can i just say it felt so fucking GOOD to have good, well-executed, fast-paced (!!) lightsaber fight choreography. the fights were exciting! each character had their own distinct style that matched their abilities and size! they were fast!!!!!! hands down the best saber fights we’ve seen in live-action sw in a long time.

Caitvi professing their love for each other without words in s1 with the bedroom scene, Caitlyn brushing her hand in Vi’s cheek and Vi holding on, and in s2 with the sex scene, giving and taking as much as they can.

Caitlyn and Vi aren’t necessarily bad with their words, Vi is a waxing poet herself (ie “oil and water” & “the dirt under your nails”), but the way their actions say so much more than any words they could manage is just *chefs kiss*.

I have to acknowledge this beautiful Violet dress.

And I just know that they wanted us to note it. The way she is placed and moves in the shot is very intentionally centered. This shot comes right after Colin wakes up from his dream at the beginning of 3x03. I think the symbolism is quite clear- the way the magenta pattern is spreading uncontrolled, like wild vines consuming a blue house- it’s love creeping in. And it applies not only to Colin, but also to Violet and to Francesca, as they will both meet their love matches later in the episode.

The particularly adorable thing that I just noticed about this is that Violet wears that dress at the same time that Pen wears this dress, which is conceptually so similar.

I just love that little connection between the two women. Subtle but meaningful.

Woooo LU update! "Entrance"

Looks like we were right, the dungeon is the same one Twilight chased the Shadow through. Even in this earlier time, it's apparently a ruin. I have lots of questions about the nature and origin of the dungeons in LoZ. Warriors calls them "old tombs," and Legend echoes this with "Hyrule's tombs." Was that the original purpose of most of them? Or are they just referring to the way many dungeons are dark, dank, underground, and/or haunted by undead creatures? Interesting word choice.

I am very curious about what Hyrule is referring to. Is he aware that some of the items he has found belonged to the hero before him (Legend)? Which ones? The handy/power glove? Power bracelet? Red and blue rings? Is the headcanon that Legend made Hyrule's dolls going to be made canon?? (Also I love their expressions, especially Wind's.)

Love the mention of monsters unique to dungeons! I am so excited to see more. Hyrule is absolutely correct, wallmasters are gross and very annoying. The skulltula was very creepy. Good job, Jojo.

Their reactions here are interesting. Legend is unfazed, shield out but holding steady. Wild, on the other hand, is stumbling out of the way with an expression I cannot put words to, but which appears on my face when I find a spider on the ceiling at 2 am. He has not encountered giant man-eating spiders in his travels and it shows. Also, the return of Time's bow! He is a pretty good shot for missing an eye. I wonder if he had to learn to adjust his aim. Shooting down skulltulas in dungeons is probably taking him back to his own adventures. Maybe not so good memories.

Legend's little prank with the scarf is cementing my realization that he and Warriors really do like to mess with each other. It is also making me wonder if monsters are ever going to do the same. @w1lmuttart made an art pointing out how the Links' attire could be used against them. Yikes!

Twilight is very much on Time's mind. He's worried. I like the detail of Wind in that panel too, since Time has been growing closer to him as they've discovered their connection. It's also easy to see the family resemblance in Time and Twilight's expressions and features here. Warriors makes a good call, but Time knows "it's dangerous to go alone." I wonder how they will end up splitting up.

i was iffy on theories about friede disappearing/being "killed off" (removed from the plot for a period of time without it being particularly gruesome but serving the same purpose as if he were dead) before HZ085 but my belief in this theory went up a lot after watching it. starting to feel like there's no way this arc doesn't end with either friede, pagogo, or both having something Very Bad happen to them. horizons is definitely not ending with this arc so a new plot arc must follow and well. Hmmm

Some lil thoughts on the new GenLoss videos as of recent

In the “From the desk of the founder video” code (thank you random deleted channel for the decoding), to me it’s pretty obvious the founder is talking to Ranboo. Talking about how he (Ranboo) was special and could be used for something more, which would be Generation 1

- The founder also talks about how Gen1 was one of his favorites in “Welcome to Gen 0” and considering how special he talking about someone being special in Gen1, we can assume it’s ranboo

I really think that what happened with Ranboo inspired the founder to create the other generations, as it was the first of many. He wanted to recreate a situation like what happened with Ranboo and make it perfect (What perfect means to the founder, I have no idea yet)

Whatever the case is, this founder dude sounds like he (?) has a sort of obsession with these generations and making them beautiful/perfect, which I’m guessing is gonna mean they’re just as messed up as Gen1

I'm sure many of you have seen the new Among Us x A Hat in Time announcement by now, which consists of new cosmetic items based off of the AHiT characters as part of the new Indie Cosmicube.

