Drawing Len had me in small little pieces because I found the worst outfit for then losing it so I drew it by memory lol
❌ OC in something they would absolutely never wear
Picture Liara being literally purple because she has to hold the biggest laugh lol Ann will be delighted!
👑 OC dressed as royalty
I bit more than I could chew with this one lol I wanted her to have a full warrior elven queen fantasy and I tried to cramp the development in my two hours rule, which was a mistake :'D but I'll totally keep it as a reference for future purposes lol

Hotter Than Texas | Part I
(unofficially: Brother's Worst Enemy)
Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw x F!Reader
Alrighty y'all, this is for everyone who has so patiently waited for me to make this a thing XD Not sure if I could squeeze a whole series out of this one but we shall see. Maybe at least a part 2. Enjoy!
Summary: Bradley Bradshaw is tasked with transporting a not-so-delicate package in the form of Jake Seresin's baby sister, who turns out to be Bradley's dream girl worst nightmare.
Aka it's a road trip, strap in.
CW: swearing, age gap (10 years)
The mission is simple. Collect Seresin Junior from the train station near the main gate of the base and deliver said cargo to the Seresin homestead in Eastern Texas on his way to Atlanta, Georgia for a long overdue visit with his grandparents. It isn’t rocket science. It sure as hell doesn’t hold a candle to the canyon run he pulled off just the other month. And yet, Bradley’s drumming his fingers anxiously on the hood of his Bronco as he leans into its frame, waiting on the trolley from downtown San Diego.
While Jake and Bradley have recently made peace after their longstanding cold war, Bradley isn’t exactly thrilled to meet another one of his kind. Besides, he isn’t one for small talk, and the prospect of spending the next two days with a complete stranger is downright daunting. He prefers music to conversation and he’s hoping that his road trip companion won’t be offended when he turns up the radio and forgets there’s anybody else in the car.
When Hangman had asked for the favor, he assured Bradley that he was his last choice – which wasn’t exactly a compliment, but Bradley appreciated the gesture, nonetheless. By the end of the term, there was nobody from their squadron left on base except Bradley, and he would be heading east anyway, might as well provide shuttle service while he’s at it.
As the trolley whistles into the station, Bradley pushes off his car and straightens his back, watching the tinted windows as they zip by, a blur at first and then gradually separating as the trolley comes to a stop.
Bradley leaves his car to walk around the fence, not quite sure how he’s going to be greeting a person he’s never before seen, but it’s not like he’s going to fashion a sign for the occasion. He sticks his hands into his pockets, the breeze picking up his unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt like a parachute before it starts whipping around his torso in the wind tunnel on the platform.
He glances around at the commuters stepping off the trolley, trying to pick out the blondes that might resemble his colleague, when he feels a tap on his shoulder. He turns his head, just as you say, “Rooster, right?”
He blinks at you, slightly disoriented. You look nothing like Hangman, thank fuck, because Bradley can’t take his eyes off you and, as inappropriate as this reaction is, it would make it that much worse if you did. He gives you a sideways grin. “What gave me away?” he says.
“My brother told me to find the dorkiest guy at the station,” you respond, grinning at him.
Bradley chuckles. “So, you’re walking to Texas, then,” he says, stepping around you.
You laugh, struggling to redirect the wheels of your suitcase.
Bradley bends down to grab the handle. “I can take that,” he says, tucking away the retractable bar and lifting it off the ground by the strap.
“Thanks,” you say, cringing slightly as Bradley lifts the luggage as though you’re embarrassed by its weight.
But after the countless exercise drills over the years, Bradley hardly notices that it’s heavy. In fact, he could probably carry it over his head. He eyes you inconspicuously as you fall in step with him, wondering if perhaps that might impress you – not that he wants to impress you.
“Actually, he said I couldn’t miss you because you’d be a head taller than everyone else, and probably wearing a very bright shirt.”
Bradley looks over at you with a grin. “Hopefully I didn’t disappoint?”
You eye his shirt flapping in the breeze. “I found you, didn’t I?”
Bradley lifts your suitcase into the trunk of his car and walks around to open your door for you.
You give him a suspicious look. “Thanks,” you say.
Bradley nods at you, offering a hand to help you in. Once you’re seated, he shuts the door behind you and exhales unsteadily the kind of sigh that often accompanies a guilty conscience. There’s no way he could possibly get entangled in a mess of this magnitude. And a colossal mess it would become if he were to develop any sort of soft spot for his recent enemy’s baby sister. Bradley, being a sensible, mature adult, understands this unequivocally. But, when he rounds the car and climbs into the driver’s seat next to you, the notion that he’s not allowed under any circumstances to find you attractive flies right out his rolled down window.
This is because you’re already tuning the radio like you own the place and because you smell like a goddess. Bradley has no clue whether it’s your hair or your perfume or your goddamn essence that’s permeated his upholstery in under ten seconds, but whatever it is, he certainly wouldn’t mind smelling it on his sheets in the morning.
Fuck. He’s fucking fucked.
“This alright?” you ask casually, as if you didn’t just hijack a stranger’s radio.
He cringes at the stereo; he’ll have to work on your taste in music. “Got your seatbelt on?” he asks as he pulls out.
You turn around in your seat and pull on the seatbelt.
Bradley promptly hits the breaks and you lurch forward slightly, the seatbelt in your hand getting stuck on its way out. He looks over at you with an air of seriousness despite the small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “The seatbelt should be the first thing you do when you enter a vehicle.” Not fiddle with the radio, he adds silently.
You raise your eyebrows at him in amusement. “Okay, dad.”
Bradley nearly shudders at your response. He’s probably a good ten years older than you, so, really, while dad might be stretching it, you’re not too far off. “Keep up that attitude and you’ll be listening to Metallica the whole way home.”
You smirk at him. “I like Metallica, so joke’s on you, bud.”
Bradley starts driving again. “If you like Metallica, then why are we listening to this trash?”
Your jaw drops and you reach for the volume dial to turn up the song. “How dare you?”
Bradley rolls his eyes. Something tells him he’s in for a wild ride.
…
About two hours later, Bradley pulls into a small gas station just past the border into Arizona.
“Want something to eat?” he asks, leaning across the console to pop his glove compartment and pull out his wallet. “Or drink?”
You purse your lips. “I could go for a coffee.”
“How do you like it?” he asks.
“With a pinch of salt.”
Bradley gapes at you. “I can’t tell if you’re joking.”
You snort. “I’m not joking. You should try it! Cuts the bitterness in half, my friend.”
Bradley cringes. “The bitterness is why I drink it.”
You shake your head and declare wisely, “You’ll see.”
“That you’re a nutcase?” Bradley mutters under his breath as he exits the car. He jogs over to the convenience store, determinedly blocking out the seductive quality of your persuasive tone. You could probably convince him to drink a pint of his own urine if you set your mind to it.
Bradley drums impatiently on the counter, waiting for the clerk to finish restocking one of the shelves with chips. While he’s waiting, he glances out to check on you as if you’re a child under his charge. You’ve stepped out of the Bronco to stretch your legs and Bradley doesn’t like the way the two guys in the convertible in behind are eyeing you.
Bradley cranes his neck to check on the clerk’s progress and lets out a stifled sigh. When he looks back outside, he sees that one of the men has approached you and, well, Bradley isn’t about to wait to see what happens next. He drops a bill on the counter and calls out, “Keep the change,” to the clerk before practically slamming his way through the doors with the coffees in his hands.
Why it bothers him that some random dude might want your number is not of consequence. What matters is that Bradley gets rid of this asswipe before you start enjoying his company.
He strides confidently past the man chatting you up and stops right in between you and him, handing you a coffee.
“Careful, it’s hot,” he cautions moodily, not entirely sure how to go about handling a situation in which, objectively speaking, he has no real authority.
You meet his gaze with a small smile. “You don’t say,” you respond with all the sultriness of a blazing, desert sun.
Bradley’s gaze remains unwaveringly on you as he unhooks a pair of Ray-Bans from the neck of his muscle shirt and slides them over his eyes. “Ready to go?” he asks in a level tone, hoping he can avoid what is bound to be an unpleasant interaction with the man still standing behind him.
“Sorry ‘bout that,” the man speaks up. “Didn’t realize you were with someone, honey.”
Bradley keeps his eyes on yours for several moments longer, trying his best not to show the irritation he feels at the way this rando just called you ‘honey’. Reluctantly, he turns to face him, wondering what in the world he could say that wouldn’t make him sound jealous as fuck.
But before Bradley could speak, you slide casually into his side, leaning on him like it’s the most natural thing. “That’s just fine,” you say to the man. “No harm, no foul.”
Bradley looks down at your head as it nestles into his shoulder and then lifts his arm to let you move in closer. Trying to play it cool, he skims the tips of his fingers across your lower back, which is warm and feels like the perfect place to rest his hand.
Convertible guy promptly departs, and Bradley is left standing in an embrace with the one person on the entire planet for whom he should never catch feelings, at a derelict gas station on the outskirts of arid Yuma, Arizona, and the heat is really starting to get to him. Slowly, you start to peel yourself away and Bradley, sensing your withdrawal, drops his hand and recoils from you like you’ve burnt him.
Did it feel nice pretending you were his girl? Sure did. Is he going to erase it from his memory and never let himself so much as shake your hand again? Absolutely.

pairing: surfer!bf x THICC!male reader
summary: oh, how i need a tall, curly headed goofball…
notes: HOPE MY LOVELIES ARE DOING WELL. trying to get through my requests, but this was a personal one of mine. slowly but surely y’all! as summer is coming to an end, it was SO necessary for me to feed my hot girl delusions at least a couple more times. also, enjoy the new style i have been experimenting with!
song rec: they. - diamonds and pearls
album rec: sabrina carpenter - short n sweet (my girl sabz ate so hard with this project, i just wish it was released in early aug so she could’ve rly CONQUERED summer 2024) THEE POP PRINCESS!
brief background:
your boyfriend was raised with a silver spoon; he’d never had to work a day in his life and everything he ever wanted, he got. well, everything except you. throwing money to impress people had worked on all of his other childhood crushes, but not you, which made him all the more determined to prove to you he wasn’t just some fuck boi the media painted him out to be. his family owned the richest resort in the carribean, and had hotels in every mega city worldwide. but wherever they travelled to, your man was never too far from a beach. call it fate, but the sea would always lead you back to him. it was where he first laid eyes on you; reading a very lengthy novel as you laid on the sand, watching your friends play in the water. after their surf practice, your mutual friends introduced the two of you and you were SMITTEN - but you couldn’t show your interest too soon. he too was whipped, and didn’t take nearly as much effort to hide it, practically drooling whilst staring at you. his mates would constantly ridicule him for his dazed expression around you, and he could never hear the end of the new nickname ‘bambi boy’ you gave him because he looked so cute when he was flustered. after weeks of regular conversation and a couple walks on the beach, he officially asked to be your boyfriend and you said yes.
when it came to finally introducing you to his family, they loved you almost as much as he did. he was the youngest of six and so he got the privilege of this. his parents especially were wishing y’all would stay together. they believed you were the perfect match for their goofball of a son.
core memory sfw:
the first time he said ‘i love you’ with TRUE meaning; you were always worried that you were just one fuck away from being forgotten, but your man made sure to constantly affirm his love for you. he brought you the biggest bouquet of your favourite flowers, and stood outside in the pouring rain, playing a mixtape he’d made for you. it was genuinely a scene out of a film, he was your knight in shining armour (a hawaiian shirt and matching shorts) and it was then that you knew that you guys were endgame.
core memory nsfw:
to say your bf loves your body is an understatement. the way he’s hooked on your body, some might say it’s borderline unhealthy. he’s so handy and keeps his hands on your ass all the time. whether it’s a spank, watching it jiggle as you walk away from him, or a full on grip as his pulls you onto his dick, he’s a man that would gladly die between your cheeks. one time during dinner you wore a wrap skirt paired with a tank top, paired with a thong that was peeping out enough to make your man’s eyes pop out of his head like a cartoon character. as his jaw dropped, practically salivating at the sight of your body moving closer to him, you picked it up and giggled, stroking his chin endearingly. for the entire meal he was practically sat right next to you, breathing in your luscious skin. ‘boy, you better calm down, we have company.’ you giggled. ‘fuck bby, how can you say that when you look good enough for me to eat?’ he whispered into your ear, trying not to bring too much attention. before you knew it you were face down, ass up and your thong was pulled to the side, as he used it as a pseudo leash keeping your pussy bouncing on his cock.
your favourite thing about him: his oddball nature.
as much as it can annoy you that he’s always cracking jokes, leaving no room for respite, your bf never fails to bring joy to your life. as the life of the party he’s always bringing that much needed energy to the dull world of his mostly corporate family. whether it be seeing you hollering at some unhinged thing he’d said, or watching him (ironically) fuck the smile onto your lips, you can tell that comedy is who he is, and you wouldn’t change your weirdo for anything.
his favourite thing about you: how artistic you are.
almost impossibly, it makes your boyfriend fall in love with you even more seeing your creativity flourish. you’re always making him jewellery out of the shells and stones you find. he loves to wear them, it gets you going when you see the necklace you made for him swing back and forth as he fucks into you. or when you feel the cold of his rings and bracelet on your waist as he holds you in position to fuck you even harder. he’s so proud of you.
his insta post: mostly just him showing off his good looks (we love a cocky man around here) and his beach flix.
surfer!bf my face is his favourite seat.
y/n: that big dick is a very close second though.
tinashe replied: @y/n, you a nasty girl fr.
sabrinacarpenter replied: @y/n girl, need you on that bed chem remix. about to do some damage…in a good way x
your insta post: almost always pictures of your creations; you like to keep your relationship with him private, that’s YOUR man, and you can get very possessive.
y/n feel free to add to your pinterest boards.
surfer!bf: baby you’re so talented 🩵
viviennewestwood: so excited to see your next collection!
surfer!bf: i love you.
y/n replied: @surfer!bf aw, i love you too babes!
plans for the future!
being with one of the greatest surfers in the world, definitely came with some amazing perks.
marriage:
oh, he’s 100% thought about it, and would definitely be the one to propose. the free spirit in him doesn’t need a piece of paper to prove that he loves you, truly. But would totally be your husband if you let him x
children:
your surfer!bf ABSOLUTELY WANTS TO HAVE A FAMILY WITH YOU! sees himself as the best father and y’all would have the cutest kids ever.

