i need to know what you think about uta being ace's and sabo's sister too... like imagine a perfect world where uta existed without the mess of film red (i did enjoy it but also uhhhhhhhh there are a lot of weird things abt it bc i dont think shanks would actually take in uta like that considering he did experience piracy as a kid. so why would he put uta through that even if she'd stay put on the ship–) ANYWAY. so lets say shanks found uta after obtaining the devil fruit and takes her to the nearest island (dawn island.) then found makino and luffy and convinces her to stay w them or whatever.

i imagine that ace and uta do bicker w each other a lot. however sabo is very kind and excited to have a sister!! he's protective of her and enjoys her songs. (which brings out a surprising singing side from sabo ehe...)

i also imagine that uta is as rowdy and gluttonous as her brothers tbh. i mean, she's the only girl there so she's more than likely to be influenced by them. ALSO imagine uta being raised by dadan wheewwwww.... i think if she was raised alongside asl bros, she'd end up way different than she did in film red and well- actually become a pirate– (maybe rivaling with her brothers? that or she acts as luffy's biggest rival to be pirate king as her way of supporting his dream) (idk im just thinking as i type)

so everythings the same but uta is there with three insane brothers (shes as insane too... she is their equal). though it's lowkey clear dadan has a favorite (she loves a tough daughter) and god everything w garp would be so insane too like. before sabo was accepted and started living with the bandits, garp was happy to have a granddaughter (till she said she wanted to become a pirate too 😭) BUT he makes sure ace and luffy treats their sister right and is again being a favorite– however, she wouldn't suck up to him like that. like how the brothers would shield each other from garp, she would also shield them from garp !!

and yes, even if uta is a year younger than ace and sabo, she still would call herself a big sister (especially for knowing luffy longer than the other two. shes just used to being the older one)

anyway... lets say asul au is a tjing, now consider ASUL + S as we love talking about asl+s. with uta around, sanji likely thinks that all sisters are good because shes nice to him too. and how she clearly loves her brothers too. but ofc, uta surrounded by brothers while claiming to be the big sister, makes sanji incredibly jealous about their sibling relationship. it reminds him of reiju and his brothers, how they never really got along. while asul got along really well. they fight a lot but it's never with the intention to hurt each other or make the other feel worthless.

and who am i if i dont bring up sabosan at some point LOL. (also mb that this ask is so long i just love uta sm and i love aus sooo bad <<3) uta is definitely one of the first to notice her brothers' fondness of sanji. she is fond as him as well but not the same way as them lol. she tells sanji some secrets about sabo and sanji just cannot tell if shes actually serious or not because of how mischievous her smile is. and uta absolutely teases sabo about sanji, especially when hes not around like– that little song that little kids sing when it comes to someone havinf a crush.

and luffy definitely chimes in while sabo is beet red and begging them to shut up fkldjfldj. makino and uta Looooves gossiping about sabo and sanji. makino does ask to tone down her teasing, which she does, but she can't help but push each other's buttons.

idk theres just a lot to think about if uta was raised with asl brothers and uta growing up to be a pirate :^)

THIS IS SO CUTE !!!! Honestly, Film Red never sat right with me but not exactly because of Shanks' decision of keeping Uta. I see that pretty much in character for the guy-- What I don't like is the way they rushed the ending and the way it all ended, in general. It's just obvious they wanted to do Uta's story but in a way that didn't affect the canon and it's just- Stupid. Idk.

But let's say Shanks meets Uta and spend some years together and she does consider him her father (as I see it, because in this sibling group all of them have to have daddy issues. Except Luffy. Because more than daddy issues he just. Doesn't care-) but he leaves her with Luffy because he says it will be good for her. I think she wouldn't agree with his decision and something like in the movie would happen. Where he just... Leaves. And Uta ends up hating him or at least resenting him a bit. And it's obvious he did for her and he had good intentions but she's just a kid, so she genuinely takes it personal. So, yeah, the girl stays as Luffy's older sister, basically. At least this is how I see it.

Then Sabo and Ace appear and- It's chaotic.

Imo, she's still a diva and she still loves music because it's in her blood and also, she spent some time with Shanks so she already has a bit of her personality made. But being with them makes her learn more about protecting herself and being a bit ruthless, although I think she's more of the type to ler her brothers do the dirty work and only follow them in their shenanigans if they go "You only say that because you can't do it!!" (<- Ace, definitely) and she has to prove she can be as strong as them. So she's a diva but she's a bit more impulsive and reacts in a more violent way. Especially with food too.

I think she wouldn't get along much with Ace at first because he's a mess and she's also a mess and they're really similar when it comes to being Luffy's older siblings so they wouldn't agree on most stuff. But daddy issues are a good way of bonding and I'm pretty damn sure that if Ace ever said "Should I have been born?" in front of her, she would go insane trying to make him see that everybody deserves to live.

With Sabo, though, I think they'd get along pretty well. Sabo is still chaotic but a bit calmer than Ace and he has a strong ideology that Uta would definitely share. He wants to make a statement for freedom and Uta agrees and tbh, he's a writer and she's a singer and there's no better friendship than that one.

Her relationship with Luffy is pretty much the same, except that she now acts way more as a sister and not only as a past friend. Of course. She joins them drinking too!!

Ngl, you can hate me for this but I think the events of Red could easily happen... Again... I mean... Not exactly those events but-- Uta's dream would obviously be to reach everyone with her music. To make them feel seen and loved and making them see they should live. Because after spending so much time with her brothers, she wants to sing songs for the rest of the people that feel the same way they do. She always has them in mind when she sings and she always, always, tries to make them have fun and enjoy life. I think Uta's perception of living and freedom would clash a lot with Ace's and she'd try to make him want to live through music. Same with with freedom and Sabo/Luffy.

But then Sabo dies. And Ace dies. But Sabo comes back and-- I am sorry, and I know it partially was the mushroom's fault, but she's kind of unstable mentally (who isn't in this show tbh) and it wouldn't surprise me that her blatant optimistic views would make her want to do exactly what happens in Red again. But I think this time it should be Sabo and Luffy the ones saving her and, you know, idk, maybe Shanks is there too but this isn't about him today. Whatever. She doesn't hurt anyone and it has a good ending, but it's not the point of the post--

So Sanji is there with them! Following what we've already been saying about Sanji staying with the ASL bros but now adding Uta!!

Uta would absolutely. Adore. Sanji. He's the perfect little sibling. He's cute and knows how to cook and he's literally everything that's right in this world. She complains about Luffy crying but when Sanji does so she only says it's cute and that he deserves to cry-- Uta likes cute stuff canonically and Sanji is the cutest thing, so it makes sense. Also, Sanji just assumes every woman in the world is perfect from that very second because between his mom, Reiju and now Uta he has only had good experiences with girls. He does feel kind of left out at first remembering everything that happened with the Vinsmokes, but Uta always tries to include him in every little thing!

She really likes teasing him and Sabo, though. Uta might adore Sanji but that doesn't mean she isn't a little bit mean to him. It's obvious that they like like each other because, you know, they're kids. Look at them. It's obvious. Uta knows, Luffy knows, Ace knows... Sabo and Sanji spend so much time alone and Sabo always tries to be next to him and he looks at Sanji with like, literal heart eyes.

Uta: Do you like Sanji? Sabo: Sanji? No. No. No. Sanji's just a friend... Uta: Why are your eyes shaped like hearts? Sabo: Allergies...

Uta is an artist. A singer. She's 100% a hopeless romantic. I will die on this hill. So while Ace is extremely "ughhhh" *disgusted noises* by Sanji and Sabo's flirting and Luffy couldn't care less (he just likes teasing them because it's fun to see them panicking), Uta tries HARD to get them together. They're listening to her songs? She will sing a romantic one. They're alone? She will gently push one of them closer to the other. They eat spaghetti once and she goes all the way to try to do the thing where they eat the same one so they kiss. Etc etc etc. She won't stop being a little brat about it too, teasing both of them. And it's driving Sabo crazy. Makino asks Uta about the kids because she knows the girl is as invested as her in the relationship. Funniest thing in the world.

