Trick or Treat is underway!!

I have selected all the Trick or Treat assignments and will be reaching out to each participant by the end of the week (Saturday 10/14).

The final deadline for artwork or fic is Saturday, November 4th! This gives you a little over 3 weeks to create your spooky or sweet masterpiece!

This goes without saying, but just in case some of you have never participated in this kind of event before, please keep your identity a secret from your Trick-or-Treat recipient! We want everyone to be surprised at the end of the event!

If you are having trouble with your assignment, please reach out to me! I can contact your Trick-or-Treat recipient on your behalf and get you more info on prompts or OCs! (You also can reach out to them with an anon ask and ask them for more info, but make sure it's anon bc ya gotta keep your secret identity!)

If you need to drop out of the event for any reason, you absolutely can. Life can get crazy. I totally get it. However, you need to let me know if that happens so I can have time to get a backup gifter set up.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to DM or send me an ask.

yet another spitball mephone theory!

OK I've already stated I'm really hoping mephone being the shimmer egg from 3gs is cannon even before we knew there was only 1 egg,

But like

Mephone generated at least parts of the island, we know this, we've seen the island itself change over the course of the seasons

there's giant random structures that look like shimmer eggs! I've been wondering what the heck those things were, and it could be a coincidence, but if mephone4 is the missing shimmer, maybe the giant shimmer patterned structures were a subconscious memory or something that snuck in when mephone was generating the setting!

Another thing, I forget which but in a past stream it was mentioned the shimmer could potentially mess with the contestants for things like inverting their personalities, where fan could potentially become a critic and call out generation errors, hence the joke made of pointing out layering glitches in the background, and although this was scrapped, this could at least explain why the shimmer specifically made fan glitch! Cause they have the same power that allowed mephone to generate the contestants!

True we do know mephone still needs his contestant data and melife support in order to generate anything, hence how cobs is causing perminant deletions, but he's still the only phone who can generate items! No other meeple product could generate real items from nowhere.

Realistically I'm probably just spewing nonsense but ey, we won't know until the final episode, plus I just absolutely love imagining how meohone would react to figuring out he's technically a kidnapped child forced into a body that wasn't his and made to be a disposable product, now in a weird spot where he can't fully fit in with the shimmer, but also can't fit in with other objects, he's stuck in a weird middle ground crisis of not properly fitting anywhere and not even fully sure what or who he is

Also ngl I also love the idea that the shimmer actually are a genuinly loving and supportive family that would gladly welcome mephone back with open arms even if he's been turned into something he shouldn't have been, trying to help him recover from all the conditioning and bad coping mechanisms he gained from his time with cobs and on the show,

You know for a fact mephone would genuinly be surprised and confused about having a father figure whos genuinly proud of him and doesn't hit or berrate him for his failures, and is actually supportive of his interests, dudes just not used to that

Gunman Joe is most likely a hologram and is probably controlled by one of the inventors to stilt the other's progress (and probably not whoever Eggmuffin is, as it appears on top of their building and would probably dissuade Layton and Luke's efforts to connect to Eggmuffin). The voice is probably a voice changer of sorts. I don't think this is the main antagonist though.

The background art is GORGEOUS. And VERY American. I forgot to mark it down on my bingo sheet. SNAILMOBILE AND OSTRIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok... I think what was originally making me feel gloomy about the models is solved after seeing the puzzle solved (heh) animation, and I feel a bit more hopeful. The models we see here only have one form of shading as opposed to the NWOS switch teaser or the puzzle solved animation. This game IS early in development so now that makes sense. I mean it looks bad but I think it'll improve. And if not I'll do it myself. Plus the shading in the switch teaser is purple-hued and the shading in-game that we see here is black, which is USUALLY a sign it's still being tweaked around in the background.

The fact that they're STILL aiming for 2025 makes me worried though... The game definitely needs polishing. Realistically delaying it would've been expected at its current stage, but persisting in a 2025 release gives it about a year and a third. Of course Level 5 is known for delaying things all the time so they could just be like "gomen minasama 2026" but... I feel like if they are persisting in a 2025 release... mm... After all of that, the trailer was nice but a bit worrisome. It's obvious now that they're still in development and it's not the final look though! One thing that comes to mind is the crusty Desmond model we saw wayyyy early on in AL's development;

Like. There's still time. I would be especially surprised if the don't at least add a bit of texturing to some of the models (like the texture-baked shaking in luke's hat or desmond's hair). I'm less pessimistic about the 3d model style now especially with its siblings looking as peak as it is (inazuma eleven, decapolice, etc)

That being said, I can't say much about what I'm hoping for until we see the TGS (did you guys forget about TGS /silly), though if it IS coming out in 2025... I hope to god it's like. December or something. I really don't want this to be rushed and with how it looks right now I wouldn't exactly be happy with it. In fact if there is 2d cutscenes I can totally see them saving it up for TGS too just to have something new and exciting rather than the same information we've already seen. Concluding, things are going smoothly, models are still developmental-looking, and I have mixed feelings but it's slowly bouncing back to positive all because of crusty desmond png

ok so. is it unusual for a girl to want to have a deep voice and a flat chest and a more square face and also feel slightly jealous of men and want to sound like them and look like them

and also is it unusual to want to be all that, but also simultaneously not be very bothered very much by how you look right now or by being referred to with she/her except for sometimes when you think about it too much. because i usually don't think about it except for sometimes where i suddenly just get really sad about being a girl or i'll always have this faint feeling that i am just unhappy about it

and also is it unusual to try to ignore it and go about your life being unbothered by it even though deep down it does kinda bother you but you can't really. like. say anything to anyone because your family won't react well and neither will your friends because they'll think it's weird and uncomfortable. i feel afraid to ever feel this way because i know the people in my life won't react well to it

so like. genuine question please lmk wtf is goin on because i'm unsure if it's normal and i've felt like this for a long time and it's confusing me and i don't even know what i'm going to do with the information once i know i'm just sort of lost LMAO

did anyone see x (2022) and if so can you explain the significance of the repeated line "I will not accept a life I do not deserve." it already doesn't make very much sense coming from a would be movie star but what would a born-again tv preacher possibly mean by saying such a thing. born-agains' entire thing is accepting a life we do not deserve. all have sinned and fall short of the glory of god / I am come that they might have life and have it in abundance. is this just dumb and lazy screenwriting or am I missing something
