The Oscars.

Ahh, The Oscars. It's the most magical night, unless you're Hugh Grant, and the awards season done and dusted for another year. The gowns are back in wardrobes, the suits back with their tailors, and the little shiny golden man trophies away in cabinets, stored away to gather dust. But it was a rather special way to go out with one of the most diverse #oscars in recent memory—particularly for Asian and Asian American representation. And it was, of course, a very big night for Everything Everywhere All at Once with a *massive* motherflippin seven awards, including best actress for the mighty Michelle Yeoh. She becomes only the second woman of color to win the award after Halle Berry back in 2002. “For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight this is a beacon of hope and possibility,” she said, before adding: “Ladies, don’t ever let anyone tell you you are past your prime.” 

It was quite a night and a memorable #oscars that celebrated diversity, and not slapping people in the face onstage. Naturally, Tumblr paid its very own paid tribute with an array of shitposts, memes, and gifs in honor of award season's special night.

the bagel as a metaphor for emptiness is very interesting to me because bagels don’t have holes

okay, yes they do, they have an empty space in the middle. i know that. but unlike donuts, which have the middle removed, bagels are created round. they’re shaped that way. there was never any middle missing to begin with. there’s no Absence of a Thing, which is broadly what a hole defines

so in the context of media having holes and bagels it’s… interesting. i like it a lot of eeaao i think it makes the metaphor even more prominent. a hole that isn’t a hole. a perceived emptiness defined by the matter around it

I made some earrings!!

I made The Professor from hit Web Series™ Puppet History by Watcher for a friend

I had a ton of googly eyes leftover from when I made my own Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (INCREDIBLE FILM I cried and I love it do much) , so I also made EEAAO earrings! The rocks are literal pebbles (I'm also thinking of eventually making myself some Marcel earrings.... I have so many leftover shells too, I'd just have to find what to make the shoes out of)