Now I can't stop thinking about them spearating when Sabo dies, following what we said etc etc etc And Uta becomes a famous singer. She doesn't kill anybody, okay? Let's leave it on her just- Doing a huge concert. Sanji and Sabo have already reunited but please, imagine these two not dating just yet. They're in love and pining but not dating. Everyone hates it. And then Sabo joins them for the concert, ofc, and when Uta sees them again (and sees Sabo is alive?? Because what the fuck why didn't they tell her???) one of the first thing she says is "Okay, okay... So you two are... You know?" and they don't understand what she's saying but literally all the crew is like "They're still pining. Please. It's awful". Girl makes it everyone's problem so she does this kiss cam thing to get them together finally. Like I said, good ending.

You know as a former member of Vivziepop's cult and yes its a cult not a fandom anymore I am disgusted by a majority of the people in it.

Like someone on the subreddit brought up it being kinda tasteless or fucked that they sold sexy Stella merch in bdsm gear when she's abused Stolas physically. The post was deleted quickly and judging by my experiences in the fandom people were stanning Viv or harassing OP and that has got me thinking.

Why is Stella in bdsm gear? Like Stolas and Blitzo are canonically into it yet you give the abuser that...

Like isn't a bit fucked that instead of choosing the canonical practicioners in your show you choose to put someone who uses pain not to pleasure but to slowly break and hurt someone.

We know Vivziepop has a merch rep so how did that get into production?

I also find it fucked that Vivziepop and crew are attempting to tackle an issue as serious as domestic abuse and do it so poorly by writing Stolas and Stella as bickering children next we see them. Then the staff has the utter gawl to sell merch in general of Stella and the fans buying it up.

Like I understand autograph signings slightly but that's the only merch Stella should have.

Vivziepop's cult loves to claim that they utterly depise Stella and deserves to suffer because she's an abuser so how dare people want nuance or not just a generically evil cartoon villain but the moment she is drawn in a sexy way they start throwing money at that.

Like I just want to know how these people if their friends ask about the character on the pin will explain "Oh this is Stella who's a sexy domestic abuser"

Then again am I surprised when Vivziepop makes merch of a rapist and most of the crew have some weird fascination with Valentino and not in the way that he's their best written villain way more like they are simping over him.

I think a lot of fandoms, especially nowadays, have a lot of genuinely bad people who really need help/therapy but see nothing wrong in what they do or just keep doing that, though they know it ain't okay. That's so frustrating when you can't feel comfortable even in an Internet community. But Viv's "fandom"(I mean exactly these two shows, although Zoophobia also had...... not very pleasant people) is surely something... Where'd you find so many blatantly oblivious and blind brown nosers which keep pretending everything's good when there's already tons of red flags from Vivienne? Yeah, that's a rare case. I don't wanna interact with this fandom or even talk about it, tbh. I still watch the show cuz it's fun to see how it manages to be worse with every episode, though sometimes I don't make reviews as many other people do it faster and better and I just have nothing to say(I need to take my jaw from the floor). Regarding Stella – well, I don't know on what principles Viv or her team makes merch with the characters, but aren't all characters being sexualized anyway? They even have merch with Chaz, a guy who, like, died in the same episode. And they keep doing new merch with this jerk. And that's obviously because there are people who simp for him. I don't know if Stella's merch may be an insult to those who practice BDSM, I'm not into it, tbh, and I don't take these things seriously, but I find this just a bland sexualisation. Well, it's "sexy merch", but yeah, Stella's all character is based on being a mean aggressive yelling bitch, and this thing....... it must be a character trait, I guess? Or just a sweet treat for rule34 artists, like most of the stuff Viv does. Again, I don't take all of this seriously, this sexy merch was made to tease and please the simping fans, but there's certainly a part of irony in it. Like, people in this fandom hate Stella so much that they shit on people who simply want her to be a more complex character, and they're........ still buying all this stuff. They........ enjoy Stella being "hot dommy mommy" and still keep hating her? Ngl, only Viv's fanbase can do that, lol. I've seen this fandom from the start and I can say that many people here always had some weird obsession with Valentino. I even remember some person passive aggressively telling me that "he's just very charismatic and it's your problems if you can't see it". When there were, like........ A musical clip and a comic where he just was being an abusive jerk. Yeah, that's a really weird fascination. Also, doesn't one of HH's crew, who is an animator or a director(don't remember correctly), has a rape fetish and has drawn an animatic on their beloved ship Angel/Val? Hella ironic that a show about serious portrayal of trauma and abuse has a crew member(or members) which legit....... find it hot or cute. That's sick af but I guess Viv doesn't care who she hires. Oh, that's definitely not a pit I would like to fall in. I'm not sure there's any hope on Hazbin portraying trauma or mental illnesses properly, but I'll still watch it anyway. Whenever it comes out....

Merlin: Yes, he can! Tbh it depends on circumstance and who his partner is, but fortunately Charlie’s usually there to be the opposite of a wingman if someone starts getting insistent about it.

Charlie: No, he can’t lol, due to the obvious. Even when he’s in a human form because of shapeshifting, he can’t. (Just imagine Jim’s goofy dancing in Trollhunters.) He doesn’t care because there’s never a situation where he needs to dance. If he could, he probably wouldn’t like to anyway.

42. If they have siblings, do they like any of them? Would they rather be an only child?

Merlin: He has one sibling, Ganieda! Some of the lore do be outdated on that post I’m sorry 😭 Him being the god of magic made him age one physical year every five chronological years, and by the time he was twelve physically and 64 chronologically, she’d been immortal and married to her wife, Vivian, for… eh 30 years?? 💀 She kind of had a problem of treating him like a child because he looked like one, even though he was older than her (two years older; that’s a little inside joke for an upcoming oneshot lol.) But eventually she realized the truth, and she was surprised but accepting of her brother’s transition when he came out to her. Sure, they still bicker a lot and Charlie and Vivian sometimes have to intercede, but they do both love each other, in the end. They both know that, even if they don’t say it aloud. They also both would die for the other and still refuse to let them borrow something. Classic sibling behavior.

Charlie: Tbh I’ve been flip-flopping on giving him a long list sibling for a while… idk if I’ll do it or not lol (I hate my indecisiveness help) I’ve also thought of him having the sibling, but possibly never knowing about them since he doesn’t care about finding out what happened to his parents after they abandoned him. (But I don’t know and I’m holding my head in my hands) However, here are his parents: Rachel and Alwyn. Female dragons are bigger than their male counterparts! They may look cool but they suck. And I know they don’t really look similar to him (who’s the bottom two pictures for anyone new), but that’s the wonders of dragon genetics (source: I made it the fuck up)

Hey sorry to bother you again, but you mention theres some difference from the donghua and the novel of land of miracles, can you tell me about those?? thank you very much

Hey! It‘s genuinely not a bother omg I always love to talk about them so feel free to send me asks whenever :D

Alright so funny thing is I‘d planned to do a comprehensive list sometime ago but I never got to it so I‘ll just do it now ahaha

- The biggest difference is the physical intimacy between Fa Hua and Lan Ge due to censorship. In the novels, they consistently hold hands from start to finish every time they need to power up and use the abilities of the Peerless Bead together. But of course the censorship couldn‘t have that, so all we got was them occasionally grabbing each other‘s wrists or touching palms in place of a hand hold 😩 it‘s better than nothing, but yeah…I just absolutely love how the grew so used to it over time and that holding hands is the norm but…oh well

- Another huge difference is how Hongbao was much less targeted as a „potential love interest“ in the novel. The donghua most likely did that to make sure it isn‘t too gay or the censorship will get their ass 😔💔 that scene in episode 36 where they talked about Hongbao while they were drunk doesn‘t exist in the novel, instead we had this iconic ambiguous af scene that made me go 🤨🏳️‍🌈⁉️:

You could interpret this scene in many ways, but what was most important to me is that by this point, both of them already accepted that they may be connected for the rest of their lives and are okay with it. Compare that to LG fussing over this and being disgusted at the start qwq and FH who was so against this bc he didn’t want to feel whatever LG was feeling now simply laughing at the notion and teasing LG, I just— *sOBs* MAN. They make so me insane. OTL You can interpret this scene a million ways and most of them does not have any hetero explanation like- JDFKDJDKSJK

No wonder that when they actually do adapt this scene later on (oh and they split this scene in two in the donghua), they changed Fa Hua‘s dialogues to be less ambiguous and even Lan Ge‘s to (again) circle back to „the girls“ even though that never happened in the novel lolol

Like I said, definitely to make sure the censorship doesn‘t shoot them down 😭 and to probably balance out the gayness in the next ep LOL (episode 37, my beloved…). Alas, some things had to give just so they can keep the other iconic scenes where they were mistaken for a couple and LG calling FH his boyfriend in front of his parents :“) even then the donghua diluted some things too ahaha (but at the same time made the scene more sweet too ???? Bless u donghua team ur a hit or miss but when u hit it‘s *chefs kiss*)

- The mention of Hongbao was also only added in the end as an afterthought, framed more as FH worrying over someone who literally sacrificed her life for them. Not only that, they actually also changed how Hongbao got the life stone from the Green Sea of Life. In the novel, she snatched it from them when she searched their bodies after they failed to run from her. In the donghua, they gave it to her after she protected them from the Heavenly Devils in episode 34.

- Lan Ge‘s personality in the donghua is a lot more…exaggerated? Probably to accentuate his cuteness ahaha so I‘m not gonna complain, but LG is a lot less…stupid in the novel JDJDJDK he still has his clumsy and stupid moments, but usually FH‘s there to knock him down a peg or two LOL

Tbh I like the donghua‘s interpretation of LG a lot, but what I wish they didn‘t change was him canonically having a beautiful singing voice. It‘s in his name dammit!! (蓝歌 = Blue Song). I wish we got to see him sing more qwq granted he doesn‘t even sing that much in the novel either but…I wish they showed him singing well in the donghua instead of what we got…

- They also showed much less bickering and banter between FH and LG in the donghua :( it‘s one of my fav moments of them in the novel, but I get why they had to cut it (screentime constraints and all that). But I reaally wish they kept FH‘s sassiness and bluntness with others too…like this man is absolutely ruthless especially with LG when it comes to dissing LOL but it also extends to other people he doesn’t like like Shenglian and Xiao Zhan. It‘s honestly insane how much they held back in the donghua 😭👏👏👏 I drew one of the funniest interactions of them here ahaha

- Fa Hua’s personality largely stayed the same, but the donghua did make him more…easily flustered around women who show interest in him ? In the novel he‘s actually quite dismissive and has a huge idgaf energy…😭 this is probably one of my biggest gripes with the donghua dhdjdhd but to be fair they also made him softer around LG too so I guess you win some you lose some LOL

The scenes in question were when Big Golden Goat Lady (who btw, they also made her to be all flustered when talking abt marriage??? When in the novel she was very matter-of-fact and pointedly not shy whatsoever, mainly focused on how FH would be an asset to her clan lol, and saying how marrying him would dilute the purity of the clan), LG teased FH about it and all FH did was glance at him and say „Childish.“ to him telepathically without all the embarrassed fussing lol. Oh and they also removed this dialogue between FH & LG,,, they‘re so damn silly bro i can‘t omfg

And another scene they excluded in the donghua was a scene where they were working together with the Five Commanders in the Thunder Legion. FH chose to work together with the only female Commander, Leng Lan, and she obviously didn‘t trust him. But only reason for this is bc she and her brigade was the only one he was familiar with bc they met them already and LG told him about her brigade earlier 😭 that and he was confident in his abilities regardless of who he chose ahaha

(I kid you not…FH smiled and laughed so much because of LG in this arc. Specifically, after That Hug Scene in episode 31/chapter 118…I had to stop reading bc my heart was so full lmao. I am so SO glad the donghua absolutely nailed this development bc the amount of times FH smiled/laughed bc of LG in S3 is twice as much as S1-S2 combined qwq <3)

Idk it just feels like to me that TJSS was reaallly hammering down how FH isn‘t interested in any of the female characters at all throughout the entire book 😭👏👏 like the female cast aside from Hongbao (and Shenglian) were mostly there to drive the plot forward + world building.

It‘s like a subverted harem where the main male chars are surrounded by women who want to marry them but also not bc they aren‘t even interested in them and just need something from FH & LG lmao (the tiger sisters wanting to piss off their dad, golden goat wanted someone as strong as her to help her clan, Shenglian wanted the Peerless Bead).

I love how it shows how each of these female characters have their own ambition and aren‘t just there as „potential love interest“ for the boys but also show FH and LG‘s lack of interest 👍 it‘s a nice change from the usual ahaha. To be fair I do think the donghua managed to show this too, but the novel did it much better imo

- Another scene they changed slightly was the scene where they saw each other naked JDNFJDK and yes in the novel they had no clothing whatsoever lol and LG didn‘t have emergency clothes for them (that was only bc of censorship lolol)

FH‘s reaction was also quite different from the novel ahaha he was much more…crazy ???? Mad. Furious. Yes HDNFJFKDK-

He already apologized once like in the donghua, but they didn‘t immediately make up and needed some time to cool off by themselves bc FH literally beat LG up immediately 😭😭😭 LG was initially gonna let FH beat him up without much complaint bc he felt guilty, but then FH just didn‘t seem to be stopping and grew madder so they ended up beating each other up and wrestling JFNFDNDJK

"I'm sorry." Fahua's voice was a little hoarse.

Lan Ge was stunned for a moment. It had been a long time since they knew each other. This was the first time he heard Fahua actually apologize.

"The body, hair and skin are given to the parents. According to the tradition of our jurisdiction, except for the parents, the body cannot be seen by others casually."

"Then what would happen if I saw it?" Lan Ge asked curiously.

Fahua glanced at him, "Not much."

(this almost makes NO sense bc he was SO friggin mad that he thought LG saw him naked bc of his domain‘s traditions and apparently it meant nothing ??????? Nah. Nah man. I refuse to believe that LOL I mean you could argue this was the first time anyone‘s ever seen him naked which is why he overreacted that way but omg 😭 my intuition is saying sth else is at play…maybe he was angry the thought of being forced to marry LG HAHAAHKDJSK or maybe this is how he reacts when he‘s embarrased, or maybe all of the above :3 who knows. We already know nudity is one of the few things that can crack his stoicness ahaha)

LMAOOO WHY ARE THEY LIKE THISSSS

also LG crying out bc he didn‘t want to be the woman „why can‘t you be the woman?“ and FH‘s just like „can we not talk about this?“ while pouting ????? Ohmygoodjdjdh 😭👌💕💕💕

And of course, there‘s the scene where Lu Ying found them naked back in the house in the Green Sea of Life and just casually told them to continue what they were doing LMAOOOO I WISH THAT WAS ADAPTED BUT I GET WHY IT ISNT SHJDHSJS

- Hongbao is also quite different in the novel, and the Director actually admitted that they changed her to be slightly softer in the donghua. She was much more stoic and doesn‘t comprehend human culture like boyfriend-girlfriend, she’s colder and aloof even till the end of the book after she was reborn as a human girl. She only started to understand human emotions after she turned into a human at the end of the book.

