I'm not an extrovert. At all. In everyday life, I'm a yapper, sure, but I need someone to first assure me I am okay to yap, so I don't start conversations, even when I really want to join in sometimes! It's just the social anxiety acting up. God knows where from and why I lose a lot of my inhibitions when it comes to talking to people about music. I don't know where the confidence has suddenly sprung from. I've made a crazy amount of friends in musical circles, either just talking to people about common music or (since it is after all in music circles) talking to bands about their own music. I let out a sigh of relief any time an interaction goes well, because in truth it's going against my every instinct. I wish I could do that in everyday life

Hey Bitches, I'm currently finishing up my English Degree with a minor in professional and technical writing for college and starting the dreaded process of job hunting. My professors have told me that an English Degree is basically a Jack of all trades degree because I can "pretty much get whatever I want" but I feel so lost about what to do because I have very little work experience, and as much as it sounds enticing, I do not want to sell my soul to the military. A communications professional can work in ANY field because EVERYONE needs someone who can communicate effectively. So I'd do 2 things to get started on your job search:

Look for job descriptions that contain some variation on the phrase "communications skills." Lots of companies even have internal communications departments! Check out these jobs, and ask about informational interviews to find out more about what they entail.

Determine your interests outside of the English language. Do you think science is neat? Do you care about sports? Do you have an interest in immigration law? Narrow down to subjects and fields you might be interested in and then find the writing and communications jobs within those fields.

for their sake, they need everything in front of them to always be organized and tidy (whether its the library registry counter or their desk at home or school). if its not neat, they wouldn’t be upset, they’d be more than happy to clean it up again! it also why theyre always helping out the initiates clean the bunks and the garden. they love cleaning up, love the sense of accomplishment it brings, love the feeling of being in control of something.

this is also the same reason why their so studious and even a little obsessive over their grades in school. they dont notice it, but its all about control over things they cant control. they love the sense of accomplishment of having good grades brings for themself, and they love the praise it brings from sirris and jordan.

speaking of praise ehehe theres no they wouldnt have a praise kink. im pretty sure sydney has the biggest praise kink in all of doltown and thats saying something ! the praise from their family and teachers is great and all, but what really gets them going is praise from pc. its so easy to give them a mind numbing orgasm just say the bare minimum praise and they’ll melt instantaneously.

harbors alot of resentment towards the temple and its members (exculding sydney and pc if theyre involved). they know that they had something to do with his parents, and knows that theyre being avoided by temple members. kylar hates them so much but doesnt care enough about themself to do anything drastic towards them.

kylar has completely given up on trying to improve their situation in any way. they gave up a long time ago. i like to think in the beginning, after the initial shock and dread mostly wore off, they did try to find something, any clue that would lead to a semi acceptable answer but they quickly gave up and abandoned all hope.

i said it in another post this is why they latch onto pc so intensely, they literally have nothing else going for them anymore.

even in their least jealous state, kylar has become so warped by being shunned by everyone and loneliness that they dont have the self awareness to realize what their doing is wrong. theyre so manic with finally being able to feel alive again and finally having someone else that they theres no room for any reluctance or hesitancy. their not letting pc leave them alone again, not ever.

despite their small stature kylar is very athletically capable. not in tests of strength but in stamina, they cant beat whitney in a fight but they could totally run faster than them.

probably canon again but kylar excels at science because not only is it their favorite subject but because their parents had really sciency careers and encouraged them alot as a child.

even though kylar is a pervert creep theyre still really capable sexually? what i mean by this is that even though kylar seems like the kind of person who got all of their sexual knowledge from porn and anime doujinshi’s they still know how to make their partner finish. thats because they didnt get it from porn, they learned it from medical science. dont ask me how i can just feel it

"But I know the risks!" You can't possibly know the risks because Red doesn't know either or "kinda knows" but has not properly informed his audience, it didnt give sources, oversimplified their advice and failed to provide accurate information about risk. Or gave plain misinformation.