Hey hi! I saw your post about Buffy being your favorite show and what do you mean "you know what’s happening with certain characters based on the colors they are wearing"? That's SO cool and something I've never noticed despite being such a tv nerd, do you have examples?
Ohhhh my gosh I love this question!!! There are a few characters who come to mind (Buffy & Willow) but I’m gonna talk about Spike because I love to talk about Spike.
So Spike is a character who very much has a uniform and this uniform is linked to his identity. It’s important to note that this is an identity he crafted. Because as we know Spike started out as William, a man who was sensitive and kind and who was unappreciated by his peers. When he became a vampire he wanted to shed that weakness and he uses his hair, accent, and clothing to reinforce the idea that he is a strong, tough, and evil being.
Spikes official uniform is perfectly slicked back bleach blonde hair, a red shirt, dirty black jeans, combat boots and his signature leather duster. This is Spikes armor. It’s how he embodies Spike and leaves William behind. The red shirt is also quite critically linked to his “evil era” as I’ll call it.
Throughout the show there are key moments where Spike deviates from this uniform and it’s always linked to a crises of identity.
The first moment I want to talk about is Spike in the Hawaiian shirt. He’s just been chipped, he’s relying on the Scoobies for survival, the core tenants of his identity (predator, killer, lover of Drusilla, leader of a vampire gang) have all been stripped from him against his will. He looks ridiculous wearing Xanders clothes because we know it’s ridiculous (at this point) for him to just be one of the Scoobies.
This is not unlike Tabula Rasa (which has a deliciously layered theme of loss of identity both literal with memory loss and metaphoric with each of the characters personal lives) where we see Spike once again out of uniform completely and lacking his identity. Now like I said on the surface he has truly lost his identity he has no memory of who he is. But it’s no surprise that he draws the (incorrect) conclusion that he’s a vampire with a soul on a mission of redemption because for the past few months he’s been playacting that role. After Buffy died Spikes entire identity was usurped by the need to live up to her memory. He babysits Dawn. He patrols with the Scoobies. He lives a mundane and neutered life because he thinks it’s what she would have wanted. Except now she’s back. And she’s opening up to him in ways she never has before. And she’s kissed him. And this is simultaneously the most incredible and terrifying thing to ever happen to Spike because it’s all he wants but he knows deep down, it’s not who he is. He has no soul. He has no remorse. He is not good.
Now let’s talk about some less overt examples. Because the wardrobe team does an incredible job of making subtle shifts to Spikes uniform that communicate his emotional arc.
In Crush, we see Spike swap the red shirt for a light blue shirt (blue is going to be a theme!) and lighter pants. By doing this he communicates to Buffy that he’s different than before. He’s lighter and softer. A man she could be interested in. But of course, just like the uniform of Spike is a performance, this too is a performance and one Buffy sees through quickly.
Blue comes back again in Smashed, an episode where once again Spike’s identity comes into play. He has been play acting at being a Scooby but we know that’s not who he really is. Now, suddenly he finds that he can hurt Buffy without activating his chip. All of a sudden he gets a glimpse of his old self and it infuses him with confidence and purpose. The blue shirt in this episode is deep and rich, verging on purple. By wearing this shirt it shows us how deeply conflicted Spike is. The war between his selfish love for Buffy and his feelings of being trapped and controlled by his chip (and his feelings for her) is coming to a head. And of course, by showing his teeth he gives Buffy the push she needs to sleep with him.
Ok so now we get to talk about my FAVORITE season when it comes to Spikes loss of identity and the use of his uniform to depict that: season 7.
When we first see Spike in season 7 something very important is happening: his hair is completely disheveled and curly, with his natural brown roots showing. This is the closest we have ever seen Spikes hair resemble Williams hair and this is important because as we know, Spike now has a soul and so he is closer now to William than he has been in over 100 years.
When Spike finally leaves the basement he is in a bright blue shirt and lacking his signature leather duster. The duster becomes a key plot point in season 7 with the introduction of Robin Wood (considering it was his mother’s jacket and Spike killed her.) Now, Wood is a controversial character but I personally think having Spike have to reckon with the consequences of his past all tied up in the metaphor of identity that is his leather jacket is chefs kiss.
Speaking of the leather jacket, in episode 15, Get It Done we see Spike put the jacket back on for the first time since Seeing Red. This is a moment of reclamation of identity. Souled Spike is listless and guilt ridden. And as the potentials point out, even a demon can kick his ass. When he puts that jacket back on he takes back a piece of who he is and starts on the journey of self discovery that we will see him continue in Angel season 5. Because ultimately it’s not Spike or William but the fusion of the two that make Spike who he is. AND TO BRING IT BACK FULL CIRCLE while Spike reclaims the jacket, he does not bring back the red shirt.
One other interesting thing about season 7 is that Spike is no longer as wiry and muscular as he was in season 6. Now, James Marsters has said that this was deliberate on his part because he was tired of being naked on the show and figured if he stopped working out (he has also said that he created his season 6 body deliberately upon being told he would be naked all the time) then they would stop making him take his shirt off. And while this is obviously not a deliberate choice on the part of the show, I do think it’s interesting that Spike becomes less angular and sharp after he gets his soul. He releases some of the hardness that defined him emotionally and physically. Which ties in nicely to this overarching theme of identity crises. It also hints at a certain level of toxicity on set if one of your lead actors feels the need to take drastic measures to protect themselves but that’s a whole different essay.
I hope this answers the question and I would loooove to hear what other people think about this. I know I didn’t touch on every Spike moment but I wanted to highlight ones I feel are critical parts of his narrative.

Love me, Love me
summary: bob floyd and the trials and tribulations of loving you.
or, my contribution to @roosterforme ‘s #loveisintheairtgm fic playlist!!!
pairing: bob floyd x bartender!reader
word count: 3.0k
warnings: swearing, some suggestiveness, mentions of alcohol maybe??, idiots in love smh
Bob was staring at himself in the mirror feeling a lot like how he did before his first middle school dance. Touching up his hair so he could impress Missy Clark. Except now he wasn’t trying to impress Missy, he was trying to impress you.
It was simultaneously a hundred times better and a hundred times worse.
Better, because you didn’t have braces that would catch on his lip if you kissed. Worse because you were probably the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen and somehow he managed to make a fool out of himself every time he saw you.
He was picking up Jake and Bradley tonight before heading to the Hard Deck. It was probably one of his short comings as a man who doesn’t drink; he was destined to be the designated driver.
When Jake slid into the passenger seat he looked to Bob, looked away for a moment, then stared straight back at him.
“What?”
“Is that a new shirt?” Jake questions, mildly intense.
“Errr, yes?”
“Why do you look so nice?” Jake pesters, reaching a hand out to poke at Bob’s neatly styled hair.
Bob shrugs his hand away with a huff, “Um it’s a new year’s resolution, y’know look good feel good thing.”
Jake raises an eyebrow, unconvinced, before leaning in to sniff at Bob.
“You’re wearing new cologne.” Jake states, “why?”
Bob is starting to get slightly antsy, worried for the inevitable teasing that would occur once Jake found out about his infatuation crush on you.
“Well, Jake, the thing is…”
Jake leans in.
“I’m in love with you! I’ve been trying to impress you for months! …yeah.” Bob finishes lamely.
Jake laughs. Loud.
For a moment, Bob is offended that the idea of him being in love with someone is so amusing. Then he remembers the fact that for some reason he has just professed a fake love to the most obnoxious man on planet earth.
“Bobby, man you crack me up.” Jake chortles, wiping at the few tears that had slipped from his lash line.
Bob sighs as he comes to a slow in front of Bradley’s house, too caught up in his thoughts to stop Jake from hitting the horn to alert Bradley of their presence.
Bradley emerges from his house, hawaiian shirt on and an effortlessly handsome smile plastered across his face. Bob realises that if he was going to fake confess again Bradley would be a much more believable candidate.
“Hey boys,” Bradley smiles, sliding into the seat behind Bob.
He pats Bob on the shoulder far too hard without realising, and smacks Jake on the back with the same strength. Jake doesn’t shudder down on impact like Bob.
Jake allows Bob a second to breathe before he starts his pestering again, albeit more slyly.
“Rooster.” He starts
“Bagman.”
“Very funny.”
“I try my best.” Bradley chuckles.
Jake rolls his eyes and continues, “any guesses for why our dear Bobby is so dressed up for our Friday night drinks?”
Bob goes to protest, but Jake shushes him promptly.
“and don’t confess your undying love for Rooster because I will know you’re lying.”
Bradley cocks his head in confusion, before getting to his point.
“The bartender, obviously.” Bradley laughs.
Jake raises his eyebrows and makes a loud “ooooooohoooo” noise at Bob.
“You’re nailing her Bob? Nice.” Jake slaps Bob on his still recovering shoulder.
“No! I’m not!” Bob speaks a little defensively.
Bob had grown to like Jake over their time spent working together. However, his crudeness towards subjects such as this still made him cringe.
“But you would like to…?” Bradley supplies unhelpfully.
“I mean, yes, but also I want to take her out. On a date. With me.” Bob sighs.
If he thought too hard about what it would be like to have you in his bed, he would probably be sporting a hard on in the car with two of his best friends. It wouldn’t be the ideal way to start his Friday night.
“You should ask her out,” Jake smiles nonchalantly.
“Yeah! Tonight,” Bradley adds on.
Bob can’t help but laugh dryly at his friends optimism, because of course they would think it’s that easy.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” he sighs out, pulling onto the road that leads to the Hard Deck.
“Sure it is!” Bradley delivers another encouraging painful slap to Bob’s shoulder.
Bob sighs dejectedly, clearly Bradley did not understand what he was trying to get at. He lets Bradley and Jake get out of the car before giving himself a mini pep talk in his rear view mirror.
“You’ve got this, Bobby,” he affirms.
BANG BANG.
Bob jumps out of his skin.
Jake’s face is smushed against the window, “you coming?”
“I can see up your nostrils.”
“Lucky you,” Jake snorts, finally pulling back so Bob can get out.
You’re the first thing Bob sees when he enters the bar; giggling at something a patron said as you pour a pint of whatever IPA Penny has on draft at the moment. Your hair is pulled back loosely and the light summer dress you’re wearing has Bob wondering if he needs to wipe at the drool forming at the corners of his lips.
He beelines for you, ignoring the shouts of greeting coming from his group of aviators already congregating around the pool table, and when you look up and meet his eyes, Bob could swear your smile widened.
“Hey Bob! Don’t you look smart!” You smile, radiant as ever.
Bob tries to ignore the heat that floods his cheeks and bites his lip to refrain from smiling too hard.
“Darlin’, thank you, but you… you look stunning,” he charms, probably overeager but you seem to have that affect on him.
Your nose scrunches in the way that it always does when you’re bashful of a compliment, it’s adorable but the idea makes Bob frown sometimes, makes him wonder if you know how beautiful you really are.
“I, I mean- this old thing?” You shrug down at your dress.
Bob can tell you’re being modest. You don’t need to be.
“Can I get you a drink?” You offer, steering the conversation from yourself.
It’s now or never that Bob realises he needs to make his move. He pinches his thigh through his trousers and finally pipes up.
“I, um, actually had a question that I wanted to ask? If that’s okay?”
“Yeah, shoot!” You nod.
“I wanted to ask this really incredible girl out, and I was just wondering, well, what you think she’d say?”
“I think she’d be a fool to say no,” you say with conviction.
Bob’s confidence seems to skyrocket after your confirmation. He nods and tries to conceal the smile threatening to split his cheeks in half.
“Good to know.”
As he walks off, Bob lightly pumps his fist in victory. You can’t help but giggle at the sight, hoping that whoever he was asking out would say yes. It would, however, be a lie to say you weren’t disappointed he wasn’t asking you.
Bob spends the rest of the weekend thinking about where he should take you out. He doesn’t want to come off too eager, so figured he should wait until Monday to see you again. He’s not sure when your next shift is, but figures if he swings by the Hard Deck after work he could probably catch you and ask whether your prefer Italian or Mexican.
When he gets to the Hard Deck at just gone 6 the bar is relatively empty, not much of a Monday evening crowd apparently. Bob ummed and ahhhed over the idea of bringing you flowers. In the end he settled on some pale pink roses, hoping they’d please you.
Penny is manning the desolate bar when he finally makes his way to the bar top. She smiles at him, albeit slightly confused at his lack of company and addition of flora in tow.
He says your name tentatively, “is she here?”
Penny frowns, “She just left about half an hour ago, said she had a date?”
Bob’s stomach drops. “Oh.”
“Was there a message you wanted me to pass on?” Penny smiles apologetically.
“No, um, don’t worry about it. Thanks Pen,” Bob nods curtly, spinning on his heel.
The flowers feel out of place in his clammy palm now, a dead weight dragging his right arm down. He still places then gently down on the passenger seat when he enters his car.
Bob leans his head on the steering wheel, not caring about the way the metal frames of his glasses are pushing painfully into the flushed skin of his cheeks.
“Fuck.” He whispers.
Bob drives back to his apartment with a furrow etched onto his brow, wondering if he hadn’t been clear enough that he was interested in you. His first thought is to ring Phoenix, you and her were close and regularly went out together. She picks up after the first ring.
“I’ve fucked up.” Bob sighs.
“Well hello to you too,” Nat snorts, Bob can hear the crinkle and crunch of what sounds like a bag of chips.
“Care to elaborate?” She questions.
He speaks your name as a whisper, “is she on a date right now?”
“Ohhhhhh,” Nat exclaims in understanding, “you’re an idiot.”
“I know!” Bob groans, at the reminder.
“She really likes you! But now she thinks you’ve got some secret crush!”
Bob is elated at the idea of you returning his feelings. Not so much at the idea of his failed attempt at asking you on a date being so stupid that it put you off.
“Ughhh, this is really embarrassing Nat.” Bob grumbles.
He can hear Nat snickering on the other end of the phone.
“Just tell her you like her, Dumbo.” She crunches down on another chip.
“Thank you that is really helpful actually.” Bob spits sarcastically.
Bob can hear Nat shuffle around before she starts up again, “look, for some reason she’s enamoured by everything you do. Like she’ll text me about how cute you looked in your glasses or how she liked your patterned shirt.”
She snorts, “it’s kind of disgusting but also heartwarming, I don’t know, what I’m trying to say is you just need to be yourself. That’s why she likes you.”
Bob is silent for a beat, “…she liked my shirt?”
“I’m hanging up now-”
“Thank you, Nat!” Bob quickly shouts down the line before she ends the call with a chortle.
Praying on the downfall of someone’s date is somewhat cruel. But Bob couldn’t really find it in him to care. Not when you look so sweet in one of your sundresses, stood at the bar wiping down the continually sticky counter tops.
It’s busy for an early Thursday evening, and Bob has once again bypassed his friends to beeline for you. Refreshed flowers in his hand, Bob was going to tell you how he felt. No beating around it this time.
“Oh! Hey Bob,” you drawl, slight flush to your cheeks at the sight of him.
“Hey beautiful, these,” he hands over the delicate bouquet, “are for you.”
You take them from him, inspecting the pinks and whites of the variety of flowers wrapped up in tissue paper.
“Wow, thank you! I- well no one has ever bought me flowers before!” You gush, fiddling with the ribbon at the bottom of the bouquet.
“They’re kind of an apology actually,” Bob smiles.
“Oh?” You prompt.
“Last Friday, I asked you that question?”
You nod in remembrance.
“Well, I was trying to ask you out. On a date that is, but clearly I went about it the wrong way, and if you’re not interested that’s okay! Of course, I just wanted you to know-”
Bob’s rambling is interrupted by the touch of your lips to his. His eyes widen in surprise before he leans in fully to your touch, hand coming to caress at your cheek. You pull back all too soon for Bob, who tries to chase after your lips.
“I want to.” You whisper against his lips.
“Huh?” Bob mumbles, slightly dazed from your kiss.
You giggle and pull back to look into his eyes fully, “Go on a date with you Bobby. I would love to.”
Bob grins, “Really?”
“Totally.”
Bob arrives outside your apartment at exactly the time he said he would. He’s dressed in a stripe button down and cream shorts. He looks handsome, annoyingly so and greets you with a kiss on the cheek. Ever the gentleman.
“We’ve already kissed,” you tease, smashing your lips against his in a greeting.
Bob reciprocates almost immediately, making a noise of approval as your tongue flicks against his. He pulls back breathless,
“I was trying to be a gentleman.”
“It’s okay,” you take his hand and thread your fingers through his.
You swing your hands gently whilst you listen to him talk, “I was thinking we could walk down to the beach?”
“Sounds perfect.”
The breeze is light, heat from the late afternoon still clinging to the air as you walk along worn concrete. Bob’s hand stays intertwined with yours and he nods along to all of your ramblings, somehow still interested even after your seemingly endless anecdotes.
“I’m probably boring you,” you smile apologetically.
Bob shakes his head with a laugh, “darlin’ I could listen to you talk about my taxes and be absolutely enthralled.”
You try to fight off your furious blush by smushing your face into his surprisingly muscular arm. Bob rolls his eyes and takes your face in his hands.
“I mean it.”
Bob initiates the kiss this time, slowly guiding your face towards his. It’s only quick, as your still surrounded by couples walking, but it leaves you reeling anyways.
The sun is setting by the time you make it to the beach, and you have a sneaky feeling Bob has timed your date to match it. You don’t ask, the idea alone is almost too much.
He lets you chatter on as you walk further and further down the beach, only stopping to ask questions to further your stories.
“I wanted to ask you something,”
“Sure,” you hum.
“Did you go on a date with another guy this week?” Bob hopes he doesn’t sound too accusatory (or jealous).
You nod shyly, “yeah, he kind of sucked though.”
“How come you went?” Bob inquires.
“I wanted to prove to myself that I wasn’t jealous of you going on a date with someone else.”
Bob chuckles, “even though you were the one I was asking out?”
You snort, “We’re stupid.”
“The stupidest.”
You both giggle for a moment at the absurdity of the situation before allowing the laughter to lull and finally take in the scenery. You hadn’t passed people for the past 10 minutes of your walk, reaching a more secluded area of the beach.
“Do you want to go in the water?” You ask slyly.
“I mean, I’m not very well prepared,” Bob gestures down to his outfit.
“Me either,” you shrug with a smirk, before lifting the hem of your dress and pulling it over your head.
You let it fall to the ground and bend down to take off your shoes, leaving them next to your dress. You snap back up with a smirk and let Bob take in the sight of you in your lacy underwear. He gulps visibly.
You wander towards the waves slowly, letting Bob take in the way your hips sway tantalisingly.
“You coming?” You call over your shoulder.
“Fuck.” Bob whispers to himself, “yeah, give me a minute!”
Bob shucks himself of his clothing in record time so he can join you in the water, which is rippling gently against your waist. It’s cool, but not overtly unpleasant. If anything it’s soothing his nerves.
You turn to face Bob when you can sense him behind you,
“wow,” you breathe out, drinking in his toned abdomen that had been exposed to you.
“I feel like I should be saying that,” Bob smiles down at you, allowing his hands to rest at your waist.
You roll your eyes and flick water at him playfully. Bob’s eyes darken teasingly and he splashes you back with a little more force.
“Bob!” You squeal as the cool water hits your chest.
You have no choice but to retaliate with an even larger splash of water. As soon as it hits Bob you take off, disturbing the peaceful ripples as you try to swim away from the now drenched Bob. He catches up to you with ease and lifts you into the air, forcing you to wrap your legs around his waist.
Your arms come to hang around his neck and you rest your forehead against his, both breathing harshly against one another’s mouths. Your lips connect sloppily as Bob’s hands grip tight at your behind to keep you close to him. The light blue lace of your thong is now dark blue from the water, the fabric of the bra much the same. It clings to you almost sinfully, and when Bob pulls back to look at you he lets out a deep, guttural groan.
“Look at you, darlin’.”
You flush at his words, accent heavy now it’s tainted with lust. You flick water at him playfully once again, trying to distract from how overwhelmed he makes you feel.
Bob chuckles and readjusts you in his grip, one arm under you to support you and the other pushing back at the wet strands of hair framing your face.
“Is it crazy if I say I think I love you?” Bob whispers.
“Is it crazy if I say the same thing?” You reply.

