Craziest thing you ever did

I reckon that depends on what your definition of 'crazy' includes.

That said, going purely off my own definition I would say that leaving Shreveport for New York felt pretty high up on the scale at the time.

How I ended up becoming a published felt pretty crazy when it happened (in the best way possible), but beyond writing the original short story collection, I'm not entirely sure I can say that I did that so much as it happened to me.

And then there was both leaving my job at the record store (a big hey all y'all and hugs for my Right Tone family, miss you bunches) to write full time, and putting the Mr. Porkers series on hold for a year (and a massive thank you to my publisher for letting me do that) so I could spread my wings and try out some new things. Both of those were firmly in the 'crazy' camp. At least as far as my bank balance goes.

And then there's the incident of which we do not speak, and I did have more of an active part to play in that happening, but I still reckon that it counts as 'a thing that happened to me' and not a 'thing I did', but like the name says, we do not speak of it.

But out of al of those, I reckon moving to New York was the 'craziest' thing I ever did just because it was the biggest change and biggest risk I had ever taken in my life up to that point.

Would you ever want any more children?

Short answer: Yes. Being a mother was always a 'maybe some day' thing for me until Moriah arrived in my life, and now that she has, I can't imagine my life without her. She's enriched it in countless ways and I will be eternally grateful that fate saw fit to put us together and would absolutely welcome another child into our family.

Long answer: Yes, but... For starters, the choice isn't entirely mine to make. Quinn would obviously play a central role in any decision to expand our family. And any decision like that would have to weight the pros and cons and practicalities and concerns, and a million other details that the last few years have taught us both come with a child. And that's before we even get into decisions like adoption versus IVF, or what sort of timeline we'd want for it. And then there's Moriah's feelings to consider. Not that I have any reason to believe she'd object, but it would represent a significant change in her life as much as it would ours, and I don't think Quinn or I could in good conscience pursue having more children without Moriah being on board with the decision.

pondering that falon'din is associated with an owl, and those are also messengers of andruil. and he's referred to as "winged death" which is also mentioned to be something that elgar'nan deploys against enemies. and both falon'din and andruil are referred to as venturing into dark places, where no one else can survive/wanted to go.

and ghilan'nain was not initially an evanuris, but was antagonistic towards them and making a bunch of weird creatures. she was given the offer to join them in return for getting rid of the creatures, and accepted. but with "pride stopping her hand" from destroying a few. and when asked about trusting people to share power, solas says "I know that mistake well enough to carve the angles of her face from memory."

solas also has nothing good at all to say about falon'din, mostly calling him a bloodthirsty tyrant who went so far in encroaching onto other evanuris territory that mythal had to besiege his temple and beat him up to stop him.

but he says nothing about dirthamen at all.

dirthamen is described as having gone missing unexpectedly, scaring all his followers, because they were now unprotected. and caught between their own high priest wanting to lock them into the temple forever like a cask of amontillado, and other forces outside that wanted to take their secrets by force. there is one note that a dirthamen follower defied the evanuris and took on a forbidden (probably a dragon) type of form, and was judged by elgar'nan harshly. he apparently also invented the varterral to protect his town from a high dragon? wack, but also could indicate that he had worked with ghilan'nain on making it, since she's the only one who's otherwise mentioned to be bioengineering stuff.

dirthamen has very very few surviving statues or depictions, and is more associated with falon'din than as his own independent figure in the dalish myths. even his own temple includes mosaics of falon'din. there's a few statues that are probably dirthamen, but the most striking is in mythal's section of the fade behind the eluvian, which is a statue of a hooded figure, doubled over with a giant sword sticking out of his back.

as much as i adore the training trio and makis dynamic with kaito i do love how danganronpa s shows her branching out more and expanding on her utdp friendships with chiaki and chihiro. it gets me a little emotional... she's finally letting herself connect with others and have friends even if they don't know everything about her yet....

Does Quinn being out of New York so much bother you?

Alright, all of you who seem so interesting in that state of our marriage pay attention as I'm only going to say this once:

Would I like Quinn to be around more? Yes, of course I would. I love her and have been in love with her for years, so it should come as no surprise to anyone that spending more time with the person I love would be something I would like, and I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling that way about my significant other.

Does that mean that Quinn pursuing her career outside of New York bothers me? No.

Let me say that again for those in the nosebleed seats.

No.

Quinn and I have always been very focused, very driven people. It's one of the many things I both admire and love about her and I'm sure she would say the same about me. That I stepped back from focusing on my career after having Moriah was my choice, and I in no way, shape, or form hold it against Quinn that she didn't do the same. Especially since I have already taken several steps to resume my own career over the last year, with several more steps in the works as we speak, nor did I ever fully stopped pursing it to begin with (as shown by my highly successful solo album).

And while my career has focused almost exclusively been on live performances, and Broadway specifically, Quinn's career has always leaned more towards film. And while New York has a thriving film industry, the simple fact of the matter is that the vast majority of filming happens outside of this incredible City/State and I could no more ask Quinn to limit herself to New York than she could ask me to give up Broadway.