- Hongbao‘s scene after the final battle with LG‘s parents were much, MUCH better in the novel. A lot of fans actually (rightfully) complained on weibo bc it was nothing like in the novel, instead the donghua snuck in another „come be LG‘s potential wife!“ joke even though by that point Hongbao was obviously intended to be more like family to FH & LG and learn how to be human through them and their families. In the novel it was only Xiangyun who mentioned that (bc Lan Xiang have always been more lax when it comes to LG marrying) and it wasn‘t done in an exaggerated manner either:

It‘s one of my fav scenes especially with Hongbao and I too was so upset they didn‘t include it :“) bc Xiangyun showing Hongbao warmth of a mother and family is so so important to her development as a character 😭💖 and seeing FH and LG as her family…sigh. Alas…

- Lan Ge‘s kindness

We know LG is a kindhearted person despite his flaws—FH wouldn‘t have loved him if he wasn‘t lol. But there are some scenes they didn‘t include in the novel that really show his consideration especially towards FH and explains why FH slowly warmed up and opened up to him.

For example after they met again at the Tri-Domain Competition, LG was shocked when he found out FH didn‘t have a place to stay and begrudgingly (but still willingly) planned to pay for his hotel room so he wouldn‘t have to sleep on the streets :“) Obviously they ended up not getting a single room bc it was all booked (they were so close to a "there was only one bed" situation damn…) but they did end up sharing a tent HAHAHA (eventually anyway when LG finally stops being a petty ass lmao)

And there was this scene after they started training together in earnest:

(P. S. LG sweetie wdym you‘ve always been observing him every day that you know his habits and that he takes a bath everyday (this was mentioned in an earlier chapter haha) 😄😄😄 sweetheart…

Oh the scene in the donghua where LG followed FH and saw him bathe before accidentally falling into the pool didn’t happen in the novel ahaha but it’s a welcome addition :3 I do think the donghua does a better job at showing LG being in denial about his attraction to men Fa Hua and it‘s sooo nice to especially see it in the deleted scenes ahaha)

But yeah, FH seeing how LG is actually quite generous and kind despite his brashness and arrogance, willing to pay for his hotel room bc he was about to sleep on the streets and considerate enough to get FH something to eat because he noticed FH was broke and ate nothing but crackers everyday…whose heart wouldn‘t be warmed by this ??? 🥹

And this scene after they met the Big Golden Goat and she treated them to the fish they caught:

The way LG—who complained nonstop about having to eat the bland crackers throughout the trip at sea—willingly ate it without complaints OR FH asking bc he didn‘t want to mess up FH‘s cultivation ?????????????:):):€/)/&-&-&

LIKE,,,, imagine this from FH‘s perspective: the person who obviously has a big appetite and loves to eat and is never against complaining his discomfort quietly follows your lead and only consumes the thing you‘re allowed to eat in solidarity without complaint and because he was afraid of messing your cultivation. If that isn‘t an act of love idk what is 😭💖💕💕 their love language really is acts of service ahaha

And FH being the little shit that he is (and obviously happy and touched at this gesture from LG) just never told him until that very second LOLLLL I love them so much byeeee OTL

- The scene that the donghua actually built upon is the scene in episode 34 when they had to part ways after basically being stuck together for 3 years qwq I absolutely LOVE the donghua‘s version omg and they nailed the quiet affection they have for each other and the discomfort of having to physically separate and be away from one another 😭💔

Fahua stood on the shore until the ripples left by Lan Ge dissipated, then turned and walked in the direction of the City of Wisdom.

Ever since they had the relationship of Wushuangzhu, they were together most of the time, and they were somewhat uncomfortable when they suddenly separated. In fact, it is impossible for them to be truly separated. Whether it is cultivation or spiritual communication, they maintain an extremely close connection.

- ok I’m gonna start talking about scenes from the last arc bc this is another scene that I hold so dear to my heart and absolutely gutted me when I realized they didn‘t have enough time to fit it in qwq

Any scene that starts with "Night fell" in the novel, you know it‘s gonna be sweet as hell 👌

Just- this whole scene + BBQ scene deserves a whole episode alone man 😭💔 but alas…

FH who‘s smiling more and loves messing with LG and LG who‘s grown so comfortable with FH and wants to show him the things he loves…we could‘ve had it all…

- Another scene they sadly couldn‘t fit in the donghua was this scene after the BBQ scene. Honestly I have no complaints bc the donghua made the scene even cuter than the novel, but it lacked the sheer hilarity of their interaction and FH trolling LG HAHAHAHA

Oh and in the novel, the BBQ scene is the first time FH drank alcohol, not just eat meat! I thought I should mention that bc I felt it important to his character development and relationship growth with LG :D bc FH has always avoided alcohol bc of its side effects, but he felt safe enough to drink and let go with LG at his side;;

Anyways here‘s the scene of FH being an absolute troll (and LG getting his revenge for all his bullying only for it to backfire LOL):

And another scene after they realized the Heavenly Demons have arrived where FH immediately told LG "I understand. I'll stay with you." They did keep a part of this dialogue but not all :“) which is a shame bc it gave us an insight on how they felt at that moment in time.

Basically LG called out to FH in his heart and FH replied faintly "There‘s no need to say words of gratitude." bc he could tell LG was so, so grateful he stayed just for him even though they should be running away, but at this point, their relationship was already beyond that. So instead LG deflected and said "For the sake of your willingness to stay with me, let's forget about the beef tongue just now!"

And Fa Hua only replied with:

"Speaking as if I can live if you die." Fa Hua's body paused for a moment before he accelerated again and headed straight for Thunder City.

Lan Ge was a little dazed while speeding up. Why did this guy's words seem inconsistent? Could it be that he was also a little nervous?

Like…omg OTL I really wish they kept this bc there‘s a lot of unspoken stuff between them and I love it qwq

- Even though the donghua did sneak in a really funny scene of LG‘s parents suspecting LG actually being in a relationship with FH and going „No way…right?“ in the novel they actually explored it more even if just a bit ahaha

It just showed how his parents would be totally okay with him being in love with FH as long as he either took on the job or got married LMAO

- "I would love the whole world for you."

「为了你我愿意热爱整个世界。」

They actually managed to reference this line in the donghua for a split second ahaha and I loooveee how they used "and the most important one…is you." in place of that bc I literally lost my mind during that scene BDNDBDK BUT !!! I wanted to talk about the significance of this line and why they had to remove it due to censorship.

This line "For you, I would love the whole world" was the name of the chapter (Ch 164), and it is also the name of the autobiography by the author Tang Jia San Shao/TJSS, where he narrates the 16-year love story between him and his (now late) wife, how their friendship and love persist over the years. The fact that he used this specific line for FH & LG is so— OTL it just shows how he wanted the readers to know that the love between FH & LG runs deep and changed them both for the better, how important they are to each other. That and…his wife passed away due to cancer while he was writing this novel. I will forever be grateful to him for still pushing through despite the obvious grief he lived in and wish him nothing but the best;;

Here‘s the scene from the novel:

While it is true that the ultimate law of fire is warmth, they were much more upfront of the true nature: THEY USED THE POWER OF LOVE !!!!! It‘s so clinche and corny and I love it so friggin much 🥹💖💕💕

And the way LG was all like „For whom do you love? For whom?!" as though he’s daring FH to say it outloud and FH not even denying it,,, them not wanting to acknowledge it bc obviously it‘s EACH OTHER 😭✨ man,,,, my embarrassed bbys ilysm 🥰

TJSS had no intention of being subtle in the novel that they do love each other—the nature of the love is intentionally kept vague so we can interpret it however we want, but the fact that they‘re also clearly written as soulmates is so— *chef‘s kiss*

We also got to see them hug nonconsensually aka forced by the Peerless Bead and they were like „ewwww get off!!!“ afterwards as if they’ve never hugged before (remember FH comforting LG with a hug…and LG hugging FH’s thigh…yea…) LOL it was so silly of them dhsjshajajah

- Chapter 118/Episode 31: "Good boy."

Saving this for last because it‘s 1) my favorite, most beloved scene in the entire book and 2) the donghua actually nailed it 100% and made it even better. Pretty sure all the budget went to that episode omg 😭🫶✨ which is so real of them bc it‘s THE most crucial scene in the whole book, especially when it comes to LG & FH‘s relationship. It created a very subtle shift in their dynamic in that…they know now. They know how much they matter to each other. Not just bc they could feel each other‘s emotions, but because of their actions.

