and he also sort of plays with Whenua but in that case its more like they affectionately insult and tease one another the whole time. Whenua will sit him on his lap with some excuse like teaching him how to deal with an earthquake or smth and go at it and then Onewa will say "is that the best youve got?" with a shiteating grin and hell laugh like fuck off you pillow princess i dont see you doing much, and they go back and forth like that until Onewa starts struggling to think straight, at which point Whenua will tease him mercilessly until the other is just straight up incoherent and its time to ease him down a little more gently before his brain explodes. and then once theyre all good n resting he jokes that his stamina sucks and Onewa goes how DARE you and they have sleepy aftercare banter until one of them starts snoring

Vakama is the only one who doesnt tend to dick Onewa down. thats because hes one hell of a cowboy. hell be all unassuming, invite him for tea after meeting with him, chat a while, yknow, typical turaga stuff, and then oh whoops would you look at that its gotten too late you should stay over... and when Onewa smiles and goes "ohhh you sly lil firespitting bastard you done trapped me huh?" Vakama acts all innocent and denies all accusations while also actively seducing him. master of looking like an angel going "i dont know what youre talking about" while very gently laying him down on the bed, climbing over him, and sitting right on his crotch. and Onewa just lets him bc its hot as hell when the firespitters sort of softly in charge like this. plus from his perch atop him Vakama always leans down to give him smooches on the chin while hes riding the absolute shit out of him so hard that Onewa gets genuinely winded and its the best

(and more vocasynths can be added with certain story beats and stuff but its not common) (and also for whatever reason if the character is the 4th in the unit, like how in pjsk theyre ordered a certain way, like ichika -> saki -> honami -> shiho, the last one’s link is EXCLUSIVE TO THAT SEKAI!!! i dont remember why i made that decision i think it was for reasons with the vocasynths being able to be as-close-to-real-as-they-can-get when exiting phones, like instead of just holograms, but its this whole complicated thing so idk why) (and i havent come up with an order for the grand slams) (which consists of the main four) (aka baseball nickle balloon and suitcase) (so idk how that works yet. oops) i dont want vocasynths that are already linked to other characters in other groups or in the same group to share a link. exception for groups outside of the main ones, like i have some rough concepts of bfdi character groups, who have almost nothing to do with the story excluding one specific character whom i will not name, but like if one from there shares a link with an ii group then idgaf yknow

WELL ??? oh well LOL but anyways so i was in this little online group idk i kind of just found them through twitter and i was like WHY NOT so i became friends with this guy he went by socks(discord names are so real)and like we got really close right and like he was the only person i really VC’d with (AND AND TO BE FAIR I THINK ITS BECAUSE WE WERE LIKE THE BABIES OF THE GROUP) like we were the same age while everyone else was like 19-25ish now(idk what i was doing hanging out with them as a minor but oh well)(i’m 18 now so it’s ok!)(but i literally don’t talk to any of them now LOL)but i remember this one specific conversation where he was like teaching me spanish?? because i don’t know i was teaching him viet too so it was just a silly little thing and i translated it(this was through texts like i still have the screenshot LOL) and he basically confessed to me through text in spanish right then afterwards they were like JK JK JK!! IDK idk if it was real or not but we drifted a lot after that so idk! sock if ur out there !! im sorry !! to be fair though they didn’t give me a chance to reply because i had to translate it then when i came back to the chat they were like IM JK IM JK SO idk! i completed Sable

im gonna compare this to so many other games dude you have no idea

when i first finished the tutorial and drove out into the sand dunes proper, i thought about hyrule field. like pretty much every other gamer born after 1999, i dont see it the same way is was seen when it was released. it was a flex - nintendo bragging about how the n64 can make a wide open field. of course theres nothing to do in it, thatd give them a chance to hide a loading zone or mask pop-in; they werent just a magician showing that there was nothing up their sleeve, they took off their shirt. this is what amazed gamers when they first left kakariko village: the sheer scope.

now its just a big, empty field. with technological advancements, thats seen as a failure in modern world design - what, you mean you couldnt be bothered to put anything here?

sable somehow managed to capture what i can only imagine was the sense of wonder players felt seeing hyrule field, but for a totally different reason. it wasnt a flex of pure technology, it was an exercise in ludonarrative! the way it gets you comfortable with exploring every nook of the ibexii village before showing you a world thats figuratively one hundred times bigger is such a fun way to pull the rug out from the player.

it could have easily been overwhelming in a negative way too, causing an "aw man, ive gotta explore all this?" reaction, but the narrative of sable being able to (instead of having to) explore sets the player up to share this outlook with her. "i get to" turning into "i have to" is the kiss of death for enjoying a game, and i think sable avoids this very well. when i got to the badlands, i didnt think "aw man, i have to climb all these rocks to get to the cartographer" i thought "oh cool, how do i climb these rocks to get to the cartographer?" because i was having fun solving an environmental puzzle.