You meet Marcus Pike on a Friday night and it’s obvious from the start that he’s going to change your life forever.
He looks a little disheveled when he enters the gallery–brown hair ruffled and standing up in places, tie loose, top shirt button undone. There’s an alluring five o’clock shadow burgeoning across his jaw and cheeks. He looks like he’s had a long day, and it’s only going to get longer. It’s all part of the plan, of course. He’s supposed to look like a standard blue collar worker, and he pulls it off with ease.
It’s the exhibition’s opening night, so it’s a little more packed than the gallery normally would be. It works in his favor–he’s able to collect a plastic cup of champagne from the refreshment table and blend seamlessly into the crowd.
His eyes are diligent as they scan the faces that come and go. He tries to commit them all to memory–the tall woman with the slight limp, the short guy wearing the Hawaiian patterned shirt. There’s dozens of people that pass by, and so many of them are forgettable. It’s exhibitions like these that make him dread undercover work.
The art on the walls isn’t exceptional, but it’s not bad. Nothing that seems worth stealing, that’s for sure. But his source is good, and his source said that this place was getting hit tonight. So he keeps his watchful eyes vigilant and pretends to sip the champagne in his hand.
Until he finds your exhibit.
There’s a depth to your art that he’s come to be familiar with–something he sees often in work of high value. Anyone can make abstract art, it’s as simple as flicking paint at a canvas. But few can charge it as emotionally as you have. To convey feeling and passion and heart through abstraction is a separate art form all its own, and it’s one you’ve mastered.
He’s seen original Rothko’s, Van Gogh’s, Kandinsky’s; he’s held their frames in his own two hands. But nothing’s ever made his breath hitch in his throat quite the way yours does.
He stands in front of a canvas simply labeled “Waves In Motion” with your name printed neatly underneath, brow creased with a concentration that seems a little unnecessary given the subject matter of the painting. It’s all shades of blue and violet, swirling together in a way that seems partly sensuous, partly violent. It makes the hair on the back of his neck prickle, and he takes a step closer. That’s when he notices it: a single dot of red paint right in the middle, a focal point of all the swirling cobalts. So small that he wouldn’t notice it if he wasn’t close; so small it could almost be interpreted as a mistake.
But he knows without having to ask that it’s not an answer. He wonders who that dot represents: you, the artist? Most likely.
Without meaning to, he smiles. It’s been a long time, years really, since a piece of art provoked such thought.
“Hi.”
The voice Marcus hears next to him is soft, dulcet. He doesn’t turn to the noise quickly–from the tone in that word alone he senses a hesitance, as if you’re a fawn that’s lost its mother and you’re bound to run if he makes any sudden movements.
And, truth be told, part of him thinks he might not be able to look away even if he tried right now. There’s something so beautiful about this painting–and underneath, something so ominous. There’s an air about the work that says he might unlock the secrets of the universe if he just keeps looking.
“Hi there.” He keeps his eyes trained on “Waves In Motion” as he responds–playing the game. He’s here to brush shoulders, after all; to be the right amount of forgettable yet memorable.
“This is my best, I think,” you murmur while taking a step closer. “It took the least time of all of them, surprisingly. But… I think when you know exactly what you’re trying to convey, it just comes to you easily.”
“These are yours?” There’s admiration in his eyes and an air of something akin to disbelief in his voice as he takes in the group of canvases proudly displayed on the plain white gallery walls.
And then he turns and lets himself take you in. More specifically the curling strand of hair that falls out of your updo to frame your face, the deeply plunging neckline of your dress, the way your calf muscles work even standing still in your high-heeled shoes. You’re a work of art in your own right; the most beautiful piece he’s seen in a long time.
“Yeah.” You duck your head–shyly, modestly–and he’s hooked. There’s one thing in this building that deserves awe and reverence more than your painting, and it’s you. “You know, you’re only the second person who’s come over tonight.”
“No way. They’re all just working their way back here,” he whispers before he can calculate a more articulate response.
But it works in his favor–your giggle is gorgeous, if a sound can be described that way. Sweet and syrupy, it seeps over him as if he’s standing under a cracked honeycomb. He hasn’t actually taken a drink of his champagne, and yet he can feel his nervous system tingling. You’re just that intoxicating.
“The gallery closes in half an hour,” you tell him–a little wistfully at that. “In my defense, I don’t have any family or friends in the area. I wasn’t really expecting anyone to show, not with so many other talented artists here.”
It seems so indignantly unfair to Marcus. That you’re shoved into the far back corner of the gallery, that people haven’t come in droves from all over the country to see your work.
“Where are you from?” He asks as his mind finally starts to clear from the haze it’s been in the past few minutes. With only half an hour left on the job, he allows himself a small sip of the drink that he’s been cradling all night.
“New York. This is actually only my second exhibition,” you explain, and you almost sound shy about it; as if you need to be embarrassed about being young and fresh-faced in the art industry, as if you aren’t the most talented artist Marcus has ever met in person.
He hums in response, eyes unconsciously dragging over you once more. “You came a long way for this.”
You smile so prettily up at him, and in that moment he sees something in your eyes. He can’t describe it–maybe it’s something akin to longing. Something incomplete, unexplored. It’s familiar; it’s the red dot from your painting. Solitary amidst the swirling, lost yet not hopeless.
And just like your painting, he finds himself wanting to get lost in your eyes.
“Well, it’s not every day a gallery wants to host you,” you say after another sip of your drink. “Plus, I’ve never been to Texas before, and I needed a change of scenery.”
There’s something so charming, so boyishly intoxicating about the smile he graces you with. “How are you liking it so far?”
“It’s hotter than I’m used to,” you say with a chuckle that he echoes. “And I haven’t been able to do any exploring yet, my flight only got in a couple hours before I had to be here.”
“That’s a shame,” he hums in a tone that reveals deeper meaning. “How long are you here for? Do you have any plans?”
“A week,” you murmur. Subconsciously he leans in closer, on the edge of his proverbial seat. To seal the deal, you lean in too. “And not a damned one.”
There’s no air between you and Marcus. You exist in a vacuum for this moment–unable to breathe, choking on anticipation. He’s so close, yet way too far away. You want to be consumed by him–for him to be swirling blue; and you, a single speck of red in his midst.
The moment shatters with an audible sound–a deep, penetrating voice. “He’s still not here, huh? I don’t think your boyfriend’s coming. If he even exists.” There’s something strange in the raspy voice that drawls these words–something strange enough to immediately put Marcus on the alert.
You flinch at the sudden intrusion into your vacuum, but you recover quickly. You have to, because this intrusive stranger is standing way too close and has way too much alcohol on his breath.
And then something strange happens–you worm your arm around Marcus’s waist and press yourself firmly into his side.
“Actually, he’s right here,” you say. There’s a quality to your voice that wasn’t there before when you were just talking to Marcus–it’s firm, clipped, bordering on hostile. “He just got held up at work. Isn’t that right, babe?”
Thankfully, Marcus has always been one to think quickly on his feet. He wraps his arm around your shoulders and pulls you closer, unconsciously moving an inch or two in front of you. Protecting without really meaning to. “I’m sorry, honey. I got here as soon as I could.”
The man–burly and balding, probably a good twenty years older than you–scoffs. “Unbelievable.”
“Is there a problem here?” Marcus draws up to his full height–towering a good few inches over this strange intruder.
Whoever this guy is, he’s not completely stupid. He senses this isn’t going to be a fight he’ll win, so he backs off. “Not at all, man. Just didn’t want little miss standing here all alone the whole night.”
“Thanks,” you say with bitter reprehension. You wind even closer to Marcus–closer than this sudden farce demands. “But we’re fine now.”
He nods once–curt and unhappy, but seemingly satisfied that he’s not going to get what he wants. “Have a good night, ma’am. Sir.”
Marcus takes a mental inventory of the man as he storms off, committing his physical description and his outfit to memory. He doesn’t look like a casual art viewer, and he doesn’t look like a collector. He’s exactly the type that Marcus came here to look out for.
“I’m sorry,” you whisper as you step out of Marcus’s personal space. “He’s been hovering all night, asking me who I’m going home with and shit.”
“That’s the other guy who came over to talk to you?” It brings a deep frown to his face, a crease forming between his brows. It certainly raises a red flag–if the guy has any eye for value, of course he would be drawn to your exhibit. And if he has an eye for value, he could be the guy Marcus came for.
“Yeah.” You rub the back of your neck awkwardly and avert your gaze, as if you should be embarrassed for drawing that guy’s attention. “It’s not been the greatest night.”
Marcus hates that. He hates that you came all this way to be let down, that this is only your second exhibition and you’ve had such a bad experience with it. More than anything, he hates that he can still see the spark in your eyes when you look up at him, and he can tell that it’s dimmed.
“Gimme just a minute.”
He doesn’t mean to be so abrupt, but he wants to make it quick. He hustles to the single-stall men’s room and tugs the radio out of his inside jacket pocket to call in the man’s description. Then he turns it off, tucks it back into its concealed pocket, and goes over to the sink.
He thought he looked perfect for the part he had to play when he left his house to come here. Now, he’s too disheveled. He wets his fingertips and tries to tame the mess on top of his head; he re-buttons his shirt and tightens his tie. He looks flustered, and he’s not even surprised by it. You’ve got his heart pounding with anticipation in a way he doesn’t think it ever has before.
Butterflies fluttering on in his stomach, he emerges from the restroom to resume his position by your side.
Except you’re not by your exhibit anymore, and the crowd has thinned considerably. He checks his watch and realizes there’s only five minutes before the gallery closes for the night. Maybe you’ve decided to cut your losses and leave early.
He hates the way his gut twists with disappointment, but then he reminds himself that he didn’t come here for you. He’s working, and he needs to stay vigilant. No distractions, no complications.
“You’re still here.”
There’s a wave of relief that washes over him as he hears your voice, and this time he’s not too timid to turn towards you. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
“Thought I might’ve scared you off.” There’s a fresh cup of champagne in your hand and a hint of vulnerability in your voice, and it makes his heart pick up pace just the slightest bit. You duck your head–that shy, modest gesture again. “I… I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have just done that without permission.”
“Don’t be sorry,” he tells you, more earnestly than he’s ever said anything in his life. “I didn’t mind at all, I swear. Just had to hit the head.”
You look so deeply into his eyes he almost wonders if you aren’t looking through him. But whatever you find, you must like it.
He clears his throat and tries to not show how thoroughly unraveled he is by your gaze. “I’m Marcus, by the way.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Marcus.” You pause for a moment, and he can tell that there’s something else lingering on the tip of your tongue–so he remains silent in hopes of drawing it out.
“Do you have someone to go home to?”
There it is–the invitation he was both dreading and hoping for. He should really lie. He’s here on a job, after all–he’s supposed to avoid complications, and some instinct tells him you’re going to be much more than a simple distraction. But he’s told you the truth so far, and he doesn’t want to stop now.
“No. No, I don’t.”
This is everything that Marcus has never even considered doing. It’s late, it’s dark, it’s a little chilly for spring in Austin. The alley is grimey and drafty–your hair blows in the breeze even as you kneel down before him.
All he can do is stand there, dumbstruck with his back up against the rough brick wall, and stare down at you.
He’s still breathless from the way you’ve been kissing him–all heat and passion, fire and brimstone. Your hands ran through his hair and undid the effort he put in while in the bathroom, and his hands clutched your waist in a futile attempt to ground himself. Your lips are so soft; he thinks he could kiss you forever and never get tired of it. He was certainly planning on finding out, until you dropped to your knees in front of him.
“You… you don’t have to–”
But the way you look up at him through your lashes makes his throat close up around whatever protest he was going to try.
“I want to,” you assure him–more of a purr than a spoken statement.
And this really isn’t the place. He shouldn’t let you do this here. But he’d be lying if he said the thought didn’t make him harden in his boring gray work slacks.
Marcus has never been about excitement. He’s always strayed to the comfortable and familiar–he falls into the sweet, caring companion role with grace and ease.
And tonight doesn’t have to be that different. If you’re going to suck his dick in a dark, dingey alley, he’ll let you. But he’s going to lay his jacket down on the ground so you don’t scrape up your knees first.
You keen at the thoughtful gesture and grace him with a grateful smile as your adept fingers work his belt open. He’s straining against the seam of his pants now, begging for the attention that your gaze promises him.
If he didn’t know better, he’d think you’re every bit as eager to get his trousers and boxers down as he is.
And Lord help him, he delights in the gasp you emit when his cock springs free from its confines.
“Fuck, Marcus.” Your lips actually part as you freeze for a moment, just taking him in. He’s thick, maybe an inch longer than average, swollen head peeking through uncut skin as if begging for your waiting mouth. He curves to the left just a little bit, and you can almost see his pulse thrumming through the prominent vein that runs along the length of him.
“S’not that impressive,” he mumbles, and you know that he knows that he’s full of shit.
Your fingers almost don’t wrap all the way around him, and suddenly you’re second-guessing this back alley stint, too. You want him in bed. You want him deep inside you, kissing your face as he fucks you, hands all over your body, thrusts hard yet slow. You want it languid, you want it desperate, you want it any way he’ll give it to you. You don’t want to blow him and say goodbye.
He calculates your hesitation as something other than pure unadulterated lust, and he lifts your chin gently with his index and middle fingers.
“Hey, we don’t have to–”
Again, you cut him off–this time, by dragging your tongue from the seam of his balls all the way along his length to swirl messily around his tip. You taste every heady inch of him and then moan at the salty foreshadowing on your tongue when you catch a droplet of precum leaking from his slit.
Your hand springs into action with a long, slow stroke along his cock, and then you sink your mouth around him and he moans. Without caution or pretense, like you’re not in an alley that anyone could walk down at any moment. It’s a little more high-pitched than he’d like for it to be and his head thumps back against the brick wall hard enough to hurt, and even still he’s never felt so overwhelmed with pleasure before in his life.
Your nose meets the neat patch of hair at his base and your free hand comes up to his hip, effectively pinning him against the wall when he tries to buck greedily even further into your mouth.
No one’s ever taken him so relentlessly before. You’re insistent, pressing onward even as you gag on his length, and it makes his balls tighten in a way he’s never felt before. It’s like you’re hungry for him; like you’re doing this more for your own pleasure than for his.
Marcus Pike has been a giver his whole life. Tonight, with you, he finally decides to take.
He’d be embarrassed about how fast he comes if you weren’t so eager for it. You moan around him and push yourself as deep as you can, throat working around him desperately not to choke on the size of him. Before he can warn you he’s spilling into your mouth, maybe more than he’s ever come before, thick and salty but undeniably sweet too. You allow yourself a moment to savor him as he pulses in your mouth, tongue swirling around the sensitive head of him in a way that makes him shiver and whine.
He’s panting, nearly light-headed, when you finally pull off of him and press one last gentle kiss over his slit.
“Holy shit,” he murmurs, because there’s nothing else to say.
You giggle, and he realizes with a strange wistfulness that he would do anything to keep this girl–a girl he’s just met, a girl who’s leaving to go back to her home on the other side of the country in just a week–smiling and laughing the way she is now.
“My hotel is only a couple blocks away,” you tell him as he helps you to your feet. “Would you like a nightcap?”
You pick up his jacket and dust the grime off it–it makes him chuckle. Everything about this encounter has flown in the face of what he’s used to.
He’s never felt so alive.
“I would love a nightcap.”
Your senses wake up slower than normal.
First it’s your eyes–they tune in on the bright mid-sunrise light streaming through the open balcony blinds on the far wall. It falls in slivers and shards over the rumpled white hotel-standard bedding–the second thing your senses tune into. Everything is so soft and light, but it’s a little cold too. Especially the other side of the bed; there’s no heat remaining there at all.
You push yourself up with a grunt and let the sheets fall away from your bare torso, tired eyes scanning around the room. You notice clothes scattered all over the floor while your ears wake up enough to hear water running in the bathroom, and you can’t help the involuntary smile that spreads over your face. He’s still here.
Marcus lets the too-hot water wash over him in scalding waves, muscles still a little sore after a long night tangled together with you.
He checked his phone first thing this morning, and the gallery was quiet all night. They think the suspect he radioed in was the guy they were looking for, but they weren’t able to apprehend him. The running theory is that he might’ve recognized Marcus and decided low-value art wasn’t worth the hassle, but one guess is as good as the next until they can bait and catch the guy.
It’s the weekend now, and Marcus is thanking his lucky stars. Not only does he have a successful mission to celebrate, but he has the most beautiful woman in the world to celebrate it with.
He emerges after a few minutes, wet hair messily scattered over his forehead and wide hips straining against a low-slung hotel towel. He’s a languid Saturday morning wet dream on two legs.
“G’morning,” he hums with a smile–he doesn’t even try to hide the way his eyes dip down to hungrily take in your naked torso.
“Good morning, Marcus.”
He stalks towards you slowly, eyes darkening with each advancing step. It doesn’t take more than a second to realize he didn’t get his fill of your body last night, but you’re certainly not complaining.
He’s already starting to harden as he drops his towel and crawls over the foot of the bed, surging forward to capture your lips in a sweet kiss. If last night was desperation and passion, this morning is syrupy and sweet. He explores your mouth slowly, tongue sweeping between your lips and tracing every curve and ridge he can–almost like he’s trying to commit you to memory.
There are universes in the depths of his dark eyes. He may not say exactly what he’s thinking, but you can see it playing out in those baby browns of his. There’s something simmering underneath the surface–something more than just lust or desire.
Something dangerous.
You tug him closer and cup his face in your hands, enjoying the gentle scratch of morning stubble underneath your palms. He surges forward and presses you into the pillows as he settles himself comfortably between your spread legs.
“You’re so beautiful,” he murmurs through kisses scattered along the length of your jaw.
You know you probably look like you got run over by a bus–you toss and turn in your sleep, and it always leaves your hair a matted mess. And that’s not even mentioning the slight tremble in your thighs, left over from Marcus’s enthusiastic attention last night. But there’s so much sincerity in his voice; you don’t think he would waste his breath saying it if he didn’t mean it, and that fact alone makes your heart pound with desire.
There’s a syrupy slowness to the way he moves down your body, lips leaving behind heavy wet kisses as he works down your chest and over your stomach.
And it’s almost like he senses the protest working its way up your throat when you feel his hot breath on your thighs, because he looks up at you and there’s sternness in his gaze. You got your fill last night, and now it’s his turn.
“May I?” He looks up at you from the apex of your thighs with big, round puppy eyes that are impossible to refuse–so you nod eagerly and don’t even try.
If you were eager to have him in your mouth last night, he’s desperate.
There’s no hesitation, no build-up. It’s almost aggressive, the way he buries his face in your heat. He laps like a dog at a bowl, hips canting into the mattress involuntarily as your taste floods his mouth.
“Fuck, sweetheart,” he growls into your sopping cunt. “You taste incredible.”
You keen at the praise and card your fingers through his hair, tugging slightly at the damp, spiky strands when his tongue laves heavily over your sensitive clit.
Marcus’s greedy hands grip underneath your thighs and push them as far as you can comfortably spread them. You’re still so sensitive after at least three orgasms last night–you lost count after a point–and it serves to wind your nerves tighter than they’ve ever been wound before.
One hand slides to the junction of your thigh and his thumb comes to take over the pressure on your clit as his tongue plunges between your soaked folds. It’s even more overwhelming like this, and there’s not a thing in the world that you want to do more than let him have his fun. Especially when that hand and his tongue switch spots–his lips seal and suck around your clit while he presses two achingly thick fingers into your waiting entrance.
It actually makes your muscles tighten and your back rise off the bed as he curls his fingers just right to find that spot that makes you fall apart for him.
He can tell you’re getting close–he’s already so intune with the way your muscles twitch, the change of pitch in your moans. You whine and cry for him the tighter he winds the rubberband, and he’s eager to make it snap.
“That’s it, pretty girl,” he says over the overwhelming flutter of his fingers scissoring and curling inside you. “Let me have it.”
You squeeze your eyes shut so tightly as pleasure wracks through your body that you can see constellations. Large hands come to pin your thighs open as his tongue keeps working, lapping and gliding against your cunt with ease as a wave of arousal gushes from your entrance.
You’ve never been so wet in your life, and he’s just getting started.
He trails open-mouthed kisses up your body as you catch your breath–his slick-soaked lips coat your skin with your own arousal as he works his way up to allow you a taste of yourself.
The first wet lick of his tongue into your mouth makes you moan. It’s not the first time you’ve tasted your own slick–you’ve had a moment or two of curiosity–but it’s never been quite as enjoyable as it is on his tongue. It pairs so perfectly with the minty tang of toothpaste left on his breath and makes you hungry for more.
He moves fluidly under your direction as you push him onto his back and roll to straddle his lap all in one graceful movement. It’s perfect like this–he doesn’t have to support his weight so he can run his big meaty hands all over every inch of you, and you can kiss him as deep as you want while you grind down on his aching length.
“Shit, baby,” he pants against your lips. Those aforementioned beefy palms grasp hard at your asscheeks to guide your hips, pulling you into a slow, long grind that bumps the head of his cock against your clit deliciously.
Your pulse thrums with desperation until you’re seeing white–no more teasing, no more preamble. You take his girth in your hand and give him a firm stroke; if you had a little more presence of mind, you might be embarrassed at how wet his dick is simply from grinding against you for a few seconds.
“Go ahead, baby, take it when you’re ready.”
He gasps at the first press of his cockhead against your entrance, head flopping back against the pillows as his hands squeeze your asscheeks with bruising force.
“Shit, you’re tight,” he murmurs, throat working around a thick gulp. “You can take it baby, I know you can. Did so good for me last night.”
You think you would honestly do anything he asks of you so long as he just keeps talking like this.
It takes a moment for you to work your way down his length–he’s so mouth-wateringly thick and the curve of his cock hits the most delicious spot inside you that you didn’t even know existed.
“Atta girl,” he praises breathlessly as your hips settle flush against his. “Just sit there for a minute. So pretty on my dick.”
God, he makes your entire body flush with heat. He turns your blood to molten lava with his words, lighting every inch of skin on fire. You’ve never felt a sensation like this–so overwhelming yet so intoxicating.
You start with slow movements as his hands trace up and down your sides sweetly–it’s more like you’re grinding on him than anything else. His thumbs rub abstract little patterns into your skin as his hands work up to your tits; when he finally takes them in the palms of his hands and squeezes all pretense of soft, sweet morning-after sex flies out the window.
You drop down hard on his cock and it nearly punches the wind out of him.
“Yes!” He growls darkly. His eyes flash with something dangerous–it’s the only warning you get before his hand slaps the meat of your ass and grabs a greedy handful. “Just like that baby, use my fuckin’ dick.”
And maybe, if he was someone else, you wouldn’t be nearly as eager to follow instructions. But with Marcus, you’re nothing if not obedient.
Last night was exploration and discovery–hours into the early morning spent learning each other’s bodies, finding what makes the other squirm and whine and beg. This morning is in perfect juxtaposition to that sweet, soft, probing sex–you know what drives each other crazy now, and you each use it to your advantage. Aggressively.
He surges up to suck a pert nipple into his mouth as you set a hard pace on him, long fingers pressing into your skin hard enough to leave marks. He lands another sharp smack to your ass when your thighs start to shake–a reward for using his cock exactly how he asked.
”M-Marcus—”
I know, sweetheart,” he purrs through a guttural moan. He cants his hips up to meet your thrusts at just the right moment—he hits something so devastatingly pleasurable that your vision prickles white around the edges. “I know, it’s so much, isn’t it? It’s okay, you can let go. Come for me.”
There’s a condescending note to his voice that only makes you squeeze harder around his cock, and within seconds you’re hurtling uncontrollably into ecstasy.
He fucks you through the telltale fluttering of your cunt even when your hips stop moving; strong hands hold you in place and work you through the ebbing waves of pleasure that wrack through your entire body.
”M’so close, honey,” he grunts with a particularly sharp thrust upward. One hand comes up to cradle your jaw in his hand, forcing your eyes to meet his. “Where do you want me?”
”I-inside,” you gasp. “Come inside me, Marcus.”
He fills you as soon as he has your instruction—hard thrusts punctuated by breathy moans as he pumps you full of his release.
There’s a long, silent moment where Marcus pulls your bare chest tightly against his own and you pant into the crook of his neck while trying desperately to even-out your breathing. His fingertips dance across your skin-feather-light, soothing.
The sun is higher in the sky now and meets your eyes with blinding rays through the balcony shutters when they finally open again.
”That was amazing, honey,” he murmurs into the crown of your head. He’s caught his own breath now, but he doesn’t make any attempt to let you go. “How’re you so perfect?”
”M’not perfect,” you mumble into his shoulder; but even to your own ears, it sounds half-hearted. The truth is, he’s so earnestly honest that you believe him.
He hums his dissent with a kiss pressed to your hairline. ”You are to me.”
And you so desperately want to believe him that you don’t even try to argue.
You bask in this warm, lovely afterglow for a few moments longer before Marcus gently taps your hip. ”Come on, sweetheart. Let’s get cleaned up and I’ll buy you breakfast.”
You pull off of his softened cock with a whine and try not to get worked up all over again at the feeling of his cum leaking down your thighs. ”Th-there’s a free continental breakfast downstairs.”
”Oh, then I’ll definitely pick up the tab,” he jokes with a smirk—all you want to do is kiss his goofy, stupidly handsome face.
He pulls you into the bathroom and starts the water running to fill the tub—he’s never really been a bath guy, but your legs are a little too shaky to endure a shower. He’s so attentive—from running a damp cloth between your legs to helping lower you into the water. He doesn’t complain in the slightest when you catch his hand and ask him to join you; he just shuffles you forward and slides in behind you like it’s a casual act that he performs with every hookup.
It’s intimate. That’s really the only way to describe it. You sit between his spread legs, back to his chest, head rested back against his shoulder while his fingers ghost idle paths over your skin. You don’t talk; you don’t really need to. Somehow, you fit together like souls who have known each other for years. Like all you’ve been missing is each other.
You drift off in his arms as he traces soap over all the curves and ridge of your body, the steady beat of his heart thumping in your ear.
It breaks his heart a little bit to wake you—the fact that you’re so comfortable with him, that you trust him with such vulnerability, makes his head spin a little bit. But the water’s turning cold, and the last thing he wants is for you to come down sick or something.
He rouses you with gentle, feathery kisses scattered over your rosy-scented shoulders and neck.
”Mmm… what time is it?” You grumble, pressing your sleep-addled face further into the crook of his neck.
”Just after noon,” he whispers into your hair after glancing up at the clock on the wall.
He can feel the way your mouth shifts into a pout. “Shit. We missed breakfast.”
The adorable downward tilt of your frown as you lift your dad to look at him makes his heart flutter. “Let’s go out, then. The first farmer’s market of the season is going on downtown. I’m sure we can find something good for brunch.”
”Kinda sounds like you’re asking me on a date,” you hum with a slight smirk dancing at your lips.
”Maybe I am.” His tone is light, his meaning clear—he knows this goes beyond a one-night stand, and there’s no harm done if you’re not wanting to cross this boundary. He’d understand not wanting to get too serious about someone who lives thousands of miles away from your home, of course. He’d never blame you.
You give him your best appraising look, staring deep into those constellation-filled brown eyes. ”You’re not sick of me yet?”
”I have a feeling I couldn’t get sick of you if I tried.” There’s nothing but sincerity in his tone, in his eyes. He genuinely wants to spend time with you, even if there’s nowhere for this to really go.
You hum thoughtfully. “I do love farmer’s markets.”
You’re with Marcus more often than not over the course of the next week.
He takes you sightseeing to some of his favorite spots around Austin, brings you to his favorite restaurants, shows you his favorite movies. But he multitasks—while teaching you about himself, he learns as much as he can about you and picks activities he knows you’ll love, too.
He’s a pragmatist; he knows your time together is short, and he wants to make himself unforgettable. If he never sees you again, he wants you to think about him every once in a while and look back on this time fondly.
You spend your days while Marcus is at work painting or drawing or lingering around the gallery, and you fall asleep in his arms every night. With shades of gray moonlight and candlelight cast over your hotel room, it almost feels like this could go on forever.
He tells you to wear something nice before he picks you up on the last night–he wants to celebrate in style, which starts with reservations at an up-scale restaurant.
He’s so achingly handsome. He’s in a matching gray suit over a white button-up, top two buttons undone and no tie to be seen. His face bears the slightest five o’clock shadow and your eyes gravitate to the curve of his lips–the instant smile that takes over his face when those gorgeous brown eyes of his land on you.
If you never see him again, this is exactly how you want to remember him.
“Wow,” he whispers reverently. “You look amazing.”
It’s not the most impressive dress you own, but he looks at you like you’re wearing something worth millions–like you’re worth millions.
You lean up and kiss him, and everything feels right. His hands rest on your waist and it’s so easy to pretend that you won’t be on the other side of the country twenty-four hours from now.
The restaurant is beautiful. Dimly lit and romantic, tables spaced enough to give you some privacy. He takes your hand on top of the table and holds it the entire meal. The conversation is light and airy–you’re both stubbornly dancing around what really needs to be said.
Dessert is cleared and the wine bottle is empty by the time Marcus finally works up the courage to acknowledge the elephant in the room.
“I don’t want you to go.”
You knew this would be coming, but it doesn’t make it any easier. You avert your gaze, instead focusing on his large hand wrapped around yours and the windshield wiper motion of his thumb tracing back and forth over your palm. No one’s touch has ever sent such electric tingles through your nervous system the way his does.
You don’t know what to say, so you say nothing at all.
“Look, I…” He takes a deep breath and straightens his spine a little bit, hand leaving yours to gently cup your chin. He forces you to look him in the eyes as he breaks your heart. “I think this could really be something, if we gave it a shot.”
You haven’t lied to him yet, and you don’t plan to start now. “I… I think it could, too. If I didn’t have to go back.”
“Don’t go back then.” There’s a firmness to his voice, but it couldn’t be any more obvious that he’s begging if he actually got down on his knees. “Stay here with me. We’ll figure this out. Just… don’t go.”
And here–with his earnest eyes on yours and his gentle, loving touch on your skin–it’s easy to pretend that it’s that simple.
He takes you back to your hotel room and sheds you easily out of your dress. As cliche as it sounds, it’s not just sex this time. Things that it’s too early to say are buried deep within every kiss, every thrust. He hooks your legs over his shoulders and looks deeply into your eyes while he fills you and you’ve never felt so overwhelmingly connected.
The thud of his heartbeat is insistent in your ear as you come down from your high–so calming, so heartbreaking. You lay on his chest while his breathing evens out and soak up these last few moments of bliss. And then, once you’re sure he’s sound asleep, you carefully worm out of his grip. There’s one more thing you have to do before you go back to New York.
Loud, insistent ringing pulls Marcus from the depths of sleep. He tries to ignore it and go back to sleep, but now that his senses are alert, the sound in combination with bright Saturday morning sunlight won’t allow him the luxury. He presses his face deeper into the pillow that he’s somehow wound himself around in his sleep, but that damned ringing won’t stop.
He sits up slowly and tries to rub the sleep from his eyes–and that’s when he notices the empty sheets next to him. Your side of the bed is long cold, and he knows. Before he even sees the note on the dresser and your room key next to it, he knows you’re gone.
He finds his trousers discarded halfway between the bed and the door and pulls his blaring phone out of the pocket.
“The gallery got hit sometime early this morning. They took everything. Every goddamn piece. You need to get here now.”
His body moves on autopilot as he pulls yesterday’s clothes back on, fingers numb to all sensation as they work to button his shirt. This can’t be happening. It can’t be you.
He notices the note on the dresser as he’s threading his belt through the loops of his trousers, and his gut twists with a sickening sense of foreboding.
I really did fall for you, Marcus. But nothing good starts in a getaway car.
He’s not sure if you knew who he was the whole time and this whole thing was calculated, or if you just got lucky. He doesn’t want to believe you’re that cunning and cruel. He wants to believe that this is just a misunderstanding, that you’re out for ice or something and you’ll walk back through the door at any moment.
But you don’t.
The note is enough of a confession for him. He’ll have the power of the FBI on his side to find you–and he will find you. What he’ll do when he does, he’s not sure. He guesses he’ll know when he sees you.

