dorie’s eyes widen when she notices the color change in his eyes and she lets out a little, tiny gasp when she realizes that they haven’t just changed, but now his eyes match hers. she can’t decide if seeing the actual change or the fact that it’s almost like looking into her own eyes is a bigger mindfuck, but she never settles on an answer because adrian’s grinning at her and she’s grinning back and it’s kind of all she can think about. he has a gorgeous smile, but adrian’s always gorgeous far as she can tell. “i think i at least deserve dinner first,” she says and it’s honestly a miracle she’s able to string a coherent sentence together and isn’t lost completely to whatever it is they have going on. “exactly, that was a much nicer way to put it. way more concise.”

dorie leans in closer to look at his eyes, probably a bit too in adrian’s personal space for someone still getting to know him. boundaries? also not one of her strong suits. still, it’s sort of one thing for adrian to show up looking different and another to see the change right in front of you. she rolls her eyes at the everything comment, but she’s smiling. “i don’t think i need that demonstration,” she teases before she adds, “at least not yet,” with a wink of her own. she nods, sticking her hands in her pockets. “so we’re both working on it. and maybe that’s not the worst? probably not the best, but, like, knowing we’re both working through some shit might help us give each other some grace?”

“how upset is everyone?” he can barely stand and he should definitely be asking for help before he gets into any of this, but felix isn’t exactly thinking straight. but before he can even worry about himself, he needs to know that the courts haven’t fall into chaos. that things are still okay. maybe, hopefully neva’s managed to keep this from his family.

THE GOLDEN LIGHT OF HIS desk lamp pools over the edge of the table , throwing soft shadows in the rest of the garage . it's hardly evening , but the time of year has the night creeping overhead earlier && earlier each day . it's not even late enough for dinner yet ( though roman hasn't exactly had lunch either so — maybe they can cut even somewhere between meals ) . it's unclear to him if gabriel eats but still — he orders him something . just for old time's sake .

" YOU HAVE TO stop showing up unannounced , " roman says , as if he's at all disappointed by this change of pace in his daily routine . " you're gonna start making me feel special . " he throws him a playful side smile before carefully rolling up a sheet of music he was working on .

persephone tilts her head back and GRINS, albeit a little crookedly - mostly due to the bottle in her hand filled to the brim with pomegranate wine. well, it had been, but she's down about three quarters and between the liquor and the heat of the sun, she feels mighty rosy indeed. been a while since she's seen apollo though, so she's a little surprised. not unwelcome, though.

"and just what brings you down to my lil' neck of the woods?" namely, the garden. she's been plucking weeds all day and her fingers are sore, but everything seems to preen a little brighter these days. especially considering the sun himself is gracing the presence of their blooms. "not trouble, i hope."

the second blue hears the door start to open, she’s rushing to greet him. it doesn’t matter how long they’ve been together or how short the job is, nothing is better than ivar coming home to her. the only thing that’s changed along the way is she has enough patience now to let him get all the way inside before she pulls him into a hug. “i missed you.”
