The most tragic thing about the "Minho new Newt longer" thing is that actually. They all new eachother for a long ass time. Like yeah, Newt and Minho knew eachother like a year or two in like fever code before they met like Thomas, Teresa (DeeDee), and Chuck. BUT. They all were well acquainted friends who genuinely cared a lot about eachother. AND there bonds go deeper than they realise. And it always makes me sad everytime.

Also fever code Thomas and Newt were like so close. Which makes it evermore tragic is that they BOTH never know this shit ugh fuck me. I mean I think Newt gets a few memories back in crank palace, but idk a lot about that cause I haven't read it.

Damn. Now I have to ramble about my fever code and fever code/the maze runner opinions one of this days. Fever code fucked me up. MORE THAN DEATH CURE AND IT'S FUCKING LESS DEATH.

Most people should be stressing out but honestly I'm just relieved that I'll have time to draw on Thursday and Friday lol

really not a fan of how "not everyone learns the same way and it's unrealistic to expect readings and lecture to be effective across the board" has morphed into "if you're not a visual learner you're doing it wrong"

obviously visuals are incredibly helpful for some people but i learn most effectively by translating a concept into my own words and explaining it back to myself, so most of my study & review is just in writing and having that be penalized when it's a tried and true system that works for my brain is incredibly frustrating!

#i RARELY draw pictures to illustrate concepts when i'm studying a topic #and i have a prof this term who has us make graded review sheets before exams #and she keeps docking me points for having too many words and not enough pictures #last time i checked a review sheet was for MY learning to review material in a way that helps ME but ok go off i guess

suddenly I have realized my bad habit of procrastinating has become a nearly debilitating fear

#Like #for ex I had an exam due today #I meant to study for it over the week #But every time I sat down to do so I just got really scared and stressed and felt like I wasn’t going to be able to study enough???#And so I couldn’t concentrate and did literally anything else instead and it ruined my entire week bc I was so worried #And anyways I ended up actually studying for the exam for only around 3 hours. TODAY. And took it and sent it in just before midnight.#Which is a very bad habit that I have #I’m pretty sure I did well tho #bc despite the fact I was so worried I wasn’t ready for it that I didn’t GET ready for it #I do actually know the material pretty well #And now I’m sitting here with the knowledge that if I’d sat and just studied even ONE other time this week #I could easily have gotten a 100 #And now I’m realizing that I may have anxiety #Which I knew before but like. Now I KNOW #And also a really bad case of I Need To Be Perfect Or The World Will End And Everyone Will Hate Me #also the adhd isn’t helping #So yeah #That’s something that happened #I tend to put things off bc “im not ready” for them in general now that I think abt it. #for context: practical exam is 47 reactions you have to know by heart #and by 'reactions' I mean 'multi step diagnostics methods'#and we're coming right off of a module control which had the equivalent of exam materials of information and left everyone exhausted #I had three separate mental breakdowns last night trying to study because my nervous system was exhausted and the words just didn't. fit.#i know the first twenty well and some of the later ones but that's not nearly enough and we're taking it with our prof which is worse than #the rest of them (other groups get help because stressed med students+ anthrax is not a good combo) and we won't #finals #pre finals #i wanna die #med student #medical school #med school shenanigans

if you guys were wondering how sacrificing sleep and free time and hobbies for the past three weeks to study for a tough exam went: i memorized all of the material, aced the study guide, and then failed the test so badly that i don't think i can save my grade no matter how high i score in the remaining ten weeks of the class
