It's been two months since the semester started, and Midterms were just around the corner. [M/N] had been cruising through his classes so far, so he wasn't worried about how he'd do. Most of his classes were just gen ed, all freshman-level and fairly simple. It also paid to be smart.

[M/N] was heading to the library for a study group. Listen, he's smart, but he isn't smart smart. Plus, it's a math class. Say what you will, but math is absolute hell.

“[M/N]!” Paris’ voice called out across the busy campus. The [h/c] male looked back as the pink-haired male ran towards him with the same bright smile. The shorter omega wore a green turtleneck, tight jeans, and black platform boots. [M/N] was shocked by how much effort the shorter omega kept putting into his outfits. [M/N] himself had already given up on the whole ‘dress nice’ thing instead of opting for some sweatpants and hoodies. Look, he isn’t going to get all dressed up just for class, especially since he’s spending hours sitting.

[M/N] stared down at the omega approaching, feeling himself smile at the other's welcoming grin. Paris was a very determined omega and somehow weaseled his way into [M/N] life. The pink-haired omega was resilient, refusing to take no for an answer. It was annoying initially, but the other persisted and somehow became what many would consider a friend.

“What are you going here? Your classes don’t start till 2, right?” The shorter male tilted his head, looking up at him with that stupidly adorable look.

[M/N] nodded. “Just here for a study group.”

"Oh. For what class?"

"Math."

Paris grimaced. "Ew."

[M/N] laughed. He held the same sentiment, honestly.

Paris smiled just slightly. He looked at the taller omega with a strange glint in his eyes.

Suddenly, a burning feeling was at the back of [M/N]'s head. He could sense someone approaching, smelling them before he could see them. It was a vulgar scent, reminding him of lit cigars. He looked behind him to see an alpha walking towards them, likely a few inches shorter than him. Something was telling him this experience wasn't going to be fun.

Paris grabbed onto his hoodie sleeve to look behind him. "What are you-" Hr froze, watching in horror as the alpha grew near. He buried his face into [M/N]’s side, his body trembling. His pheromones grew sour. A small whimper left his lips, startling the [h/c] omega.

[M/N] placed a hand on Paris’s back. “Are you ok? Do you know him?”

The omega nodded frighteningly. “He…” The alpha grew nearer, and the omega buried his face farther into the taller side. He continued to speak, his voice muffled. “He’s one of the…alpha’s I told you about.”

[M/N]’s eyes widened. Since the start of the semester, Paris had come to him, complaining about a group of alphas, six to be exact, all trying to court him. He’d refuse multiple times, even going so far as to decline one of them publicly. Yet they were frighteningly persistent. They continued to pursue and court Paris. One of them even went so far as to try to follow the omega back to his dorm. Luckily, [M/N] had been returning to his apartment when the pink-haired male asked him to walk him home.

[M/N] looked back up just as the alpha stood before them. The alpha’s scent began to pour out of him in waves, attempting to get the [h/c] male to back down. But, spending 3 years in an alpha-riddled military base, you don't easily submit just because of some random alpha. “Do you need something?” The alpha ignored him, his gaze stuck on Paris. [M/N] gritted his teeth. “If you're just going to stand here and stink up the place with your scent, then you can leave.”

Shit. 

Paris panicked as the pest grew nearer. He felt sick as the alpha’s scent surrounded him. Nausea settled into his stomach as the scent of cigars penetrated his nose. His legs felt weak as he buried his face in your side. ‘No, no, nonononononono, NO!’ His whole body shook, his scent turning sour with fear. 

His thoughts weren’t on his own safely, honestly. He knew the alphas wouldn’t dare harm him. Their affection for him was too high for them even to try. And even if they decided to try anything, he’s learned to carry two pocket knives, anyway. No, he was worried about you. He knew you could probably protect yourself. You were big and much stronger than him. But these pests were terrifying, even to him. And he’s had years to get used to them.

When he peeked up at you, he was astonished at how calm you looked. You were around 3 inches taller than the pest, yet you practically towered over him. You stood unwavering before the alpha, hardly deterred by the wretched scent. For whatever reason, he expected you to cower and submit. At least, that’s how everyone reacted to the alpha, regardless of secondary gender. 

