and what makes you think Tatiana isnt already involved? if she was willing to torture her own child to keep her crown affixed on her head, what do you think she'll want to do to you, having now gained that traitor child's supposed affection and adoration?

she'll tear you away from him, hand you over to your family and then if you're lucky lock zephyr away once more, or she might hand him over as payment once again to the hunters. worked out well last time, he made a fine pet and toy for them.

ahh the brother... notice how he didnt step in until you were about to stab him? birds of a feather Ryland, He'll always choose his own kind over humans. he may hate his family, but, look at what humans and hunters do to fae.

im only trying to help you, why are you so hell bent on seeing this through even though youre going to die either at his hand or because of him, do you value your life so little you'd throw it all away for the likes of him?

nothing but good so far.... but have you dealt with your family since being with him, have you dealt with the courts? this is what we call the honeymoon phase ryland, as soon as times get tough he's leaving. why waste your time and gamble your life on him?

"I've met his asshole brother. I wouldn't exactly call that run in good. We're determined to see this through, even if it ends badly so do not think you can drive a wedge between the two of us."

Ryland, you know how tempermental fae are. Why do you continue to stay with one of the most unstable ones that has more of a penchant for violence than love, and one that's been watching out for himself for so long? He'll bounce as soon as you're caught with him, you have to know that.

"You might want to think long and hard before you open your mouth again. Zephyr is everything to me and he has been nothing but good to me."

Neither because they don’t have a couch, they pretty much live out of a truck. Lex is more likely to fall asleep during drives though because Ryland is more often than not the one driving.

They’re about even on that one. Always trying to find new things that work well over a campfire.

Neither. They’re usually pretty entwined around each other so the blankets are kind of an after thought.

They’re both equally guilty about this but only when they’re both exhausted and just want to pass out after eating.

Neither really? They’ve both had bad experiences with surprises so it’s not something either one of them is all too fond of overall.

They live out of a truck. Not a whole lot of places to leave dirty laundry.

On the occasion they’re staying at a hotel and have a little extra money, Ryland. But most money goes towards keeping the truck going and making sure they have food.

That he’s not human and this is less to do with Mal and more to do with Ryland’s family and the way that he was raised.

😴 for Ry from Lex

It had been hard for Ryland to be away from Lex, especially at the bar. He knew it was important for Lex to get the chance to learn more about his fae side and Ryland wasn't going to make him feel bad for that, he just wished he could go with him. He understood why he couldn't, but it didn't make it any easier.

The sound of the door opening, even quietly, was enough to make him stir, a warm but tired smile crossing his features. "Missed you."

It was going to happen sooner or later, Ryland knew that, but it didn’t make Lex’s reaction any easier to see or hear. The blood wasn’t his. Well, most of it wasn’t his, but the hunt had gone sideways quick. Most shifter didn’t seem to bother with actual weapons, but this one had and Ryland was pretty sure he was going to need to give himself stitches after getting cleaned up. 

Of course, walking into the hotel room covered in blood hadn’t been a good look and he held his hands up, showing they were empty as he met Lex’s stare. 

“It’s not important.”

Ryland would have been lying if he said he hadn’t expected the question, but that didn’t mean he knew how to answer it. Sure, he knew how he wanted to respond, but, it wasn’t the kind of decision that he could make on his own and expect it to just be fine.

“Guess that depends on what you want to be to me.”
