Welcome to the world of Sonic and the Eternal Winter! A Sonic Storybook Series installment concept based on a retelling of the Hades and Persephone Greek Myth.

Sonic is summoned by Demeter to rescue Persephone, her daughter, from the dreadful God of the Dead, Hades, who has kidnapped her and is holding her hostage in the Underworld. Hermes volunteers to take Sonic down to the Underworld while under the watchful eye of Demeter's screech-owl servant, Ascalaphus.

However, as Sonic meets the rest of the Pantheon, he begins to suspect that there is more to the situation than is being shared with him.

Sonic's suspicions further arise as he travels within the Underworld, finding that things are not quite as the stories, and Demeter, claim.

This might be a bit of a stretch, but I have a little headcanon about Silver and his apocalypse future. That despite the fact that it's a firey hellscape with lava everywhere, it's actually really cold in general due to the sun being blocked out by the ash clouds. (Maybe that could be an explanation for why Silver has so many polar-esq traits?)

The sun being blocked out would definitely make things cold in a fireless situation, yep. We've got multiple global events throughout history that demonstrated just that! I think Iblis in Crisis City might have kept things quite hot, due to the constant fires and the fiery beasts that roam it, but perhaps outside of the city's borders where it is less things might have been cooler? It'd suit Silver to stay right in the middle of the place where Iblis appears most with little regard for finding somewhere safe, in order to fight it off most quickly. But on the other hand, to my knowledge Iblis' monsters still appear where he is not, so that might spread the heat around still... Hmm, I would say that the temperature in Silver's future then depends on one's proximity to Iblis, his monsters, or the lava, and that it is logical that if those are not around, things could be quite cold without the sunlight. But I cannot say anything about to what extend there's an escape from fires of any sort in Silver's future to begin with... Poor Silver!