The pest, Cole, if his memory serves him right, was the next head of a rather influential and dominant family. They trained him to stand above everyone else from a young age. He has great control over his scent and how to make others fall to their knees. 

Yet you didn’t even bat an eye. 

Instead, you stood before the alpha, gently pushing Paris behind you to shield him from the alpha’s gaze. Paris let out a startled gasp at your actions. His grip on your sweater loosened slightly. He quickly looked up and stared at the back of your head. You were…protecting him? He hadn’t expected this. Perhaps it was the effect of the game, yet he’d been used to everyone blatantly ignoring his pleas for help. Even when it was obvious how uncomfortable he was, no one paid attention to him, whether friend or foe.

Yet here you are, protecting. He watched as you stared down Cole. Your actions only solidified his theory that you were not a part of this game. Your existence and actions did not fit in this game. You were made just for him.

He let out a silent chirp as he snuggled into your back. ‘My mate’s protecting me,’ his thoughts raced as his fingers curled around the soft cloth of your sweater. He pressed his nose against your back, inhaling your scent. His body calmed as he began to purr. 

[M/N] stared down at the alpha, his gaze hard and filled with anger. These types of alphas are the ones he despises. The ones that think they have power over everyone just because they're an alpha. The ones that think everyone should submit to them. [M/N] has had years to get used to alphas like this. He’s also had years to force them on their knees and submit them. 

The alpha’s eyes were on him now, a snarl on his face. “How dare you speak to me like that, beta?” [M/N] huffed out a laugh. So the bastard thinks he’s a beta. This will be fun. The alpha continued. “You should never come between an alpha and his omega.”

[M/N] smirked at the absolute audacity. “Your omega? As far as I know, this omega doesn’t belong to anyone.”

The alpha snarled, his scent growing increasingly heavier as anger flickered in his eyes. His scent was beginning to attract the attention of others on campus. Crowds began to form around them, and whispers surrounded them as people pulled out their phones to record. It made him uncomfortable, knowing they would rather stand by and watch. Absentmindedly, [M/N] wondered if his study group had already started.

The alpha, however, puffed out his chest at the newfound attention. Despite the height difference, the alpha attempted to intimidate the ex-veteran. He poured out more of his vulgar scent in his weak attempts. “Do you even know who I am? I’d advise you to watch your tone.”

The [h/c] omega recoiled. What kind of stereotypical rich kid shit is this? [M/N]’s eyebrow twitched. His arm reached back, landing on Paris’s back, and feeling the omega purring “I couldn't care less if you Jesus Christ himself. You and your little gang of friends have been harassing and stalking my friend.” The alpha bristled. [M/N] continued before he had the chance to reply. “It’s fucking disgusting for you all to keep harassing him, even after he rejected your advances. You know that’s how you get a restraining order, or, better yet, a harassment charge.”

The alpha’s face fell as a snarl overcame his features. “You!” The surrounding people gasped, some laughing at the alpha’s ugly face. The male’s face grew red with rage. “You have no reason to speak to me like that! You're just some lowly beta, you have no right to come between this!” The man suddenly stepped forward, his fist clenched and raised in some intimidation tacit. He suddenly smirked. “Someone needs to put you in your place.”

Predictably, the alpha swung his fist toward his face. [M/N] quickly grabbed the man's fist. The alpha’s strength could hardly compare to his. [E/C] eyes met dark brown eyes as the omega squeezed. 

The alpha screamed, his other hand shooting up in a pathetic attempt to pry [M/N]’s fingers off. His knees started to collapse into themselves as he folded in pain. Seconds passed as the alpha cried, completely humiliating himself in front of the entire campus. Everyone stared, their whispers ranging from the alpha’s pathetic state to the supposed beta’s strength. [M/N] stood towering over the withering alpha, his gaze devoid of emotions.

It reminded him of the times when he’d had to prove himself to the alphas on base. The alphas who acted all high and mighty, only to end up sobbing at his feet for mercy. 

[M/N] finally relented, letting the alpha’s still-clenched fist go. The poor man fell to his knees, holding his now bleeding fist as he sobbed. His nails must have dug deep into the palm of his hand for blood to spill. Regardless, [M/N] just watched the depressing scene without a lick of remorse.

