who: evelyn and eddie where: idk honestly @wanderinglcst
"you look like shit." she said bluntly. there was no use in sugar coating things, plus she's known eddie long enough that being blunt with him wasn't really an issue, they were friends. "what happened?"

Closed starter for @swordsandcrownsxx ( Isolde Stuart )
Evelyn saw her sister coming in her direction from the other side of the room. She was much more calm now, after her conversation with Blair, he had managed to pull her away from her thoughts of murdering the kidnappers, at least for now. Her dagger was still in her hand though, just in case. The sword had been handed to one of the French guards who had come to pick it up. "I'm well, sister, no need to worry." Evelyn assured her. "We managed to overpower them and they surrendered."

who: evelyn and unity where: library @curreres
one thing that evelyn liked to do was read in her spare time, sometimes it even gave her inspiration with her own stories she was writing. at this point she just wrote them for fun, an outlet to a new world and abandoned her rule of finishing one book before starting another. "oh that looks interesting," she said to the person sitting across from her. "what's it about? i don't think i've seen that one on the shelves before."

Evelyn had managed to get out of the chaos unscathed. Her dress was covered in ash and dust, along with her face, but she well. Although, as soon as she heard of her father's injuries, she ran to the medical area where people were being taken care of. Damn the French and their parties, can't even throw a proper and safe one. There was no doubt in her mind that this would not end well for the Bourbons, the other countries would not stay quiet and still while they keep getting hurt and attacked in their home. And she couldn't say that she felt bad for them, she didn't. As soon as she reached the medical area, she heard her father's shouts and a sigh of relief left her lips. He wasn't seriously hurt, thank God. "Father." She sighed as she walked into the cot, kneeing down next to him. "Come on father, it's no place for that, we can talk all about that later. Now, you need to let the medical people take care of your injuries."

open starter -> assume connections! as king of scotland, it is safe to assume that anyone would, at least know of graeme
location -> the medical area, he is sitting on a small cot
" hands off, i am fine, i tell you! i am fine! " the king was in a proper foul mood, accosting the poor nurse who was trying to complete a well-being check. there was an ache in too many places, lungs that burned, and graeme was regretful that he had not turned in early as he'd originally planned. a frown was deep in the lines of his face, and as she finally settled enough to allow his throbbing, bruised elbow to be wrapped, the king started up his very vocal fussing once more; able to be heard by any in the room; injured or just visiting alike. " this is by fault of the damn bourbon's - what an excuse for a king, allowing such violence, such crime to go on in his own home! i have never in all my years been subjected to such horrors. are we truly to sit idle by while we all perish for the sake of the bourbon's greed? a party, of all things. "

Evelyn smiled as she crossed the finish line, picking up yet another win. It was a good feeling to win, it was an even better feeling when she got to beat either French or English competitors, but most of all, Evelyn was having fun. She was truly enjoying herself on these races and getting to show everyone what the Scots are truly made of. She climbed down from her horse, taking off her helmet and petting the horse in the head a few times, before grabbing the lead and getting ready to lead him back to the stables. They were done for the day, both of them deserved the rest and Evelyn wanted to take some time to enjoy the event without being on top of a horse. @francehqstarters

who: evelyn and rosa where: evelyns house @callofthxvoid
evelyn knew what rosa did for work now and it was definitely an improvement from when she'd first met the girl at her young age. she couldn't help but smile as she saw her writing but then laughed a little as she covered her mouth. "i'm afraid to ask.. do i want to know what this one's about?" she asked clearly amused.

Evelyn rolled her eyes at his words, he couldn't be more right about that. Truth was, no matter how annoying he might be, she secretly enjoyed it and overall just wanted to have him around all the time. Maybe it was a little selfish of her, she knew that he had a life of his own, that did not revolve around her. "Do not underestimate me, might come the day when I snap." She titled her head to the side as she stared up at him, her eyes locking with his for a moment. He was close, too close and for a moment, Evelyn found herself wanting to lean in and close the gap between them. His laugh brought her back from her trance, shaking her head slightly. "That does not sound like a bad idea whatsoever. You know I'll drag you whenever I end up going, if you do end up not marrying anyone." The idea of spending their lives together like that and growing old side by side in some castle in Scotland pleased her and she found herself wishing it would be true. Evelyn nodded her head. "I should, he's probably very worried too. And raising hell wherever he might be. Come." She grabbed his hand and headed towards the infirmary first to find her sister.
"Oh dearest Evelyn," he goads on dramatically. "If you have not killed me yet for my talent in annoying you, you won't start now." Blair teases, closing in on her fine features. His breath caught in her space, eyebrow lifted to make a point. But it a dangerous point to make, especially when he can smell the hint of her perfume. In a long stretch of silence, he considers it. Then, with laughable finality, he shrugs. "Well then. Maybe I shall never marry. I'll remain by your side, raising hell and fighting the English. Do it until we're old and grey and set up in some Stuart castle, sipping tea and biscuits." It's a jest, but there's a way that Blair smiles while speaking to it. It's an idea that brings him a certain happiness and home, that his family's propositions do not bring. "You should find your father, too." He adds, no love lost between King Graeme and Blair. Mostly, at his majesty's behest. After all, he is still part Gillies, and the harsh family ties do not do him any favors. Still, Evelyn loves him, and it is enough for him to encourage it.