PJO x DC AU
Percy's powers are growing at an exponential rate. This means that when he grows even slightly upset the ground trembles and it's scaring the people around him. Alright, he can take a hint. Besides, he doesn't want to hurt anyone he cares about. Even if his loved ones-Annabeth- don't care about hurting him. He thought they were fine after Tartarus, but he can see that his power scares her more and more everyday. So, he's leaving. Problem solved.
Percy moves to Bludhaven with a single duffel bag and a rickety wood boat that wouldn't be missed from the camp's boathouse. He sets up shop in the Swamplands by the airport. No sane person would live there, but Percy certainly would. Plus, he's banking on his ability to figure out woodworking enough to ramshackle together his own living quarters. . . . okay, a lean-to would probably be more accurate. It's not like he had any money right now, and he wasn't going to take any from his mom. She was finally doing okay. It was Percy's turn to find his own way.
So fuck paying rent. Shoddy lean-to it is.
Except when he got there it was disgusting. Beer bottles littered the marshes, shoes of all shapes and sizes floated between the grasses, and was that a flamethrower?!
Percy had expected to work his way up to a proper living situation, but this was worse than he thought. Sighing, he bent down to throw another bottle into his boat. This was going to take a while.
TLDR; Percy moves to Bludhaven to deal with his growing powers because he doesn't want to be anywhere too populated or far from NYC, so the compromise is the Swamplands outside the city. Eventually, Nightwing discovers this guy bumming it in the marshes and starts using him as an informant for any criminal activities he's witness to in the area. Percy becomes the Bogeyman hermit of the marsh that people "pay" for info and is known just as 'Jackson'. He's also grown out his hair and the start of a beard and started dressing like his dad to really sell the hermit look. Not like he cares much for personal upkeep out there.
Payments include help fixing up his property, cleaning up the marshes, and food. Meanwhile, Percy sits on his shitty lawn chair sipping fruit punch and watches a bunch of goons pick up trash. It's a good trade in his opinion.
When Nightwing is surrounded one night when he's going to visit Percy for info, an alligator comes charging out of the brush and takes a goon down. The rest scatter after its siblings appear too. Turns out Percy had adopted a clutch of abandoned gator babies when their mom was killed for sport. The hunter never left the bayou after that.
Nightwing and Percy get closer after that. *eyebrow wiggle* This has gotten long for a TLDR lol I just wanted a Dick/Percy AU so let's say that eventually Dick takes Percy home with him to the Manor after getting him a haircut and Steph is like "this is not the swamp man we were promised" but Percy absolutely refuses to get rid of the Hawaiian shirts he's stolen his dad's brand and made it his own (Poseidon keeps sending him more via Hermes Express it makes him feel connected to his son).

Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw SFW headcannons
• Loves matching with any kids he has. I can see the obnoxious hawaiian shirts from here.
•HORRIBLE at cooking. He has for sure burned water. (??)
•He’s hard to get to know at first. I feel like Bradley would be super guarded especially after losing both of his parents and his fallout with Maverick.
•Once you know Bradley for a while though he’s an open book.
•He’s a one and done type of guy. I don’t see Bradley as someone who dates around a lot. He definitely believes that when you know you know.
•He’s super protective over you. Similar to Jake, Bradley will literally drop everything to defend you.
•Is so comfortable around kids. He loves the childlike wonder that they have. Kids love him.
•Bradley is a dog person. I see him as someone who would have a big dog.
•He loves to take said dog on long walks or runs.
•Loves bragging about you to other people. He’s always saying “my partner” or “my spouse.”
•Super nurturing. It doesn’t matter who it is. It’s just in his nature.
•I don’t think Bradley listens to most modern music. The only exception is Lana Del Rey. He’s definitely an NFR guy.
•He wants a small family. One or two kids.
•I think he has a fear of dying similarly to how his dad died. Once he gets married/has kids, his job becomes a lot harder mentally.
•Plays piano on holidays. Sings happy birthday to you every year. He will sing Christmas carols during December. Plays a version of the National Anthem for the Fourth of July.
•He would LOVE it if his kid was interested in music or planes. He wants to share a common interest with his child and wants to teach them everything he knows.
•He’s a big fan of baseball. I’d imagine his favorite team is the Padres or the Dodgers. Any west coast team really. As a child though he was a huge fan of the Nationals.
•Watches the world series every year no matter what.
•Bradley loves hugs and cuddles. Whenever he’s had a hard day, he loves knowing that he can come home and cuddle with you.

HEADCANONS WITH THE BOYSSSS!!!!
My last post did pretty well, and if people like it, I figured I might as well try my hand at some more!!!!
Gaz
This guy literally has the best skin in the world, it's like looking at something carved from marble, everytime you ask about his skincare routine, he just says genetics.
He detests anything made with cinnamon, his older sister once made him try a pie she made, and by the time he was done eating it, he was literally coughing up cinnamon. Didn't say anything though, couldn't be mean to his sister like that.
HE CANNOT SIT STILL!! Gaz and soap are literally the most energetic people on base. Except Price finds Gaz charming and soap less so...
Also I for some reason think he smells like oranges and mangos???
(edited after I saw a tiktok about climate change) GAZ IS SUPER VOCAL ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE, all of the boys care to some degree (get it?) but Gaz brings hard facts and evidence everytime he talks about it, Price is now worried for Gaz's mental health
Price
Where to start? Maybe with the fact he has duplicates of his hats he keeps in his office drawer. Ghost went in there one time to give Price a report and saw Price open his Hat Drawer. Ghost had never seen so many hats
If some of y'all didn't know, if you have a low tolerance to cigars and breathe in too much of the smoke, you'll get sick. So, Price keeps a puking trash can just for the people that come into his office. Is he gonna stop smoking to prevent people from losing their lunch? Never.
When he's not on duty he wears the stupid Hawaiian shirts that middle aged dads wear on vacation. Also cargo shorts. Cause they're tactical
Soap
Again, he cannot sit still. He'll wake up in the middle of the night and you'll find him in the armory tinkering with an explosive, and even then he gets up every couple minutes just to pace around
He is very meticulous about his hair. Every morning he wakes up just a little bit earlier then everyone else and hair gels that baby into place. It does not move. It could probably be as effective as a military grade helmet at that point.
THIS MAN DRAWS PORN AND POSTS IT ON TWITTER!!! He uses an alias of course, and a very well hidden drawing tablet when he's on duty. Just ignore the fact that alot of the men he draws look just a tad bit like ghost. Just a little.
Also, while all of the COD men love a woman (or man) with meat on their bones, soap is feral. Chubby chaser all the way. There's also something really hot about a person being around his height and not taking his shit.
Ghost
He has horrible acne under that mask. It's actually awful how much he goes through just to keep it on. He's done skincare, moisturizing, pimple patches, everything, and nothing work. The worst part is, he thinks the mask is so cool it's worth it
This man is an actual dork. (Idea by @ghouljams) this guy definitely makes those little miniatures. The little details he puts into every bit of his work, whether it's wood grain, the look of water, he just does it all with such skill. The plus side is that it keeps his brain at bay, not thinking and more focused on what's in front of him. He also likes DND. Go figure.
I also do like the idea of trans ghost. He understands what it was like before he transitioned and feeling ashamed of his size when he used to be forced into the stereotype of what a woman should look like. So when people fuck with you about your size, he's right behind you like he's gonna kill them.
Authors note: the only thing I'm afraid of as I start writing is 1. The fan fic author curse, and 2. People actually paying attention to me, my anxiety is gonna kill me, lol. Anyway, hope y'all are having a great day!!! Bye!!!

