s1ep13 merlin, believing he will be dead by morning, goes to say goodbye to arthur and he leans against the door of arthur’s chambers and watches the glow of the fire light his skin golden, full of color and life that it had been sorely lacking while the prince was injured. he stares at the softness of arthur’s features and pressed the line of his profile into memory for while he passes he will wish for nothing more than to see arthur one last time, his smile and blue eyes one last comfort before he passes on to the otherworld. arthur turns to stare at him and frowns at whatever expression merlin is making. the prince kicks a weak foot out at the chair next to him and motions for merlin to join him. merlin slowly shuffles over but ignores the chair completely. he stops in front of arthur who watches him with wary confusion. the tug of his lips and the furrow of his brow sickeningly endearing and merlin allows himself to be selfish and leans down to press his lips to arthur’s.

the prince is sat frozen under merlin’s touch but he can’t find himself to care much about that, not when he finally knows what it feels like to kiss arthur. he hopes that will be his last sensation before the ever consuming nothing, he hopes he will close his eyes one last time only to find arthur grinning at him and calling him an idiot before leading him into paradise where he can watch arthur smile, hear him laugh, and feel his touch for all eternity. he pulls away and leaves before arthur can gather himself to form a response, dropping the letter explaining everything on the table as he passes. so he allows himself to be selfish twice - to take from arthur and to give, to let himself know what is feels to kiss the man, to embrace his feelings for him, and to have the man know him for who he truly is. he wishes to pass peacefully with no regrets. somehow that revolves entirely around arthur.

only…he survives the whole ordeal and yeah has a gnarly scar on his chest but is otherwise fit to return to his duties. which include taking care of the prince. of arthur. who he kissed. and who most definitely know about his magic by now. yeesh.

Calling all MCSR fans!

Hi MCSRblr!! We are proud to present the first MCSR Mini Gift Exchange which will take place from 16th August to 8th September. This is the Discord server that the event will take place through, so make sure to join if you're interested. Below is the schedule so you can decide whether or not to participate:

16th August - Signups open

18th August - Signups close

20th August - Claims open

22nd August - Claims close

24th August - Creation period begins

6th September - Creation period ends

7th-8th September - Posting period

Event brief:

1. Participants will join a Discord server to participate in the event.

2. Participants will complete a signup form, stating their requested prompt in the process. The prompt must be MCSR-related.

3. Participants will go through a claims stage in which claims open at the optimal time (we will ask for time zones in the signup form). Claims will be on a first come first served basis, and you will be asked to list several prompts you'd like to fulfil in case you do not get your first choice. This will be done through another form.

4. Mods will contact participants to tell them their final prompt. Please ensure you have DMs open so we can do so. If all your prompts have been taken, we will have to ask you to choose another (we will be removing taken prompts from the claims spreadsheet so you can see).

5. As soon as all prompts are taken, or as soon as the set start for the creation period begins, participants are free to begin working on their gift. Writers should have minimum 1k words and artists at the very least a coloured piece (doesn't have to be rendered). Please maintain anonymity at this point as we would like the gifts to be a surprise!

6. If at any point, you feel you are unable to keep going with your gift, please contact mods so that we can discuss and get a pinch hitter if needed.

7. Once you have completed your gift, we would like you to complete a form to announce you have completed. Then, once posting period begins, you are free to post. At this point you are able to drop anonymity, or if preferred, you can post anonymously. Please tag the recipient of your gift in the post you make/gift to them on Ao3/however you choose to gift!

8. Once posted, another form will come out to ensure you have posted.

Rules:

1. You agree to do your best to produce an adequate gift of either a writing piece minimum 1k or a coloured (doesn't have to be rendered) art piece for your chosen prompt within two weeks.

2. If you are unable to do this, you must quickly contact a mod and inform them so a pinch hitter can be found.

3. As per Discord, Ao3 and Tumblr TOS, you must be at least 13 years old to participate. You must have a Tumblr and Discord account.

4. Shipping is allowed for the event. Please practice typical fandom etiquette - don't like, don't read.

5. Dark, violent or triggering topics must be appropriately tagged.

6. No NSFW content.

7. Major Archive Warnings and shipping are opt-in and this should be respected. Additionally, you must consider the prompt’s DNW and fulfill it as best as you can. Not doing so will result in a ban from the event.

8. No AI generated content.

9. Mods reserve the right to ban mores who cross the line.

Marisol Coxi was one of those Monster High dolls I really wanted when I was little but never ended up getting, so I think it would be awesome if she got brought back for G3! Going off that I thought I’d try designing her a G3 look! I actually love how it turned out, I wanted to keep her colour scheme and aspects of her original design (like the hair and the shoes) but also looked up some Peruvian clothes for her since she’s from Monster Pichu!

One of my favourite hc's I like to world-build is the idea that Lucien belongs to a super exclusive scholarly society.

It sounds dorky, but stay with me on this. This society holds access to powerful, protected texts long thought to be lost or forgotten. But the catch with this is that members are not able to use that knowledge for personal gain

There is no straight forward way to join. Instead, the group—or perhaps, the magic that binds the knowledge and rules within the society itself—chooses its members. Anyone can be selected—whether they are a high fae or lesser—because the magic doesn’t care about status; it cares about the worthiness of the individual to protect texts and their ability to contribute to the base of knowledge.

I imagine that Lucien was chosen by the magic when he was fairly young. I think that Lucien likely never told anyone about this, except perhaps Jesminda.

There is a way for Fae outside of the society to gain access to the protected texts, and that's through a bargain. The bargain that is required comes at a high price. Its never more than what a fae is able to offer but it's enough that most do not attempt it for fear of the cost required. Even more, the scholar summoned by the bargain can still choose to deny whether to provide the information if they find the seeker unworthy.

Now imagine, the HL's are in dire straits and decide to bargain with the scholars for information from a powerful text, then boom Lucien shows up like, whats good y'all??