In the novel, FH was willing to sacrifice his cultivation in order for them to survive, in order for LG to avenge his parents, and when LG saw FH…LG saw the back of his mother as she was sacrificing herself for him, and he snapped. The donghua turned it even more emotional and dramatic by making them nearly lose their lives but it works, bc it still followed the core of the narrative.

All that matters is for us to know just how important this was to them, and to show how LG who was passively suicidal defy death bc he wanted FH to live. That he didn‘t want FH to sacrifice himself like his parents did. And FH now knew just how much LG cares about him too qwq sigh. Man. This scene was done so incredibly beautifully and respectfully, and for that alone I‘m willing to overlook all the other flaws of the donghua ahaha

Here‘s my favorite excerpt from the novel:

Fahua felt the holy power in his body like a blowout, and felt the blank ninth page of the god-given code slowly opened. He lowered his head, looked at Lan Ge who was hugging his thigh in a daze, raised his hand, and gently stroked his head, subconsciously said: "Good boy! (乖!)"

Lan Ge suddenly let go of his arms as if he had been struck by electricity and jumped up in an instant, "Good boy, my ass!"

But Fahua laughed, with a gentle and happy smile, and surprisingly didn't diss him again.

Lan Ge also laughed, yes, they succeeded,

You remember how gentle FH is around children right? And he would often praise them with "乖" when they hug his thigh and clamour around him…I think LG definitely reminded him of them in that moment, clutching tightly to him, desperately, because he didn‘t want to lose him at all. He‘s so irrevocably fond of him and they love each other so SO much I just— *collapses*

FH‘s always been very gentle and patient with LG (when he‘s not being a bully and manhandling him lolol) especially in the face of his grief, and it all came to a head in this scene, where LG was struck with the fear of losing FH and being left behind again, where he was forced to be honest with his feelings and have it reach FH…god this scene is so peak. And the donghua did it perfectly.

Anywho hmm…I think I got all the important differences hmmm I can‘t fit in any more images anyway but if I did forget some (and I‘m sure i have lmao) I‘ll just add it under a reblog or sth :D

I do think the novel does a good job at keeping their relationship relatively vague and ambiguous while still catering to danmei enjoyers and keeping itself genuine and true to itself haha.

I heard TJSS actually wanted to write a BL but he realized it wasn‘t working out the way he wanted so he changed his mind and we ended up with this gem XD and honestly I wouldn‘t have it any other way bc that‘s what makes FH & LG so special to me (but that‘s just me).

(Plus censorship has been growing even more strict sadly and in a way…it‘s a good thing Shenlan Qiyu isn‘t a „true“ BL bc we might not have gotten 3 seasons worth of content in that case in this day and age 😭💔 ughhh)

KiNiCH : I was immediately drawn to him by his eyes... like hello!? this is illegal to be that gorgeous and make my heart squeeze so hard man!! I find his reserved nature to be pretty attractive, he is good at his job too and I absolutely love when he expressed how much he cares about those who manages to get close cuz good day my lordy, I'm not okay after meeting this man @w@ also I absolutely love watching him bickering with jaw cuz they reminded me of me and my friend lol

DAN HENG : truth betold, I got exposed by my friends when I first saw him before hsr was released because all of them told me "ya, I can see why you would like him" LIKE PLS, I FELT SO CALLED OUT ABOUT WHAT KIND OF GUY I LIKE AHHH. DAN HENG : both of us are generally quiet people and don't go out often so we naturally get along but it's mostly just me being unhinged yapping while he would be focusing on something else, he likes the way i think and didn't mind about his past. these three i do be rotating in my brain a LOT. (also tagging @void-botanist cuz you mentioned in your ask wanting to hear about some of the saith stuff! so this is some of it lmaoo)

so for general context for the three of them:

PIPER is an orphan (heavy asterisks but that's backstory and plot relevant stuff LOL) who grew up in the city of kingsburrow. she decided that she would make a name for herself and decided to join guilds (with zero formal training mind you) and epically failed her guild exam the first time she tried to take it. this is when she meets SIR KEEVAN (who is a full-fledged knight) and SAITH (keevan's protégé and a page) who are in easthollow (the guild city where the guild exams take place) on some business. the two of them end up extending their stay and devote a year to actually teaching piper a LOT of things from better combat techniques to lathsburian history, the works. and the three of them get close!! so without further ado.... all the ships:

PIPER / KEEVAN (status: canon... ish)

so this ship is technically THE canon one of the bunch. technically the beginning of tcol starts with these three and its very very evident that keevan and piper have the hots for each other they're flirting out the GATE. however, keevan has a particular sort of "reputation": as a strong, kind, charismatic and dashingly handsome knight so so many people are chasing after his affections and swooning over him at every step, but piper doesn't want to be just another damsel to him, she wants to stand on equal ground to him, and she doesn't feel like she'll be able to do that until she becomes a knight of her own merit. keevan really admires piper's reckless passion and drive (though he sometimes worries because she is Very Reckless LMAO), and she's not like anyone else he's ever talked to. she doesn't view him as Sir Keevan the knight in shining armor or the respected officer or an object. she views him as keevan, a man she respects but just a man, and one that she wants him to be able to rely on her just as much as she'll rely on him. whenever the two of them are together its kind of like no one else exists (saith lowkey ends up third wheeling HARD a lot of the time, rip poor baby). a lot of their teases come from keevan flirting with piper and piper playfully rejecting his advances, but both of them know she's into it lol. she gets super pissed whenever people flirt with him esp in front of her and she's not shy about making a big deal about it LOL. though obvs people will remind her that they "aren't together" but tbh they're basically together.

however... they never do actually make their relationship official..... for reasons.......

PIPER / SAITH (status: canonically one sided)

piper and saith are best friends tbh. both of them are studying under keevan (though saith has more formal training than piper), the two of them tend to bicker playfully, saith is the voice of reason and steers piper away from yknow. violence when its not necessary. he acts like he's exasperated with her but really piper makes him laugh. piper loves being around saith because she loves teasing him and she's on his level so she feels comfortable going to him for advice and spars with him the most often to test her skills (and saith never goes easy on her lol). but the only "wrench" in this is saith develops a crush on her... pretty quickly. but because he's close to both her and to keevan, he keeps it to himself for like. so long. he's content to watch the two of them be happy and tries to avoid getting sad or upset about it because at the end of the day he loves both of them, they're the most important people to him. and even though pipes and keevan never get together, saith never tries to shoot his shot out of respect for both of them, he can't bring himself to. as far as he's aware and hopes, he never wants piper to know how he feels about her. and thankfully for him, she's not the most observant.

SAITH / KEEVAN (status: crackship)

its the teacher/student boss/subordinate relationship to me ok like its just kinda Hot. saith and keevan have known each other for at least 7 years, and saith has been training under keevan as a knight for a good while. saith feels like he'll never measure up to keevan because even though keevan works hard everything seems so effortless to him?? he can clear dozens of enemies or foes with a single sword strike, he's the perfect noble and everyone relies on him... and saith is just the seventh son of his family. no one expects anything out of him and he has a hard time believing in this "potential" that keevan keeps talking about that he sees in him. meanwhile, before saith keevan never took on a protege. he admires how saith is extremely humble and because of that he's very teachable. he doesn't have "natural talent" he's just a hard worker and that's better. plus, because a lot of knights do tend to be nobles (or end up staying in low positions if they're not of high birth) saith being a down to earth person is really refreshing. a lot of people don't realize that keevan is constantly putting on a performance for people. yes, he is charismatic and dependable and charming, but people Expect it of him and he never has a break to... not have to do that if that makes sense. saith is someone who he feels like he doesn't have to put on that much of a performance for, and eventually gets to a point where yes keevan is saith's senior, but they're close friends. he tells saith more of how he feels than anyone else. and i think that closeness could've very very easily sparked something More tm if saith wasn't so "i'm not much" energy didn't exist lol.

