Hey Nina đ,
Wilmon + 22 for the Spotify wrapped ficlet
Hi Sophia đ Thank you so much! I'm not gonna lie, this is one of the hardest songs to wilmonify but, I did my best. 22 on my Wrapped was Gemini Moon by ReneĂ© Rapp which is genuinely one of my favorite songs by her. I could have used one line, because there are lines I can wilmonify easily, but I felt like that would be a injustice to the song. So instead, I wrote something that is more in line with the meaning and spirit of the song: having a gay crisis.
PS. There is also an nsfw sequel to this that i wrote before writing this but I feel like that would get me exiled from Tumblr (it shows wille having sex with someone who isn't Simon). But let me know if you want that lol
Thereâs a fluttering in Willeâs stomach. Itâs been a while since he felt anything like it â the nerves, the excitement, the speechlessness.
Deep brown eyes keep finding him from across the table, across the room, sparkling with something that Wille canât quite place.
He only talked to him for ten minutes, maybe less than, but in those ten minutes his brain short-circuited at least three times. His smile enchanting, a voice like silk, Wille didnât even have to try to keep all his attention focussed on him. Because thereâs something about this man, Simon, that has totally enraptured Wille.
Like when he laughs, and throws his head back, exposing brown skin that Wille imagines himself exploring. Or how beautiful he looks with a pink blush on his cheeks.
And itâs not just his looks. Even those ten, way too short, blissful minutes in which they talked about music, mostly the music Simon makes, make Wille want to know more about who this man is. There was a fire with which Simon talked, eyes gleaming as he talked about experimenting with different instruments that he didnât think he was going to like, but ended up loving, trying to find a way to make it all work together.
Theyâd been the best ten minutes of Willeâs life, until Sabrina had come up to them, taking Willeâs hand to introduce him to some of her friends.
Sabrinaâs hand is cold in his own, and he kind of wants to let go, because holding her hand is starting to feel uncomfortable. He feels like heâs no longer in control of his own body, the way he canât use that hand for anything. He feels awkward moving around, following her like a dog on a leash.
Sabrina does her best, Wille knows that. He does. He notices how Sabrina keeps trying to include him on the conversation, talking about what heâs up to nowadays, the trips theyâve got planned together, smiling and laughing and telling others how proud she is of Wille and the work heâs doing for his non-profit. And when theyâre alone, she keeps whispering dirty things into his ear that should have an effect on Wille, especially when she looks up at him with doe-like blue eyes. But all Wille can do is nod and hum along distracted, while he keeps searching for Simon in the crowd of people. And without fail, every time Simon looks back, his heart stops.
Heâs still looking for an excuse to get away from her so he can talk to Simon more â heâd love to talk more to Simon â when Sabrina turns to him.
âBaby,â she says, placing a hand on his arm that he barely feels. Wille tears his eyes away from Simon and his beautiful smile, to find Sabrina looking at him with half-lidded eyes, a sly smirk on her face. âHow about we call it a night?â
And what else can Wille do but nod and agree? As much as he doesnât want to leave, as much as he wants to stay and get to know Simon better, itâs her he came with.
And itâs her he has to go home with.

How have you been?
I appreciate this -- it's very kind to ask. I'm putting the answer under a cut because it's an honest one, and I get that not everyone is comfy reading about more serious medical/health stuff.
Not great!
Some years back, I suffered a pretty significant brain hemorrhage that resulted in permanent damage. I had a smaller one about a year ago, and possibly another in the summer. This is all due to a genetic condition.
I made a good recovery, but part of that was (is) accepting that I will never go back to being the person I was. And that really fucking sucks. Among other things, my short-term memory, speaking, word-finding, reading, and short-term memory are all severely impacted. I am bursting with the desire to create, but much of the time it feels like my hands are bound and my mouth taped shut. Writing is something I was always pretty good at -- I've been doing it since childhood -- and it's demoralizing to see it ripped away so easily.
I would love to be more connected to fandom spaces, but it's hard to feel comfortable talking to people. It's embarrassing to repeat myself, forget shit, talk too much, mix up words, say things the wrong way... People on the internet are not known for extending grace and patience. What I miss the most is being able to read tons of other works and leave comments. Nowadays I have to use a voice reader, take notes, frequent breaks, constantly restart chapters, and potentially wait ages for another 'good' day. I genuinely get a lot of joy out of uplifting others, but it's deeply uncomfortable to do all of that and then spend the next week worrying that I still managed to mess it up somehow. I was already weird and autistic before any of this and let me tell you brain damage has not improved things!
Currently, I am awaiting surgery for a different thing relating to the same genetic condition. My body is not digesting food, and it causes a lot of pain. As a bonus, malnutrition also messes with your brain function. This, too, sucks.
(For the record, my wife has instructions on how to update this account if anything more permanent were to happen to me).
I think about my writing almost every day. I try to pick at my drafts whenever I can make my words work. It's cliché, but every time I get a comment or someone like you comes by and asks me a question, it feels very revitalizing. It tells me I was once capable of creating something that someone else thought was kinda neat. Maybe I still am. I'm fairly unknown in this fandom and very rarely get asks or a bunch of comments or anything, so every time an AO3 email comes in it is a genuinely wonderful surprise. The one perk of brain damage is that I may forget to archive the email and then get to experience that wonderful surprise several times over!
(If I have ever replied to a comment twice: I'm very sorry. I will do it again).
I hope this does not discourage anyone from leaving one, because I regularly go back and re-read them. They mean a lot to me, especially right now. I don't have anyone to talk to about Dragon Age and fic, and I am not comfortable with the people in my life knowing how many hundreds of hours I have spent thinking about elves having sex, so it's really nice to live in a world where I can gush with someone else for a moment.
Thanks for taking the time to ask.

.Ë DIARY ENTRY .Ë
-Reader: FEM reader  -TW: none  -Character: Kurasame Susaya (FF Type 0)  -Summary: Some of the notes he keeps in a journal reveal how much he genuinely cares... -Word count : 520 -A/N: Iâm aware that the Type 0 fandom is quite âdormantâ, then, why not indulge myself and write something? I looooveee this man, Iâve drawn him many times, and ofc I also have his side story box :3
âEntry n. XXIX Â 19:45...
âFinally, thereâs some quiet in the building, something Iâve always longed for after another stressful day here. Itâs almost comical in a way, it has always been this way since the first days I set foot in Akademia. Â Itâs been quite a while since we first met that mornig in class when we introduced ourselves -- one of the few moments, in fact, that I can recall... Itâs a blurry memory, one I find difficult to grasp clearly, but itâs there, just like an anchor. And despite how guarded Iâve become through the years, sheâs always been able to read me like the palm of her glove. Even after the first impression I had of her, I knew that she would be trouble, a menace along with Kazusa and Emina...(note to my future self: avoid those three together). Nevertheless, she remained close, somehow, she cut through the coldness and the walls Iâve built around myself, making me feel less like a weapon and more... like a person.
I see the way she carries herselfânot just in the field, yes, but especially how she handles those reckless students. Compassionate, yet firm⊠Weâre not so different, after all. But where I maintain distance with each one of them, she brings warmth. Her approach makes her painfully attached to those cadets and that kind of attachment... itâs dangerous, highly destructive, even. Orience doesnât allow for that kind of softnessânot without cost nowadays...
After all these years, she still waits for me. When I return from the field, bruised or bloody, itâsâŠa pleasant feeling, comforting, something I canât exactly put into words. To have someone to come back to. To her, Iâm more than just the Ice Reaper. I donât know how she does itâŠhow she sees something in me beyond what this war has shaped me to be.
I hope time may not ruin this journal.
