I hate when you feel like shit but are still expected to fulfil (non compulsory) religious obligations but when you try to be like 'hey please not today I feel like shit' the only answer you get is. 'well this stuff Is supposed to relax you and make you feel better/at peace so do it anyway' so all you can do is bite your tongue 'cause if you even so much as implied that doing them dosnt actually make you feel better and not everyone is the same and you can't force someone to find peace in something you'd basically be outing yourself.

i am happy that im finding my faith and not afraid of god anymore. yet i feel guilty somehow. like i have abandoned my apostate siblings. rationally i know even when i was most staunchly atheist, i still supported my friends who found religion comforting. rationally i know im not doing anything wrong by finding what makes me happy. but i don't want to leave that part of me behind. part of me is always going to be an ex-catholic who is scared and small and terrified of god. im learning how to make that part of me feel safe and loved. how to teach them that it is okay. but it is so hard.

i am religious, but i still feel i am an apostate. it's still part of me. it's still important to me. i learned how to love myself like that, how to love others and how to understand the world. i am muslim but i'm still an ex-catholic. it doesn't go away.

i hope that's okay.

I left Islam too. There are many things I hate about institutional religion also present in Islam, and it’s important to talk about our experiences in leaving it.

But we must take care not to attack muslims: most of them are just regular people who, like most of the world, are born and die in the religion their family happened to follow.

Islam, like Christianity and other religions, has a host of serious problems. So criticize the religion. Do not immediately attack the people who happen to follow it! There is a difference in dynamic too - Christians are a majority but Muslims are a marginalized minority. Don’t punch down when you criticize harmful institutions.

i identified as "trans/nonbinary" for years before reclaiming my womanhood, and i'm so happy i did (it's never too late). there's no "right" or "wrong" way to be a woman. i was a huge trans activist for years before realizing it doesn't and will never benefit me despite their lies. i don't argue with tras—go kick rocks and debate with the mirror, loser.

i post free pdfs, resources, graphics, and everything else of the sort on this blog. feel free to explore and read—it's not illegal despite what you've been made to think (#useful).

any designs i create and post on this blog are entirely free for personal and commercial use. i don't want or require credit—do whatever your heart desires with them (create pins, t-shirts, print them out, sell them, anything!! idc!) (#my designs).

though i do have some hashtags i regularly use to keep things somewhat organized, in general, i don't use tags a lot, if ever.

my blog is open to any and all women, even the trans-identified ones. you are all welcome here and i love you (in other terms, my blog is open to all "afabs," even "transmen" and those who are "nonbinary"). if you're on the fence or reconsidering things, you're safe here, i promise.

also, i don't live in america, so my perspective might be different from what you're used to.

it sometimes takes me a while to reply (i.e. days, weeks...) to my messages because my life can get busy at times, but rest assured i will get back to you, and love chatting!! (i sometimes also just come on here to feverishly reblog but don't have the energy to converse, i hope you understand). i don't always reply to every reply on my posts because sometimes there's nothing else left to say! you've summed it up perfectly! but i LOVE reading all replies!!!

my messages are only on for mutuals, and asks are completely off. sometimes i'll turn on asks for an hour or two before turning them back off. on that note, any of my beloved regular anonitas i had, i implore thee to make side accounts so we can chat because i really miss you all, though my asks aren't coming back full time any time soon.

there are more trans activists/trans people turned radfems than there are radfems turned trans activists/trans people—think about why that is.

you're not the only one who thinks these thoughts, i promise you there are SO many women who think the same as you. you just haven't found them yet, or they're in hiding.

A Vancouver-area Jewish organization is raising safety concerns amid reports Hamas has called for a day of action on Friday amid the escalating conflict in Israel and Palestine.

In a community security update posted to its website, the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver said it was taking the reports “very seriously.”

“Our understanding is that Hamas is calling for violence in Israel, the West Bank, and around the world under the guise of showing solidarity with Palestinians,” the organization wrote.

The bulletin came after former Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal called for protests across the Muslim world in support of Palestinians.

All of these are really good points but it's also at least partially bc on Tumblr at least the term originated on jumblr. Like Jewish people were describing our experiences and people freaked the fuck out bc of their precious quismas and the fact that really they do believe in Christian concepts, with Jesus just filed off - their group is the morally righteous one, everyone else needs to convert to their way of thinking, and Jews are evil. Obviously.

Re: “culturally Christian” as a label for people.

Why not just say “goyim?” And if someone has an opinion rooted in Xianity, say “this opinion is rooted in Crain propaganda/mythology, historically”.

It solves the problems of the American centrism of the term, still deals with the issue of “the people this term applies to don’t deal with antisemitism as an axis of oppression,” does not immediately trigger people (or well, doesn’t trigger people who aren’t already a stones throw from being neo Nazis rather than just religious trauma survivors anyway) and doesn’t have the issue of demanding people who are already rejecting one religious framework of who they are accept your religion’s framework.

because “goyim” isn’t a synonym for “people who were raised christian or perpetuate christonormativity” or “people who don’t deal with antisemitism.” there are a lot of goyim who are not culturally christian, especially who don’t live in the west, and there are a lot of people who do deal with antisemitism who are culturally christian. to say that cultural christianity is “american centric” is to admit that you think christian hegemony and cultural christianity only exist and affect people in the us, which is very much not true.

and i’m gonna be honest, i think y’all’s fixation on semantics is rooted in reluctance to address what we’re actually talking about. you can say it’s about your trauma all you want (as if the people trying to have this conversation aren’t also traumatized both on a personal and communal/cultural level), but i’ve said over and over that your trauma isn’t your fault, it’s your responsibility. but you don’t want that responsibility, so i’ll be setting another boundary in that i will no longer be bickering with people about these semantics. future anons like this will be deleted. i do not have the time or energy for this.

So Allah created men polygamous with a polygamous nature, and also catered to that need by, you know, you can have 4 different wives if you want to.

Interesting how Allah has also created some people to be gay or with the nature to be gay but they have to repress and deny those aspects of them, whereas god has catered to straight man to allow them up to 4 differet wives because of the nature that he also created them as.

you see how that dosnt add up? how god can cater to one nature whilst disregarding the rest. I think people forget that god being the infinite energy has never written any book, god has not written the bible; god has not written the Quran, god has not written the Torah, nothing. People have -excume me- men have, and im not saying those books have no knowledge and wisdom in them, those books have alot of wisdom, but men wrote those books; Which makes sence for all the inconsistencies god because we're inperfect beings trying to create a perfect that there is.

I just find it interesting how Abrahamic religions act like they have god all figured out, 'this is who god is', 'this is what god allows', 'this is-' god is an infinite energy, how do you have god all figured out? That is what i find interesting"
