Neon Genesis Evangelion is one of my favourite manga and anime. This year I got Shinji as a Valentine's Day gift from my husband. And I bought Kaworu myself. They are different painting versions but I don't care, they are such a cute couple. Haha, am I obsessed with making couples? Am I?! Well, perhaps I am, to some extent. I've just ordered my tenth BJD because I couldn't stand Ren being the only one lonely in my resin crew. 🙄 So now I'll have 3 couples and 2 pairs of siblings. This is crazy, I really don't know where I'm gonna put another doll box. No more dolls! I swear that was the last doll I bought! 🤞 And yeah, I just couldn't resist those Stray Kids keychains. So you can easily tell who my bias is. 🐥 (Yongbok-nim, get well soon!)

My April 2024 toy haul got here three days ago! I'm super happy with the Sasuke Chougekisen Figuarts Zero figure. Mine unfortunately has a misplaced left eye, but it is an inexpensive figure, so I guess the factory errors will be there, even if it is slightly more than an average prize figure. Ironically, I've rarely encountered many prize figures that have factory paint erros -- I own a bunch of multiples for most Sasuke ones, although I haven't unboxed many, the ones that I have don't have any sizable paint app mistakes. Just my very first Masterlise Sasuke with the rinnegan eye had a major eye misplacement -- wihci really sucked, because he was so freaking expenisve for a prize figure! I have still to fix that eye. Still, I am happy with how this figure looks in person. I feel the boxes are too big and not justifiably so, for the size of the base and figure overall. The huge box just makes s/h from Japan that much more expensive, and it really has me frothing at the mouth… lol! I hate larger than life boxes for tinier figures, when they could have easily fit them plus the base in a much smaller box. DX I don't know when I'll be able to ship my second one from Japan, but I hope it doesn't have the eye misplacement as well.

I love the Sephiroth keychain! It's so much larger than I thought it would be and has a nice weight to it (I'm not going to use it, I don't use keychains, let alone "collectible" ones). Of course I love the Sasuke acrylic stand, I wish I could stop hoarding those... I'm also super happy with the tiny Pripra Lady Torso plastic model, it's super adorable IRL. I'm only sad I didn't get a second one to actually build. I find these tiny model kits super cute in their packaging (as the hoarder that I am), it makes me not want to remove them from their packaging to actually build. I know, I suck! DX I've finally got the "B" version of Kaworu the plug suit Q Posket figure. I own the student uniform "A" version as well, and one of my goals is to get the "B" version of that, one day as well! And a second one of whichever versions of the plug-suit so I can unbox one… yes, I am a shameless hoarder!!! The Taito Chokonto figures are adorable, I might get doubles so I can have them displayed -- I'm also tempted to get the other characters, despite me not collecting much other than a few random Kaito and Len ones. Grogu is just a bonus, because I'm not really into the series (I don't watch/follow any of that universe), I just thought those UDF looked adorable, and I got them for that reason alone.

Guess we can start with these ones above: the "NGE Star and Constellation Series 2" set, released in 2005 (the Yui mini figure on the left side is from Series 3, also released in 2005). Had always wanted to get some of these because they were space related, kinda? They are very cute and have good enough detail for the size too! But they are legit hard to find, specially unopened--That said, the one I really wanted was the Yui figure, if only because -as we all know- there's not much merch of her available.

Slightly related, the next items: "NGE Halloween Mini Display Figure" set, released in 2006. They are... SO CUTE!!! Love these so much, not just because they are Halloween themed (and I do love Halloween) but also because some GLOW in the dark and, well, they are just cute! Look at Asuka as a witch, Rei as a mummy, Misato as a vampire, and Maya... as... a Grim Reaper? Simply perfect, absolutely some of my favorite pieces.

These lil' cute fellas are the Evangelion Coo'nuts set, released in 2020. They look kinda like matryoshka dolls and are weighted at the bottom, so they balance and stand on their own (which is fantastic for figure collecting because you don't to worry about them falling at any given moment).