Again I'm not transid, I can't possibly imagine what you're going through in order to try anything at all to feel better, including trying experimental surgery not legally available or not researched at all. There's a limit to how tan you may get! Are you seriously gonna risk skin cancer for an impossible thing???

I do not support such operation and you can still die or get horribly sick even with your best precautions, but you better receive actual medical attention and stay alive rather than trying to heal it yourself. Because what you'll most likely get from following Red's advice is DEATH FROM BLOOD LOSS. Again, if you absolutely cannot get rid of this dysphoria with therapy, or manage it at least, or have a doctor do it for you, I still would NEVER suggest you do it yourself, but IF you end up doing that then at least please go straight to the hospital instead of trying to heal it yourself.

Red: Well, a simple fix to your problem is just get some calcium hydroxide in your eye and wash it out a few minutes later, this should lead to permanent, extreme (but not total) vision loss in that eye. Keep it in too long and it can cause total vision loss so be careful!

Ok so, it's great that you're trying to come up with alternative ways for users not to kill themselves by gouging their eyes out, but you've still failed to give them the full picture

From a quick search "calcium hydroxide in the eyes": Exposure to the skin can produce burns, painful irritation and necrosis, and exposure to the eyes may cause severe pain and vision loss that can be temporary or permanent. If calcium hydroxide is exposed to the skin, contaminated clothing should be removed, excess amounts of the chemical should be wiped off and the affected skin should be flushed repeatedly with water. Victims of calcium hydroxide exposure to the eyes should flush their eyes with water continuously for the first 15 minutes, but all cases of external exposure should receive immediate medical care. Inhaling calcium hydroxide through the nose or mouth can also cause immediate, painful and potentially life-threatening complications. Throat and nasal passages may become painful and swollen, and the swelling may restrict airways, making breathing difficult or impossible. If the calcium hydroxide particles are carried all the way to the lungs, this may further complicate breathing. Victims of this type of exposure should be taken immediately to a fresh air environment, and emergency services should be contacted right away. Rocker Bakugo who everyone labels as cocky but you simply say arrogant. There's videos that have gone viral of you correcting people during interviews saying he's only like this because he knows what he can do. This is how you gain your popularity as his manager.

"Because you made me right, you made me want I am now." He's snarling at your back, you're only a couple steps away from the door.

I started wondering about the types of things Eddie Munson would study in college and it turned into this. Not edited and a little stream of consciousness blurb. Enjoy how sweet our boy is here.

When he finally graduates from Hawkins High, Wayne encourages him to do something after high school. “You don’t have to go to school, but you gotta find somethin’. Everyone’s gotta have something to be good at, Ed.”

So, he enrolls in the local community college and takes a little bit of everything. Just to get his feet wet. He figured he’d end up majoring in auto tech or going the trade route — but it’s the social sciences that surprisingly grab him.

His "Intro to Sociology" class has a service learning portion that requires him to volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club. At first, he’s not happy (hadn’t he just gotten past babysitting when he left Hawkins High?), but he quickly warms up to the idea when he spends time with the kids. They’re from rough backgrounds, like him. Some are in foster care and some live with relatives or are surfing couches. But all of them flock to Eddie, because he’s cool, he’s fun, he’s goofy, and he doesn’t treat them like they’re broken.

And after talking with one of his professors about other classes that might allow him to keep working with kids, his professor suggests majoring in social work. He's skeptical. Him? A social worker? He never pictured himself as a 9-5, dockers and button ups kind of guy. But his professor tells him to just try it, that he'd be great at it, and how rewarding it is.

So, Eddie surprises himself by graduating on time with an undergraduate degree in social work. He's even more surprised when he's offered a graduate assistantship to finish his master's -- something he'll need to get any sort of good paying job in the field.

Before he knows it, he's a licensed social worker in the state of Indiana. He immediately finds a job working in the local school system with kids that come to school with unwashed clothes, empty bellies, and days of sleep clouding their eyes. They're kids that remind him a little too much of himself from years ago.

