So I was looking at map posters online and I came across this

The website says it shows Europe in 1978 but I don't think that's right (especially the shape of Germany and Poland)

If someone could tell me what's going on here and maybe correctly date this map that would be much appreciated

For those unfamiliar with the terminology Jonathan is using: in modern terms Magyars are Hungarian, Wallachians are Romanian, Szekelys are linguistically more closely related to Hungarian, Saxons are German speakers.