Hi!! Can I request a request for a Sanji fluff fic where he and the reader were exploring an island but the reader fell and his leg got broken and cut and now Sanji needs to set the bone Otherwise it will come out of the wound.? Sorry if this sounds harsh or something, but I want to see how Sanji will calm the reader down.
Here you go! Don't have much to say except sorry i took long ive been celebrating Halloween by treating myself to sleeping. Im actually hanging out with friends rn but thought i'd finish this up for you
OH MY GOD
Sanji x male reader. Platonic. 2199 words. Gore warning and broken bone obviously.
“You really are quick with things, Sanji. You bought groceries, brought them to the ship, and now you’re exploring with me.” You say to the cook as you hike up a mountain, turning to him as you walk backwards. “You even changed out of your suit super fast to go hiking! Then again with this weather you’d die of heat stroke with a suit on. Nonetheless you’re doing a lot better than me too…” You fan yourself with the collar of your shirt, it’s humid and hot. You’re starting to feel gross with all the sweat and humidity on your skin and hair, maybe you should’ve used something for this but you underestimated the weather.
“Of course I’m quick, I always need to make sure the ship is stocked for Nami-san and Robin-chan. Maybe you’re just slow.” He says a bit mockingly at the end and you grumble a bit. He’s not sweating as much as you either, and it’s not that you're wearing anything worse than his loose Hawaiian shirt and shorts, your clothes have as much and maybe even more airflow! Yet here you are, moistly uncomfortable. You’re getting a little jealous.
“You have an advantage because of your legs, not that I’m weak!” You defend your honor, “Plus I’m not doing badly eith-” unfortunately that’s interrupted as you step on a rock wrong, your ankle twisting. Sanji’s eyes widen and he reaches out to you, but it’s too late. You’re falling. You look down, your breath quick. If you’re going to survive this you need to land properly. Fate has other plans though as you move to land on your legs, you forgot this mountain isn’t straight down. One of your legs slams into a jutting rock, slashing into the flesh and snapping the bone as you scream in pain. Sanji had already hopped off of the mountain to catch you, but he isn’t falling fast enough. The sound of your scream and a snap makes him rush, having to use his airwalk to force himself down quicker. He finally spots you and grabs onto your arm, the impact on the rock had at least slowed your fall a bit. The motion hurts your shoulder but he’s able to grab your waist as well to stop it from dislocating. The problem now is that his air walk can’t support the two of you, especially when you’re both already falling.
“Shit!” He curses, trying to slow down the fall with his ability, which works but still doesn’t soften the impact enough to not hurt. The only solstice is that, because the mountain isn’t straight down, he’s able to use a few jutting rocks to slow you both down more. Eventually you both land with Sanji holding you, the impact on his feet sending vibrations through his body. He’s safe, though his feet hurt. Once the vibrations stop he collapses onto his butt with a sigh of relief, you on his lap. The snap he heard earlier pops into his mind. He looks at your body and goes pale when he notices your leg, he may be safe but you aren’t. “Fuck..!” He sets you on the ground, blood is pouring from the wound and he can see the bone peeking out.
“i..is it bad..?” Your voice is hoarse and weak as you try to sit up, which is quickly stopped by Sanji pushing you back down.
“Shut up, don’t look and just lie there.” The adrenaline is making the pain numb but he doesn’t know how long that’ll last before you end up struggling from the pain. He curses that he doesn’t have anything with him, and that he can’t bring you to Chopper in this state. He could move you quickly with his speed but the problem is your leg. At that speed, and with it unable to be tucked anywhere like an arm, it would be moving and getting worse. He slowly rips away anything that could be around the wound, “Don’t move, you’re going to mess me up.” and tries to make sure you and/or him don’t worsen it. “Ugh.” It’s gross seeing the bone almost poking out.
“how bad is i-” You try to sit up again but he shoves your upper body down.
“I said don’t move!” He barks and stands up with you laying on the ground, sighing with a hand through his hair. “I’m gonna find something to splint your leg, stay here.”
“What if a bear comes?”
“Tough luck.” He lights a cigarette, realizing maybe he was being harsh from stress. “I’ll be back quick. Promise.” Gentler now, he runs off to find a stick to splint, leaving you there. Your adrenaline is starting to wear off and you clench your jaw, hoping that it’ll somehow make more; or at least make it last til you can get to Chopper. Meanwhile Sanji is looking for a stick appropriate enough to use, trying to calm his own panic that his friend is counting on him. Once he finally finds one he runs back to see you with your eyes closed. “Shit shits shit, (Y/n)!” He crouches down next to you and pats your cheek.
“i’m awake, just tired.” You groan, your eyesight blurry from disassociation.
“Too bad, stay awake i-i can’t- if you—just-” He keeps stuttering, panicking while he tries to position the stick so it’s not making the damage worse. He needs to do this, if he messes up he could make everything worse, even disable you. This isn’t when Zoro’s injured, he’s sturdy with a higher pain tolerance than someone with CIP disease, you feel pain; and he actually cares if you feel that. “just.. relax.” It sounds like he’s trying to calm himself down too. “I’m going to try my best.” Even if he doesn’t want to, he ends up having to slightly move the bone so that it isn’t stabbing through your flesh, flinching when you slap a hand over your mouth to muffle a loud curse. He rips the cloth of his shirt to tie the stick to your leg, but he can see the way you’re panting and struggling to keep your eyes open. You’re going to bleed out and he can’t do anything else. If he bandaged the wound he’d harm the bone, and it’s not like he could sew it. “I’m going to slowly lift you up.” He whispers and puts you carefully over his shoulder. Sanji wishes there was a way to carry you better but anything else would be worse, this way he could at least hold onto you by your back and not leg. “Don’t fall asleep, please.” His voice is shaky as he starts to run.
“okay..” You’re cold, the wind is making you colder. Is it even a hot day out? You remember it was but if it was why is everything so cold. You start to shiver and get dizzy, breath shallow and rapid. He notices this and tries to keep you closer, sharing body heat even if it isn’t doing much from the wind. “thank you..” You manage to say, choking up. “for everything, for trying to save me even now. you’re a good friend and your cooking was always good.” This is how you’re going to die, your eyes tear up.
“Stop, stop talking. My cooking is good, and you’ll keep tasting it. Don’t act like you’re already dead.” The cook scolds you as he runs back to the Sunny, ignoring how cold you’re starting to get. Once you two make it to the Sunny he hops onto it, you wincing from the jolt of landing. Zoro, who was napping, immediately wakes up and sees the cook while sensing something is off. Once he sees you and your injury he scowls and stands. “Where’s Chopper?” He sighs and starts walking towards the railing of the ship quickly.
“He isn’t here yet, I’ll go get him.” Zoro says which is quickly stopped with a leg in front of him.
“Hell no, I’ll go look for him. Stay with (Y/n) before you get lost.” Sanji states, sensible enough to stop the swordsman from going on a fruitless journey.
“Lost? The only thing lost is your brain, cook.” He can't let it slide though, swordsman’s pride.
“I’m saying this shit for your own good, mosshead!”
“Hah!?”
“You’re useless with directions!”
“You’re just useless in general!”
‘guys i’m bleeding out.’ You weakly think to yourself.
“Hey I’m back!” Chopper walks onto the ship holding some bags, cheerful, which stops when he spots you looking pale. “(Y/n)!?” He drops his bags and runs over to you and Sanji, stopping the fight when the cook spots the little reindeer.
“Chopper, someone finally useful.” He still takes a jab at Zoro though, who barely contains a retort so Chopper can work. “His leg broke while we were exploring, I splinted his leg but couldn’t do anything else.” The doctor nods and takes it from here, carrying you to bring you to the medical room. Once the door is shut as he goes inside the ship Zoro’s eye trails to Sanji.
“Of course you couldn’t do anything else.”
“Can you shut up!?”
______________
Chopper finishes bandaging and treating your leg, sighing in relief when he’s done. “Don’t move too much.”
“Yeah I keep getting told that.” You look at the blood bag connected to your arm, feeling better already, when there’s a knock at the door. Chopper opens it and it’s Sanji holding a plate of food, catered to help you.
“You said he could eat, yeah?” Sanji asks the doctor and he nods. “Good.” He comes inside and looks at you, placing the plate on the nightstand next to you. “Here.” He hands another to Chopper, who missed a meal to treat you. “You too.” The reindeer brightens up.
“I’m gonna eat this outside! Call me if you need anything!” He says happily, then runs outside to eat in the Sun.
…
…
It’s awkward! You’re a guy so Sanji’s never been super nice to you, not as mean as others but not nice like this! Though you suppose you’ve never had a broken leg he had to set before. It feels weird having him be so caring with no backlash, you even started getting emotional near him earlier. You reach a hand out to grab the plate but you can’t place it on your lap properly since your leg is in a sling, it’d be uncomfortable to have to constantly twist to get a bite too. The cook sighs and grabs a chair to sit at the bed, grabbing the plate to put on his lap. Your eyes widen. “Are you going to feed me-”
“As if! I put it here so you don’t have to keep twisting, you could drop the food too.” He hands the fork to you. “You have two perfectly good arms.” That makes more sense, you grab the form and stab it into a piece of chicken.
“It’s good.”
“I know, and I told you you would taste it again.” He clutches the plate a bit tighter, remembering the words you spoke as if they were your dying ones. “So don’t thank me for ‘trying’ to save you. I did. You’re here and you’ll keep tasting this over and over.” His voice is getting shaky again, it must’ve been traumatizing having your dying friend in your arms.
“I’m sorry for stressing you out, I said those things because I didn’t want you to blame yourself if I died. I’m the one who twisted my ankle and broke my leg.” You feel guilty.
“Don’t act as if that would make me happy. I was worried, you’re always—doing things like this. You thought you were going to die and you didn’t ask for me to hurry up or get angry you were trying to soothe me. Me! Like you weren’t the one dying!” His hand goes to his head, running his fingers through his hair.
“I was plenty scared, you were soothing me too.” At that Sanji stands up, places the plate on the chair, and paces the room. He almost leaves but he wants to make sure you eat everything.
“I…” He rubs his eyes. “I’m glad you’re alive. I should’ve done a better job at setting the bone, I’m sorry.” You reach over and manage to get another bite of chicken.
“Yeah it hurt really bad, but you aren’t a miracle worker. I just hope I can walk soon, it’d suck being a liability.”
“I’m sure you will, just try not to force yourself by moving-”
‘again?’
“-and eat up.” He picks the plate up again and sits back down with it on his lap. “I’m not a doctor but I’ll keep cooking dishes for your recovery. Don’t get picky.” He takes the fork from you and stabs it into multiple parts of the dish, shoving it in your mouth as a nice combination of flavors. “If I find an empty plate I’m forcing it down your throat.” Sanji grumbles, not that he would actually do that. He just wants you to get better, hope you have a big stomach.

ANDDD one more thing: my request page has updated also!

“Wait, you’ve never been on a bike before?”
“I’ve been on a bike. I’ve never been on a motorcycle.”
Maverick scoffs and then cocks a brow, a smirk tugging at his lips in his frail attempt at reading you, or at least pretending he knew you.
Except he doesn’t, because out of the many outings at the bar, tonight had been the first time he’d spotted you. You were ashamed to admit that it was kind of flattering having him follow you around for a good half an hour, even after you locked eyes with mustache Hawaiian shirt blonde guy across the room. Ah, it was all a game. But God, was Maverick pretty. And charming. You couldn’t decide whether you were bad at playing hard to get or if you simply didn’t mind being the game.
(It was definitely the former.)
Panic filled you later that night when you watched him slip his jacket on on the opposite side of the room. He was still distractedly rambling with his friend, however, and you took the opportunity to push past at least 5 people and make it out of the door before he did.
What to say or do the moment he stepped out? Your head was empty. But hey, he’d see you out there, make another flirtatious comment, make you blush and then it’d go on from there, right? God, please.
This had to have been like the fourth time you’d seen him. He was most certainly the prettiest out of all the aviators that confidently waltzed into the bar every time you and your friend met for drinks.
Miramar. A lovely place, truly.
Beautiful, too. The sunset is beginning to form, and you step towards the wooden fence separating the sand from the small parking lot in front of the building. A packed bar, only a few vehicles. You wonder if any of them belong to Maverick. You pray that he walks this way at all.
The beach in front of you is littered with people, families, couples. There is chatter everywhere, drowning out the sound of the bell on the door behind you, or the sound of his voice if he happens to be walking out, talking to his friend.
That’s why when you eventually zone out maybe a good ten minutes later, you don’t notice that he’s already walked past you, striding towards the vehicle closest to you. The motorcycle. Red, black, adorned with decals that match the patches on his pretty jacket. You wish you’d noticed.
He’d certainly noticed you, watching you avoid his gaze as he swung a leg over and took a seat. “Going for a swim?”
FUCK.
Tongue in your cheek, you meet his eyes. “No. I.. needed some air. Where’s your friend?”
“Where’s yours?” A cheeky smile spread on his face as he reached for the handles.
Oh, he’s sooooooo—
“Inside. I’m uh, actually waiting for another friend right now. She’s picking me up soon, I think.” Lies, lies, lies.
“In a car?”
“On a motorcycle, actually. How fast does yours go?” Jesus Christ. You know nothing about motorcycles, by the way.
He leans slightly forward, intrigued by your response. “Faster.”
“Hm.” You glance out at the shoreline again, at the sun turning bright orange. You feel the warmth on your cheeks. Stupid. You’re playing hard to get again, for fuck’s sake. He’s too pretty, it makes you nervous.
Lucky for you, he breaks the tense feeling in your stomach with a laugh. “Actually?”
He sticks the key into the ignition, filling you with the slight panic from before that he’s slipping away.
You fake a snicker, although it comes out dry and humorless. “I’m kidding. I don’t know a thing about motorcycles.”
The sudden rev of the engine startles you, and he smiles. “Some people are just meant to look pretty on the back of ‘em, I think.”
There was already a warmth to your cheeks, but now it’s heat. “Well.. that sounds like fun.”
Furrowed brows. “Wait, you’ve never been on a bike before?”
You snicker again, this time for real. “I’ve been on a bike. I’ve never been on a motorcycle.”
Maverick scoffs and then cocks a brow, a smirk tugging at his lips in his frail attempt at reading you, or at least pretending he knew you. Playfully rolling his eyes, he revs the engine again and waves you over with his hand. “Come on.”
Your face falls. A different kind of panic. “Huh?”
“Just a quick ride. Before your friend gets here.”
“A-are you sure?”
“You’re scared?” He grins.
“I—No. I just..” You hesitantly make your way over, your legs suddenly weak. “I drank a little, so I don’t—”
“Can you relax?” He laughs again, his laughter as pretty as he is. “It’s not scary, I promise. Here, step on that part. Just hold onto me and hop on.” He points down below and then sticks his arm out for you to grab.
“I’m not scared,” you mumble as you manage to perch yourself on the space behind him, careful not to grip his arm too tight. “I think you’re a little strange, is all.”
“How so? You gotta hold onto me, sweetheart.” Another engine rev. What is his deal?
You lean forward as much as you can, pressing yourself to him and wrapping your arms around his middle. The seat behind his is slightly raised, and your face absentmindedly presses into the back crook of his neck. It’s too late to pull back when you realize, and the heat in your cheeks starts to burn. Nevertheless, you go through with your accusations.
“Well,” you begin, conscious of your voice as to not be loud in his ear. “You follow me around the bar for some stupid bet, and.. now you’ve forced me onto your bike.”
Ha. As if you hadn’t planned all of this. Sort of.
Another pretty laugh. “It’s a motorcycle,” he mocks you.
That gets a laugh out of you, squeezing your arms around him a bit as he starts to move.
“Although, I do have to say—” He halts, a foot firm on the ground, and turns to look you over his shoulder. “Out of anybody I’ve followed around the bar, you’re the only one I’d give a ride to.”
God. You think you’re already in love with him. “That so?”
He presses his lips together and nods, fake serious.
Pressing your forehead to the back of his jacket, you chuckle. “I guess that means I owe you something.”
“I’ll start driving on one condition,” he offers, his tone playful.
“Hm?”
“Give me a kiss.”
Oh boy. It’s easy by now; you’re already melting into him. Glancing up, your surroundings become a blur and all the outside chatter, the bell on the door and the sound of the other cars go completely silent as you lean your neck to reach. It’s a peck, but it’s complete; all of your lips feel the soft skin of his cheek, plump from a smile under your kiss. And then your chin goes to rest on his shoulder, and next thing you know, you’re off.
There’s suddenly wind; you weren’t prepared for your hair to flow, as he took off from the parking lot and immediately down the road.
You’re clinging onto him with all your might, maybe a little scared for a moment, but then it starts to feel nice. You don’t even recall the moment he’d slipped his aviators on; perhaps the little kiss you gave him left you in awe instead of vice-versa, or maybe it was the drinks you’d had earlier? Maverick says something but you barely hear it, your stomach fluttering in excitement as he swerves between cars to get out of their way, to fly by beyond them on the road and to make the moment about just the two of you. Nobody else on the road.
He turns onto a different road, this one longer and less crowded, and you squeal as he starts going faster. A euphoric feeling overtakes you, and even in the wind, through the sound of the engine and Maverick’s muffled voice, you’re convinced you can’t let him slip away after this one either.
“Maverick!”
Wind, wind, wind. The engine.
Tapping a hand on his side instead, you catch his attention. He slows down just a bit, momentarily glancing over his shoulder again before looking back at the road.
“You wanna stop?” he yells.
“No!” you shout back. “I just wanted you to know something!”
“What is it?!”
You lean closer to his ear, face in the crook of his neck again. “I was lying! There is no friend!”
He grins. “I know!”

@saltydkart-reblogs
Designs under the cut!
JAYWEED:
Jayweed used to be part of the Sprigatito line before death, as evident by his cat-like features and his vague association with plants.
His arms are transparent, and can't really come into contact with anything besides Jayweed himself.
Can see spirits and talk to them, but chooses not to. He doesn't want to "waste his time" with the dead.
The creepiest thing about Jayweed is that his pupils aren't attached to his eyes... I...don't know what to do with that information but hey! It's info!
Somehow able to escape the friendbox without any outside interference. We don't know how he manages to do that.
He knows where you are. Start running.
LUKE:
Despite popular belief, Luke is not affiliated with Tulip in any way, shape, or form. They have done a collaboration at one point though.
He started his cult after growing bored of his mundane life as a simple model. He knows all the stuff he says is completely fake, but his followers still eat it up anyways. Pests, the lot of them.
Luke often goes on different podcasts in order to preach his word to a wider audience. Most of them seem to be outputted by him... well except for Braidy and Mykyie.
Luke is the only one to know about Cookie's past, but he never brought it up to anyone else for some reason...
He isn't afraid to put himself in danger, in fact he seems to enjoy the thrill of it.
It takes approximately 45 minutes for Luke to do his hair.
GERBICYCLE 2:
Gerbicycle 2 was made by Turo after being commissioned by Iono to make a delivery bot for her.
He met both Grace and 4est before the events of friendlocke, as they were all in Area Zero at some point in the past
It is scarily easy to convince him to go through even the most ridiculous of plans, as Gerbicycle doesn't exactly put much thought into consequences and stuff like that. It seems that somebody took advantage of that.
He initially wasn't programmed to feel emotions, though he is slowly learning how to.
When he's not in his work attire he likes to wear hawaiian shirts... it is unknown when or why he started to wear them.
Gerbicycle 1 died of food poisoning... how that happened to a robot is unbeknownst to me.
That's it for now! Uhmm... disintegrates
#THEYRE HERE THEYRE HERE AHUGYDVHJKFOEIUY#I feel like I drew Peppy a little bit differently this time around. I think it's the eyes hrrmmm#Only two more batches to go and Ill finally be free... ough#but yeah heres Jay Luke and Gerber!!#cherris canvas#friendlocke#friendlocke violet#violet gijinka au#saltydkdan#cw eye contact#cw eye imagery#<- thanks luke