This time, he's the adult staring at the scrawny kid who'd been caught stealing money from a teacher's desk so that he could buy his first meal in two days. But instead of belittling the kid, or embarrassing him, or looking down at him with that mixed glare of pity and disgust that Eddie had been so privy to in his younger days, he's reaching into the cabinet next to them in his office to grab a grocery sack full of various snacks and non-perishables. He's handing it to the boy in front of him as he tells him about an equally scrawny kid who used to steal whatever he could stuff into his jacket from Melvald's, whose dad taught him to hotwire instead of how to catch a ball, whose future could have been drastically different had his uncle not pushed him to be the man he is today.

When the kid leaves a half hour later with a trace of an upturned smile and a sweetly awkward fist bump, Eddie remembers why he does this. As he starts the paperwork for food assistance and begins dialing the boy's number to check in the with the family, to offer to help in any way he can, he thinks of himself at 20 -- a three time senior and social pariah who sold drugs to Hawkin's finest to help keep the trailer warm -- and his eyes threaten mist.

Going to college and working in social work was by far the hardest thing he'd ever done, but he'd done it. And he'd work the rest of his career to be the person he'd needed as a kid. To make all of this generation's 'Eddie Munsons' realize they aren't defined by their situation.

That they too could break the cycle.

Will I be the asshole if I take my sister's old job?

Me (21F) and my sister (23F) have always been academically competitive to some degree. We both chose the same career path, so we had most of the same opportunities open to us, which meant it was always pretty competitive in the who-did-what-better-when kind of way.

For some background; when we were younger, she got accepted into honors programs (she was two years older, so I wasn't old enough to be accepted yet) and rubbed it in everyone's faces, but then failed out. It's been a sore subject for years after I did the same Honors and passed with good grades. After that her grades tanked, and she stopped trying or caring about her school.

She went to a pretty mediocre university and after graduating, got a really high-up well paying job. Honestly we were all kind of wowed (her GPA was awful and her degree wasn't anything fancy) but we were happy for her. A few months ago though, she was fired from her job and is currently living unemployed with our parents.

A few weeks ago, the job was open again and I interviewed for it without telling anyone. I got accepted, but I feel guilty taking the position, since this was my sister's dream job. I know for a fact that she'd see it as a jab at her, even though that's not the case. My mother probably would too, even though this is one of the best jobs in the field. I don't want to cause unnecessary drama, but I really want the job.

Would I be the asshole if I took the position?

Just reaching out to let you know, that I've been reading all your stories since you started posting them and i truly enjoy them so much. It doesn't matter whether the story takes place in the Acotar world or an AU, you depict the characters wonderfully. Especially, I like that your stories showcase that Elain is powerful and driven without taking away the gentleness of her character. Also, the way you write Azriel is so tender and raw at the same time.

Growing up, I went through many phases of what I wanted to be (vet, anthropologist, nature teacher etc etc), but my I'm going to be an author phase lasted the longest. I'm thinking reader has just finished her masters degree at a university that is no where near Jersey. Maybe even all the way back in Switzerland. She's graduating on May 12th, but the devils are in the heat of their series with the Canes. Obviously she wants him there, but she knows that this is likely the most important game of Nico's career and that he needs to focus on that. So she doesn't expect to see him at all until after the Devil's playoff run.

Little does she know that Nico Hischier has a plan. He's not even sure that he will make it. It's unwise for him to miss practice, with his captaincy and all. However, in the event that the Devils lose to the Canes in game 5, Nico has a plane waiting to fly him to Switzerland immediately. He was definitely not happy with the way the game went, but he was excited to be able to support her during such a big moment. He took a few minutes after the game to do media, but then it was straight to the airport to board the flight.

By the time the game is over, it's like 5 am in Switzerland and she's dead asleep. She would usually have stayed up to watch, but she knew she needed the sleep for the busy day ahead. When she woke up and checked the score, her heart broke. Mostly for Nico and the disappoint she knew he was feeling, but also slightly because he had to miss her graduation for something that ended up being so futile. She wasn't upset with him, just the circumstances. She sent him a sweet text letting him know how proud she was of everything he accomplished this season and promising to fly to NJ to see him as soon as the graduation brouhaha was over. He sent her back an equally ooey gooey text thanking her for always supporting him and profusely apologizing for having to miss her graduation. Liar.