Everyone watched the scene with interest. Their phones set off, clicking pictures and taking videos of the scene. Their whispers and jeers circulated the air. [M/N] hummed in satisfaction. “I wonder…” He drawled, bending down just low enough to reach the alpha’s ear, yet loud enough for any students close enough to hear. “How does it feel to get your ass handed to you by an omega?”

i headcanon like a LOT of the isle to be illiterate and innumerate, and to have handwriting that's more or less equivalent to a toddler. ik that it's canon that the isle had a school, but for kids who prided themselves for being non conformist and rule breaking, i doubt that any of them actually went to school that often - especially for those that had to spend time stocking their parents stores and what not. and i don't think the quality of education would've been that high on the isle anyway, considering that canonically the villains are bad at anything productive or constructive for a good society

for instance, i think that carlos and evie are the only ones fully literate in the core4. i think carlos would've been one of those kids that just taught themself to read at like. age 3 or 4. the same way he ended up teaching himself how to hack and whatever. and evie was homeschooled by the evil queen who probably would've taught her how to write because it's important in the courtship process for writing letters to her prince, then for writing declarations and whatever as a queen

i think that mal wouldn't have a reading level any higher than like. a 6 year old. which is when she like made her little isle gang and what not. i think the only words she could read and spell correctly would be the words in the spell book, but not because she learnt how to read words phonetically, she just memorised what each word was, in the way that it's reported that gen alpha are being taught to read. but once she came to auradon and saw it necessary to fit in there (especially as ben's gf) she suddenly became a lot more self conscious about her reading level and spelling ability

i think jay would've had a similar if not worse reading level than mal. and i think uma would have memorised words similar to mal, but instead the ones on her mother's menu, rather than being able to read or write properly

Ngl this is actually so me, I love this idea so much- But the best part is the fact that I actually worked with kids for almost 2 years, and my friends club has us interacting with kids too... -> He grew up as an only child and I’m assuming he didn’t have a bunch of friends when he was growing up so I don’t think he would be the absolute best with kids, but still better than others

-> They might end up gravitating towards you since you’re just kinda confused along with them, trying to explain to him not every kid grew up with their future of running a family company.

-> Will totally laugh when he sees how freaked out you are with these little (gremlins) kids trying to get your attention and asking if your any more fun than Mr.Business (Which they had nicknamed Reo) -> Will eventually learn and get them to leave you alone, after almost 10 minutes of you trying to hide behind him or anywhere else in this room so they can’t talk to you

-> Ends up helping them instead with other things like reading and math stuff, not the brain rot of skibidi toilet (thank god)

-> That night you two had ended up going out to dinner with his parents as they wanted to have a nice sit down meal while they talked about what was possibly coming up in the future, including your future with Reo, and kids. He smiled and took your hand in his.

-> Attempts to try something once he realizes that you're actually pretty horrible with kids, let's just say the soccer he tried to play with them didn’t go all that well.. And you may or may not have had to get over your fear a little since a bunch of crying kids kept coming over to you

-> To which he figured that this wasn’t the way to go about it so he just put on some random movie he remembers from when he was a kid, too bad it was one of the ones from his flight to Spain when he was younger and it was all in Spanish. (It’s okay, they had fun trying to figure out what the hell it said, and it kept them entertained for quite a bit of time.)

-> Once the whole future and children conversation came up with his parents, he could only roll his eyes.

GUYS I AM READY TO MAKE THIS MOVIE MY WHOLE PERSONALITY

Going in I was a bit weary since I did in fact watch the original on broadway, and honestly, it didnt really click for me. Don’t get me wrong I LOVED the story and characters but I just never felt emerged, either due to the theater setting or its break-neck pacing. Luckily this movie works WAY better for me, and thats mostly due to them extending the runtime of act 1 to nearly double its length. We really get to breathe and be with these characters, and surprisingly I never once felt bored it was all so well made and paced.

The biggest concern I had though was that they were going to play down the charm of the original to make it “less broadway” and appeal to broader audiences. Mostly because I watched the new Mean Girls movie be so ashamed of being a musical that it got me worried for the whole genera. Luckily they didn’t they turned the campy charm up to 11, with full group choreography and some insanely creative set designs (Dancing Through Life). Like these are the EXACT VIBES I wanted from this movie.