However, what I've not heard as much discussion about is the new art featured in the promo.

"New art?" you ask, glancing at the familiar sprite art of the AHiT characters in the background. "I guess Bow Kid's looks new..."

"But what about the rest of them?" I ask, smirking.

"Those have been around for years!" you protest.

"Ah-ha!" I raise a finger, a witty smile spread across my face, "but have they?"

In fact, all of the main character sprite art in the background of this promo has been redrawn. Some, like Hat Kid's, has even had design changes as well.

Let's start with Hat Kid:

Overall new shading and smoother painting lines, including added highlights and shadows to create more depth

New eyes that give her a more cheery and childish appearance

New, more expressive mouth with fangs!

Updated stars on her umbrella

That about sums it up I think. That new Bow art is super cute, and I can't wait to see it in full. Oh, did I not mention? Gears for Breakfast didn't spend all of this time redrawing these classic images just for some Among Us promotion. Or rather, they might have, but a little birdy told me that we'll be seeing them again soon...

For what? I have no idea. No clue there. But you can be assured that we'll be getting the full, brand new versions of these pieces of art in the near future!

Anyways Amphoreus is definitely structured around the Golden Apple of Eris. The three contending Aeon presences on the planet, the allusions to the story on Penacony, and now Aglaea's description directly references Aphrodite

Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of beauty and love and one of the three Goddesses competing for the golden apple.

For context, the golden apple was thrown by Eris, goddess of Chaos, at the wedding of Thetis and Peleus (Achilles's parents). She said it was for the most beautiful goddess and Aphrodite, Athena, and Hera fought over it. The Trojan prince Paris was made to chose and picked Aphrodite in exchange for Helen of Sparta to be his wife (even though she was already married). He kidnapped her and this caused the Trojan War.

Anyways Algaea directly serves as some sort of representative of "romance" aka Aphrodite so this basically confirms the theory that this is what Amphoreus is based on.

PW:AA Spoilers (1-4)!

one of my favorite things about miles edgeworth is how profoundly human he is. we're led to believe he's abandoned all morals leading up to 1-3. then, his interference gets your client a not guilty verdict and you start thinking there's some good left in him. come 1-4, his facade slips and you glimpse upon how caring he truly is, what with him trying to keep phoenix out of dl-6 (and, as a consequence, away from defending him) + paying maya's bail after she's held in contempt of court.

he subverts every expectation you have about someone who falls under his character archetype. i was especially moved by his dialogue in the detention center.

exhibit A:

Phoenix: Can I ask you about the murder? Edgeworth: Wright. I'll ask you again, just leave me alone. Phoenix: ... Edgeworth: Please try to understand. I'm not doing this to prove I'm tough, or because I look down on you. I just don't want you anywhere near this case. Understand?

exhibit B:

Phoenix: Edgeworth? Edgeworth: It's only been a matter of hours since you last visited. Yet you've made incredible progress in your investigation. I'll admit it, I'm impressed, Wright. You were always single-minded in your work, though. Once you start on something, you always see it through, don't you? Phoenix: About the "DL-6 Incident"... Edgeworth: Right... DL-6. I didn't want you to find out about it. That is why I refused your offer to defend me. I'm sorry if it sounded like I thought you weren't up to the job. I just wanted to keep you away from DL-6.

he's quick to reassure phoenix that this isn't about pride or faith in phoenix's capabilities, though he'd used petty insults to ward phoenix off earlier.

i'm of the (unpopular?) opinion that of phoenix and edgeworth, edgeworth is a far warmer person. it's why i can't quite buy yamazaki's edgeworth in most cases, but that's a topic for a different post i already have drafted.

this also isn't meant to undermine the gravity of edgeworth's mistakes as the "demon prosecutor". it's very likely he put away innocents while burying his past. i do strongly believe the first game (and every game in the first trilogy, really) rounds the characters in a way the second trilogy often couldn't, though, and it's that charm that makes the first trilogy feel timeless.

while it’s labeled season 3, it is definitely a direct continuation of the first batch of episodes making it s2b functionally (due to it continuing plot threads set up, such as the new humans s2a introduced and the dome we left off on) — so no need to fret

a previous leak suggests there’ll be a s2c and s2d, so it isn’t likely these are the final earthspark episodes (S1 had released episodes in batches similarly — 10, then 8, then the last 8)