She appreciated the text, but it was also just another reminder that he wouldn't be with her today. She mourned his absence for a few minutes before forcing herself out of bed to start getting ready, entirely unaware that Nico was on his way to her.

With all the grad festivities, she didn't have any time to talk to Nico throughout the day. Which actually worked out for the best because he had no service on the plane.

Her parents did a great job distracting her throughout the day, hosting a small party and taking a million pictures. Nico's plane arrives around 2:30, giving him about 4 hours to get ready and grab flowers before the 6 pm ceremony.

They took a billion pictures and had all the emotional hugs before deciding on a place for dinner. Nico's treat, of course. He wrapped an arm around her waist as the exited the building, comfortingly rubbing his hand along her hip.

"Hey, question."

Nico turned to look at her, waiting for her question, "Hmm?"

She leaned up to whisper in his ear, "Can tonight be all about me too?"

His eyes darkened at her suggestive tone, not missing the coy smile playing on her lips. He didn't respond, just slid his hand to grab lightly at her ass. Oh yeah, tonight was all about her.

Some advice about choosing a career (from a burnoutee in her 30's)

I kinda talked about this already on my X/Twitter, but I figured I'd bring these thoughts here too.

If you don't know me or this is the first time you're seeing my content, hi! I'm Fuku, and I'm a criminal defense attorney irl.

Earlier this week, I suffered a pretty heavy loss at my job. Without going into any details, something bad happened to one of my clients when this person should've been taken care of by the institution they were being kept in and I wondered (like I always do when these types of things happen) if it was my fault.

You know, law school and med school are still seen as very safe bets to have a financially stable future. I cannot talk about med, but I can, from experience, talk about law -- I got to the 10-year mark now in 2024 working in law, ranging from internships, to public service related to law, to being a lawyer.

Law still is, to a great extent, a very safe degree to get -- you do have a ton of options from it. You can become a lawyer, in some places you can become a govt employee, or even teach if that's your thing (it is mine, and I already began my transition into a college teaching profession).

Now, I wanna address this... The most important thing you've gotta ask yourself if you want to be someone that is responsible for other people's wellbeing (such as a doctor is responsible for someone else's health, or a criminal defense lawyer is responsible for someone else's freedom) is this:

Are you prepared for the heavy mental load of having this degree of responsibility?

There is an extent to which everyone can make mistakes in their jobs. However, in my profession, a mistake can mean someone will be imprisoned for years, and we all know how awful life behind bars is. If the person comes out, they'll be forever marked as an ex-con, their life will NEVER be the same. From one mistake -- failing to observe a deadline, for example.

I'm not the one to suffer the dire consequences of my mistakes in my job, because my job is about other people's freedom. If I lose a deadline, it's not me who's gonna be behind bars for the foreseeable future -- they are.

That level of responsibility over other people's wellbeing constantly drives me to exhaustion, because I double, triple check everything I do to avoid having someone else losing their freedom because I did a poor job and failed them. It has taken a heavy toll on my mental health and a lot of therapy to not blame myself for things that weren't my fault. They were systemic issues within the criminal justice system itself.

Loving your job is important, it is. But loving your job isn't enough, especially when it drains the life out of you and has you panicking 24/7. I am transitioning careers because I can't stand being that heavily responsible for other people anymore. I wake up terrified and go to sleep just the same. Sometimes I dream of just being responsible for pushing meaningless data into spreadsheets and have the worst that can come from it be a roasting session. That's it.

So my nugget of wisdom for those who are still choosing a college/career path is: if you want a job that involves other people's wellbeing, take some time to consider how that will affect you, and how well do you think you'll be able to handle the losses that will inevitably happen in the future.

N/A : Okay so this post really took a while to write because I really struggle with it yet I tried something and I hope that you'll like it still !