Her cadetsâ futures rest on her shoulders, and she carries that weight as if itâs nothing. But I see how it wears on her. Itâs in how her smile falters when the day is done, or in the quiet moments when she thinks no one is watching. And yet, wherever we met, Iâm blinded by that determination in her eyes. Y/N keeps moving forward, driven by the belief that âThereâs always something beautiful out there, waiting to be found and cared for".
Even in this harsh world, even when we so easily forget the dead, even when we collect their tags and carry them to the schoolâs graveyard, she still believes in them, in the cadets.
Itâs admirable,
 truly.â
ââ ..
For a brief moment, Kurasame stops, his pen stills as he glances at the small, light blue present sitting on his desk. The colorful ribbon is a strong contrast to the ambiance of his quarters, causing the commander to huff faintly while shaking his head.
 "I donât deserve this"
He mutters under his breath, the words lingering in the quietness of the room. His mask has been long forgotten next to a framed picture of them he holds dear.

đč the worst roleplay trend i ever saw
đ the one thing i will never do in roleplay
đ three blogs i couldn't live without
MY EXPERIENCE IN THE ROLEPLAYING COMMUNITY || Accepting
Worst trend
The worst trend I've seen isn't really that bad, as I don't really keep up with trends and any really bad ones tend to die out before they reach me I guess??? So, it'd probably have to be the tiny blogs people had for a while, back when you actually had to use blog themes and couldn't just navigate on the dash like we do nowadays. People would have these fucking 500x300px boxes for their whole blog content and while it could be pretty, the accessibility of it was a NIGHTMARE. I don't even have particularly bad eyes but sometimes I'd be squinting at them and their crunchy graphics like 'wtf is happening in this rp rn..?'
Thing I'll never do in RP
Outside of my usual no-go's in my rules, I'd never do a plot where someone's love fully fixes another character's trauma. While I understand why that's an appealing cute lil idea, I remember being FUCKED UP by that when I was younger when seeing people write characters with similar things to what I had but WOW their trauma was solved by some smooches. It's just not how things work, however 'cute' the idea might be, that shit takes time and is messy.
Three blogs I couldn't live without
THIS IS SO HARD- I love my moots so fucking much smh, I can't just do three. I'll at least just stick to doing my mains, just because I'd otherwise not be stopped. @compelledcurator - Feli is legitimately my oldest friend, we've been besties for 17+ years now and it's been a GIFT seeing how she has improved and grown over the years. We're often sharing our rps with each other, going on call and discussing how excited we are about our plots with each other and other people. She does such an amazing job of capturing her characters thoughts and emotions, and also will back and forth on plots so easily with me. A forever fave, she's fucking stuck with me. @ficklefables - Sai is an amazing writer and while I was nervous to write with them at first, we became fast friends tbh couldn't imagine not having them around to write or chatter with???? I always get excited seeing their content on the dash, and I love getting to throw little tidbits out at each other about our nerds. To me, their iterations of their muses are perfect and they're another forever fave that's stuck with my sorry ass. @auroradicit / @hopedefined - While we've not done tons IC here on tumblr, I know Rory as a passionate skilled writer and a LOVELY person, you can tell that they put care into what they write and I respect that so much. Nothing has my attention more than someone who actually loves their muses, cause SAME. Not often someone matches my energy on that shit ahahaha. @bucketfullofocs - Star is a sweetheart who has been there for me in times they really didn't have to, in times we were practically still strangers. Since then I've come to consider them a great friend. Outside of that, they do a great job with their OCs, integrating them in interesting ways into different universes, ensuring they all have unique traits and personalities. Absolutely worth the follow. @cr1msonpeak - Absolutely STUNNINGLY talented writer and a joy to chatter to ooc. We're both very wordy people and it's great to have someone who ends up writing a small novel alongside me ahaha, especially when it's all so artfully written! We haven't talked TONS but whenever we have it's been a joy.

Thank you for giving my old Mahiru post some love again. I remember this one! And honestly I thought it had more notes than it did. (Proof that tumblr overwhelms you with the notes on your posts.)
I don't hold it (the post) in such high regard today. I think it's pretty plain, but maybe that's because I take this point of view for granted. I think the meat of it is exploring how Mahiru put trust in Fuyuhiko in that moment... Especially as a girl who repeated that she couldn't trust men to do shit... And how brave it made her look. In the heart of action, and possibly because she was faced with her own mistakes, Mahiru's convictions led her to not only put on a brave face but also to believe in Fuyuhiko.
I like that Mahiru is a character who doesn't shy away from telling others the truth to their faces. It's a realistic trait that a lot of people will read as being aggressive, confrontational and such, but from Mahiru's point of view comes from a place of believing in others. I believe that if I tell you the truth you can learn from it and change. I believe in you enough to face you, and not to abandon you.
One main aspect I'd correct about this original post is my misremembering that the very sweet, much softer aspects of Mahiru's personality aren't shown in DR2. It's true that she was more of a softie in DR3, which can be explained not just by the story not having too much time for her, but also by the different setting that led her to behave in different ways. Meeting new people in a life or death situation doesn't exactly put the same pressure on you as... high-school. However, I think it's very obvious that Mahiru is presented with this "tsundere" aspect - a very surface level iteration of the trope, which contrary to what a lot of Danganronpa does, does not exaggerate her traits and instead portrays a fairly realistic teenage girl who doesn't want to admit her feelings. One of the arguments I've had about Mahiru that I feel the strongest about is one in which I had to point out that Mahiru's teenage girl experience is very relatable to people who have been teenage girls in the past - from not wanting to admit when you have positive feelings, to feeling pressured to be more responsible and mature by the men raising you, which both go hand in hand. And within this portrayal, Mahiru is presented as particularly soft. She has a strong sense of needing to be helpful, she blushes easily, she's passionate about seeing people's smiles and once you get her to lower her shield, she's a very sincere individual. The exploration of her sincere wants possibly makes her look like even more of a softie than she was in DR3.
(Ooooh noooo this is turning into another long pooost, from my cellular telephooooooone)
Ultimately, I'm just trying to comment on that old post I wrote. So I'll point out that if I sat down to actively write about Mahiru nowadays, I would most likely shift most of my focus to the unfortunately very common perception that "she hates men soooo bad". It's one of those takes that feel like a direct attack to my person - contrary to any random disagreement or misconception of a fictional character, which doesn't affect me personally - because it takes a very realistic depiction of something teenage girls are put through and insults them for it. Not just that, it also uses those feelings as an excuse to argue against feminism, with the usual "feminists hate men" argument. I don't think it's fine that I have to sit here and randomly see some new user on a Discord server tell me that this experience that comes directly from the misogyny we endure is instead women being the sexist ones! And how many times will this user soon reveal that "actually I never did Mahiru's FTEs. I didn't even know she talked about her dad." "Actually I just saw a Let's Play in 2015 and haven't seen the game since." Not playing the game fully is not a moral failing, but I think there is a lot to say about how this reputation was put on Mahiru's back and how willing so many people were to accept it.
I'll make a quick mention of it, since I recently replayed the game... Mahiru never hates men. Like that's straight up not a thing. (I'd bring up "Were you thinking of Tenko?" as a joke but the same people that argue the way I mentioned above will say she is in fact WORSE than Tenko in that regard. Huh?) Mahiru calls out the guys' bullshit to their face and has little patience for it - this has nothing to do with hating men and is in fact just a result of being more emotionally mature. So like, she's literally right for it. The more negative thing she actually does is assume that men can't take care of themselves. She is to some extent proven right when she notes that Hajime, for example, doesn't have the habit of looking after his clothes - but Hajime, being a resident Decent Person, defends his position that he can take care of it himself. In saying that, not only does he defend his own ability to be responsible, but he also doesn't put that burden on Mahiru. Although Hajime is like that, Mahiru explains that she is used to having to look after her irresponsible father. The one man who raised her. Her reference for what men are like. This man is a useless bum, so when she meets other men, she expects the same (and puts the burden of responsibility on her own shoulders! She's literally so nice about it!) - this is NORMAL. This HAPPENS. Please please please extend some patience towards teenage girls for once in your life. This is literally her dad's fault. She will learn. She does learn. She just needs some time to adapt. We've all had misconceptions based on the way we were raised as teenagers. She is a growing girl, and this is a common result of the way girls are mistreated. The narrative that Mahiru hates men is actively a label the patriarchy needs to put on these representations of girls to ensure that it keeps power over them - and so many people, regardless of gender, are playing right into it.