SAITH / KEEVAN / PIPER (status: crackship aka perfect world ot3)

REALISTICALLY THE THREE OF THEM WOULD BE A REALLY GOOD THROUPLE FOR A LOT OF REASONS. saith is the voice of reason and the milder one between keevan's optimism and piper's recklessness. keevan has people he can be himself around and who he depends on without feeling like he can't ever be real with them. piper has people who value and understand her and appreciate her strength and want to grow with her. THEY WOULD'VE ALL BEEN SO GOOD TOGETHER BUT FUCKING.... ALAS......

okay I'm just making one random tangled post

I've seen a lot of people here criticize Unknighted Dream (Rapunzel/Eugene/Cass) and tbh I do understand their complaints about the ship (even though it's kinda my comfort ship rn,,,)

and just like them i don't really like the most common interpretation of the ship that you see on AO3, being just "well Rapunzel has two hands and she has a healthy relationship with both while Eugene and Cass are just good friends"

I also think that this relationship model wouldn't work, first on Eugene's side because Rapunzel is literally his entire LIFE for the past three years and now you tell him well now share??? he would feel insecure at best and threatened at worse lol

And Cass would also feel really insecure? Like she KNOWS how much Raps and Eugene love each other,,,

And we should also mention the fact that Cass and Eugene are literally rivals??? They often have a hard time standing each other. Even though they've already really started to work that out by the end of season 3 i do think this kind of relationship would just,,, add fuel to the fire

And tbh at this point it just feels like ppl writing fics about them are just the Cassunzel shippers who don't want to divert from canon mol

BUT everyone seems to forget that Raps isn't the only one with two hands?

Like ofc it wouldn't happen all of a sudden, but Eugene and Cassandra having serious talks without making fun of each other, slowly coming to an understanding, becoming closer as friends at first, then starting to develop feelings for each other as they keep up their almost constant bickering, but it becomes more light-hearted and playful and flirtatious.

I could see them falling in love eventually and while it might not solve every single problem BUT it would help so much with the whole insecurity thing.

Please give us more Cassgene focused fics AO3 and let them gush together about their girlfriend after some good emotional connection-making.

TLDR; For me the only way for Unknighted Dream to work is Cassgene falling in love for one another (or at least in some sort of VERY intimate queerplatonic relationship)

But also I'm fine with New Dream + aroace Cass so, y'know. I just need more of Cassandra and Eugene having serious, honest and emotional talks with each other.

i used to go here a while back even though i wasn’t rlly a proper larrie (complicated lol). at one point i started talking mad shit about them and everyone hated me only for me to come back and see how different people move now. womp womp :/ i genuinely feel like everyone dislikes them a teeny tiny bit, it’s weird to see. back then it was a big deal if you got away with a tad bit of criticism and anyone who was proper bitter was ousted into a small corner of this site where they stayed bitter with their anons. and it was also like 3 people. now im checking random blogs and literally everyone has some shady thing to say. DESERVED tbh. leaving before I say more. sorry if this is annoying or unnecessary. i just wanted to say it 😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️

I mean… if you’ve been following closer, they have been clearly very hard on larries for a while. Take Harry for example. This past summer he made his life purpose to destroy all things larries used as… something lol blue bandana? Here, X*nder have it. Sweet creature? It’s for Gemma and he said it in front of 90K people which was very humiliating imo. Umbro shirt? Listen, he’ll have it for a pap walk he will have to promote his brand and yall like bluegreen nail polish. And the last one, the one people willingly ignore, he has O*ivia name tattooed on his INNER THIGH. I dont think it gets worse than this lol do I even have to mention the biking sessions to promote a theatre play or…?

Louis has been a dickhead on twitter since he was in the band. Yesterday he was even more of a dickhead than he used to. If he wants to be the third Gallagher brother he should be asking them first. He was unnecessarily rude with everyone and with the chicken parmesan thing he showed to me he doesn’t even read the tweets or whatever issue with reading comprehension he has going on.

The good thing about social media instead of live or interviews is that you can take your time to write down some articulated response and that you happen to choose what you reply to.

He announced he was going to do this thing 24 hours prior, went online and treated everyone with sufficiency. Totally unprovoked. Can you see how prepared this was? That makes it even worse because he is acting like this on purpose and everyone knows it. Like what’s the point of doing that speech on stage everyone gets so emotional for if you go online and bicker with your fans? They’re not taken for granted when they buy your tickets, but when they tweet constantly about you and keep you relevant on social they’re? This tells a lot to me.

The problem is he wants to deny what he created (he mentioned the recipe even for walls promo) but he puts a target on larries’ back as always, because his fans can be unreasonably nasty and the pop world hates larries already they don’t waste a minute to start alienating them, insult them and bully them out of the safe space they have created for themselves. It’s the marketing they have chosen, their propaganda.

It’s weird when accounts with huge following interact with this part of fandom, because they never do it to “protect” them. We’re talking about a loud, mostly queer and young side of his fandom… I wonder what would happen if larries finally decided to turn their backs at them (which I encourage to do). Yes, there still might be a target on them but at least it wouldn’t be like that. I’m pretty out of the fandom, barely talk about them but I still follow some blogs so I know a few things. I’ve realised I’m not comfortable anymore here. I still want to write a few stories because it’s fun and I like the exercise but that’s going to be it.

I'll start with Merlin - He is loyal to a fault. That within the series is both a strength and a weakness. When he loves, he loves hard. Also a strength and a weakness. Merlin is brave, caring, and selfless. I see these as strengths...well the selfless part maybe not so much...because he took it a bit far sometimes, didn't he? He sacrificed his own well being for others (especially Arthur) multiple times. I'm having a hard time to come up with things that are JUSt a weakness. I feel like almost everything about him was both. Except this: Merlin was so nice. Just unbelievably kind. That's definitely a strength.

Arthur - He was obviously brave and heroic. The bravery especially was sort of his baseline. Over time, Arthur became noble and kindhearted. In the beginning he was very self-centered. Once he met Merlin, things started changing for the better.

As for their dynamic, I love their love for one another (whatever way you view them, they loved each other, be it romantically or platonically) and the devotion they share. Their bickering they do. Really there's not much I don't love about them, lol. I am not sure I can correctly put it into words the way other people can.

As for fave characters!! this is easier!! i will just do a top 5 because otherwise I'll be here all night because I can find something to love about everyone, even Uther.

Merlin and Arthur are equally in first place. I cannot choose between them and you can't make me!

Gwen. I *LOVE* Gwen. She is just so amazing in every single way!!! especially love her in the early seasons!!!

Gaius. I know this is a bit controversial as a lot of people have things against Gaius but I genuinely love him.

Lancelot. I Love him so much :))

Morgana- Her arc was amusing for me. I love her in every season. I just wish there was a bit more knowledge on her relationship with Aithusa (like how she knew her name???) and a bit more of a reason BEHIND her turn to the darkness. I could go on for ages. She was under used in the series for a lot of reasons though. I also never understood how she went from like thinking servants were equals to basically mocking their existence though. I wish they hadn't done that. I know weird thing to say given EVERYTHING. but yeah.

