Lumi Seijaya headcanons!

-she’s much smarter than people give her credit for and she could absolutely be a scientist like eve if she had been nurtured to do so and had the passion for it

-she makes both her and eve’s clothes

-that’s one of the reasons she loves to train ice types! they help her figure out if somethings too warm or cold

-her and shelly become BEST friends in the post game

-she’s a better battler than eve is, though you wouldn’t guess it

-she also made zero a new outfit after he left team meteor

-she’s fiercely passionate about sticking up for the people she loves. anyone insults her friends or family they will get SCREAMED at

-along with adrienn, she helped start a rehabilitation programme for ex team meteor members like her

-her favourite food is ice cream! she makes it with her glaceon

-probably has a tamagotchi or virtual pet she takes care of religiously

-very emotionally mature

-wears lots of layers even in hot weather (she likes how cozy it makes her feel. that’s why she likes living in ametrine and stays there even after the post game)

-even when she gets older, she holds on to her childhood. she chases the dream to reclaim the life stolen from her, and as such, maintains her whimsy even when she grows up

-she will only use the cutest accessories she can find for her phone and pokémon

Despite not using Lite Mode this time (I am still using my regular passwords of Noitems though), the Double battles mod has unintentionally made the early game up to currently right before shade incredibly easy.

And it's not because of the mod itself, but because I used Mono-rock to get Pokemon that fit for Lysia's team earlier then normal and it gives 2 Pokemon with Rockslide which is incredibly spammable this early in the game where priority and coverage isn't as common and the overall power level is lower then that of a Crustle and Lairon.

I will probably turn on the Flat EVs password later on to make it easier though, I don't have the patience to try and figure out how to beat endgame teams that have max EVs in every stat, not to mention the 6v12s.

So, what IS Pokemon Reborn: Rainbow?

I'm glad you asked, anon! I'll put the answer simple above the cut and explain it in better detail below. Me and @nommyzommy will have a deep dive about Reborn: Rainbow in a later post.

WARNING: THIS IS A VERY LONG POST! You can just stick to the summary if you're not in the mood to read an excerpt as long as the bible!!

Put simply:

Reborn: Rainbow (from here forth called RR in this post) is an AU that combines elements of the white and black routes. It also contains original characters and events, including PULSEs, storyline, and even two entire cities with their own geography!

In detail:

RR mixes our favorite elements from both routes and changes some of them a little more to our preferences. It also allows us more screentime for our favorite characters that were kinda overshadowed or just straight-up put on a bus during the game :P Like Florinia, Serra, and more.

It also has new PULSEs and lore for Eve and the subsect of Team Meteor that creates them. And new lore for Team Meteor in general. Lots of the Alcantaras' history and influence is central to the fanfic.

Now, to begin on the characters: We made new characters (that we'll begin posting soon) and new arcs and designs for our favs! (Those are the RRr designs you've been seeing across our posts.) A lot more characters get to know each other, and the theme of the fanfic is a little bit more,, positive? More friendly? I just like games that are more optimistic! :)

And we've made new plot points and storyline! Like great news for Heather, the deforestation of a lot of the region's routes, and the recurrence of characters that were supposedly gone forever... *cough cough, the Belrose parents and Zina Vanhanen*

We've even made brand new cities and geography for them, too!! (Again, we'll touch up on these in a later post with finished maps and fixed details. Like the Jade Jungle is supposed to be bigger, etc.) First is Aquamarine City on Turquoise Island!

The Turquoise Islands have a tropical climate and are located in the Azurine Lake just under Reborn City. The island and city, Aquamarine City, are largely based on Florida and California. It and Coral Ward are conneceted by a large bridge that crosses the Azurine Lake. The surrounding geography includes jungles, beaches, coves, and mountains! It also has a string of small uninhabited islands called the Scallop Isands and a world-renowned tourist attraction called Draconite Isle, which features a dangerous temple that reportedly withholds treasures!

Second is Flinthearth Town!

The climate in the Flint Forest is humid temperate with hot summers and cold winters. Being located just south of Spinel Town, the area and town draw inspiration mostly from Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, and Texas. Many trains connect it to other territories of the region, including Spinel. The geography of the area is comprised of forests, mountains, lakes, and terraces. Their greatest attractions are the annual Flinthearth Fair (mirroring the Lincoln County Fair among other county fairs) and the abandoned (and reportedly haunted!) Alabaster Castle!

Heyo whats up! The other day I stumbled across this post by @jazz-kitty which pitched a possible Swap AU for Pokemon Reborn, which this small comic in of itself inspired. so many ideas for more swaps for.