And if you want to say that it's not that deep, you're right! This is extremely surface level. Mahiru's real personality is extremely easy to find out about, and the treatment of any woman who calls men out as a man-hater is extremely common. None of this is deep because it was bound to happen. But the second someone tries to explain it, you assume they're making things too deep, because you're facing the deep-seated things YOU have to unlearn.
Anyway BONK amirite

THE IRON FIST TOURNAMENT IS BACK
My thoughts on Tekken 8, as a lifelong Tekken player.
Tekken is a series of games that have been in my life for..... well, as long as I can remember playing games. We had Tekken 3 for the PS1, and the biggest moment in my life for gaming was getting a PlayStation 2 in 2002 at 5 years old, and one of the first 3 games we got for it was Tekken 4. To say I have been impatiently waiting for the newest installment, Tekken 8, would be an understatement. I even voted for it as my most anticipated new game in The Game Awards 2023, over other games I care about nearly as much. Does this new title hit the mark, or was it a disappointment?
I am happy to say it blew my expectations out of the water!
Installment after installment, it would be easy to think "It's a 2D fighting game, how far can you really take it in a new title this far in?" and, although I could easily point you to the absolutely insane story so far in Tekken, a game that at this point is as much about "The Iron Fist Tournament" as the Fast & Furious franchise is about illegal street racing(definitely stole that comparison from senpapigabe), where I feel Tekken 8 really shines is the way the game FEELS to play. Somehow, Bandai Namco has tweaked the combat to the point that everything, from every punch, every kick, every grab, and every combination has the PERFECT amount of weight to it. It is easily one of the most satisfying fighting games I have ever played in the way it feels. Add in the additions to the rage and heat systems, and the gameplay not only feels weighty, but also crazy fast paced, making for an incredibly satisfying flow of gameplay from one fight to the next. The cast of characters is pretty stacked, although at this point in the franchise, I am sure all the DLC characters will just be old characters not in the launch lineup(Todd Howard, this is your fault somehow).
Online gameplay feels great, connections in game are typically stable, and the new online Tekken Lounge is a fun way to see all the players who most definitely are about to demolish you. Unlike a lot of other fighting games nowadays, there are a lot of solid single player modes in this one too! The classic Arcade Mode / Character stories are there and are fun to blow through when you have a few minutes of downtime per run, and the new Arcade Quest, replacing the old ranked offline arcade mode, is so freaking fun, and although its cheesy in the way its written, its just cheesy enough and doesn't force you to have your hand held. Speaking of offline modes.....
Good LORD, the story mode of this game is peak.
I don't want to spoil anything about the story, but, it is a story that knows when to take itself seriously and when not to, explores the lasting effects on Jin's mind after games' worth of havoc, the beautiful father and son relationship he has with Kazuya(didn't see that coming, did you?) and doesn't overstay it's welcome.
Overall, Tekken 8 is marvelous, and one of my favorites in the franchise (and probably my favorite since the PS2).
If you are a fighting game fan, or ESPECIALLY if you are a Tekken fan, I definitely recommend picking it up when you can. I almost guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Thanks for reading my first game write up on the new blog! Feel free to follow me on Tumblr to keep up to date on when I post, or follow me on Twitch to hang out in a live stream with my loving degenerate community. â Finn

I donât want to go too in-depth about this because I donât want to come off as hateful towards TLTS however I will say (with no disrespect towards people that like it and esp not the people that worked on it) that I feel the reason for its sudden resurgence has less to do about the show *in particular* but more how it presents the Looney Tunes cast in a consistent domestic setting with consistent charactersâwhich is much more easily consumable for fandom than shorts with VERY little continuity and characterizations that could depend on director, year, or even just that short.
this has been ruminating in my inbox since July (and i am SO SORRY⊠i have 200+ unanswered asks + DMs i promise it is not a purposeful disregard iâm just busy and easily distracted :â)) and i wanted to hold onto it just because 1) people who have been following me for quite awhile know my opinions on TLTS by now and i donât want to keep beating a dead horse and 2) i feel a little guilty critiquing it because a lot of complaints do come to personal taste and i donât want to discredit the work that went into the show⊠and also just know itâs a pretty beloved staple by fandom spaces and donât want to engage in any drama.
BUT! i figured iâd throw my two cents in now because iâve been doing a rewatch with a friend who hasnât seen it before/only exposure to LT is through me (and rewatch as in not just skimming the Porky and Daffy episodes like i have been doing after i first finished the show in 2019) and i think itâs helped to give me a bit of a new perspective through a fresh pair of eyes
i agree with your point 100000000% and canât say anything you didnât already say better. i also sense that itâs easier to get into as an âoutsiderâ. the more i delve into TLTS, the less i find myself enjoying it, but i CAN laugh at it if i distance myself enough from the source material/integrity of the characters at hand. i could definitely see myself enjoying it much more if these were different character altogether⊠but that i make such a mental compromise to begin with (which is more of a âmeâ problem than with the actual show) obviously demonstrates some disenfranchisement with the show. if i truly just try to view it for what it is, i find myself laughing at it much more. it does have some genuinely funny writing and i am a sucker for Jessica Borutskiâs designs in the first season
going back to my earlier point though, i think itâs easier for people to get into who arenât familiar with the characters. LT is a strange beast in that i think itâs structure (or lack thereof) is alien to a lot of people so used to serialization/episodic formats nowadays that have some semblance of continuity. in the originals, the characters differ depending on the director, the writer, the culture of the time, etc. even, say, two Daffy shorts released in the same year by the same director can drastically differ if theyâre written by two different writers (like compare a Daffy short written by Mike Maltese to one written by Tedd Pierce, even if it was by the same director at the same time. there are going to be different approaches and nuances.)
as such, these characters are a lot more abstract and difficult to pin down. sure, there are recurring traits; Bugs is almost always witty and sharp in some way. Daffy is one of the most varied characters in the history of animation, but remains a lack of impulse control/general charisma throughout his career. while Porky has a tendency to get swept up in violent impulses depending on the context/director/writer, he is generally approached as mild mannered. there are definite traits that are identifiable, but these traits are INCREDIBLY malleable. the original shorts are so dependent on the context of their creators, their background, their culture that itâs impossible to view them from a lens of sheer objectivity. especially with the original shorts boasting so many different attitude and approaches at the same time! these cartoons are built on variety and subjectivity
therefore, i think modern audiences arenât exactly equipped for this/such a format is understandably alien. and on social media especially, in a day and age where we feel we have to rationalize and justify our every waking thought, movement, impulse and so on, we try to make an explanation for everything or simplify something down so it fits our above strife for objectivity. what iâm getting at is that i think itâs (understandably) difficult for people to accept this at times contradictory variety, and itâs more comfortable to pin these characters down to easy, simple, identifiable traits and buzzwords. however, the original characters were not made with this train of thought in mind. and because the originals are so full of nuance and personal experience and background and so on, itâs nearly impossible to replicate that to the same effect
so, TLTS simplifies. Bugs is now the aggravated straight man who just wants to be left alone. Daffy is an inconsiderate, idiotic rube. Porky is a complete pushover who is made to be the butt of the joke many times to a degree that is even unintentional. little personality traits exuded in the originals (Chuck Jonesâ interpretations of Bugs and Daffy, the former just wanting to find peace and messing with his adversaries if only provoked, Daffy letting his impulses get the best of him and come off as inconsiderate in the name of self preservation, Porkyâs mild manners being misconstrued for a lack of self defense) are filtered through a more objective lens that can be digested by audiences with more easeâespecially audiences unaccustomed to the nuances of the originals.