Moments???? I don't even know where to begin. Of course the typical, Merlin and Arthur first meeting. Arthur's battle speech moves me EVERY time, tears EVERYWHERE. As well as his death scene. I love the scene in The Moment of Truth where Arthur tells Merlin he'll do his own armor. Or really almost any moment from that episode (it's one of my top 5 episodes tbh) The scene after Uther dies and Merlin is waiting for Arthur. Mordred telling Morgana that Merlin and Emrys. (that is honestly the bigger betrayal between that and him killing Arthur, in my opinion.) again i could go on, i love this show so so much. Hopefully you're satisfied with my response! ⭐️ for Gasoline and Spin! (two of my favs)

Gasoline is something that I started writing for a different fandom, about a billion years ago, and for some reason it suddenly gave me Klaroline vibes. I love a good musicians AU, so there's also that, and the idea of exploring a very messy side of Caroline and that relationship was something that enjoyed a lot. They're both extremely screwed up in the head in that setting, but Klaus fakes it better, while Caroline soldiers on by being extremely focused and disciplined, but she didn't get the clean cut she wishes she did, and it shows how much that affects her. I was originally going to write it as a long multi-chap, had the whole thing planned out. It was a bit of an ensemble story, where other characters would get their own development and so on, but I totally lost my mojo and then posted it as a one shot only, because I really liked that first chapter and I felt it worked anyway. But then @definedareasofuncertainty (she's behind everything, always lol) asked me to write a sequel and I decided to give it to her a birthday gift (I'm such a lame friend tbh 🥲), and so I had to include smut, because she's always calling me names for my fade to blacks 🥲

I like the open ending tbh, the idea that they can face the fact neither of them is completely happy and they have all this resentment for each other, but that there is no easy fix because they simply want different things from life. I was very particular about how I thought Klaus would be the ~~~softer part in this finale, because that's what he's like when he's with Caroline. He understands her needs, allows her to rage and scream, and always leaves the ball in her court. She's the one who makes the important moves. And so in that moment, he's just giving her what she needs, which is a closure of sorts and a promise that, maybe, further down the road, they'll finally be on the same page. It's all about timing and how bittersweet and heartbreaking it can be.

As for Spin - honestly, I love Spin. 😂 If I had to rec one of my fics to people, Spin would probably be top 3. I draw a lot of inspiration from my obsession of the day, and this was when I was watching The Politician like a mad person. The whole high school lovers to rivals had me by the throat (even though on the show it's actually very sad and depressing, in spire of the general insanity).

Again, it's an opportunity to have Klaus be a major little shit while also being a sucker for Caroline. I just think this story has so many aspects of them that I love. The bickering, the rivalry, the bitterness. The occasional betrayal. Klaus looking at Caroline like the sun shines out of her eyes, believing in her when everyone else just sort of roll their eyes. The Steroline relationship that is phony and convenient but lacking in everything. Klaus being propelled into impulsive, erratic behavior because of his family. The two of them finding a measure of comfort and understanding in each other, which is the last thing they could've expected.

I don't know, man, I just love them in this. 😂 Maybe it's just me, but I feel like it's a very well-rounded fic that adapts their dynamic well into a high school AU. I wish I could write more fics like that tbh.

19. nor will never let the brother thing go SPECIFICALLY because it makes iceland uncomfortable. hes amazed that ice didnt think they were related at all,, think is a strong word. it was denial, 0 logic. iceland doesnt really want to kiss him again now tbh ......... not that hes less into him. hes just confused. is this still a good idea? psych, it was always a bad idea, idiot. but he does have the okay to try again............. but he cant !! its too soon!!!!!! uwahh ..!!!

20. next time they see each other (world meeting?) nor has a lot of teasing material and it is unbearableeeeee. he doesnt even have to say anything he just has to look at ice. he is riding the dna test victory high for at least a year. even better though, he has a trump card to really freak him out. all he has to do is kiss him and it would be so so so so funny for real. he waits for a good private moment bc hes not crazy enough to do that with witnesses. people are still talking about their dna test being in the news they'll approach nor or ice with that as a small talk opener at the nation function so much. after the first few times nor is sick of it (but he hates social events anyway). iceland is somewhat better at surface level smalltalk schmoozing but he DOESN'T want to think about that test at all. its so unfortunate for him. they both leave early, theyre like wow everyone's after us ab the test, wanna get out of here? and end up walking back together. theyre in the conference hotel elevator together and its silent and nor leans over and gives him a big ol kiss on the lips. the first time since new years. catches ice way off guard, and they bicker about it, norway thinks it was comedy gold, and iceland is mad. he gets so mad that hes gonna kiss him again but harder. thatll show him. theyre already on the way to empty hotel rooms umm 😳 iceland isnt prepared to go all the way but they kiss and grind like idiots and dont talk a lot. iceland has more riding on this than nor and hes veryy nervous so nor goes at his pace. afterwards. umm. hmmmm. its late but not that late but neither wants to move. or talk about it. they curl up together and sleep

Eddie takes Wayne on a roadtrip "back home" to the south as soon as he has the money to do that, and when Wayne gets old Eddie and Steve happily take him in to have him live with them.

unpopular opinion: I honestly don't like anything to do with rockstar!eddie. I honestly think that would be very bad for him and a quiet, somewhat regulated life (with the band as just a hobby) would make him way happier.

least favorite thing about them: i guess his character development. sounds a bit mean maybe but he started out as a sweetheart and an extremely loyal friend, and over the course of the story he developed into a mopey teenager who complained about everything and treated so many of his friends badly (yes i know, he's a traumatized teenager, but as a character he's just not that compelling to me, sorry)

favorite line: "I only have like $3.50, so it's hard."

brOTP: is it bad that i don't really have one?

OTP: sorry bylers but i don't have an OTP for mike :/ i don't really have strong opinions about him and will together tbh. i care way more about El's and Will's storylines than about Mike's love life if that makes sense

nOTP: i really, really don't like him with El. maybe their dynamic was kinda sweet in s1, but i wanna see el grow into her own person and learn to value friendship over relationships.

random headcanon: when Nancy comes out to her family and Ted the Reagan Supporter™ is being totally shitty about it, Mike is the one who fiercely comes to her defense and keeps standing up for her. Underneath their constant bickering, they love each other so much, and he will always have her back.

unpopular opinion: i don't think it's super unpopular but he is very much NOT the heart of the group, like Will said. That's either Will, Dustin or Lucas, but definitely not Mike, who is actually responsible for most of their fights

Hey hey hey! Back at it again to ask if Vale has any lore or connections with any canon characters? You know, besides Grim XD (Of course if you have more to talk about involving Grim than I'd love to hear about it!!!)

Vale & Grim

I like to think at some point they kinda become in sync with each other?? Like just over little things!! They'll both tilt their heads at the same time, if Grim does the cat thing to paw at his ears you can catch Vale scratching their head...its a lil cute and Ace probably makes fun of them for it lol

To appease the great Grim, Vale occasionally writes little things for him! They jot down like mini epic tales for the cat to re-read. He gets really defensive over them.

Grim would probably be spoiled by Vale if he did better in classes!! The first time they get a failing grade, Vale is ready to eat his tuna right in front of him (and they don't even like tuna!!). they don't do it ofc but man. Grim plz. do your work!!

I mentioned this in the bday post, but since Grim doesn't have an actual birthday, Vale tells him they'll share theirs! The cat immediately starts asking for gifts from everyone else lol he's too impatient to wait a whole year for gifts.

Heartslabyul & Vale

Ace and Deuce are their homies! Ace tends to be a little more harsh with them though, he just wants Vale to be...not a pushover. He messes with them a lot though. Vale just puts their trust in him so they'll fall for stuff, especially if it's related to Twisted Wonderland lore/history/whatever. (ie. Ace: Did you know chickens here can lay golden eggs? Vale & Deuce: :0c Ace: ...I'm joking it's just a fairytale. Vale & Deuce: 😔) Vale likes his magic tricks!! They'll clap for him whenever he does something even if it's a simple coin trick.

Deuce would go to Vale for studying! tbh he's pretty surprised how good they are in classes?? like damn you're not even from here and your grades are so good?? Deuce initiates the study sessions and Vale ends up leading them at this point. THEY ALSO BOND OVER EGGS!! At some point Vale mentions "fake eggs" to him (like that stuff you use to make scrambled eggs really quick instead of using a real egg) and they just bond over how bad that is. Only real eggs in this house!!