another comparison i wanna make is to, believe it or not, Fallout. its an open secret that the fallout games are a bit lackluster when it comes to open worlds (I HAVE NOT PLAYED NEW VEGAS), but the originals had a great implementation of subtle directioning and signposting. the most famous example is right at the beginning: between your starting location and your compass's first mark, theres a town, and you need to buy a rope from that town to proceed, and thats how you get wrapped up in a major sidequest and open up a link to the rest of the world. Sable pulls the same trick for me: i was following the compass to the next major village, and i stumbled upon a weird location i couldnt really parse. i could climb a tree and pick up weird smokey seed things, but i couldnt do anything else. when i get to the town, im asked to collect beetle hides for a side quest - and that 'useless' location was called the beetle nest.

while im comparing this to bethesda games, id be remiss if i didnt mention skyrimming. its a phrase i use to describe ramming yourself up a nearly sheer cliffside to see if the physics engine lets you scale it. i did it all the time as a misguided tween playing skyrim for the first time, because i couldnt be bothered finding paths up the mountains. Sable lets you do something similar, but with more intention. the games open world design means it totally accepts you taking unintended routes. i didnt take the easiest route to the badlands village, but i still got there. allowing me to succeed in an unintended way is the mark of a wonderful open world game.

i got to eccria, and full disclosure, i had to crank my graphics settings all the way down. there were too many buildings and npcs for the game to handle. i kept getting lost in the big-ass city, too. when the investigation (side?)quest began i gave up on gathering clues because i straight up couldnt find my way to one of the suspects. i could still finish the quest is the thing, it just ended without any real satisfaction. i think thats great! part of good open-ended design is letting players end without perfectly curated satisfaction.

then i went to the shipyard. was i supposed to be there? thats a silly question to ask about an open world game. anyway, the answer is no, because i spent half an hour trying to climb a mountain for a quest i couldnt finish because i didnt have the right mask. man, this game rules.

man, i havent even talked about the art direction yet. what is there to say? im a sucker for cell shading, and this game leans into it so well! the way the colour palette changes when you go between areas is so cool, like... i cant even put it into words, its just so fun to look at. ive always considered deserts a hard place to make visually interesting, but Sable does such a great job with that

it was at this point that i started aimlessly floating around finishing up sidequests and oddjobs until the endgame. i only started noticing how glitchy the game is at this point. im not holding it against the game at all, because frankly its a miracle that any video game boots to a title screen if you know how programming works (not to say that i do) but its hard not to complain about all the times that things just... didnt load in. sometimes id crash my bike into invisible buildings, sometimes i would just despawn of my bike and have to dismount it to be visible, and one time a chum was invisible. this isnt a skill issue i watched the particles come out of nowhere

in the end, this is a wonderful game. if i had to pick one thing it does best, its the atmosphere. it puts all of its effort into making you feel like a small fish in a big desert, and i really related to my character in the world. also, i dont wanna spoil what masks you get in this game, so ill just say i picked the completionist one with the four-letter name. no its not the fuck mask, dont ask me if theres a fuck mask because im not telling you

Hannah said, I pulled the door open and let her walk in to the diner.

"Is something new coming out that I didn't know of?"

Katie responded, stepping past me after her.

"I think she means she just wants to get out of the house kate."

"Oh, okay."

They both turned towards the order screen and started choosing their dinners.

"Look y/n it's not that I wanna get out of the house. It's that I really don't wanna hang out with my mother all day every day. I already do that... And I miss girl time."

I rolled my eyes and stepped up to the screen to add my order.

"So our plan for every week now is gonna be movie, dinner here, we don't talk for 6 days, then repeat?"

Katie laughed.

"Guess so."

I paid and took the receipt.

"We could switch things up if that doesn't sound fun."

Hannah said, grabbing a cup out of the dispenser.

she said, standing and walking to him. i couldnt comprehend what was happening fast enough. and before i knew it she was standing next to him as he ordered. god this was going to be interesting. i hadnt seen or talked to bucky in a few months and now one of my best friends was asking him on a date for me. not that i had a choice in the matter but still. he looked over at me and i gave him a tight-lipped smile. god i wasnt going to hear the end of this if he decided to even talk to me. they seemed to chat for only a moment before kate came back to the table with a wide grin on her face.

"well he said he was flattered, and he thinks youre very pretty."

when i was finally home i sighed and and sank into the couch. i loved my girls nights but they were always tiring by the time we were done. and i was so tired i was thinking about just sleeping right there in my jeans. i didnt wanna move much less get ready for bed. going to the bar after the diner was not a good idea even though i wasnt the one drinking. 

"you look beat."

i heard a soft voice from the kitchen, turning slightly to see bucky leaned against the door frame with his arms crossed over his chest.

"if you knew where i was tonight you would know why."

he snickered to himself.