So after getting the go ahead from Jazz, I thought it could be fun to ramble about some more possible swaps for some of the other swaps for this au :3

Its a good bit so I'm gonna put it under a read more because I have many ideas that I am happy to explain!

Ok first off are the swaps already present in the original post by Jazz, which I will be using as a baseline for my ideas! The most notable swap is Cal and Blake Whitaker being the focus of the original comic, and already I think that is just. a really neat concept all things considered. Already both of their arcs would be very different, with Cal never going to Apophyll, likely still having a lot of that pent up frustration and anger issues, and Blake mellowing out a bit, but probably still being a bit of a jerk since he doesn't really give a shit about a lot of whats going on. If anything I'd still say that Blake probably still kicked Cal's ass when they first meet like in canon which makes Cal even more mad at him in swap au,

Next is Lin swapping with the protagonist. Honestly I'd still need to think about which protagonist would take canon Lin's place since I don't really have a definitive favorite among them, and I feel like they all would be pretty interesting to switch around. I just know that it'd probably end up being one of them.

Then last of the swaps shown in the comic is Bennett taking the place of Shelly. To be honest Bennett ending up more like an anxious bookworm might be better for him in the long run versus how he is base game. Don't get me wrong Bennett probably has one of my favorite arcs throughout main game and post game, but I'm doing a playthrough rn and I just got to Iollia valley and. C'mon man.

First off is a big swap between Julia and Florinia with Amaria and Titania respectively (as well as Fern and Hardy but I'll get to them in the next section). Julia taking the place of Amaria, with Amaria being in charge of the water treatment center/gym and Julia living with Florinia in the Fiore Mansion. Titania would be a teacher at the Onyx school in Florinia's stead, writing as a side hobby, while Florinia maybe works out in the field studying pokemon strategy in the wild to better understand them? Her gym being out in the desert would also fit with her theme of being a grass type sand team.

Next is Fern and Hardy swapping. Hardy loses his connection with Titania as she gets absorbed in her work at the school, falling more into his rock star persona, although he ends up more arrogant due to his fame around the school and city. Then there's Fern, who I'd say is probably more like he is post game? Definitely the kind of guy who'd make someone smile (although still probably a little misguided).

My next swap is a bit simpler being Cain and Aya, with Aya being the recurring rival and Cain being the poison type gym leader, Cain not being able to runaway while Aya does.

Another somewhat big swap is Solaris and Elias as well as Taka and Luna, with Elias being the founder of Team Meteor, Luna being the unwilling heir, Solaris is the third member of the elite four and Taka is on the run from his father, carrying the emerald brooch.

To round out the ideas I had for Team Meteor is Sirius and Connal. They both have connections to the Belroses and also they are both huge pieces of shit. Sorry to be blunt but its true.

Another swap that I think would be interesting is Noel and Anna with Eve and Lumi respectively. Honestly I don't really have much of an explanation I just think they would be interesting pairs to switch.

And thats all the swaps I was able to come up with. There are probably more I could come up with and honestly knowing me I could probably come up with swaps for the whole game if you give me like. a week. but also that would take me forever and I am tired-- i might end up doing some doodles for these ideas at some point to cause swap aus are fun. anyways thanks for reading my rambles :3

Evelynn Seijaya headcanons

-she dances, tap and ballet in particular. it helps her de-stress when the job gets to her

-she gets super into d&d- but instead of being into the roleplay like lumi, she makes the most amazing and broken character builds

-she’s dyslexic, only being able to force herself to read when it comes to numbers. she prefers to work with her hands as a result of this

-she’s a lesbian

-she becomes reborn’s chief of scientific advancements and engineering in the post game

-she completely shut off her emotions after her parents died. she had to take care of lumi, there was no time to grieve

-florinia bonds with her over both striving to embrace their emotions

-she helps zero get a job as her secretary when he’s trying to get back on his feet

-she’s very supportive of lumi’s goals. she doesn’t want her sister to have to go through the same chronic stress she had to endure

-as a result of the chronic stress, she gets consistent migraines

-her and laura get along very well (but eve’s worried charlotte is a bad influence on lumi)

-espeon helps her deal with her migraines and anxiety attacks

-she hates how scared she is of losing control. she subsequently plans everything as much as she physically can

-she lives a very long happy life helping the city and living with her sister (and occasionally with zero)

oh i have lots! im going to throw some rom hacks in the bundle as well. ill sort them by rom hacks and fangames.

here we go!

