Idk why I named that. This is an old draft- Legit how Starcross and Lily became friends (in palette never exist au)

This take place where Starcross is 8 and Lily is 10

"Sissy, I heard the king of darkness has a daughter around my age. Can I play with her?" Asked Starcross.

"Uh... Starcross, the little girl is not someone you should get along." Said Lux. "beside, I want you to stay away from those family."

Starcross does not understand why his family forbid him to interact with the darkness Royal family. The servants always talk about them so Starcross is very curious.

One day, Starcross sneaked out from the castle. He is bored playing in the garden so he like to visit the forest.

Just as he entered the forest, he smells animal bloods and even the trace dried blood. He feel no fear so he follow the trace of bloods.

It lead him to a girl with black hair. The one who killed the animal... Seems like she killed a cat.

"... Hi?" Starcross greet her.

Lily turned around, she startled a bit to see someone who is brave enough to walk towards her. It amuse her.

"Oh... Hello." Lily smiles. "Are you not afraid of me? I just killed this unfortunate cat..."

"Oh... Well animal have short life anyway." answered Starcross. "And you are very pretty so why should I be afraid of you?" Starcross smiles at Lily as he hold her hand. "My name is Starcross, how about you?"

"...?" Lily does not understand why would Starcross even hold her hand. "My name is Lily... You are also very pretty, I like your hair. Can I have it?" Asked Lily.

"Oh, why would you want my hair? If anything, I want your hair! Black hair are rare and this is my first time seeing one." Claimed Starcross.

"Rare...?" Lily is quite surprised. "Really... But blonde hair are rare and very shiny..." Said Lily as she touch Starcross hair.

"Oh come on, if you were in my place, you will see too many shiny things. It's blinding my eyes...- your hair colour is a warm sight to see." Starcross smiles at Lily. "you seems to like shiny stuff, how about you be my friend and I will bring you shiny jewels everyday!"

"Hmm... I already have a crystals mine..." Lily is not impressed. "How about you give me your eyes and we can be friends..."

"Awe, you're so silly!" Starcross chuckles. "How about I bring beautiful person to you every week. Doesn't that sounds nice?"

"beautiful person... ... I like it. You are my friend now." Lily let out a smile. "You said your place is full of shiny stuffs right? Can we go play there...?" asked Lily.

"Of course! You're my friend now. Let's go!"

I imagine that when he was still young, nobody knew why Pure Vanilla Cookie always kept doing that eerie laugh, one that shows signs of sinister intentions... Even he, himself, didn't know why until much later...

Since he becomes Shadow Milk Cookie 2.0, I felt his name would be Wilted Vanilla Cookie!

also i think harry potter is a more interesting character when you allow james to be extremely morally grey. imo this is more reflective of canon: he was a bully. he was blindly privileged. he harassed lily and treated it like a joke. and no matter what, he's still a man who wanted to marry "the brightest witch of her age" and saw absolutely nothing wrong with making her his jobless prospectless pregnant housewife at 19 years old! that's entitlement!

like in doing this, james technically carried on centuries of misogynist conservative pureblood tradition (marrying women off to be teenaged childbrides) without another thought. this is the environment in which he was raised. and he told himself it was ok and progressive because he, like, wasn't racist to her for being muggleborn and genuinely loved her as a person, or whatever. but that's the bare minimum! and it shows that he had no qualms with participating in pureblood culture & tradition when it suited him, because he literally materially did. a better james potter would never have been comfortable with letting her take on that role.

and the series themes are more resonant when harry's parents aren't both just, like, nebulously ontologically good. it's really poignant when harry spends his entire life being taught to idolize a man who was, in actuality, kind of a piece of shit— and grapples with this as he grows up, ultimately choosing to be different. the lesson is that both good (and cruelty) can come from anyone, regardless of birth circumstances or house placement, because goodness is a choice.

CONTENT WARNING : Body Horror? If living puppets count then yeah.

You know, waking up in a theater may not be the oddest or freakiest thing ever, but that depends on context. And the with the prior context that you were chasing the huge, beast side of a cookie that is known to sometimes host gruesome puppet shows... Pure Vanilla Cookie couldn't help but be concerned. " Pure Vanilla Cookie?" He heard White Lily speak up from the seat next to him, she looked concerned and confused as to where she was. He was as well, but where were the others? " Welcome! new holders of the soul jam!" A voice crackled from around them, belonging to none other than the beast. " Welcome one and all to the Shadow Theater! We have a wonderful play for you all tonight!" They knew it wouldn't be a wonderful show, but they couldn't withhold their gasps of horror when the stage curtains were drawn open. Upon the stage were three cookies, Gingerbrave, Strawberry Cookie and Wizard Cookie, but there was something distinctly wrong with them. They seemed conscious, panicked. It was very understandable as to why they were however. Yet they couldn't open their mouths and scream. Impaled in their hands and feet were spikes connected to strings that tailed up into the rafters of the stage. The two ancients could smell and see the strawberry jam leaking from their puncture wounds. Their mouths, at least, were magically sealed. The look of fear in the trio of children's eyes was enough to strike panic and horror within the two ancients. Yet neither of them could leave their seats to help. " Here we have three, small, fragile little cookies. I'm sure that you two care about them a bunch, yes?" The beast said with a chuckle. The strings on Strawberry Cookie pulled taut, and the ancients could only watch as she was forced to pull out her lollipop hammer and turn towards Wizard Cookie. " So, theoretically... You'd be rather heartbroken if you watched them smash each other into pieces." " No!" Pure Vanilla yelled, extending a hand and reaching forwards in his seat to try and stop what was going to happen. The Lollipop hammer was swung down, the lights cutting out as a sickening crack filled the theater. The lights turn back on, revealing that Strawberry Cookie had hit a jar of Sweet Jelly Jam instead of Wizard Cookie's head. The pink clad cookie was crying, all three of them still looked terrified. " But, it's far too early in the show for a character death, especially a main character death." The beast tutted, " So, here's the deal. If you re-unite me with my other, much more pathetic half, then I'll let these three go! Easy-peasy! But if you refuse... Well, then little Strawberry is gonna get an encore! And this time... She'll be hitting her target." The Beast cackled in a sickening manner after he finished speaking, and a snap of fingers rang out through the theater. The Ancients watched in horror as they collapsed to the ground, the theater around them fading away as the trio looked to them with pleading expressions. They felt the forest floors of Beast Yeast below them once more, but what could they do? Gingerbrave and his friends were in danger, bad, bad danger. And yet they couldn't hand over Shadow Milk's good half, who knows what the Beast would do to the guy if he goes back? So then... what were they supposed to do? ... They should probably contact Reader Cookie before anything.