Now, everyone's favorite gremlins: The Battle Cats x Evangelion Collaboration set, released in 2019 (Battle Cats is also known as Nyanko Daisensou). These were released as gachapon prizes, so collecting them was kinda tricky if you bought them individually; thankfully they were sold together in certain places--Interestingly enough, the Shinji one was so popular and bought by itself so much, that when you found a set being sold... it'd be missing the Shinji figure (which is exactly what happened to me, and have been missing him ever since!!!).

To finish this first round, just a bunch of keychain charms, from the Keychain Figure Shin Seiki Evangelion 2 series, released in 1997. Now, what really got me interested in these -if you pay close attention- is that the Lilith charm... is mislabeled as 'Adam'; I've seen photos of it floating on the web for years, and was so curious about it--When I finally found it, I was so happy! However, the seller was only willing to sell one figure? So I had to persuade them to sell me the whole set (since I do find old eva merch to have a special kind of charm... HAHA). even though he's a bean pole (as you frequently point out), he's a lot stronger than you realize - hidden by his long sleeves and sweater vests and loose ("comfortable!") clothing.

oh, he plays weak in front of you. suguru gets a real kick out of it, but you're not any nicer to him.

"satoru, what the hell are you doing? just walk past."

you shoot the goth a scathing glare, "nobody asked you, edgelord freak."

"at least i have a style," suguru bites back. he's more than used to getting looks.

"yeah, and it's shit. fuck off."

suguru is about to release an especially pointed remark on your lack of friends, perceived financial status, and general shitty personality that somehow managed to be worse than his idiot best friends', but satoru gives him an absolutely withering glare. icy.

"yeah, suguru," he parrots, "fuck off."

"you shut up!" you snap immediately, "i wasn't done with you!"

suguru doesn't know whether to laugh or cry.

this song and dance has been going on for years now, and you're all seniors.

"oh! yeah, of course, sorry," satoru beams at you, "you wanted to study together after school?"

you'd been threatening him to hand over his homework.

suguru supposes, in satoru's deranged mind, oversaturated with media references and calculus formulas, this might sound like a date.

"fine," you snap in exasperation, "however the hell you want to do it. just be there, all right?"

"of course! i'd never let you down!" he's nodding eagerly as you huff, release his collar, and stalk away.

"wait up!" satoru whines, gathering his books and trailing after you like a dumb puppy.

"fucking keep up, nerd, i'm not slowing down for you," you say, as you slow down for him.

for fuck's sake. it's a miracle two people this dense could even meet each other, and somehow, you're both in advanced classes.

if you don't fuck by the end of the school year, suguru thinks he's actually going to die.

What fandoms would he really be invested in (whether that be on homeworld or back on earth is for you to decide)

I always hc Steven as a total fucking nerd on a lot of stuff, so this is what he was into before he left earth:

Star wars, bc the whole space rebellion and mind powers put him in an euphoric state. Greg probably showed him that and a ton of other "retro" stuff from when he was a kid so I can also see him having a BTTF hoverboard keychain

He's definitely super into musicals. Loves them. Can't get enough of them. Dragged Connie to see Into the Woods and then complained about the movie adaptation for hours on end.

On anime, I see him with a lot of classics, like Cowboy Bebop, Dragon Ball. Maybe he snuck around to watch Evangelion at a tender age and got half traumatized (or maybe not, his life was already pretty fucked up and he just didn't grasp the gravity of the child soldier narrative ("I mean, I'm their age and I'm fine!" ). Avid Sailor Moon fan.

On Homeworld he has an outfit that resembles Howl Pendragon's, (I drew it but never got around posting it) for sure a Ghibli enthusiast.

He got to watch up to like, the second season of Voltron before he got abducted and he was super into it, made Connie watch it too. (Connie can't tell him how fucking ass the finale is, she doesn't have the heart to.)
