"Don't," he mumbled, tensing at that oh so gentle touch. His lip was split, one eye bruised badly, and he was pretty sure he had taken damage to the ribs. Honestly, he was just glad it wasn't the side that had been pieced back together with metal. That was usually where his dad aimed when they crossed paths and Ryland managed to piss him off. "It's not as bad as it looks."

“have you ever met them? or does al go off on her own when they need her?” not that he’s seriously considering doing anything, but he’s not not considering it. and it’d be nice if he had any sort of idea about who he might be trying to fight. or maybe there’s a way to fix it without fighting at all. who knows? he clocks the smirk on silas’ face and oh, that look should not be as hot as it is. “any other unusual acts that count?” maybe even a month ago, the teasing would’ve been too much for ambrose and he wouldn’t have been able to respond, too frazzled. but something about tonight is making him feel bold. he grins and locks eyes with silas when he says, “in a both kind of way.”

ambrose raises an eyebrow at the mention of al’s patron. he’s honestly not sure he’s ever even heard her patron’s name before. al doesn’t tend to talk about him, or even being a warlock in general, very often. and he’s not going to push and pry without al giving the go ahead. silas wanting to pick a fight isn’t super surprising, but the that he says he’s never wanted to so badly is a little jarring. her patron must really be terrible. “once i know, maybe the two of us could take him on.” not that he’s a big fighter. he’s strong enough, but doesn’t really know what to do with it. “i’ve got a sneaking suspicion it might be one of yours,” ambrose teases, smiling at silas. “mine is definitely words of affirmation,” he tacks on with a wink.

THE GOLDEN LIGHT OF HIS desk lamp pools over the edge of the table , throwing soft shadows in the rest of the garage . it's hardly evening , but the time of year has the night creeping overhead earlier && earlier each day . it's not even late enough for dinner yet ( though roman hasn't exactly had lunch either so — maybe they can cut even somewhere between meals ) . it's unclear to him if gabriel eats but still — he orders him something . just for old time's sake .

" YOU HAVE TO stop showing up unannounced , " roman says , as if he's at all disappointed by this change of pace in his daily routine . " you're gonna start making me feel special . " he throws him a playful side smile before carefully rolling up a sheet of music he was working on .

persephone tilts her head back and GRINS, albeit a little crookedly - mostly due to the bottle in her hand filled to the brim with pomegranate wine. well, it had been, but she's down about three quarters and between the liquor and the heat of the sun, she feels mighty rosy indeed. been a while since she's seen apollo though, so she's a little surprised. not unwelcome, though.

"and just what brings you down to my lil' neck of the woods?" namely, the garden. she's been plucking weeds all day and her fingers are sore, but everything seems to preen a little brighter these days. especially considering the sun himself is gracing the presence of their blooms. "not trouble, i hope."

“how upset is everyone?” he can barely stand and he should definitely be asking for help before he gets into any of this, but felix isn’t exactly thinking straight. but before he can even worry about himself, he needs to know that the courts haven’t fall into chaos. that things are still okay. maybe, hopefully neva’s managed to keep this from his family.

the second blue hears the door start to open, she’s rushing to greet him. it doesn’t matter how long they’ve been together or how short the job is, nothing is better than ivar coming home to her. the only thing that’s changed along the way is she has enough patience now to let him get all the way inside before she pulls him into a hug. “i missed you.”

“so i didn’t know what you’d want to eat so i got options. and it was so not wallet friendly, but fuck it, we finally have some extra cash. so i got pizza, indian, and burgers. fuckin’ nuts they’re all in one plaza. i figure it’s dinner again tomorrow, right?” roarke is honestly amazed he managed to balance it all and make it up to the apartment. is it the nicest place? not by a long shot. but if you ask roarke, it’s the best. because it’s theirs.