ROM HACKS:

Emerald Rogue is the way to go if you want a roguelike experience like TBOI or Hades! There's virtually no story, but it's quite a lot of fun to play and has lots of replay value, fit with sidequests and challenges with intriguing rewards.

Recommended if you want to jump right in and get to battling, testing your skill!

Unbound is a ROM hack that truly has it all; fit with an original story and region, postgame, difficulty options, and the CFRU engine that has added a myriad of QOL features to Fire Red hacks, it is undoubtedly one of the very best hacks of all time! It also has an original soundtrack!

Recommended if you want to play a story-driven game with countless quality-of-life features!

Gaia is a more grounded ROM hack that could very easily fool me for a mainline game; this is a compliment, as it's wonderfully done! It has a plot centralizing around the legendary golems, an original region and characters, and flavor that just feels homey. (This also maaayy be getting an update in the future, so keep that in mind.)

Recommended if you're looking for a casual but intriguing experience!

Onto the fangames- I have an extensive list, but I'm going to keep it at three games each since this post is getting quite lengthy.

I won't go in depth on these two since you've played one and are going to play another, but Reborn and Rejuvenation are musts for me! With that out of the way,

Tectonic is a fangame that turns the entire Pokemon experience on its head. Rather than EVs, Style Points can be freely distributed and taken away. Every Pokemon has been reworked from the ground up, and there are even new status effects like Dizziness and Numbness. The plot revolves around the Avatar Phenomenon, ghostly apparitions of Pokemon wreaking havoc across the region, and racing your brother for the title of Champion to gain the approval of your cold-shouldered mother.

There's quite a steep learning curve, but I think it's worth it; this is one of my favorite plots in a fangame thus far.

Recommended if you want to shake up the original Pokemon formula!

Desolation is the third major 'Rebornian' game along with Reborn itself and Rejuvenation. It plays similarly to the other two, with a cohesive, dark plot and field effects, difficulty, and choices that have consequences. It also features gorgeous art and a lovely soundtrack!

What is it your dream? Is it to be a hero..?

Recommended if you enjoyed pretty much anything about Reborn!

Flux is the final fangame I will be recommending today. It's quite incomplete, with one chapter of three being finished, but it more than makes up for it with the story content, gameplay, and gorgeous art. It's also the only fangame in this list that consists almost entirely of Fakemon; some may even seem familiar!

The same people who created Uranium (also do recommend) are currently working on Flux, and some designs have been remastered and carried over into the new game.

Recommended if.. you're breathing. This fangame is amazing. I love it!

If that's not enough, some people over on the Reborn Discord have compiled a list of virtually every ROM hack and fangame out there, with the means to filter to your tastes. I hope it suits you well!

I was going to get back to pokemon reborn, but I'm stuck in some battles and i really need a guide for someone who after twenty years still doesn't understand EV's and IV's.

theres pokemon reborn, which i've enjoyed a lot. it is pretty difficult, but they have a variety of quality of life changes to make getting/raising pokemon way easier. also, ways where you can make it easier on yourself through lowering the levels/EVs of trainers or making your own pokemon always have 31 ivs or just. otherwise making things easier. i think the stories really good, but it's not for everyone! if you're considering actually playing a fangame i'd definitely look into it's content warnings first ^_^'' development for it was started several years ago where it's main creator was a teenager, and in some aspects you can Tell. but i think it has more than enough good aspects to still make it worth it- it was finished just last year!

also it's like 130 hours of gameplay so. kind of an investment. i just really like pokemon reborn and like talking about it haha :3c

ough that is rather long. although i end up liking longer games usually, something tends to stray me away from them. weirdly i feel like i have to really, Really like a game to actually be willing to play it for upwards of a hundred hours. i don’t know Why i’m like that, but i’m also kinda just assuming this is how i am, given how often i’ve dropped longer games. maybe i’m just not playing the right long games, because i spent a hundred hours on totk and still want more. a cursory google does show a Lot of content warnings, but it could be interesting, perhaps. more mature themes for a pokémon game. i’ve certainly got more mature themes in my own oc creations around pokémon and pmd. and over a hundred hours of content for a fangame is very impressive to me—as long as it’s not all grinding, of course!

considering how long it is, it’s likely it’ll be one of the later games i check out if i do, but when time and interest allows, i will also try to keep this name in mind. boosting up the IVs of your party pokémon seems especially nice, considering i tend to use pokémon that aren’t “competitive” in my playthroughs