i was surfing around the TLTS wiki one day and saw something that mentioned (paraphrasing of course) âTinaâs hairstyle is âthe Rachelâ style, based off of Rachel from Friendsâ and while it was just an innocuous sentence likely included with no real basis behind it, i think it perfectly described my issues with the show. instead of allowing these characters to exist on their own or own up to their genuine roots, purposeful sitcom clichĂ©s and other brief summations of characters are applied instead. rather than letting Tina exist as her prototypal self (RIP Marisol Mallard) which was arguably more unique, we give her âthe Rachelâ because itâs an identifiable synonym with sitcoms and comedic shenanigans and therefore clues the audience that, hey! this is a wacky sitcom. and i agree that is a smart association, but it just feels like an injustice. the LT characters are approximations and buzzwords rather than a genuine demonstration of what made them so compelling and iconic in the first place
please note that despite my ramblings about objectivity vs subjectivity, this is all just my opinion and i again feel a bit remorseful for even expressing it. i truly do think the show is funny on its own and am always happy to see increased interest in the franchise. i know the decisions and work behind the show were not as cut and dry as âTina has a similar hairstyle to a fictional sitcom icon therefore the show is a representation of sitcom clichĂ©sâ, and as a person who works on cartoons myself and understands the thought and care that go into these decisions i feel responsible for my armchair diagnosing. so, i ask that you take all of this with a grain of salt. itâs 99% my own opinion speaking. but i cannot agree with your original point enough, and feel that it is a show so unobjectively worshipped through its ease of access thanks to a comparative lack of complexity (as well as the fact that itâs not 1944 anymore and our media landscape/culture and how we interpret said media is much different now than it was then.)
i think itâs a show that presents the characters in a way where theyâre easier to accept at face value, and itâs easier to follow that rather than look at a smorgasbord of options and backgrounds and base your opinions off of that. a lot of the original shorts have impressions of the characters rely on nuances, implications, and subtleties that go unspoken. shows and cartoons are much more dialogue driven and objective and often explicitly state how the audience should feel about the characters rather than, again, letting them make those decisions for themselves, which i feel is another point in why the show is so easy to digest.
iâve rambled WAY TOO MUCH! i again ask once more that you take none of this as fact HAHA. itâs just my pure opinion and outlook, and iâm certainly not without my bias. iâm happy so many people love the show and hope more continue to do so, and iâm enjoying my rewatch of it through a fresh pair of eyes. i just get so caught in particulars that itâs hard for me to enjoy to the fullest extent because of the aforementioned aspects. but again, genuine positivity outweighs negativity, and the fans who love the show and get something meaningful out of it definitely trump my old man yells at cloud bitching. if it gets people into noticing these characters and checking out the originals, thatâs all i can ask for

Anything Goes - A Riverdale Thesis Statement
So, I was listening to "Anything Goes" of the Riverdale album recently to luxuriate in the majesty that is Ashleigh Murray. (She is so sorely missed.)
I find this song to be so deeply important to Riverdale as a way of understanding where it's coming from on all levels.
There are a few songs they've done over the years that I consider to be "thesis statements" for the show. Seventeen is another big one, but let's focus on this one for now. I'll talk about that song another day.
In-depth rambling beneath the cut. <3
I think Anything Goes is appropriately positioned in Season 3 because this is the season where the style of the show starts to reveal itself as more heightened and abstract.
Riverdale, if anything, is a burlesque number. Slowly peeling back its more accessible layers into something entirely unique and strange.
Season 3 is when the show starts to reveal that it's not your typical teen drama and it never was. (This is why a lot of people struggle with this season and drop off. It really is the culling blade. I will release my essay on this in due time.)
Anyway.
For those that might not be aware, "Anything Goes" is the title song of the musical "Anything Goes" by Cole Porter.
Here's the original version in one of my favorite performances of the song by Sutton Foster in a rehearsal. Seriously, she's incredible. (Maybe I just love giant tap numbers, but this fills me with delight every time I see it.)
youtube
In any case, the song's lyrics are about how the times have changed. Standards of morality are lower than ever before. I think that, in its original meaning, it does apply to Riverdale, but there's a bit more to it than that. Let's unpack.
As Cole Porter puts it:
"In olden days a glimpse of stocking was Looked on as something shocking now Heaven knows Anything goes"
This easily applies to the salacious nature of Riverdale, especially in the earlier seasons. I mean, could Cole Porter have even conceived of a kinky lesbian sex scene intercut with violent boxing? Anything goes, indeed.
And sexual stories have a heavy stigma attached to them. Eroticism, though one of the most popular topics and genres since the beginning of time, is often treated as a lesser form of art. Too much sex in your story and it becomes "pornography", a word often spit rather than said.
Moving on.
The second verse says:
"Good authors too who once knew better words Now only use four letter words Writing prose Anything goes"
Though Riverdale doesn't really use a ton of "four letter words", this verse can easily apply to Riverdale's low-brow plots and ideas. Bloody serial killers. Secret siblings. Murder. Mothmen. Etc. Etc.
Horror and melodrama, two of Riverdale's most beloved genres, have also been treated as second-class citizens in the art world for ages. This is especially true nowadays even with the rise of prestige, high-concept horror. The genre, on the whole with notable exceptions, is still treated as a lesser art form.
"The world's gone mad today And good's bad today Black's white today And day's night today And all the guys today That women prize today Are just silly gigolos Anything goes Anything goes"
"Everything is wrong," the song declares. The world is upside down.
A couple of things about this section.
1: It sounds to me like the haters lamenting the state of art and the world today. "I can't believe that show has seven seasons." "It got too weird." Etc. Etc.
2: I feel like the first two lines are a tongue in cheek praise of Camp.
3: The line about the guys of today that women prize makes me think back to my first point about the thirsty nature of this show.
Do I sound insane yet?
Regardless, the lyrics can be taken either sarcastically or sincerely. So, in one version the singer is lamenting the state of affairs and in another, they're delighted with how much freedom there is.
Riverdale obviously falls in the latter interpretation, but I can't help but hear the first one as well because it echoes criticism of the show.
Two more bits I want to mention.
"So though I'm not a great romancer, I Know you're bound to answer when I propose Anything goes"
If I had a criticism of Riverdale, it would be its lack of polish. It might not be the best "romancer" as it were, but oh, how can I reply with anything but an enthusiastic "YES. <3" when it proposes, through its unrelenting, feverish madness that truly, anything goes?
Riverdale hops from genre to genre and style to style with such reckless avarice that I genuinely swoon. It embraces a hedonism and indulgence that "high art" scoffs at. Highly technical works of art, though beautiful and thought-provoking are often quite restrained. They're often very focused on one topic or style. Their limited scope allows for a cleaner execution.
Riverdale pours all of American culture into one giant bowl and hands you a spoon. It's messy and unrefined. It's hard to swallow, at times. It's unbalanced, but god, does it burst with charm and flavor. Maybe my palette, cut on technique and training, was just longing for something that tasted of heart. Either way, I think this is Riverdale's greatest strength.
Finally.
