurried “Shhh”, then point into the living room.

Quietly Tammi peaks around the corner, at first seeing no one. Then hears quite giggles and exaggerated imitation explosion sounds. All that can be seen are four sets of shoes, two large and two small peaking out from under the star blanket that covers the hiding space under the front stairs.

Mickey’s brown boots are farthest away from her with a pair of tiny red shoes, belonging to her son, wiggling excitedly slotted between the larger ones. Obviously enjoying whatever game is taking place while sitting in his uncle’s lap. Even Tami gets a kick out of how much her little Freddie has taken to him lately, and the fact that Lip still gets all flustered over it.

The extra-large sneakers bookending small bouncing purple ones confirm that Franny too is having a blast with her uncles and cousin under the stairs. Lately the little redhead has taken every opportunity to team up with her just as redheaded uncle when she can, clamming ‘us gingers need to stick together’, how can Ian say no to that.

Standing silently beside the chair she hears an epic space battle unfold.

“Okay Fred, should we fire the mustard or ketchup phasers?

“Kat!”

“Ketchup it is! Ready, Fire!”

“Your hotdog rocket is no match for our slime ship Mick!”

“Yeah! Our slime ship!”

“Come on Fran, get the slime bombs ready for attack.”

“Good thing our outer bun haul will protect us from your gross ass ship”

“Gooos!”

“Shoot em, get em Fran!”

“Incoming! Pew Pew!”

“Come on little man, we’ll swing outta the way behind these fucking weird popcorn asteroids!”

“Voom voom”

The strange, yet entertaining adventure continues in the living room as Tami returns to the kitchen.

“How long have they been under there?” she whispers to Lip

“At least an hour, but I’ll take the free babysitting”

Writing smut without cringing the whole time? How do you do it.

Writing Smut 101: Overcoming Smut Shame

CONTENT WARNING: NSFW RELATED CONTENT BELOW.

The short answer, nonnie, is: you don’t. 

That is to say, writing smut is always kind of cringe—especially if you’re new to it, or simply “not in the mood” to write. 

But rest assured, feeling embarrassed is completely natural. The trick is learning how to overcome the cringe when it does happen, instead of letting it deter you.

I’m going to break this up into a few sections: 1) Why you might be feeling this way, 2) How I, personally, combat the issue, and 3) Some more tips that might help you get the ball rolling.

1. Why You “Cringe”

It’s important to find the root cause of any form of writer’s block so you can pull the weed out instead of just trimming it back. Smut writer’s block is its own special brand, and generally, the main issue writers have when it comes to smut is stigma.

Speaking openly and honestly about sex, in Western society, is still very much a taboo.

No matter how “progressive” we like to think we are, the inherent shame surrounding pleasure-seeking experiences, and the detailing/consumption of them, has been ground into us since we learned how to understand the concept of gratification.

And I’m not just talking about sexual gratification. This applies to everyday things, as well. Eating, shopping, relaxing (or doing virtually anything in capitalist society that does not directly contribute to capitalism).

So it makes sense that you would feel any amount of embarrassment, awkwardness, or “cringe” when writing smut. It’s something our society teaches us is wrong to want. Unfortunately, that shame translates to writer’s block when we sit down in front of the computer.

A lot of this blockage might stem from not giving ourselves permission to write the thing.

We’re staring at the blank document, knowing we want to write smut, and suddenly the thoughts start streaming in: This feels wrong, is this wrong? What if someone comes in and looks over my shoulder while I’m writing? Am I describing this right? Is this too unrealistic? I have NO idea what I’m doing, and everyone is going to know it.

These are all perfectly normal thoughts, and definitely ones I still have from time to time. But they’re also probably the direct cause of why you feel so blocked. Luckily, I have some bits of advice to give you on how to unblock yourself.

2. How I Combat Smut Block

✦ First, when the intrusive thoughts occur, instead of ruminating on them, think of each one as an impermanent object. You can use any metaphor, but I like to use the imagery of leaves:

Each negative thought is a leaf floating down the river of your mind. If you focus only on the leaf, you’ll exert a lot of energy running to try and keep up with it, consequently miss everything else around you. But if you acknowledge that leaf as a temporary part of the scenery, and let is pass, you can process and appreciate the beauty of your surroundings a whole lot better.