Miramar, nine months ago
You didn’t think you’d ever find yourself back in the Hard Deck. At least not by yourself anyway. It had been just a little short of three months since the break-up and moving back to North Island. Your friend from high school, Alyssa, had tried to get you to go out with her on many occasions, but the pain in your chest stopped you from going. You knew that it would but unlikely that you would run into him, but even the slightest possibility made your chest start to hurt. But here you are tonight, out celebrating Alyssa’s birthday at the Hard Deck, feeling your heartbeat pick up a bit at the sight of any Naval aviator walking through the door.
“You need to stop stressing,” Alyssa said, coming up to you and placing two shots in front of you.
“And you think shots are the way to do it?” You asked and Alyssa nodded, pushing the small glasses towards you.
“Loosen up, babe. Your wound tighter than a virgin.”
“Who’s a virgin?”
Now that was a voice that you didn’t expect to hear tonight. You looked over your shoulder to see none other than Bradley Bradshaw standing there wearing a ridiculous Hawaiian shirt and his sunglasses on his eyes. You smiled as you turned to give him a hug. You hadn’t seen him since he made the flight up to Lemoore to help you bring all your stuff back down.
Bradley was never a fan of your relationship with Jake. He was always weary of it, waiting and watching for the moment when Jake would inevitably fuck up, and then Bradley would swoop in. But when Jake showed Bradley the ring he had gotten you, Bradley knew that there was nothing in this world that was going to stop you from becoming Mrs. Jake Seresin. When Bradley got the facetime call from you, he expected to hear cries of joy and to see you flashing that almost too big diamond in his face. Except he was met with your tear stained face and you begging Bradley to explain what happened on the Uranium Mission. He wasn’t going to tell you all the details about, you were never supposed to know, but seeing you in such pain, Bradley was going to tell you until you asked him about “the girl Jake was with” and he knew right away this was more than just about flying.
“I missed you,” You said as Bradley hugged you back.
“I missed you too,” He said and kissed the top of your head, “How are you settling in?”
“I’m staying with my parents, how do you think?” You deadpanned and Bradley laughed. He knew you loved your parents and always looked forward to visiting from Lemoore, but moving back in with them was a different story.
“Well isn’t this reunion just fun!” Alyssa said, “Maybe you can coax her into doing shots with me, Bradshaw?”
Alyssa got along surprisingly well with Bradley. At first, you thought that she maybe even had a thing for him, but she assured you that Bradley did not have the right parts to attract her. The two of them were like bonus siblings, and even argued like it. Alyssa was like the devil on your shoulder, always encouraging you to do something stupid like hop the pool fence at the country club, while Bradley was the voice of reason and the one who would talk to cops out of not fining you with trespassing.
“Come on, Bug! Don’t be such a stiff,” Bradley said and pushed the shots closer to you.
“Just these two!” You said, “No more after this!”
You wish that those words had been the truth. And you wished that you would’ve taken a shot of anything else but tequila. You should’ve known that Alyssa was going to give you tequila shots, the girl could drink it like it was water. You, on the other hand, felt tipsy after just those two shots. The night was a blur as you drank with Bradley and Alyssa, going from the Hard Deck to another bar not far away from base. The only reason you had ventured out was because you told them you wanted to go dancing, and Penny was not about to let you dance on top of the bar.
“Ya know,” You shouted over the music as you danced with Bradley, “I’ve always had a thing for you.” Your words were slurred and your eyes a bit bleary as you threw your arms around Bradley’s neck. He chuckled as he rested his hands on your hips, pulling you closer to him.
“I know you did,” Bradley said back, “It was obvious. Had my own little fan club at age thirteen.”
“Oh shut it,” You playfully shoved him, but Bradley just pulled you right back into him. It was some overplayed pop song bursting through the speaker, something that neither you nor Bradley listened to. But the bass from the speakers seemed to push you two together and you found yourself grinding your ass against Bradley’s front.
“Didn’t know you could dance like this?” Bradley said, his hot breath fanning over your neck and shoulders.
“There’s a lot you don’t know,” You said back, tilting your head to rest against his shoulder. You had never noticed the different colors of brown in his eyes until this moment. You could see the lighter strands of gold and brown reflecting from the lights in the bar. You reached your hand up, your fingers running gently over the scars on his cheek. You could remember the day he got them, and how he said they made him seem ugly, but you told him that they made him unique. Gave him more of a story to talk about.
Blame it on the alcohol or the liquid courage in your body, as you leaned up to kiss Bradley. It had both taken you by surprise, a gasp leaving his lips, but he quickly recovered. He turned you around to face him, so he could kiss you properly, his hands roaming your body and pulling you in, as if it were possible, closer. Your hands tangled in his brown locks, feeling the soft curls between your fingers. You could feel the hardening of his cock against you, and pulled away breathlessly.
“I’m so sorry,” Bradley said, “I shouldn’t have-” you cut off his apology by kissing him again.
“Bradley,” You said against his lips. You looked up at him, seeing his big brown eyes blown with lust, his lips red from the kiss. You pulled him in close again, “I need you.”
Bradley nodded and kissed you again, “You got me, sweetheart.”
— — —
It had been two days since Jake saw the letter that held the results of the paternity test. It was three days of radio silence throughout the whole house. He wouldn’t leave, despite every molecule in his body telling him that he should. He didn’t want to leave in case you went into labor early or something else were to happen. You still hadn’t opened the envelope. It sat crumbled on top of your dresser where Jake had left it.
You expected him to yell at you when you told him about sleeping with Bradley a week before you slept with him, but he didn’t. Instead, he just looked at you with disappointment in his eyes, and left your bedroom quietly. He went down to his own and locked the door so you wouldn’t come in and try to talk to him. And that’s how it has been every night. He would come home from work, help you make dinner, sit and eat with you in awkward silence, help you clean up and then go to his room for the night.
It was painful. The whole thing was absolutely painful. You wish he would get mad at you. You wished he would yell or slam the doors or do something other than give you the silent treatment. This was worse than any fight that you two could’ve had. It was worse because you didn’t know what he was thinking. Maybe he was thinking that Rooster was right, and he should’ve just sent money and stayed away from you. Maybe he was thinking his father was right and he should’ve had the test done a long time again. Or maybe he was thinking about it when he said he’d take you to court and fight you for custody. You gulped as you thought of the mess that could lead to. Courtrooms, and lawyers, and tears, and even more pain. And it was all because you couldn’t just let things be.
By the third night of sleeping alone, you had had enough. You had gotten used to Jake's presence next to you and hearing his loud snoring. Herc had taken the spot that Jake used to lay, and as much as you loved the dog, you needed Jake’s body next to yours. You huffed as you pushed yourself up, slipping on your robe and slippers as you walked down the hall towards his room. His door was shut and you knew that it was probably locked but you knocked anyway.
“Jake!” You said, knocking on his door, “Can you open the door please? We need to talk.” You could hear shuffling from the other side of the door, and you peered down to see that the light was still on, “I know you’re awake!” You knocked again, “Please, this is important.” There was more shuffling and you were starting to grow annoyed as you knocked harshly again on the door, “Open the fucking-”
“What do you want?” Jake asked as he ripped the door open. You suddenly felt small looking at him. His body was bare save for his boxers, his hair was messy and his eyes were red as if he had been crying.
“I want to talk to you,” You said and Jake scoffed, “Please.”
“No,” Jake said and went to shut the door on you, but you held your hand out stopping it, “Go back to bed.”
“I can’t sleep,” You admitted, “You are the only one who seems to be able to get her to calm down at night, and I need you.”
“Yeah? Or do you need Rooster to come talk to his kid,” That hurt more than it needed to. Jake felt immediate guilt when the words left his mouth but he couldn’t show that, so instead he clenched his jaw and stared at you as tears welled up in your eyes.
“I said I was sorry,” Your voice cracked as you spoke, “I never meant for this to happen at all! The paternity test wasn’t supposed to break-”
“Then why did you do it?” Jake asked the question that had been lingering between the two of you for days: why? Why did you sleep with Rooster? Why did you sleep with Jake? Why hadn’t you told Jake about this sooner? Why did you get the test done at all? There were so many why’s but you didn’t have any of the answers. But you gave Jake the best one you could think of.
“Because I don’t want you to waste your time,” You answered truthfully and Jake sighed.
“I wouldn’t be wasting my time, and I haven’t wasted any time,” Jake said, “We were both better off living in blissful ignorance than knowing at all.”
He was right. The thought that this baby might be anything but Jake’s had only crossed your mind once, very early on in your pregnancy, but until a couple weeks ago, you never doubted it. But now, as the results sat in the room down the hall, you were doubting every single thing. You were angry at yourself for not knowing sooner and possibly depriving one man of important milestones and time during your pregnancy.
“But, since you opened that can of worms. . . I can’t sleep either,” Jake said, “I can’t sleep knowing that this baby might not be mine, and that the father isn’t here. It’ll fucking suck and hurt worse than any injury I have ever had, but if it is his, you can’t deprive Rooster of any time he has left before the baby is born.”
“I’m scared to open it,” You reached into the pocket of your robe and held out the letter. Jake hadn’t seen it since he nearly tore it to pieces in his hand. He frowned as he reached out and took it from your hands. You followed him wordlessly into the guest room and sat down on the bed. You looked down at the floor as Jake tore the letter open and unfolded it.
His green eyes searched over the words in bold letters.
‘Y/N KAZANSKY’
PATERNAL DNA RESULT:
BRADLEY J. BRADSHAW: NEGATIVE MATCH’
Jake felt like the air had reentered his lungs as he looked at the results. The baby wasn’t Bradley’s, the baby was truly Jake’s. He felt like celebrating, but then he saw the look of fear on your face, and he handed you the letter to read for yourself. You gasped and then looked up at Jake, fresh tears rolling down your cheeks.
“I’m so-”
“It’s okay,” Jake said cutting you off, “Now we know, and I can tell my father that we have the results,” Everything coming out of Jake’s mouth sounded so formal, so unlike the man you had started to fall in love with all over again, “Do you need anything else?”
“N-No,” You shook your head.
“Then can you please leave my room so I can get some sleep? I have to be up early for work.”
You felt like crying all over again as you stood up from the bed and walked past Jake, not saying anything to him. You thought that once you had the results things would go back to normal between the two of you, but you were wrong. Jake clenched his jaw as you shut the door, and he sat down in the same spot you occupied. He wasn’t sure what to feel. Sure, he was angry that you had done the test without his knowledge. He was mad at his dad for even suggesting that the baby was anyones but his. And he was mad that you had hooked up with Bradley, and never said anything.
The two of you were broken up during that time, and you were free to do what you want with who you wanted. Jake couldn’t lie and say that he didn’t hook up with a few women after you left Lemoore. But he was also spending every night coming home to an empty house and crying himself to sleep. He was taking every single mission that he could, flying like he was not afraid to not make it back home, and filling his liver with enough alcohol to probably start a house fire. It was his fault that you had left due to a lie that he had factored up in his mind because he was scared to take the next step. But he didn’t know that it had pushed you right into the arms of a man he was always jealous of.
Jake thought it was dumb to be jealous of Bradley Bradshaw. The man didn’t have hardly anything to be jealous of. His parents were dead, he didn’t have a family, he had hardly even had a name for himself outside of the Navy. Bradley would probably have to serve his whole career in the Navy to have a good retirement, but Jake. . . Jake could walk away tomorrow and be just fine. But what Jake was jealous of was the way Bradley had always fit so comfortably in your life. Bradley knew the right things to say, the right things to do. Jake always felt like he was stumbling in the dark when it came to you.
But the anger that Jake was feeling was slowly starting to subside. The results of the question that had been running through your minds for the last week or so had been answered. There was no more speculating, no more wondering. He was having a daughter with you. He was going to be a father in a number of weeks. But why wasn’t he feeling joy or happiness?
— — —
“I didn’t think he wanted to do anything for his birthday?” Alyssa asked as you walked down the aisles at Target. You were looking for a gift to get Jake. Something that would say ‘I'm sorry I slept with my best friend and didn’t tell you that you might not be the father of the baby, but now we know that you are’. Things were still awkward at the house, and it was starting to give you anxiety even thinking about going home.
“He doesn’t,” You said, looking at some random wallet, “But it’s his 30th birthday, it’s a big deal.”
“He’s still not talking to you?”
You sucked in a breath and turned to look at her, “I don’t know what to do.” Your voice cracked and Alyssa moved quickly to hug you. It had been weeks since you had been hugged, and you didn’t realize you were touch starved until this moment. You cried into Alyssa’s shoulder as she rubbed your back, shushing your cries and glaring at the people walking by.
“It’s okay,” Alyssa said.
“It’s not okay!” You cried, “God, why do I have to fuck everything up!?”
“You didn’t fuck anything up,” Alyssa said and pulled back from you. She reached into her purse and handed you a kleenex, “Should you have not slept with two men in a span of two weeks? Probably not. But at least you are doing the right thing. Have you told Bradley?”
You nodded, “He’s not upset as I thought he would be. He never thought it was his anyway. I was actually smart then and we used a condom. He said he checked it for leaks and there weren’t any but he was willing to do it to help me get some peace of mind.”
“Well at least you have him,” Alyssa grabbed your hand, “Jake is so stupidly in love with you and this baby, that this is not going to deter him from getting the final goal.”
“And what is that?”
“You. Y/N, he wants you. He wants this baby. He wants his family. It’s all he’s ever wanted in life. He was just too blind and scared to see it.”
You looked down at your belly, seeing it move from the baby kicking. Your mom said the other day it looked like you had started to drop, and you could feel the baby sitting lower in your hips. Your due date was still about two weeks away, but you knew that really didn’t mean much. Babies came when they were ready, due date or not.
Alyssa was right, all Jake had ever wanted in life was a family of his own. His own family was crap. His father was a cold heartless monster, and his mother was not much better. His sisters hardly talked to him unless it was around the holidays and they were sending their kids’ Christmas lists. He had found solace and comfort within your family. Your parents welcomed him the very first time they met him. Your siblings, even Gia, got along with him. Every holiday, every vacation, every birthday for the past five years, Jake had spent with the Kazanskys. He wanted a family of his own, just like yours.
“What do I do, Ally?” You asked and she smiled sadly at you.
“You let him come to you, when he’s ready,” Alyssa said, “He’s still scared of his own shadow. You can’t corner a scared dog. Now come on, I think I know the perfect gift to give him.”
— — —
Jake was not feeling up to drinks tonight. He just wanted to stay at home and relax. Maybe find a baseball game on TV to watch or find a book to read. For the last week you had been avoiding each other by staying on opposite ends of the house. If you were in the nursery folding clothes or moving things around, Jake was down stairs in the living room or kitchen. If you were in the kitchen or living room, Jake would be up in his room. The only time you ever saw each other was in the morning, at night, or at your doctor's appointments with doctor Miller. You had your final check up the other day, and she said you were on track to hopefully deliver within the next week on the 15th, which would be Jake’s actual birthday.
“I don’t want to be here,” Jake said to Phoenix as she dragged him by his wrist up the stairs, “Why are you making me be here?”
“Because my girlfriend spent her hard time and money with your girlfriend trying to make this special for you,” Phoenix said.
“She’s not my girlfriend,” Jake said coldly and Phoenix nodded.
“Okay, well, Y/N wanted to do something special for you,” Phoenix corrected herself, “Since we probably won’t be able to celebrate on your actual birthday. . .” She opened the door to the Hard Deck and Jake’s eyes widened in surprise as his close friends all shouted ‘Happy Birthday’ as he walked in.
“Holy shit,” Jake smiled as he looked at the banner that hung from the rafters and the streams and balloons around the place, “This for me?”
“Yeah,” You said, taking a step forward, “You only turn thirty once!”
Jake just nodded at you, not saying a word and going to greet his friends. You clenched your jaw as you tried to pretend that that didn’t hurt. You turned to see Alyssa and Phoenix looking at you with sadness in your eyes, but you just shook it off. This night was about Jake and celebrating him, you were not about to make it about you. You pushed your feelings aside, and plastered a smile on your face as you walked over to where Stephanie and Coyote’s girlfriend were talking.
You weren’t sure how Jake managed to ignore you the whole night, but he had managed to do it. You were sitting at a table with Alyssa, Phoenix and Stephanie, hardly listening to a word they said and twirling your stray around in your iced tea as you watched Jake and his friends laugh around the pool table. You also noticed that there was a blonde girl who kept hanging around Jake the whole time. If you weren’t trying to just lay low and get through the night, you would have stormed over there and pulled her off of him. But instead, you swallowed down your jealousy feelings and stayed on the other side of the Hard Deck.
“I need to get some air,” You said, and stood up from the table. You thought your movement went unnoticed, as the Hard Deck was packed with people, but two sets of eyes followed your frame through the crowd and out the door.
“Bagman,” Coyote said, and Jake broke his eye contact, “Your move.”
The night air was cool and you could smell the salt water from the back deck. The moon was high in the sky, giving a very dim light. You thought about going to sit down by the water, but you weren’t sure if you would be able to get back up by yourself. So, you are stuck with standing and watching the waves crash.
“Are you okay?” A voice said from behind you. You looked over your shoulder to see your father.
“I’m fine,” You said and looked back to the ocean.
Iceman sighed, and walked towards you, leaning against the railing and looking out at the sea. He liked the ocean as much as you did. He was always thankful that he got to be stationed near the ocean during his career. He would probably go crazy if he lived in a landlocked state.
“You don’t have to tell a lie to protect him,” Iceman said, and you felt your throat start to get thick with tears, “I won’t take it out on him, I promise.”
You looked from the waves to your dad, your eyes wet with tears, “I messed up.”
“Oh, sweetheart,” Iceman said, and pulled you into his chest. You felt like you were a little kid again, crying on your dad’s shoulder after Gia had pushed you off your bike or Dylan ate the last cookie. Iceman rubbed your back as you cried, not saying anything but trying to calm your tears. Ice rested his chin on top of your head and just held you until you stopped crying.
Jake could see you in your father’s arms from his spot in the Hard Deck. It broke his heart to see you like this, and it was because of his own doing. He had too much pride in his body to go to you and apologize for how he has been acting. At first, he thought his actions were justified. That ignoring you for going behind his back and getting a DNA test done and finding out that you slept with Bradley while you were broken up was okay. But he had slowly been watching the light in your eyes diminish over the week. Doctor Miller was very concerned about you at your last check-up. She was in fact so concerned that she thought about sending you up to the L&D floor for monitoring, but you assured her that you were just fine and needed to go home to rest.
“I should’ve told you,” Bradley said, walking up to Jake. Jake was leaning on the farthest wall in the Hard Deck, several feet away from the crowd around the pool table. Coyote was trying to set up his shot for him and Payback. He bet Alyssa and Phoenix that they couldn’t beat them, and even threw some money in the game.
“It’s fine,” Jake said and took a sip of his coke. He wasn’t drinking, hasn’t been for weeks. Every time he came to the Hard Deck he would order a coke, or Bob’s favorite, a shirley temple.
“No, it’s not fine,” Bradley sighed and leaned against the wall next to Jake, “I never thought it could be mine. Ever. And I don’t think she did until your father said something. I honestly think she forgot we even slept together. We were so wasted that-”
“Is this supposed to make me feel better?” Jake asked, cutting him off, “Sorry. I just don’t want to hear about you and my ex-girlfriend.”
“I’m sorry,” Bradley said, and took a deep breath, “I don’t agree with her not telling you, I just think that this whole thing has blind sided her and she just never thought of it again. But at least she has done the right thing. She told you, and she found the truth. A truth she never doubted for a second, by the way.”
Jake nodded and then looked at Bradley, “You would’ve made a better father than me.”
Bradley scoffed, “Are you kidding? I don’t know the first thing about being a dad. Mine kicked the bucket before I was even out of pull-ups.”
Jake chuckled, “Yeah, but you had a mom who cared. You have that ‘feminine touch’ or whatever the fuck. I’m too. . . I’m gonna fuck this kid up somehow, I just know it. I sometimes wonder if I made the right choice in coming back to her life.”
Bradley furrowed his eyebrows, “You’re not going to walk, are you?” Jake hung his head in guilt and Bradley stood up straight, turning his body so he was square with Jake, “You are not going to walk out on her now, are you?”
“Maybe it’s for the-”
Bradley cut Jake off by delivering a punch to his jaw. Jake groaned and stumbled a bit, but he recovered quickly and glared at Bradley. He grabbed his wrist and pulled him outside of the Hard Deck, away from all the awestruck stares.
“What the fuck!?” Jake yelled, once they were outside.
“You are not going to walk out on them! How could you even think that!?”
“I don’t know!” Jake ran his hands through his hair, “I don’t know what to do! I’m fucked up, Bradley! I forgive her but I can't say it to her face. I don't stay when things like this happen. That’s my fucking thing, I’m the Hangman, I leave people hanging. This kid has a better chance without me in its life.”
“Then go,” Your voice was soft, but loud enough that Jake could hear it. He closed his eyes and turned around to see you standing there, your hands cradling your bump, “I know what I did was wrong, and I am so sorry, Jake. But if this is you preparing to leave without so much as an explanation. . . then do it. Go, Jake. You’re off the hook.”
“I don’t want to be,” Jake called out to you, “I don’t want to be off the hook. I don’t want to leave you either. Am I pissed about Bradshaw? Yeah, I am, but that’s not enough to send me running,” Jake walked up to you, and placed his hands on your belly, “I am not running. I am not leaving her. So please, Y/N. . . let me stay.”

