okay so as a gen 5 stan who does adore the story in bw and bw2, and now that gen 5 has experienced both a vicious hatedom that wouldnt hear a single positive thing about the games, and now a super protective fandom that insists they were perfect and had zero flaws... can we admit now that the bw1 story at least was. a little mid.

Lou and Thunder arrive on the fairgrounds to find it already bustling with spectators, eager to see the year's competitors, or just to enjoy the food stalls provided on the lot. It's early in the day, but the heat is sweltering, and the sun fierce as it floods the open field.

Only now, as she looks out on the people already gathering by the arenas, does Lou realize exactly what she's gotten herself into...

I've been playing Trauma Team and I finally got to the first surgery section and I've been worrying about how it would feel with motion controls, and yeah a laser pointer is always going to be more awkward than a stylus, but my god the tool wheel is so good it might just make up for that.

In Under the Knife, each tool is a button on the touch screen. Simple, intuitive, easy to swap between, no problem. At least I thought there's no problem, until I realized: You have to move the stylus away from the spot your working on. And I realized that's a problem, because you don't have to do that in Trauma Team. And it feels INCREDIBLE.

Being able to laser a spot and then immediately gel it over, without removing my cursor from the spot, is so quick and so smooth and it feels so GOOD! All the switching is controlled by the nunchuk, so it doesn't interfere with your cursor movement at all. You can switch tools while moving your cursor to the next spot, so it basically takes no time at all, you aren't reaching back and forth across the screen over and over.

My only gripe is that they absolutely could have done this for the DS games too, but they just didn't

i wish i could be the sort of person that just pushes out a million 1 hour long rpg maker or whatever games all the time but instead i'm just like I just got an idea that would take 9 years to do!!! Time to not even attempt to pursue this for some reason and just sit around thinking reeeaaally hard about it

there are games that i enjoy playing more and there are games i enjoy thinking about more. sometimes the overall story and themes and blorbos are delightful but actually playing it is a little annoying so i just rotate it in my mind instead. sometimes i get absolutely sucked into the gameplay and the world and the experience for dozens or hundreds of hours and i enjoy listening to the soundtrack but it has little to no lasting impact on me as a person bc something in the story just failed to hit and that’s ok. both are good both are beloved. obviously the ideal piece of media is one i both enjoy actively consuming and thinking about but my mindset is that if a piece of media has any single good thing in it it’s a good piece of media. give me literally anything to work with and i’ll extract joy out of it. i’ve literally never played a game i didn’t like btw

people are always talking about what sonic games they think should be remastered and honestly. i dont think i want a full on remaster for any sonic game not even the ones i really like. i think if they wanna bring older games to current consoles they should just port them mostly unchanged aside from maybe adjusting the controls and other necessary changes

You know what I always considered a really weird detail about the Pure Vessel's cut Dream Nail Dialog?

"Do not think, do not speak, do not hope, do not..."

"Do not speak"

Why? Why 'speak'? Why that word, specifically?

"Because it references back to the "No mind to think no will to break, no voice to cry suffering" thing, duh.

Well, yes.

But the other two parts of PV's DN dialog directly contradicts two of the requirements the King gave for a "Pure Vessel" -

Hollow CAN think; the dialog itself is proof of that.

And Hollow, by the very fact that they need to tell themselves NOT to hope, suggested that they did have some sort of hope they were attempting not to experience. To hope is to have a will for something, a desire, a wish. A will that the Radiance HAD broken to infect them.

So that just leaves us with "Do not Speak" and "No Voice to Cry Suffering"...

And if Hollow has a mind and a will...

Do they also possess a voice as well?

Why else would the word "Speak" be used as the direct contradiction for "No Voice"? Why else would the Pure Vessel need to remind themselves to not speak?

It makes me wonder if the King was wrong about even that aspect of the Vessel(s).

And the other thing that I find interesting: What is the Pure Vessel refraining themselves from saying? What do they want to say that they aren't allowing themselves to?