"And all the pains you've got If any brains you've got From those little radios Anything goes Anything goes Anything"
I think this is a cheeky dare to look more deeply at this show. It's daring the listener to meet Riverdale with their heart (their pains) and with whatever brains they might have left after being glued to their "little radios" for so long.
That's definitely not what the original song was saying, but I'm only looking at it in the context of Riverdale.
EDIT**: OMG I TOTALLY FORGOT TO INCLUDE THIS. It's like, half the reason I wrote the post.
So, one more thing about this particular version of the song that makes it fit Riverdale so perfectly.
The style is dark, sexy, and almost angry. It's almost accusatory. This fits in with my statments about how the song dares you into thinking more deeply about it.
It teases you for liking its thirst traps and slasher gore and this tone is not nearly as "Golly!" as the original. No. It's almost somber. It's a dark cabaret number rather than an upbeat tap song.
And this shift in tone is significant.
It mirrors the shift from pie in the sky Americana in the original comics to the dark, gothic vibe of the modern Archieverse and Riverdale itself.
It embraces a smoldering darkness that relishes itself. It's hedonistic and sultry in a way the original was not.
youtube
So, yeah. This song feels like a thesis statement of the show to me. When it comes to Riverdale's genre, style, subject matter, ideas, characters, and everything else...
Anything goes.

3-7 for Yarrow, Reach, Dee, and Lanza :3c
yes... my Excellent Guys
Gonna do my best to make this understandable pff
3. Ask them to describe their love interest.
Yarrow - "Ohh well since we don't have all day, I'll just give you a little something. My dearheart is every bit the cliche 'knight in shining armor' with a nice fun streak of petty violence down the middle. He's got that distinguished sort of handsomeness about him whether he's in armor or lazing around in a nightgown that makes bothering him irresistible - he does like it, I promise! He knows me better than anyone else at this point; we've seen eachother through some extreme lows and have come out the other side stronger for it. I'm still a little amazed he's so genuinely enchanted with me - all of me, even when I'm doing pretty poorly! He makes me blush with how sweet he can be, which i can assure you is a feat at my age. Plus he's got fantastic big-dick energy and it's well-earned - wait where are you going? Too much? Ah well-"
Reach - "...I'd rather not say. He and I are on... uncertain terms. I'm trying to make things right. Somehow. I really don't know if it's possible. He's just... I need to repay him for all he's done for me, and I did the opposite of that, but. I'll do it or die trying."
Dehiscence - "Nelly? I don't have the words for that. She's perfect and kind. When she travels she brings me little cloth scraps and things to hold. She gets flustered easily. She hates blood even though there's so much of it in every person, including herself. I'd do anything for her."
Lanza - "Well thank you for ah, flattering me. I've got too much on my plate to be tied down right now, you see? I'm busy, come back in ten years or so and ask me again, capiche?"
4. Do they look good in red?
Yarrow - absolutely! Yarrow has the fashion sense and the time to make most any look work well, but red is one of the colors he prefers to wear (matches his eyes). It can be a little eye-searing at times, though.
Reach - He'd probably look really nice in some darker maroon-reds, but I don't think he has access to much red (or at least doesn't have it in his wardrobe??) I think he'd consider it too flashy.
Dee - Absolutely 100%, both when they have a red-toned mushroom growth and later when it's more brown/orange tones. I do think they'd prefer it as accents or (at most) a tank top - not too overwhelming
Lanza - out of all of these I think she'd have the most difficult time with making it work as she's got blue tones in her skin/hair.
5. Speech! Speech! Speech! Speech! Will they give one, and what about?
Yarrow - 99 times out of 100, Yarrow is prepared to give a short and effective speech at a party or some other social event. His ability to be Aware of the situation and vibe around him in those settings in nearly uncanny, so he very rarely has issues with these landing incorrectly! (when they don't go well it's a spectacular fumble)
Reach - He would NOT give one. Reach (especially in his older age) is extremely reserved and not really an orator. Unless he was in a small group of friends (genuinely at max 3 or 4 other people) he'd be too uncomfortable to speak - if the group was small though, he'd give a short two sentences about staying strong through cooperation or something similar to that.
Dee - You couldn't make Dee give a speech at their own wedding! Dee would write something thought-provoking but if someone tried to get them to say it they'd just Stare until the person left kfhfjdk
Lanza - At MOST Lanza would give a 5-word 'speech' in celebration or frustration with whatever event was happening. She has the confidence to roast someone if they keep pushing, too.
6. Who will they take advice from, no matter what it is? Who wonât they take advice from, no matter what it is?
Yarrow - Up until extremely recently, Yarrow would have answered this first question as "no one" - with a half-exception for therapists. Nowadays he's extremely wildly likely to listen to Kiro's advice, unless it relates to a few things that Yarrow thinks he handles better. Yarrow wouldn't take advice from anyone under 40 years old simply because they Do Not Know Enough, in his opinion. Also any paladin in his current city couldn't give him advice that he'd follow literally to save his life.
Reach - Without question, Reach would take advice from his higher-ups and from Sumet, his hunting partner and partner in all things (up until recently). Reach wouldn't ignore the advice of anyone, as he was trained to be big on cooperation and has a terrible need for answers in his current stage of life.
Dee - They're a very interesting case for this question because I think the only person they'd take advice from without question is Nelly's uncle, who has a very strong understanding of the issues Nelly is going through in regards to not following her family's traditional monster hunting job and who, while loved, is a bit of an outsider because (?) he took the same path. Other than that, Dee tens to weigh any opinion or advice against their own internal thoughts before acting on anything. They also tend to not take other people's advice at all unless they're someone they trust immensely.
Lanza - She's pretty strong-willed about a lot of things, so Lanza doesn't tend to trust anyone's advice implicitly! If they're an expert in something (personal or professional) that she doesn't know much about then she's likely, but not guaranteed, to listen to what they say. In her old setting I would have said she'd never follow the advice of her parents bc she was going through a 'rebel against old people' phase but honestly I don't think she's like that in other settings! She's just pretty headstrong still lol.
7. Describe them in three words. Now let them describe themself in three words.
Yarrow - I'd describe him as sharp, uncanny, and horny whereas he'd describe himself as "smart, gorgeous, and horny" or something along those lines pff
Reach - "Stubborn, misguided, and tired" are mine, Reach would likely call himself "worn, lost, and desperate". A younger Reach would have called himself sure, strong, and knowledgeable, though.
Dee - I'd say they're touch-starved, eerie, and like.... almost chivalrous??? perhaps like a loyal dog?? whereas they would describe themselves (if forced) as "reserved, tenacious, and steady".
Lanza - I get the privilege to call her a "fre-willed Italian butch(?)" whereas she'd call herself "free, skilled, and well-dressed"

Hi hun! Idk if you write for tamaki or dabi from bnha, but if you do, could you do a headcannon of them plus todoroki and bakugou where reader has pretty violent nature quirk and asking them for help to control it during a breakdown?
Like reader is having a panic attack or is just super stressed and the quirk goes wild like tokoyami's in the dark
Thank you so much and if you dont write i got no problem đ€
hope this is what you were thinking!! also,, im sorry, i havenât gotten to the point of mha where tamaki is in the show yet! if you want i can write one of these for him in the future though :))Â
warnings: panic attacks?
words: 933
dabi
-will immediately quit his playful, teasing persona and go to help you. heâd try and calm your quirk however he could, whether it be by grounding you and helping you get control or restraining you if he had to.
-he gets how terrifying it is to not be in control, and it hurts him to know that it mostly only happens when your emotions are wild. heâs usually very tending to your feelings for that reason, in his own way.
-will play some random youtube calm meditation he found. even if itâs shitty, it normally helps you nonetheless.