One of my favorite parts of this movie is actually the production. Specifically the set design and filming, where they actual made almost all of the sets irl. They planted thousands of poppies just for the opening number, they actually made Munchkinland and Shiz, it’s all real. This movie also just looks great (ignoring some lighting) like the colors were POPING OFF the screen colorful especially in the beginning of “What is This Feeling” this movie is a visual treat. They really kept CGI to a minimum (obviously the animals but whatever) in order to pay homage to its theater roots. And it looks absolutely PHENOMINAL huge props to the team on that. Secondly they filmed the singing in direct, meaning no voice overs. And that weirdly didn't sound off at all the singing quality was amazing

that reminds me Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were SO GOOD. They ate, they slayed, they Cooked, they every-other-gen-alpha-term-of-praise-I-can-think-of. Their casting just fits the roles so well with a 110% commitment coming from both of them. Cynthia’s Elpheba might actual be my favorite interpretation of the character I’ve seen. Also the part they added with the original actresses (Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth) interacting with the new ones was maybe the most fan-service thing in this whole movie and I was here for it I gasped in the theater along with my friends.

Like I can’t overstate enough how much I ENJOYED this movie (I guess an essay long Tumblr rant will do) theres just an infectious enthusiasm and passion radiating off the screen. It really feels like a movie made with love, like everyone making this wanted to make it.

I can’t recommend enough that you go watch it if your a fan of musicals or broadway you'll have a ball with this one. 9/10.

Hey, I'm a member of the church and enby. It's been rough ever since I came out. I'm still a teen, but all the talk about being sealed in the temple and God only creating men and women has really been hard. Do you have any advice?

First I'm going to address the idea that God only created men & women and then I'll follow that with some advice.

The Bible states that “God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he them; male and female created he them.” (Gen 1:27)

God creates a person and calls it adam, which is Hebrew for “human” or “mankind.” Adam isn’t even necessarily male. 

That the first person created in this story is a ‘human’ or ‘mankind’ is a big clue that this story is allegorical and meant to represent all of us. Adam and Eve are there to teach us lessons about the purposes of life.

One way to think of “male and female” is that these are the two options, God made the male and God made the female and that’s it. However, another way to look at this is one end of a spectrum and the other end of a spectrum, and everything in between, like when we use the first & last letter of the alphabet to mean everything, A to Z, or Alpha & Omega.

Biologists say that the idea of 2 sexes is overly simplistic, that actually it is a spectrum. Whether you’re looking at X & Y chromosomes, at genes, at hormones, at internal or external reproductive organs, or secondary sex characteristics, the reality is not as simple as either M or F.  

Even the other parts of the creation which are presented as a binary are actually bimodal, meaning most incidences are concentrated around two ends of the spectrum but they aren’t the only option. For example, God made day & night, but there’s also sunrises and sunsets. God separated the sky from the water, but the sky has clouds which hold water. Separating the water from the dry land still includes marshes, bogs, & swamps where the water & land are mixed. 

The binaries presented in the creation story are not binaries but spectrums, and are pleasing unto God. Why would we not expand that lesson to include other parts of creation, including people, especially since that fits what we find is the reality? Gender is a spectrum, sexual orientation is a spectrum.

You are not alone, you are not the only one who faces this situation. Thank heavens we have the internet and ability to connect with others. It’s good to find friends who are nonbinary and Mormon because they’ll get you in a way that most others won’t. I’ve found interacting with other queer people really helps me feel better and normal about my own concerns and feelings.

You have claim to two great histories and legacies–LDS & LGBT+. Both the queer community and LDS church, in different ways, teach me about being kind and accepting others.

This church teaches that we’re each entitled to pray and seek revelation and confirmation. You can pray to ask if God loves you, all of you. You can seek confirmation for decisions on your path. Your Heavenly Parents love you as you are and for who you are. You are precious to them. Jesus loves you and offers the blessings of the gospel to you. His ministry elevates those who are on the margins.

We are that we might have joy! That is a beautiful teaching. Find joy. Take steps towards it.