𝙲𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚎𝚕 :

Castiel probably noticed that Candy wasn’t really enthusiastic about her degree but at the same time she was studying law/medicine so he thought this was normal 

(I mean from personal experiences and from what I’ve observed, at university it’s almost impossible to differentiate someone who doesn’t like their degree or someone that’s simply struggling with it. At some point everyone has their little burnout and mental breakdown era and it's almost part of the routine that it become ironically comical. And I don’t even want to imagine what it’s like when you’re studying medicine or law)

So when they all finally graduate from university (except if Candy’s studying medicine, then my girl still has a long way to go) he expected her to be happy about it because now she’ll be able to do her dream job 

At least he thought so but the he looks at her, she doesn't look happy at all 

It’s probably when Candy is a middle of a mental breakdown or an existential crisis (or both at the same time for more FUN) that she ends up telling him that this isn’t the job she wanted to do and it’s actually quite far from being her dream 

When she tells him she wants to be an author, he’s quite baffled because he really didn’t expect this 

I mean he knew Candy like to write and read, but she never really talked about making it her career 

He feels horrible because he wished he knew and it breaks his heart to see her so distressed 

He also angry at her parents because they’re the one that put her in this situation 

Afterwards he’ll try to find a solution at all cost 

Castiel is a very passionate person and it shows the best when it’s about his passion. Also, I think one of Castiel biggest fears is to live a life full of regret 

Therefore it really hurts him to see Candy so close to give up her dreams and he can see that it’s tormenting her

And he loves and cares about her a lot so he won’t let things get worse 

Giving up won’t be an option for Castiel (he’s a lot of things but certainly not a quitter) plus, since Crowstorm’s going pretty well, he has some ressources now

He’ll encourage her to take this year abroad with him to begin with and focus on her writing 

Since that he now knows that she wants to be an author and that he has some contacts, he might look up names in the book industry so he can share what he learned with Candy (and maybe give her some opportunities who knows ?) or he’ll tell her that he’d love to write what she reads if she allows him to (and that means a lot ‘cause as I said, he’s not much of a reader but for her, he can try to become a better one)

In the end, Castiel is very loyal and whatever’s her plans for the future, she can count on Castiel and is unfailing support

𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚛 :

Firstly, the long distance relationship makes it hard to communicate 

Also, when Candy comes to visit his at the farm or when he goes back in town occasionally, she seems to avoid talking about university 

He always thought it was because she didn’t want to think about stressful things

But one day, as graduation day was getting closer she couldn’t hold it in anymore and she ended up telling him about the situation 

Lysander listened to her diligently but he was very confused the whole time 

I think that if Candy’s a writer, it might have been one of the reason her and Lysander grew so close in the first place

Creative/Artistic interests really make people to connect with each other (and I think it’s beautiful) hence, I doubt that Candy and Lysander didn’t really talk about it together

Even before they started dating, Lysander probably asked her if he could read her works as he was curious and she let him 

And he liked it quite a lot (maybe a bit biased by love but that’s not gonna keep him from seeing talent)

But when she started university to study law/medicine, he thought that maybe it was because she didn’t see writing as something more than a hobby 

He’s can’t believe that her parents set her up like this 

Yes because for him, that’s clearly sabotage. How could they dismiss their daughter’s happiness like that ? 

However, Lysander can think of a few solutions already 

I mean what’s his is also Candy’s 

So he tell her that she’s more than welcome to come live on the farm as long as she wants to (even permanently) if she needs to get away from university 

He wouldn’t be the one to tell her « you should still finish that degree, it’ll open your doors for future jobs » because for him, there’s no point wasting time trying to « secure » a future for a job you have no interest in or no desire to pursue

To him, there’s no such thing as « prestigious » job and it’s nothing more than an superficial idea based on  traditional (and capitalistic) societal standards and that’s what he’ll tell Candy 

Overall, he’d encourage Candy to go after her dreams and with him by her side, he’ll certainly fill the lack of support from her parents because he’s determined to see her happy

𝙰𝚛𝚖𝚒𝚗 :

Armin doesn’t know much about being what it's like to be an author so when Candy tells him that’s the job she'd actually like to do he’d just be like « well do it then ? », not really making the connection between this dream and her actual studies 

Afterwards would have to tell her that she can’t because she’s studying to be a doctor or a lawyer and again he’d go « if you don’t want to do it, just don’t ? »

At this point Candy’s just « bitch be fucking for real »

However by saying that, he’s not trying to be a bitch or anything, I just think Armin has a very simple vision of things since he knows he’ll find support within in family for whatever he set his mind to (it may not included hacking governmental shit and then getting arrested in front of the whole high school, but I mean it’s not like Armin would do that, right ?)

