You gotta read and watch some old books and films that aren’t 100% modern politically correct. I’m not saying you should agree with everything in them but you need to learn where genres came from to understand what those genres are doing today and where media deconstructing old tropes is coming from.

Also, more often than you might think, they’re not actually promoting bigotry so much as ��didn’t consider all the implications of something” or just used words that were polite then but considered offensive now.

Kill the censor in your head.

#the redwall glorifying site can sure be squeamish about books with no more problematic premises #if you’re asking what’s wrong with redwall it’s the good/evil species essentialism and the one book that doubles down on it #but like you still read it if you want to write animals having cozy adventures so you’re not ignorant of half your own genre

Now I will yap about evil cipher parents AU 😈

This is my version of Scalene and Euclid

I was heavily inspired by @nyanaknifegal designs

(Those are canon in my head, they are incredible and I adore flat versions sm 💕)

So what happened after da baby was kidnapped

Cipher parents were devastated that their little precious child was no longer with them

Fellow euclidians didn’t believe that a baby could just disappear into thin air, thinking poor parents went crazy

After being written off as insane by their own people

Ciphers started the search mission on their own

by purposefully a l t e r i n g t h e i r e y e s

By attempting to do something that no euclidian done before

Euclid Cipher lost his eyes

Scalene, however, was luckier in her attempt

The victory costed her just one

After that

Well

No one could hold their rage back

Also to specify, no they did not see Ford and Dipper when they kidnapped the smol dorito child, maaaaybe Scalene saw a glimpse of Ford’s hand

I headcanon that they found out who kidnapped their kid after they successfully mutated

Thinking about how (a humanoid) Bill would see Ford be older after those 30 years (because that’s how people work), and so to try and appeal to him again, he makes himself look older too (I mean, he’s WAYYYY older than Ford actually, but I just mean visually)

But then after he’s killed and sent to the Theraprism, he goes back to his original twink look, and I say this because I already did a drawing of my humanoid Bill in prison and I like how that design worked with his pathetic traumatized orange jumpsuit look more than I think I would like it with an older looking version 😁 plus uhh I don’t wanna deem that drawing “not canon” to my brain so yeah