"i did and i do. those are some partiers you hang around with."

i snorted.

"only occasionally."

he pushed off the door and walked further into the living room.

"so i take it i should leave?"

i shrugged against the couch, my shirt pulling up and exposing part of my tummy.

i was hopeful but i knew better.

"its fun while it lasts but you know im not made for this anymore. the home, the spouse, the charmed life."

i sighed and buried my face into his chest.

"but you could be. you can be whatever you want. you could be mine."

his breathing hitched and he pulled away. he looked between my eyes with a sad look behind his own.

"i love you."

"but?"

i asked sadly.

"it would kill me if you got hurt again... because of me."

i shook my head slowly.

"im retired from that life. and maybe you should consider it too."

then i heard a beeping from his phone that was all too familiar. the world needed him. and i couldnt deprive them of that. he helped people. thats just who he was.

he looked at me like a beaten dog, and i slowly let him go.

alright im now back to investigating the Welcome Home website !! so exciting !!

everything under the cut

so i went back to the homepage and i realized that 'hey, the animation of home is like the other animations across the site, can i click it?' and turns out yes

lol its just him saying 'Welcome home!' and laughing, which is cute but kinda ominous

so im assuming all the bugs are videos where you can hear Frank and the other neighbors talking to each other, and its also from (presumably) Wally's perspective

OH WAIT I JUST REALIZED THAT THE ONE ON THE HOMEPAGE IS TITLED 'I' NOT 'C' OOPS

which is interesting !! ive opened the other doodles that i've found and yep the titles definitely spell a sentence

'I' 'will' 'Will' 'Help' im gonna assume that every word with a capital letter is the start of a sentence, so there's at least 2 or 3 sentences

-you can tell just from this thirty seconds that ezran has been callum’s therapist for to last two years

-are they really expecting the staff to still be there?

-ezran literally never questions any of callum’s dorkiness he’s always just like “you do you big bro”

-also ibis going from “powerful sky mage” to “dragonsitter” is so funny to me like there are so many more important things for him to do but nope he’s here trying to convince the prince to eat his vegetables

-also i’m pretty sure i’ve said this before i’m gonna ask again, are the runes for the wing spell tattooed on ibis’s arms or does he just like regularly repaint them? or after you do the spell once are they just there permanently? and if that’s so does callum also have the runes on his arms? he has to in some way because he just did the wing spell last episode

-can’t tell if viren is acting like this to terry because he is an elf or just because he’s his daughter’s boyfriend

hes also very very good with kids. he convinces this little boy that his mask has special powers to help the kid get out of the car safe and its so sweet

like this kid is terrified and honestly so is peter but hes staying calm and convincing this kid that this mask will make him stronger so he can save him. THIS is the moment i was talking about. this is when peter becomes spiderman.

the moment he gave that kid back to his father alive and safe is when he became a superhero. thats also when he coins the name. but this exact moment is what made him into the actual hero rather than just having the name. he gets home and he stares at his mask bc now he knows he has an immense responsibility to save peoples lives and keep them safe.

before his darling comes to town, everyone was already talking about the new person coming to buy the house in sale, news run quikly in the little town

when his darling gets there, when he sees them he just stands there watching them put the boxes inside the house, he almost looks hypnotized by them (OH ALSO! his eyes turn pink when looking at his darling :3 normaly his eyes are a pink-ish gray)(i would also like to say that i like to imagen that his pink eyes glow a bit in the dark just cause :3c)

he talks to them a lot and wants to know *everything* about them, of course its because everyone knows everyone in there and it will make his job easy! haha no hes not obsessed with them! what do you mean?! gfdhdfgsdfgcxyrtf

if them say hi can help with the boxes hes 100% going to help and maybe even keep somethings to himself, somethings that theyll probably not noticed much if it went missing

everytime that he sees a letter for his darling that someone elses wats him to send it, he points the letter at the sun to see if theres anthing that "interesting" in there and if he can read that its somekind of love letter, he is not gonna like that and just simply not deliever it, instead waiting till his houme or when its night to open it, he feels guilty at first yes! cause its like, againt the rules of a mailman thats not to open someone elses letter, but like, if no one knows it, maybe its fine!

he reads the letter and just simply destroy it after wards or when he just dont want to read it anymore like "how could this person think they know more about my darling then me!?!!!!?"

he also writes his own letters, some he send it to you as a anonymos admire and others he keeps it to himself, it could be cause its too obsessive like, or too expecific, it can be any reason really

also! about that person that wrote his darling a love letter, hes going to very quietly at night kill the person, its a very calm town so no one would know that that happen, it can take a while to someone to discover the body and who was the killer since no one can thing of someone that could had done this

no one would suspect the fellow mailman that only job is deliever letters and help people!

also! after killing the person, he uses theyre blood to write a love letter, and he does this every time he kills some one, it just feels more especial
