Yes and no! Yes they are sun and moon coded for lack of a better word and no they are not literally the sun and the moon personified-

the one in green is named Virgo and he has a major sun motif (always brightly lit from behind+always smiling +orange hair+depicted in flower fields)

and the one is white is named Eui (full name is Euto but Eui is a nickname) has a major moon motif! (reflecting Virgos warmth +always facing towards/being pulled into the light but it never coming from her)

ALSO this metaphor is made really sad and yearning when I explain that Eui is albino and thus has extremely severe light sensitivity to the extent that looking at pretty much anything in direct sunlight will hurt her- which has horrible implications when your love intrest is sun coded….

I WILL LITERALLY TELL U ANYTHING U ASK ABOUT MY OCS

So the one with orange hair is named Virgo! He has a chronic illness that is killing him (slowly at first but at the point of the plot the illness is much more severe and he has like 3 years left to live) He has pretty much accepted this fact right up until he falls in love with Euto! (The character with the white hair) who is an herbalist and wanna be doctor who is extremely talented in the field of medicine- just not enough to heal him in time. The two fall madly in love and over the course of their relationship Virgo basically goes through the 5 stages of grief in reverse and un-accepts his impending death as Eui shows him that he has a lot of stuff he actually does want to live for ! And simultaneously Euto gets increasingly desperate in their attempts to find a cure for him - and is entirely unsuccessful.

Eui and Virgo and a tragedy waiting to happen- but as this reality grows closer Euto resorts to more “unethical” methods.

EKKK THANK U FOR THE QUESTION I AM LITERALLY SO HYPED TO TALK ABOUT THEM!!!

For the first meeting it requires a bit of context- Virgo is the legal guardian of his little brother and is the caretaker for a few of his little brothers friends (his brother is like 10) and for various reasons that are kinda convoluted Virgo’s brother and his friends are going around pretending to be an “adventuring party “ and Virgo is humoring him because on the down low Virgo is really really sick and wants to make some memories with his brother while he still can. SO Virgo’s brother (named Dani) is looking for more people to join their party- and while traveling they get in a little scuffle with some local creatures and go to a nearby town to get patched up. They find a doctor who is able to patch them up- but Virgo is so focused on making sure the kids get cleaned up he kinda forgets to tell the doctor about his own injuries.

And then Virgo gets startled because the doctor has a new apprentice who he didn’t notice before who is lurking in the shadows a bit! (an herbalist trying to expand their skill) and the apprentice immediately calls Virgo on his injuries and lightly bullies him into getting cleaned up and the two have a kinda quiet moment where Virgo stops trying to hide his pain and the two talk openly with each other- before the kids come running back (now all patched up) and immediately ask the herbalist/apprentice to join their adventuring party. Virgo kinda awkwardly apologizes before the herbalist just straight up agrees, throws off their apron, grabs their bag, and hollers to the doctor that they are leaving and will be back “at some point”. Then turns around and introduces themselves in a little “By the way my name is Euto “ moment and the rest is history! (Eui is a nickname)

For the light sensitivity question there are two reasons! First Eui is actually albino! She is super pale and has light hair just because she lacks pigmentation all over and that causes a lot of light sensitivity- but also on a more specific level Eui’s eye structure is actually wrong

She actually has her pupil and sclera swapped! The blue part of her eye functions as a pupil and the white a sclera- and because she has a really big pupil she takes in way more light and is thus very sensitive to it! Her bangs and hat in the illustration function as protection for her eyes against the sun :)