Closed starter for @hcrexcellency ( Joanna Stuart )
Evelyn had just finished yet another race, having beaten her opponent by a good distance. Usually, she would not be taking part in such activities, but it was incredibly satisfying beaten the French at their own games. As well as the English, of course. Evelyn brought her horse to a stop, before climbed off and patting the animal on the neck. "Did you enjoy that sister?" She asked with a smile as she turned around to face Joanna, taking her helmet off in the process.

who: evelyn and wyatt where: outside somewhere in the morning @cryptidkeepp
evelyn had to do a double take when she saw a man come out of a shed with chase especially when the young man looked pissed off. for a second she thought it was his dad until she looked long enough to realize that it actually was. "you look pretty good for a dead guy," she said as she approached him, "glad to see that isn't actually the case." though she did wonder where he's been all this time. "it's good to see you," she smiled and left it at that. she could figure out the other question later.

Evelyn knew what she wanted, ever since she was a little girl she would go on about how she wanted to train like the soldiers, how she wanted to be a warrior instead of a princess. The early years she was raised as a proper princess but as soon as she was old enough to hold a sword, she was out in the training guards. Of course, she had some difficulty at first and there were times when she thought about giving up but those thoughts were quickly pushed away from her mind, after all, no one said that it would be easy. "I've read far too many books on warfare. I would never let myself get taken, I would take my own life before I allowed our enemies to take me as a prisoner." She knew what they would do to her and she couldn't allow that to happen. "Wait, really? My God, were you always this clumsy? I'm certain the Baroness found it quite amusing." She chuckled.
Evelyn nodded her head, knowing that even though her father might not push for a betrothal just yet, her mother very much would. Hopefully, she was too busy to think about betrothals for Evelyn. "I guess we'll have to wait and see." She shrugged her shoulders. "We both know that's not true, she has too much power over him, even if he won't admit it."
Isolde counted Evelyn among Scotland's greatest warriors, both current and historically; to was the only reason she did not fear Evelyn sparring with trained soldiers. She still remembered the early days of Evelyn's training, how she had fretted over the blisters and callouses on her sister's palms. There was a case to be made that Isolde had only learned as much about healing and medicine as she had so that she could treat Evelyn and Joanna's injuries. "Our enemies would never even get close to you. I have seen your strategies and you are far too clever to let yourself get taken. Cuts and bruises, Isolde could take, but seeing her sister in real pain would devastate her. "Speaking of cuts and bruises, did I tell you that I tried to grab a page from a bush and completely faceplanted in front of the Baroness Sunjeong. You would have been laughing so hard, though Jo would have been rolling."
That Evelyn had not moved towards finding a betrothal was unsurprising and Isolde was pleasantly surprised that their father had not sought to intervene, though possibly their mother would. Still, their mom was often more sensible in terms of matrimonial prospects. "If Da does not seem in a rush to marry you off, then I would not necessarily push it, unless you find someone who is special." Isolde, usually so reserved, let out an exasperated sigh at the mention of their father's seer. "She would not dare say anything like that to Da. She'd lose her place in court."

Closed starter for @classiqcals ( Graeme Stuart )
As soon as she walked out of the main hall, she searched the people that were there, waiting. The impostors had surrendered, they had managed to get the best of them and Evelyn was still holding the sword of one of them in her hand. Her other hand was holding a dagger, that she always kept hidden inside of her boot. Evelyn saw her father before he saw her and she immediately made her way over to him. "I'm alright father, do not worry." She could take care of herself, everyone was aware of that. But right now, she wanted to slit the throats of every single person who held them hostage, whether the French liked that or not. "They have to die for what they did, I'll do it myself." She gripped the dagger in her hand.