-over the years of this happening, heâs found the ways to help soothe you and your quirk. he gets you into a quiet area and helps you to focus on your breathing.Â
-even while your quirk is attacking him, he still persists in helping you. he knows youâre using all the control you have left to not hurt him. the quirk gets the most out of control when youâre anxious, and thatâs the worst time for you to be left alone.
-honestly, although your quirk taking over is a terrifying thing, itâs helped you and dabi bond. to know he will always be by your side, even when youâre accidentally attacking him? you couldnât trust him more. and that trust makes his heart swell
-when youâre back in control, he helps calm you down more to avoid a double takeover in one day. it drains you a lot just for one time, twice in one day would be unbearable.
-heâd stay with you for a few days afterwards, itâd piss off shigaraki, but dabi isnât easily swayed in his decisions, especially when they come to you.
-heâs like a fucking nurse-- he tends to you constantly and doesnât let you get out of bed no matter how many times you insist youâre okay to walk heâs like no you arenât doing anything but sitting and looking pretty if i can help it, you wonât be having this happen again for a while you hear me????
-every now and then heâd sit next to you on your bed, not too close though, for fear heâd make you uncomfortable with his temperature.
-even though youâd said multiple times it didnât bother you...
bakugou
-heâd think you were just moody the first time this happened around him, not exactly realizing that youâd been extremely stressed the past couple of weeks about school and hero work and it was building up.
-Â ây/n, what the hell are you doing?â his angry tone did not match his expression, his eyes wide as he watched you start hyperventilating. you would get dizzy, and he was really confused when you fell back a bit before jerking your body up.
-he didnât really really understand how loose your control over your quirk really was, he thought you had way more control than you did, so when you started filling the room with clouds and rain??
-his face was the personified version of âwhat. the. fuck.â
-he grabbed your hands and tried to put them together so you wouldnât move them, but your movements were fluid.? like water or clouds?? he kept trying to contain you, his grasp slowly beginning to be rough from frustration.
-he finally put two and two together and realized this was your quirk, not really you.
-âhey, hey, y/n, do you hear me?â he shouted as he dodged another one of the storm clouds your quirk launched at him, searching your body language for even a bit of an answer.
-he saw the small nod and was like :D from how relieved he was that you were still there
-he talks you down from them usually, and has lowkey gotten skilled at it. no one would expect it, but nowadays heâs excellent at soothing others.
-when you get control again, youâre all apologies and tears but he always just goes, âtch, itâs fine, i get it,â
-finds an excuse for you to stay home from school the next day, just tells aizawa you both got food poisoning from some pizza place.
todoroki
-he notices almost immediately when it happens, and works silently, trapping your hands with an ice block that you always break, but hey, it drains your quirk faster.
-when you resist heâs like come on iâm trying to helpp but knows you canât help it so he doesnât say anything.
-it breaks his heart to see the fearful expression on your face when your quirk would begin targeting him, you didnât want it to be happening.Â
-âitâll be okay, y/n,â he tries his best to smile at you, hoping itâd comfort you at least a little bit. to his good will, it does, and that has been the most helpful thing.
-heâd try his best to trap you in his ice, but it was frustrating how resilient your storm quirk was against his ice.
-after a while, your had always quirk ran out of fighting power as you fought it for control over you.
-the routine was pretty much the same everytime, todoroki would switch up the encouragement though
-doesnât let you out of his sight for a second for weeks after itâd happen to you, it scared him much more than he wouldâve liked
-always is like âiâm so proud of you for gaining back control,â and itâs really sweet omg
-like dabi, he tends to you for a while, not wanting it to happen again since your quirk is heavily draining on you, especially when itâs out of control like how it had been sometimes.

hi! could i see your insights about ace? i saw a anon say from another blog that kinda has unrealistic expectations in a relationship and it kinda stuck with me. i mean in his ghost marriage he already knows the things he wants in a partner but he didn't show guilt about dumping his girlfriend, even. i think if you date him because he sees these quality in you and as the relationship last, he'll dump you if you get boring to him lol
I never thought that I'd say this but, wow, I'm impressed. I've been really curious about Ace since I get to see a variety of different content with different representations of his personality, so I decided to stick with his canon stories and lines. This analysis was so much fun to write and I'd assure you all that not only Ace but rather all of the first year characters are WAY more than they seem to be! Many just decide to ignore them and pass away, calling them good boys or precious stupid beanies at first.
Speaking of Ace, we've all seen how trending he's been recently. Many theories, thoughts and new arguments exist through the fandom as many want to get to know this boy better.
Theories like "Ace's betrayal theory" as well have been mentioned a lot lately, some agree and some disagree. While we aren't going to talk about that theory or any other theories in this analysis, I'd like to take time to talk about the reasons why those theories might seem appealing and accurate. In other words, we're going to talk about where they are coming from!
1) Ace is incredibly smart and brave
It's true that characters like Jade or Azul's remarkable genius often stands out as it's clearly visible through their presence in the game, from iconic decisions to stunning strategies. But what we need to realize is how characters like Ace can be just as inspiring while their true intelligence is often shallowed by extras and giving them much of a dumb picture in the game.
To begin with, let us note that Ace's brother himself was one of the considerably strong magicians in Heartslabyul's history and even his presence through the magicshift is still remarkable even though years has passed. As the second child of the family, Ace's change to achieve success is even higher than his brother's as he already has a role model he really looks up to, so in that point Ace isn't one to underestimate. But, let me point that his relationship with his brother also contains lots of jealousy and sometimes negativity. His brother was one to always trick Ace and he continues to do so even nowadays! Ace on the other hand doesn't enjoy being pissed off over and over even as he's used to it. Well, we can say that it's another reason for him to train his hardest and become a greater magician than his brother therefore he won't be the bully material of the Trappola household anymore.
Regardless of how effective his brother might've been on him, Ace himself has shown plenty of strong hints that reveal not only his high IQ but also EQ:
He can solve math problems in second, which is a rather important feature to note because the way you deal with math can directly effect the way you deal with life. Not saying that one has to be great at math to be great at something else but it's rather about the perspective and ability of logical thinking that it gives to one. I'd say that this effect is quite visible if you take a look at the way he speaks in serious situations; he's got much of an analytical brain. Let's not forget that Cater as well confirmed that he's much of a skill stealer, is pretty good at remembering things and is a quick thinker! These are go on to show how much of an underestimated genius he is.
Whenever something goes wrong, Ace would be the first one to notice it even if it's a silly matter. And it always begins with a seemingly childish argument, but ends incrucial matters that not a single soul had noticed before! Just take a look at chapter one, what would've happened if Ace hadn't spoken up? He was just one of the hundreds of students having to be severely punished under Riddle's strict rules and he surely wasn't the first one to go through this. Him taking the urge to fight Riddle sounded stupid and naĂŻve at first, many even told him off because he was just acting like a pissed off child. But as he continued to argue and oppose toward Riddle's way as a leader, even Trey realized how he's been keeping his eye shut on all this problems for so long. The way Ace stood against Trey was iconic, he confidently defended his point not by his personal demands and feelings but with facts and logical comments on why Trey's way of threatening Riddle is wrong. He did the same thing again at he ghost marriage, just think of it! Not a single soul ever cared to tell the bride about true love but Ace was there, and he was the one and only to do this after more than 500 years of the bride's existence! This Ace, this serious and mature face of Ace is something that can surely fascinate anyone. His bravery, the way he puts all that strength through words, hisextremely logical point of view and his enthusiasm to solve the problems no matter how unimportant they seem to be is indeed appreciatble. Seriously though, what would've happened to Riddle is Ace wasn't there? When Ace firstly begun to oppose to him, everyone thought that is was just a childish argument. They had no idea how severe and destructive Riddle's temper issues were and how harmful they were down inside.
