I have not posted any of my analysis to reddit yet and I think I might just post it and ghost it. I've already spent too much time looking at other people's threads on there to feel any way good about interacting with folks.

I already went in an added the "I know you're going to bring this up let me save you the time" section which is exclusively touching on the frequent topics of:

You really care about Meet the Robinsons and I love that. What is it about this movie that has made you fall in love with it?

That is an excellent question!

Personally I just really love the film because no matter how many times I watch it, the ending gets me EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's funny, sad, witty, charming, and I find myself quoting it just about every day.

I've found that a lot of movies don't have likeable main characters, but I really love Lewis. He's just a little boy who wants to be loved, and he gets that and more by the end of the film, and it makes me emotional every time.

I love that there are so many characters that we only see a glimpse of, because it's really fun coming up with headcanons for them, too.

I could watch this movie a million times and still catch things I haven't before, and I will laugh at the jokes no matter how many times I've heard them because they're so funny to me.

Overall I just really love this movie because it holds such a special place in my heart. My daughter has even started asking me to watch it with her, and I will never tell her no. She calls it "The Bowler Hat Guy Movie," and that makes me really happy for some reason.

In conclusion, I just really love this movie. 😭🥲

listen this might be something that seems obvious to me because I actually like the art of film and storytelling and art in general, but maybe… don’t make movies based off of old movies you very obviously hate. Why should I watch your remake if all you do is shittalk the source material you based it off of? How is that supposed to convince me your “new and improved” version is going to be better if you keep telling me the bar is literally rock bottom?

i may go to college in new england, but i am a floridian at heart! i live really close to orlando so i’d love to discuss josh at disney! you guys had me twirling my hair and kicking my feet talking abt josh at disney. i feel like josh would be a big fan of muppetvision. on tower of terror he would instantly reach over and grab your arm when you drop. he would giggle like a maniac when his bum lifts off the seat though.

i also just love to imagine him at animal kingdom. if he wore his khaki jumpsuit he would look like a little safari man!!! he would lean so close to you and point at the animals with the sweetest smile on his face.

(maybe this is too self inserty lol but) you would look at him with your little remy ears on asking him to please go on remys ratatouille adventure and he’s like “munch, isn’t this ride for kids??” but he cant resist how cute you look with the remy headband on (as if he would ever say no to you anyway) (and he also secretly wants to go on it too). at the gift shop he would see the little remy that sits on your shoulder and he would buy it and wear it on his shoulder the entire rest of the trip. (bonus points if he wears it on him hat to be a lil silly at one point)

I assume this is about Kamala, so just the comics! and tbh I don't even read the comics I wish I could my brain just doesn't process them so I don't even miss her in a "I wish she wasn't dead" way I just want new Ms Marvel content and I can't believe we have to wait until November to get it 😭

I went to go see Little Mermaid with a friend who wanted to see it and unfortunately Disney has GOT to stop with these live actions. Also i like Lin Manuel Miranda and I’m glad he’s getting his Disney bag but I immediately clocked the two new songs as his even before the credits rolled…and neither one was a good song.

Watched the deleted storyboard scene from the original, totally different iteration of Wish…

And while I definitely agree it’s entirely better than anything that actually made it into the final product, I also do agree with Whoever at Disney that said Star’s personality completely overshadows Asha’s. I can see from this clip how that might have been a huge problem with the whole first incarnation of the movie. Making her yet another Adorkable Disney Princess in the final draft was a bland choice, but there are plenty of things in between those extremes that they could have done. It’s a shame they didn’t bother.

I don’t think it comes from a place of goodwill for most people (many of whom were ridiculously harsh on Asha from the moment she was revealed), but I actually like the fan theory that canon Asha is somewhat in the wrong and that the King had a very flawed but (somewhat) effective system going - granting wishes he’s deemed safe to grant, looking after all the others, not asking anything in return* - and that Asha, in her youthful idealism, barged in and smashed that system to pieces with no functional follow-up plan. I think she’s going to be in way over her head, grant wishes that turn out to be harmful or dangerous, and maybe she’ll even have to work with the imprisoned king to try to fix things much like another young magical girl fave of mine and her bound demon bestie - and that potential makes her interesting to me. Whether Disney intended it or not 😆

*ftr I don’t agree he was a good ruler, and I think most of the flavors of this theory come across as bootlicking the monarchy lol