Like he wants to be a game developper ? ‘Okay let’s do it’. He changed his mind and wants to do something else ? It’s still, ‘Okay, let’s do it’

He didn’t know Candy’s parents actually forced her to study law/medicine in order to become a lawyer/doctor and he’s honestly in disbelief 

He doesn’t get what her parents means by « prestigious job » and why they’re so pressed about her wanting to be an author. Like bro, they were certainly not the ones spending 5 years going through the ups and downs (and a lot of downs in these sectors so I’ve heard) of university and they also won’t  be the ones having to work for this « prestigious » work as they says for their whole life ???(WHY ARE THEY EVEN TALKING ABOUT IT FFS)

I feel like Armin would encourage her to do what she wants to do  without giving a shit about what her parents say

He has this philosophy that can basically be resumed as « doing whatever the hell occurs to him in the bloody moment » (it’s a little reference from the Haunting of Bly Manor but it’s accurate because if there’s one thing about this show, it’s that it teaches us that what really matters is to live in the moment and not for others. I am getting out of topic so I’ll just leave it here lol)

Like if she wants to finish her degree still, he’ll be like « okay sure » but know that he knows about your dream, he’ll try to find different way for you to achieve it

He’d make some researches to find ways to become an author and would find some platform for Candy to write on (yesss tech-boy)

He’d try to support her the best he can and would share her works on social medias and all (he’d also try to learn a bit more about the book industry ‘cause he doesn’t know anything about it. But that won’t stop him from basically being Candy’s manager even if she says he doesn’t need to do that much. He’s really invested lol)

He’s really supportive but he also view this as a kind of mission : she has to be an author ‘cause he won’t stand there watching her while the thought of giving up her dream is tormenting her 

𝙽𝚊𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚒𝚎𝚕 :

Oh dear, he’s completely disarmed when Candy tells him about not wanting to be a lawyer since he really thought that it was her dreams (she was studying this for almost the past 5 years so he assumed that she liked it you know)

He’s a bit relieved though because if his girlfriend wanted to be a lawyer, he’d be worried that his little slid-ups in life (is that an understatement ? I don’t think so. Everyone make mistakes right ?) would discredit or impact her

However when Candy tells him that it’s her parents that wanted her to become a lawyer (or a doctor), he starts to connect the dots

All these times when Candy told him that she felt like she was wasting her time and that uni was hellishly hard (relatable haha) in opposition to how her eyes lit up when she was talking about this idea she just had and that she wanted to write down

Yeah, if he hadn’t been caught up in this whole situation with the drug-deal/gang (whatever beemoov calls this), he would have noticed and perhaps he’d have been able to support her earlier

He feels guilty because he can only imagine how alone she must have felt for these 5 years and also, she kinda save him from such a fate 

I mean, guys, his father, before Nathaniel got emancipated, wanted him to go business school to be a CEO or whatever 

And Nathaniel did not wanted that nor did he wanted his life to be planned by his father 

and damn he succeed in that ‘cause I don’t think Francis (stinky bitch. Sorry I just feel the need to insult this man) really planned Nathaniel becoming a drug dealer so slay Nath (a win is a win y’all. Glad he didn’t actually make a career of it lol)

So, she doesn’t have to explain herself or anything, Nath just gets it 

Yet, he’s a bit confused about why she lets her parents decide her future when she basically did everything she could back in the days to prevent him from getting such a life 

So he’s a bit confused but don’t get me wrong, he’s grateful for Candy to have open his eyes on who he was and that he had the right to choose his own path (which apparently was drug-deal related. Sorry for that) so be sure that he’s more than glad to return the favour 

