I don't know if this is as interesting as I think it is, but what shenanigans would ensue if Albert and Jordan randomly switched bodies for a day? Liu Xiao is implying much more with this line than he is letting on, of course, and a lot of it goes over Xia Fei's head. Everyone is keeping secrets from each other, and some, like Lu Guang's, are about to have deadly consequences.

But the way Xia Fei reacts here is not with curiosity or suspicion. It's with guilt. He clearly feels this statement is directed at him.

You could say it's about his spying on his alleged new friends. This whole scene is spurred by his guilt over this - he wants to stop. He won't spy on people who call him friend (oh sweetie, I'm so sorry).

He's already said his part though. And when Liu Xiao says this line, Xia Fei just looks even guiltier.

The above capture from ed Lull shows Xia Fei trying to block out the light that is blinding him, a reference, no doubt, to the cameras that always surround him, and a nod to several lines from his character song, Renting a Shell/Body. But when his hand settles, it is over his mouth, typically reminiscent of someone who is omitting truth.

His spying, yes. But there's also the way he never lets on that he clearly knows something about the Bahati incident and Cheng Weimin. His reaction to Cheng Xiaoshi's question, the kid who looks astonishingly like a younger him at Bahati. "It doesn't matter if the great fire extinguishes the truth". Always faking a smile.

I suspect there may be some other aspect to Xia Fei's "true colours" that make him feel guilty here. A reason for him to question if they could still be friends if they ever found out.

Morgoth has apparently decided that the very best - and only - time for big attacks is during parties. The Valar had a big party when he destroyed the lamps while they were busy celebrating, then the Valar had again a big party with the Elves when the trees came down, and Gondolin of course was attacked during the Gates of Summer. I wonder if it maybe was Fingolfin's birthday party during the battle of sudden flame.