Hangman Junior
Pairing - Jake 'Hangman' Seresin x daughter!reader
Word count - 2,212
Warnings - swearing, angst (it's me, what do you expect?), mentions of death, alcohol, mentions of Hangman having shitty parents
Summary - Before training begins for the uranium mission, Dagger Squad meets Hangman's teenage daughter. And she's a carbon copy of her father
A/N - another request lads! This was a fun one to explore and write! We all know I'm a sucker for Hangman so anything I get to write for him is fun! I'll stop rambling now but as per y'all, please send in requests, feedback and enjoy!!!
When those called back to Top Gun walked through the doors of the Hard Deck and saw Hangman leant against the pool table, chatting with Coyote their hearts sank slightly. Those who trained with Hangman knew how he flew and how he’d leave his wingmen behind in a heartbeat. Those who hadn’t just knew of his reputation to leave people behind but also that he’s one of the only naval aviators on active duty with a confirmed air-to-air kill which earned him a slither of their respect.
What all those naval aviators didn’t know, except for Coyote, was that Jake Seresin had a teenage daughter who was relying on him to come home every time he went away. He knew it was selfish of him, to leave others behind knowing they had loved ones too, but he needed to make it back to you every time because you had no other family.
He had always had a rocky relationship with his parents growing up, feeling pressured to be the ‘perfect’ son who would take over the family ranch when the Navy had always been his dream. He ended up getting a high school girlfriend pregnant halfway through their senior year which really tipped his parents over the edge. He was forced to move out and found a cheap apartment he could rent with his girlfriend so they could live somewhat comfortably until the baby was born. The day his daughter was born was the best day of his life, miles high above days like graduating from the academy or coming first in his class at Top Gun. However, one day, not long before Jake was due to head out to the naval academy for his basic training. He woke up to find his girlfriend gone, leaving behind nothing more than a note stating that she was sorry, that she didn’t want that kind of life and had left you in his care ever since.
“How’s the kid, Hangman?” Coyote asked as the two played pool and Hangman’s eyes flicked up to where the rest of the team were conversing amongst themselves, not listening to what Coyote said.
“She’s doing good. You can come over tomorrow if you want. I’m sure she’d be thrilled to see her favourite uncle is also in town.” Hangman says with a smirk as Coyote rolls his eyes jokingly. Since Hangman and Coyote had become friends when you were little, you had taken to calling Coyote your ‘Uncle Javy’ and it simply never dropped as you grew into your teens.
“I’m her only uncle she better be happy to see me.” Coyote responds, his tone teasing as he takes his next shot at the pool table. Coyote would never admit it to anyone, but he secretly loved that you considered him an uncle. It meant he was a trusted person in both your and Hangman’s lives. It also somewhat reassured Jake that there would be someone to look out for you if something were to happen to him. Just as Hangman went to reply to his friend, he caught a glimpse of a familiar Hawaiian shirt which brought a grin to his face.
“Bradshaw. As I live and breathe.” He calls out to the taller pilot, straightening up from where he’d been lining up his next shot.
“Hangman. You look… good.” Rooster replies, barely glancing Hangman’s way as he speaks. The two had a rivalry when they went through Top Gun together. Both were competitors for the top spot but had vastly different flying styles. Rooster was careful, he stuck to the book and would overthink what he was doing. Hangman was fast and would always strike first and ask questions later.
“I am good, Rooster. I am very good. In fact, I am too good to be true.” Hangman gloats as he approaches his rival. The two bicker back and forth before Jake decides to get himself another beer from the bar. He returns to the group of aviators and goes back to talking with Coyote. Eventually, the scattered groups all come together to ask if anyone knows who’s going to be training them for the missions considering every pilot who has been called back is the best of the best. They debated for a while before Coyote leaned close to Hangman’s ear.
“What’s y/n doing here?” He asks, making Hangman immediately scan the bar before he saw you approaching with a cheeky smile on your face. Hangman clenched his jaw slightly and moved to meet you in the middle.
“y/n, what are you doing here?” Hangman asked the second he reached you, trying not to let his annoyance show.
“Hello to you too, dad.” You say, rolling your eyes. Behind the two of you, the naval aviators heard you and started whispering amongst themselves, confused as to what the hell was going on.
“You can’t be in a bar. You’re too young.” Hangman scolds, staring down at you with a raised eyebrow.
“I can be in this bar. Penny said so.” You retort, folding your arms across your chest as you remember the day Penny first found out that Jake was a single father and said you were welcome to come in the bar as long as you stuck with your dad and didn’t cause trouble.
“You’re a pain in my ass. You know that, right?” Hangman laughs as he shakes his head.
“Yet you still love me.” You grin, moving to walk past your dad when you notice Coyote.
“That I do.” He mutters to himself when you reach Coyote, allowing him to pull you into a hug as your dad watches on with a soft smile before moving to join the two of you.
“Hey y/n/n.” Coyote greets you happily as he releases you from the hug.
“Hi, Uncle Javy.” You reply with a smile as you step back.
“Dad? Uncle Javy? Is anyone going to explain this to us?” You turn around to see a man with a moustache in a Hawaiian shirt glancing between the three of you with a confused expression.
“Was the fact I’m calling him dad not obvious enough for you, Rooster?” You retort, watching Rooster’s face shift to a face of shock while your dad bites back a laugh beside you.
“How did you-”
“Dad could never stop talking about you when the two of you were in Top Gun. He was even talking about the chances of seeing you before he left the house earlier. It’s also easy to put a face to the name when dad’s mentioned things like you always wearing Hawaiian shirts.” You shrug after finishing your explanation. You hear Coyote snigger beside you which makes you smile.
“Oh, she’s definitely Hangman’s kid.” You look over at the brown-haired woman who said that, and you nod proudly.
“That I am.” You say as your dad wraps an arm around your shoulders and tugs you into his side.
“And with that, let’s stop bothering my kid.” Hangman says, a glimmer of protectiveness rising within him. He glances between his new teammates and sees that they’re itching to ask questions.
“y/n, why don’t you head on home?” He asks you, looking down at you.
“No. I’m happy to hang out here. It’s kind of depressing sitting alone in an empty house.” You say, making Hangman’s face soften. The team watched curiously, having never seen any softness come from this man before. They could only assume this was Jake Seresin and not Hangman. He was your dad before he was Hangman so his priorities would always be you.
“Okay fine. But you’re to always stay in mine or Javy’s line of sight. Got it?” He says, a slight sternness sneaking into his tone.
“You got it, dad.” You reply, earning a nod from your dad as he returns to his pool game while you find somewhere nearby to sit. You were quickly approached by some of your dads’ new teammates, all gagging to know more about you and your dad. You listened to all their questions and gave them answers. You had to admit that these new teammates were nice, and they seemed like people you could trust to make sure your dad came home during this secret mission. Even Rooster seemed like a nice enough guy despite your dad doing nothing but bitch about him when they went through Top Gun. You enjoyed getting to know his teammates, and they could keep up with your sass quite easily, with Phoenix saying you were a nicer version of Hangman.
“I’m calling it now. y/n is now a part of our team from here on out.” Fanboy says, slinging an arm around your shoulder and jostling you as you laugh.
“Guys, can you promise me something?” You say once the laughter dies down. The mood suddenly becoming serious at your words.
“What is it?” Bob asks, placing his cup down on the table as all eyes are on you. You glance over at where your dad and Javy are still playing pool, chatting to each other happily.
“Promise me that you’ll make sure my dad comes home. Uncle Javy too. They’re the only family I have, and I can’t lose them.” You admit, eyes lowering to stare at the floor of the Hard Deck. The naval aviators exchange looks with each other. They had all only known Hangman, the cocky naval aviator who would ditch his wingmen in a heartbeat and they weren’t keen on that. But now they had met you and discovered a new side of him that they had never seen before, and they were all willing to make this work with him for your sake. But they also knew they couldn’t make a promise like that. With a mission so secret that they hadn’t even been given the brief for yet was only flashing warning signs to them about how dangerous this mission could be.
“We promise we’ll do our best to bring them home to you.” Rooster was the first to speak up. He knew the pain of losing a parent and he’d be damned if he let you go through the same thing. He was more than willing to put his rivalry with Hangman to the side for you. He could only hope that Hangman would extend the same courtesy to him. You shifted your gaze to Rooster as he spoke, a small appreciative smile on your face at his words. You knew it was a big ask but you decided it was worth the risk.
“Thank you, Rooster. You know, you’re not as bad as dad made you out to be.” You say, your smile growing when Rooster rolls his eyes at your words.
“And you’re not as bad as I thought you’d be Hangman junior.” He replies, making you scoff jokingly, easing the tension that had just been created. You continue to chat with the team, laughing as your dad, Javy and Payback chucked some random guy out of the bar when the bell rang, even joining in when Rooster began to play ‘Great Balls of Fire’. As it began to get later, your dad approached where you were sitting and rested a hand on your shoulder.
“Come on y/n/n. We should think about heading home. You’ve got school and I’ve got an early start tomorrow.” Your dad says, making you groan but still get to your feet, bidding everyone goodbye before following your dad out to his truck.
“I like your team. They seem nice.” You say with a smile as you get settled in your seat, plugging in your seatbelt.
“Even Bradshaw?” Jake replies with a raised eyebrow as he starts the engine.
“Yes, even Rooster. They’re much nicer than your last team. Those guys were dickheads.”
“Hey, what have I been saying about language?” You roll your eyes at the light scolding, uttering a quiet and insincere apology as you settle back in your seat as you begin the journey back to your house.
Back in the Hard Deck, the team had watched both you and Hangman leave the bar and the second they saw the two of you leave their line of sight they fell into discussions once more about how they couldn’t believe Hangman had a daughter, except Coyote who just watched and laughed.
“Guess we’re all watching out for Hangman on this mission then, huh?” Payback says, leaning back in his chair as he sips from his beer bottle.
“For the kid's sake.” Rooster swoops in quickly, drawing the line about why they were doing this in the first place.
“Oh, sure Rooster. I bet this has nothing to do with the obvious crush you have on Hangman.” Coyote teases, making Rooster’s face flush deep red as he scrambles to deny the blatantly obvious fact that was just stated as everyone laughs.
None of the team could have anticipated that they were going to end today knowing that Hangman is a father and that the whole team would now go to the ends of the earth to protect his daughter despite her being a carbon copy of her dad. All they could do now was accept the fact and do what they could to watch out for the Seresin father and daughter duo.

Headcanon that Ciphixy were on their wedding anniversary touring the Usean countryside when the Lighthouse War happened, and they just ignored it & went on. They happened to be at the locations of several missions that trigger was in, casually sightseeing as the fighting happened above their heads.
Also, I usually dislike the little detail that Pixy is Belkan because Come On, not all the bad guys need to be Belkans, but I will make an exception & tolerate it if only to headcanon that Pixy dresses like that guy making funny stereotypical German videos (going on “just a small walk” through the Waldreich mountains that lasted 10 hours is something Pixy has totally done)
Cipher on the other hand,,, life is a runway and the planes are just accessories
(Hc that Phoenix would exclusively sortie with Hawaiian shirts)