2) He's one of the dumbest characters in the whole game
You know what? He is dumb. Yes he's incredibly smart but this isn't going to change the fact that he is dumb as hell, so I'm never going to argue when someone's nagging on how much of an idiot he is. But most importantly, we need to know what's making him so dumb:
His presence through the stories has proved that Ace is eventually pretty good at detecting the main source of problems both on the mental and physical side. He was the first to realize Riddle's issues, Trey's huge mistake with Riddle, Ghost bride's unawareness and Epel's gloomy and sad aura in chapter 4. Ace's also one to easily tell whether what someone is doing is wrong or not, he can see through people and bring their mistakes to their attention. The problem is... he can't be quite the same with himself. That's what makes him awfully dumb.
Back in chapter one, he did have a point about Riddle's way of leadership being so unfair and messed up, but when he decided to challenge Riddle and even take his place as the dorm leader he was a total idiot who didn't how weak and unpractical his own magic was, he was being too dramatic. When he talked about his ex girlfriend, he just talked about how she held him back from doing what he wanted and was too uncool to spend time with, but he didn't mention a single thing about himself doing anything wrong in that relationship. He often fails to realize that he's got his own incompleteness and lacks just like anyone else, or prefers to put an blind eye to them most of the time (not all of the time)
Ace sets the perfect goals, but chooses the wrong path to achieve them. He needs to realize that just like everyone else, he can be sometimes wrong. He should take his time to get to know himself better; his abilities, his attitude, his faults and his mistakes and learn to be more patient and logical in order to achieve his goals. He's still young an inexperienced, by learning to put that brilliance of him into the perfect use he'd be able to become the great magician he wishes to be, and I'd say that in case that he continues to grow stronger and smarter, he'll have a high chance of being hesrtslabyul's next dorm leader!
3) He legit wants to be the "Ace"
This part's more of an attempt to do a name analyis and see how much it's been effective on Ace's personality. It actually makes a lot of snese since the word "Ace" itself has several meanings, and he used these different terms quite a few times in his personal stories. This point would also be explained in part (4) so for now, let's take a look at direct name definitions:
First of, remember what what an Ace is in a card game? "A playing card with a simple spot on it, ranked as the highest card in its suit" This goes on to tell us a lot, it's telling us what an Ace is. A loner yet the most powerful one of its own, just like how Ace wants to be.
Wanting to be an actuall Ace is definitely one of the things that sometimes makes Ace sound so jerky and he's aware of it! If you give it a closer look, you'll see that Ace doesn't really treat his friends like friends, especially with Deuce and Grim. He's often insulting or challenging them, and even during his birthday SSR when MC asked him about what he thinks of each of other first years (Who are basically his closest friends) he mainly criticized them and all, not a single word was said about things he likes about them and he didn't even call any of them his friend!
Well that's much of a jerky attitude to have toward people whom you spend almost all of your time with, especially your best of time.
He to play the role of the bad guy, the type to hang out with everyone without feeling any attached to them as even friends. Seems like our boy is trying to be a loner, a true Ace of cards and hearts. And he doesn't mind his friends calling him a bastard or jerk because of this. It's even confirmed that he's more of the popular guy type therefore he's mainly used to having people around!
On the other hand, he's trying his best to achieve success no matter what the obstacles are. It's true that he often messes up and fails, but we cannot say that he isn't trying. He almost lost his head for real during his SSR story where Riddle's favorite hedgehogs were lost because of Ace's impatience, but at last with the help of monsieur Rook and his own ability to imitate Rook's mole language skills Ace saved his neck one more time, and ended his story with a dramatic "Of course, I always Ace it!"
4) Ace does care, but pretends that he does not
In contrast to the fact that he wants to sound tricky, manipulative and mean, or how he's denying his friends' true worth to him like stated in part (3), Ace is probably one of the most caring and supportive characters in the game. Not saying that he's just as bright as someone like Kalim, but his way of seeing through people and wishing them to be better, wealthier and happier than they already are is surely something. This fact is often ignored because, well...everyone's too busy calling him either dumb or sus/ jk!
Just imagine having a friend or at least, a classmate you know like Ace. How's he supposed to be? He'd realize it when someone's bullying/bothering/ or intentionally harming you, and he isn't going to be silent about it. If you see that you're permanently sad, angry, rude or loud then again he'd speak up, he isn't going to just pull up with anyone's unhealthy habit like nothing's happened. He's got much of a big brain as well so you should expect him to say a bunch of helpful and meaningful stuff when he's using that brain, mainly in serious situations. He may not be a permanently mutual to have around, but when the troubles arrive, know that having Ace around is always an advantage.
To top it off, he's even shown sympathy toward people whom he seemed to like the least at first like Riddle; he wishes Riddle to be happier, to smile more, to be more open about his emotions with other students. At some point he even admits that he looks up to him, he used to overestimate his powers and challenged Riddle, but during the ghost marriage he said that he knows how powerful and strong Riddle is, therefore he should work his hardest to study and train to become strong just like him! He already seems to be more cheerful and bright when MC is talking to him, but when it comes to Grim and Deuce...it gets quite complicated. What we see the most is often Ace insulting them or saying that he's going to kick their asses, but they're also his closest friends all though he refuses to admit to it.
Just wait for Deuce or Grim to get in a serious danger or pain, and see how much of a protective one Ace can be! He isn't going to remain silent when one is in danger, but he's surely going to deny all that effort and affection he gave into action afterwards. When Ace can feel this cautious and understanding toward Riddle, someone who isn't even a friend of his then imagine how supportive and caring he would be toward his close friends like Deuce, MC and Grim!
In his ghost marriage as well, his words and the way he spoke of the meaning of true love left everyone, even Crowley, impressed (Crowley even said that he's fallen in love with this side of Ace's personality), but refused to admit that he was speaking of his true feelings after the ceremony. Someone like Grim is too bold to recognize how much of a different person Ace can be inside, so he claimed that Ace was just rambling nonsense without thinking of what he was saying back then, and Ace agreed with him! This is a continuation to part (3) where we talked about how he wants to be a loner, he doesn't want anyone to see how caring and sometimes, emotional he can be inside! Poor boy is quite shy showing his true feelings we can tell~
5) Ace can be quite tricky and manipulative
This part will also explain some of the main reasons behind famous theories like "Ace's betrayal theory", and I wanted to have a certain part to talk about this point specifically because it's been quite trending through the whole fandom, and many are wondering why theorizers are considering his betrayal a possibility, so here we go!
As said, one of the main factors the makes Ace seem suspicious would be his incredible intelligence. The fact that he can actually be that smart all the time but isn't openly showing his talents and abilities can be quite questionable, more details regarding his intelligence and most likely high IQ and EQ were discussed in part (1)!
Enough with intelligence, let's focus on his personality! This is mainly what this part is talking about, his trickiness. Just like his father and older brother, Ace is pretty good with magic tricks. Small and fun tricks are a convenient yet easy ways to inspire others and Ace doesn't mind showing the crowd what he's got up in sleeve when possible. But the thing is...this isn't just about fancy tricks.
This ability can be expanded into any other field such as mental terms and enable him to indirectly control and play with one's mind. That's more of a possibility though! He hasn't yet shown any signs of being any manipulative but, well, we can't say that it's beyond his abilities. Ace himself can be quite sarcastic and mean at the time, he doesn't seem to mind slightly tricking his friends either. Nothing about him seems to be serious, but the possibilities remain still.
The way he learnt those tricks as well is mentionable; no one ever teached himm any of those tricks, he learnt them through being repeatedly tricked, and learning to copy and redo what he saw. Both Rook and Cater so far have confirmed that Ace's ability to learn so quickly and learn and redo techniques just by watching them is fantastic.