Go slowly, or rather, I mean, at your own pace. You don’t have to run faster than you want as you’re figuring things out. In fact, I hope you can think of this as an opportunity for deeper happiness and more joy and meaning in your life. People who fit the binary have handed to them in what ways they should seek meaning & happiness, but you get to explore and learn much of this on your own.

Mormons have a lot of expectations regarding dress and appearance, but it’s okay to do things your own way. Want a short haircut, fine. Want to dye your hair blue, terrific. Want to wear pants, okay. Want to wear colorful shirts, do it. Want to wear bow ties & suspenders, perfect. Clothes are an example that much of gender is a social construct, clothes are not inherently gendered. If you don't fit the gender norms don't feel obligated to stick to the gender constructs.

I suspect 2nd hour is most troubling as it’s when Mormons segregate by gender. It’s okay to skip and spend time on the couch or take a walk around the building. If Sunday School is about a topic that is causing you stress, I don’t think forcing yourself to sit there uncomfortable is going to yield a lot of benefit. Don’t let the good you could be getting be swamped by the negative, find ways to remove or minimize those things that cause you trouble. Recognize it’s going to be complicated and frustrating.

Even things in the gospel that seem simple to others can be difficult for queer people. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore that feeling. In those situations I ask myself these 3 questions — “Does that sound like me, do I resemble that remark?” — “Does this sound like the God that I know?” — “Does this fit with the great commandment to love one another?”

Being a nonbinary Latter-day Saint often means hungering, aching to the depths of your soul, just to be acknowledged, to have any of our theology reference you at all. One small thing you can do at church is simply saying 'a child of God' instead of 'a son or daughter of God.' Instead of praying, “Dear Heavenly Father,” try saying “Dear God” as a gender-neutral title.

When someone figures out they're nonbinary, things shift in ways they may not have anticipated. Be curious about yourself. For example, maybe you hated shopping for clothes, but actually maybe you just hated shopping only in the men's or the women's section because that's very limiting. Now the whole store is open, perhaps clothes shopping can be enjoyable as you get to express your gender in what you wear.

None of us comes forth from the womb fully-formed—we all grow, transform, and become. Those who are nonbinary get to do it in unique ways and I hope you, and those around you, appreciate the wonderful journey it is. Being nonbinary is not a mistake, it is not good or bad, it just is. You choose whether it’ll be a blessing or a curse in your life.

As most things are, the truth is in the in between.

What I mean is the two takes I’ve seen in the post-power bottom-Phil timeline:

1. Dnp are over sharing their sex life after saying they wouldn’t bc they don’t care about what we think so long as the gen public doesn’t bug them

2. Dnp are obvs making a joke to play off the silliness of the innuendo (which they’ve done longgg before they came out just they just find that funny) and anyone reading into it is by stepping their boundary of not wanting people to demand the juicy details of their person/treat their sex life like the latest hot gossip.

It’s obviously Dan playing to get a rise out of us and a rise out of Phil. But like- it’s funny to them to joke about it. Phil was dying at it. A joke without context is like a gen alpha brainrot meme.

Dan was tsk tsking at us for taking it seriously. But it was obvs like the whole toilets facing each other- they’re the ones who brought it up and made it a thing. Power-bottom Phil was DEFINITELY not a common joke or theme running through the phandom previously.

All the same, Dnp are treating it as a lighthearted joke like “oh hehe I’m teasing Phil for the all of these sex implications about us” and I think we should follow their lead. It is tee hee silly bc those two are our beloved internet clowns.

It’s the whole “labels” thing they don’t like. I mean, Dan had a whole section about it in BIG! And while Phil hasn’t expressed it in the way Dan does, he seems to feel similarly.

Basically no “omg Phil you’re such a bottom hehe Dan has a big dick 😋” (especially in areas they can see) and we’re fine.

Dan’s sexuality reveal started with lighthearted comments for him to test the waters (“wtf is your sexuality” “sexually ambiguous nerd” “and something else in my mouth ((remember how we made that one into a bigger deal than he thought it’d be and it got messy?))” )

Let’s sit back and let them plop some pebbles into to phannie pond. If the TIT era has taught us anything: it’s different now.