Remember: you are separate from your thoughts. You are not defined by them. The things you think sound stupid might be incredibly exciting to someone else. 

If you can string a sentence together, you can write smut. This is all part of giving yourself permission to write the thing that makes you feel uncomfortable.

✦ Second, I’d suggest giving good thought to how you personally experience embarrassment, how you experience excitement (of the sexual variety), and how those two might sometimes commingle or feel similar.

For me, they are very comparable, like different shades of the same emotion—but there are differences which are important to note. 

If I’m making myself blush from excitement, this is a very good thing for writing smut. It means that what I’m writing feels real enough to evoke something in the reader, even if the reader, like me, knows what’s going to happen.

If I’m making myself cringe, however, it may be time to take a step back and readjust my perspective.

✦ Third, ease yourself into it! Don’t jump straight in the deep end and expect to know how to keep your head above water if you’ve never swum before.

The way I eased myself into smut was first by writing “Steam”—a category of fic I made up because the current vocabulary lacked an efficient term for fics that straddled emotional romance and explicit content. 

Essentially, steam is smut-adjacent but not explicit, and here’s a step-by-step example of how I transitioned myself smoothly from one genre to the next:

I first wrote my fics Wicked Game and You Are (both of which feature either a heavy make out session or teasing + lots of sexual tension) with this “steam” concept in mind.

I wrote the first chapter of Fine Line, which has brief but explicit descriptions of fantasies, framed by a very sexually charged scene.

I released my fic Crashing, which is probably more of a bridge between Steam and Smut, and features soft-focus fingering. Nothing in it is explicit—it focuses more on the emotions than explicit detail—but it’s very clear what is happening.

After I wrote those, I felt just confident enough to make that final stride over the threshold into smut. I wrote my fics Holy, King, and the second chapter of Fine Line all within weeks of each other.

And trust me when I say, once you get the momentum going and receive that validation from people who’ve read your work, it becomes SO much easier to sit down and start writing. 

You just have to finish that first piece.

✦ Finally (and I know I’m going to sound cliche when I say this), just like any other skill, the more you practice the more confident you will feel and the better you will get. 

So practice, practice, practice! 

If you’re nervous about posting smut for the first time, have a trusted friend/mutual Beta read it for you. It’s the online equivalent to someone holding your hand before jumping off the cliff, and works wonders for the nerves.

3. Keep The Smut Rolling

Now that you have some tools to help get you past the blockage of writing smut, here’s how to keep the inspiration flowing.

✦ Start by incorporating smutty fanfiction/erotic fiction into your regular reading rotation- 

Of course AO3 is a fantastic resource for smutty fanfiction.

In terms of erotic fiction, my personal favourites are anything Anais Nin (specifically Henry & June and Delta of Venus), The Thornchapel series by Sierra Simone, The Godwicks series by Tiffany Reisz, and The Original Sinners series by Tiffany Reisz.

There are also sites like Literotica and sexstories.com, which play host to explicit short fiction (not fandom based).

✦ Next, I’d recommend having a designated digital space for smutspiration- 

This can be a list of “smutty” words/phrases kept on a separate document on your computer, for those days when you just can’t think of the right way to describe something. 

Or you can create a private side-blog or Pinterest board for your favourite smutty fanart or other kinds of visual smutspiration.

✦ For that matter, try following some smutty/18+ blogs (ONLY IF YOU’RE 18+) here on Tumblr-

Many of them have a plethora of what I like to call “lemony snippets”, a.k.a. short text posts that describe (usually in conversational language) explicit scenarios. 

This is useful because it will normalise the concept of sexual fantasies in your brain, making it less weird for you when you try to come up with ones of your own to write into smut. 

Not to mention, your dash will be rife with inspiration.

✦ I would also suggest checking out 18+ ASMR on YouTube (AGAIN, ONLY IF YOU’RE 18+). 

My favourite account is Professor Cal Official, but Auralescent also has some good content. 

Headphones are highly advisable for this, as their stuff is very dangerous for work.