Originally, Vale is in possession of the braincell when with these two but now I'm feeling like they might lose it too lol. They really just go with the flow tbh. They won't skip class or do anything TOO dangerous or stupid, but if they're all like...outside and see a sleeping Floyd and Ace is like "I dare you to poke him", Vale would be against it because why would you do that??? After the trio bickers for a bit they end up going to go and do it.

I think that Riddle might enjoy Vale's company?? At least they're a good study partner. Like Deuce, he's pretty impressed at your grades and how hard they try to learn what they can despite not having magic. Vale would probably ask him a lot of questions about the Queen of Hearts and his home in general. He knows a lot and they can definitely take his word over Ace's for true Twisted Wonderland facts.

I don't have much with Trey or Cater unfortunately. I'd just think Vale always does this ✌️ in Cater's pictures because they don't know what else to do. That's now their staple thing. Iconic.

Savanaclaw & Vale

100% would be like a second Ruggie to Leona if they were around the dorm more. Leona wants something? aye aye captain! He might not take too much advantage of them like he does with Ruggie, but it's not bad having a second helper around. Honestly, he's just kinda waiting for Vale to bark back at him. Kinda like how Ace wants them to have a backbone except not as blunt.

Would also get dragged into helping Ruggie out with whatever he has in mind. He knows he can go to Vale and ask for help and they won't ask for anything in return. But I think he'd be willing to give them something for helping.

Don't have much with Jack rip. I just think Vale can go to him for more heavy lifting jobs. If they have to do anything for Crowley, Jack would be like the first to volunteer to help?? If it's a two man job at least. Vale would listen to him talk about his cacti though. Also wants to touch his tail but they know better.

Octavinelle & Vale

If Vale is ever in need of cash, it's time to go to Octavinelle. Or if they're down a member/short staffed I think Azul would call on them for the assistance. Such a benevolent soul knows they need some money (and food) and he needs help at the lounge. It's a win-win, no? Vale is usually kept to waiting tables or greeting guests.

Azul thinks Vale would be a good fit in his dorm. Not because having this magicless human could be of benefit to him, but because they follow the Sea Witch's benevolence. Yes, Azul is the MOST benevolent person in school, but Vale? Always kind. They answer wishes in a different kind of way. So, he's curious about them. Offers a place in the dorm (and a uniform) constantly. Vale thinks he's pretty cool though and is amazed at what he can do. They want to see his true form again and probably wrote about it at some point. I joked at some point about Vale using Azul as a muse for a novel but it might just be true...shh don't tell him.

Vale tells Jade...too much lol. But can you blame them when Jade offers to lend an ear? He is the reason/inspiration for them starting their book club after all. So there's some solidarity in them being the only members of their clubs. They are also unofficial members of each others clubs at some point?? Basically "if you go to my club meeting I'll go to yours". Also Vale would probably fall for his crocodile tears and help him out if he ever needs it. (Ace screaming in the bg)

Vale cannot escape Floyd. If Floyd wants them then...welp that's it. They can't say no to him and it doesn't help that they're passive about being busy or something. They're the only person to keep up with Floyd's whims so that's why he keeps going back to them. "If you dont wana do something with me, then Shrimpy will!" Anyway forced friendship! He's also the one insisting to take Vale swimming after learning they know how to.

Also Octavinelle folks are the first to find out about Vale's surname being Crowley 😂 At some point Azul needs their full name written down and yeah the contract doesn't need to be magical but he knows that just putting "Vale" down doesn't seal the deal. So...haha...funny last name. Floyd mcfrickin loses it over learning this. Jade does to but at least he hides his laughter.

Scarabia & Vale

Not too much here wah! They just struggle being around Kalim because oh god no he wants to party and how do you say no to constant parties when he looks so happy?! If Vale is stuck with him I feel like they'd tell them commoner things and he'd be like super amazed at it.

Vale turns to Jamil whenever they need an escape. Jamil...does his best but man. Kalim. Please. We busy!!

Pomefiore & Vale

Vale doesn't hang around Pomefiore too often, mostly due to Vil being a busy person. They didn't have much of an opinion of him at first, but they're surprised at how hardworking he is?? And yeah he isn't the nicest person but you know celeb gossip and how celebrities are assholes? They were expecting that from him and surprised that's not really the case. Vale starts watching Vil's movies with Ortho and is becomes a low-key fan later on. Vil probably likes going to Vale because on multiple times they seem to have forgotten who Neige is but not him. That's a win, queen!! Unfortunately, I don't think Vale can last around Vil for too long. He wants perfection and Vale doesn't think they can do everything he says rip

At some point I wanted Vale to go ask Rook to learn about archery from him?? So they can have some kinda self defense in this magic filled world. Still unsure if I'm following through on that (it's either this or go to the eels to learn self-defense and get REKT in the process). Other than that I think Vale would read his poetry?? Mans is so eloquent that they read his stuff and has to reread it again. Good prose and all but not their kinda thing.

Can't think of too much with Epel aside from them asking about apple carving?? Maybe use some for inspiration...Vale is also willing to hide Epel in Ramshackle to get away from Vil. Does it ever work? No. Do they keep doing this? Yes.

Ignihyde & Vale

Ace & Deuce may be the homies, but Ortho was the first!! It starts with Vale being kinda shook that theres a robot/android here in school. It's super sci-fi and they think Ortho is amazing! To others it might look like they're trying to butter him up or something but they're just interested in Ortho. What does he like to do and all that stuff. They're also willing to play games with him when no one else wants to (if Ignihyde boys won't play with him then Vale will!!). While Vale is a pushover, if they're going to stand up for anyone it's going to be Ortho!! Ace is proud of them somewhere...

And Vale's friendship with Ortho is what leads to meeting Idia! Ortho, very early on, makes the connection that Vale is interested in games and anime too. Now it's just getting them to meet. tbh Ortho can hype up Idia and Vale will believe him 100%. It's not like Ortho lies about his brother, he is super smart and he made him too! So yeah Vale believes him.

Idia and Vale are a bit...awkward at first. Their first impression still kinda sticks out (meeting over trying to get a manga and p sure Idia wasn't the kindest there). But once they can make a connection on games and whatnot it's all smooth sailing from there. Sort of. Vale would be interested in this world's stories and they could go off about theirs too. Compare anime and video games. They listen to him go off and can keep up with his lingo (most of the time). Idia doesn't trust them at first, too kind and nice, but lmao he likes having someone who can keep up with him...

Haha tag team duo of Vale & Ortho trying to get Idia out of his room. tbh Vale is fine vibing in there with him but like...cat cafes, Idia!! video game/anime themed cafes!! That's probably how they manage to get him out at first.

Shroud bros are also the first to find out the link between Vale & Grim. It really comes out in ch.6. There's one note that shows something coming from Vale when Grim is active. It also doesn't help that Vale can pinpoint exactly which room Grim is in without the bros telling them. little things that give it away!

Diasmonia & Vale

Vale finding out Malleus is also part of the solo member of a club 🤝. Would find books on gargoyles just to show him tbh. Invites him to hang out for their club meeting even if he's not a member. He can be an unofficial one too!! They're down to be an unofficial member of his. Vale is pretty chill with Malleus. Even after learning who he is, they just vibe with him. Nothing changes. The only thing that does is Vale like holy moly dragon!!! They also know Malleus likes being outside and walking around at night but they always ask if he wants to come into Ramshackle too. He usually declines cuz he likes the 'magic' the night air brings when with them.

For the other three...I think Lilia just likes to jumpscare Vale lol. It's so easy and fun to spook them, so he has his fun messing with them. He might be like Ace and trick them into believing things but at the same time no?? It sounds like a trick but it's true so?? Just no one believes Lilia bcuz he's so cryptic.

Vale isn't around Silver and Sebek too often. Vale thinks Silver has a calming aura but they get worried when he falls asleep. They end up getting yelled at by Sebek too often. It doesn't help that they spend time with Malleus more than he does. They think his devotion to Malleus is neat though! They regret telling him that...