He’d have long conversations with Candy about it 

I feel like Nathaniel, at some point, might have want to become a detective novel writer (maybe in middle school or in the beginning of high school when he was still allowed to have dreams) so he knows one things or two about being an author since he already made some researches on the topic. Therefore, he’d share them with Candy 

Also, he’d propose her to read her works if she wants some feedback 

If Candy is scared to let everything down to do something completely different, Nathaniel will be here to tell her that at least she’s not alone in this situation and that they can go on this journey together (just to remind that he did a whole post-graduate degree in Literature to become a police officer, this will never not be funny to me)

In the end, no matter what, Nathaniel would encourage Candy to become an author just as she supported him so many times and he’d reassure by telling her that he’ll be her number 1 fan (this man god)

N/A : Okay so for Kentin it’s a bit different because I imagine the situation better in HSL’s settings (idk why but it doesn’t really matter anyway) so in this case Candy is not currently following a degree to be a lawyer or a doctor (and is not one either) but it’s the end of high school and her parents wants her to go to uni in that perspective :

Kentin can relate with Candy ‘cause his dad kinda wants him to join the army like he did 

Kentin’s dad basically wants his son to become another version of him and no, leave this boy alone pls (he’s too good to be like that)

So in this case, Candy and Kentin kinda share the same situation therefore I think they would both feel kinda stuck 

Its give them something to bond about (trauma-bond because of the fact they’re being controlled by the parents whose role should remain at being their kids support and not prosecutor. I feel like everyone in this game is traumatised one way or the other. Pls beemoov give them a break)

They would talk a lot about their dreams : Candy wants to be an author and share with the world her stories, Kentin wants to travel and be surrounded by animals (dogs more specifically. He’s a dog-person and I love that for him), both listening to the other with utter trust and attention as they’ve become each other confidant 

At some point, (I am not sure which one it would be but I would say it was Kentin since he really seemed to gain some maturity, especially after the whole Evan arc), but one of them just start to think « what if we actually go for it ? Like what if we just do it ?»

I mean they’ve been each other’s support for so long now (at least a few months), they know they can rely on each other. Therefore the idea of risking it all to pursue the life they’ve kept talking and dreaming about seem less scary than the though of waking up at 50 and wonder what could have been (my biggest fear really)

So when it comes to confront their parents about it, it would be this « I do it if you do it » vibe (out of topic but Kentin and Candy’s relationship is too sweet, even if I didn’t play it, it certainly has a special place in my heart)

They would end up telling their parents about their projects but it’s nothing like asking for approval. It’s more like their explaining them what they��re going to do and take it or leave it, no matter what we’re doing it

And we're done !

*Also I just want to add that, obviously, I have nothing against people pursuing studies to become a lawyer or a doctor (and I knows how hard this is so if you're doing that you have all my love & support <3) but it has to be a personal choice. It's only problematic when it was pressed upon you by someone else (especially parents)

I think sometimes about what it means to be remembered. I work full time in a job I don't care about, in a field I don't care about, purely because it's my only option, or at least the only option I'm willing to go with right now. I do my job, and I can see what it's doing, but at the end of the day it does still feel useless. in 20-30 years, nothing I've done at my job this year will matter at all.

when I studied literature at school, the teacher would always mention the different poets' and writers' education and careers. so many of them had law or med degrees. but that was all that was mentioned of it. much more text was spent on where they lived, what kind of life they had, why they might have come to write the things they did, and of course the writing itself. it's as if most of the time they spent in their lives was filler for the persons they would be recognized as later on

I've written a lot, and I love to see how people react to reading my stuff. everyone interprets it in so many ways, there is infinite time to spend just thinking about why I chose some words over others. but yesterday, I laughed at someone's joke so hard in the office that they had to stop the conversation so I would calm down. I went up to buy a chocolate bar, and a coworker grabbed it and said he'd pay for it because I've helped him so much.

is that filler for the person I will be recognized as in 100 years, if that even is the case? will people read my poems after I'm dead? will my great grandchildren know what life I had, should they exist at all? I don't know