His genius and ability to learn and memorize everything that he needs to learn pretty fast, along side his tricky and sometimes personality can make Ace quite dangerous. If someone like him decides to choose such a remarkable talent for evil purposes, that's surely going to be bad news. That's much and less of what makes Ace's betrayal theory make sense although there're still fans who find it quite questionable. I'm not a supporter of this theory myself as I hadn't seen any signs of Ace having any bad intentions so far, but I do get where the theorizers are coming from and that makes sense. Ace has been trying to put on much of a mean and lowkey evil face on through the story and no one can really say what's exactly going on in that brain. We'll that about this uncertainty in part (7)!
6) His past relationship was...uh
For now, Ace is the only character who is confirmed to have experience in love and relationships, and this was a rather effective factor since many have been talking about Ace's past relationship afterwards. The thing is...Ace did talk about how his girlfriend held him back from having fun and living the life he wanted to live. Well there's actually a lot we should say about this one so I'm not gonna rush to the end, let's think about all of the aspects of this situation logically:
First of, the relationship itself. I'd say that it was a wrong attempt for them to date each other in the first place because obviously, Ace and his girlfriend weren't made for each other. They were total opposites in interests and they couldn't even have fun together. If Ace chose to go on a wild roller coater ride, the girl would've freaked out and when she chose a small, childish ride that she liked Ace instead didn't enjoy it at all. It's surely an issue when you and your partner can't even watch a movie which both of you can enjoy together since their tastes were totally different, just jow was this relationship going to last? Ace wasn't happy, and if he was going to do what made him happy the girl in return would've been sad. They were two different people of two different points, dating at this point was nothing but a mistake.
On the other hand, Ace as well is guilty. First off, she shouldn't have dated the girl in the first place if he was aware of how different her tastes were. Second, from what he said he never showed any signs of dissatisfaction when he had to give up on what he liked to listen to what the girl friend liked. The girl friend obviously told him that she was scared of a horror movie, but Ace just kept his mouth shut and felt awfully annoyed as he watched a romance movie with her while he didn't like it at all. If he'd at least told her girlfriend about this, she wouldn't have felt as injured and cheated when Ace broke up with her. Ace shouldn't have bottled it up, he deserved to enjoy the relationship just as much as the girl did. He shouldn't have expected things to get any better if he wasn't going to solve anything about it in the first place. If he'd talked about his personal desires and favorites as well, and had his uncomfortableness with most of the girl's choices discussed before hand, there could've been a chance of them coming into a conclusion and even not breaking up! The girl could've tried to be braver for him, and Ace could've agreed to be softer because of her. There would've been a HUGE difference if they'd talked about it logically.
Also, keep this in mind that the girl had no idea about Ace's uncomfortableness which was low key naĂŻve of her (It's not cool when you don't even realize that your boyfriend doesn't like something) but this also made him awfully unprepared for a break up! Ace should've st least talked about his feelings and how he was unable to continue that relationship with her instead of just dropping her out of nowhere. That would've also decreased the chance of having to deal with the girl's friends after wards!
Finally, let's say that this relationship was wrong in too many aspects. They weren't each other's type, and we can't really blame Ace for dropping someone whom he couldn't be happy with. The main of being in a relationship is spending time with someone whom you can enjoy your time with. He as well was guilty because he can't just drop the girl like he just didn't care and had gotten tired of her while he had his own reasons for dropping her, he should've let the girl know that it wasn't necessarily her fault, it was about Ace not being able to relate to her tastes and habits.
Also, let's be honest. Not much is expected when a 15 year old is dating. Being in a relationship is an awfully sensitive and important choice and someone like Ace hasn't reached that level of maturity to be ready to date someone, let alone doing it at his 15s! Honestly... they should've learnt a lot before dating each other because it isn't a silly thing. Dating like this is nothing but playing around for a while for fun, it's a childish game of spending some time together until they break up.
For now, Ace is finds love quite silly and meaningless so we can clearly see that his past relationship has pissed him off. Well Ace needs to realize that his relationship with his ex wasn't a serious one, so it's normal for it to seem unimportant and silly. He needs to learn a lot without dating someone again, such as knowing how crucial it is to make sure that his hobbies would match his partners, to make sure tjat they get along, and simply, he needs to find his own type! Not all people are made for each other, and he isn't supposed to fall for anyone with any possible personality that pops up on his way.
Also, I'd say that he still needs to focus on studying instead of dating. He needs to reach the required level of maturity to be ready to start a healthy and successful relationship again. Also, he might end up being totally different from what we've seen about him being in a relationship do far when he grows up! Idealistics do change a lot olin teenagehood.
7) We need to talk about our first years a lot more!!!
This point isn't just about him, but rather all of the first years! If I were to rate the most ignored and shallowed personalities of twst, the first years should've gone on the top of this list. Even when we're speaking of the mischaracterized characters of the game, many consider Ace and Deuce to be the least mischaracterized while they happen to be the most mischaracterized as no one evencares to see through them and feel like we aren't mischaracterizing them just because we're ignoring them! Come on guys, Ace's design and personality is a lot more complicated and harder to read than characters like Vil and even Leona!
Out of all first years Sebek was the only one to get some proper shout outs so far but why isn't anyone talking about Ace and Deuce the way they deserve to be talked about? Their presence through the game is even more important than the dorm leaders as they are the closest characters to MC, and their personality design is just incredible, no just because of how perfectly detailed it is, but also because of giving them this unpredictability and incompleteness which totally matches their age!
Studies have shown that judging one's personality based on how they're doing at the age of 16 or younger is prettyhard and impossible, and it's a totally serious fact. At the age of 16, human's personality is under severe effects and changes until reaching it's final-developed shape. That's accurate toward almost all of the first years except Jack since he seems to have more of a mature personality.
NRC's first years are really complicated, especially a character like Ace. That why I said that we can't yet tell if he's a good guy or not, because at this level of life he can choose to be anything. He can be good, he can be bad, he can be neutral. That's why he's showing too much of opposite actions at the moment. One second he's being the biggest idiot in the whole world, the other second he's planning like a 50 year old genius. One second he's being protective over his friends, the other second he sighs and tells MC how annoying they are.
That's why Ace is hard to read, we can't tell what his true feelings are until he reaches the required mental stability to be judged as a mature and complete personality. 18 year olds like Vil have already reached that level of maturity and completeness, finding their unique magics as well is another sign of it. But our first years still need to learn and experience until they find their real selves, to see who they are.
This is one of the most adorable facts about their design because they really gave him this young and wild and incomplete nature to show that they're still young! This is quite incredible how careful Yana was to remember that they all needed some this childishness in their design, their designs are just as accurate and realistic as a real 16 year old's! They still need to learn, and that's why they're the closest ones to MC.
MC needs to learn and get to see more and more of this world, and so do the first years! They're just as unexperienced and new to this world, and they can relate to MC better than anyone else can!
So please, from now on, let's remember to talk about not only Ace, but also all of the first years more often. Ace and Deuce's designs especially are the most detailed and beautiful ones if you take time to know them better. Remember that after the 7 dorm leaders, Ace and Deuce's roles as the protagonist's closest allies are the most crucial in the game, so let's not just decide to ignore all these creative features and pass by them without thinking how much they can mean.
Woah, this one was quite harder to write than I'd expected! There are way too many things to say about him which made me have to summarize this into just this 7 parts for now. Ace is surely and odd yet interesting one to study, even more interesting than usually famous characters like Leona and Azul, which is partly because of how unpredictable he is!

BTS reacting to another idol flirting with you when you come and visit them.
pairing: bts x reader fandom: bts ; monsta x ; exo ; nct ; kard ; seventeen ; super junior ; got7 warnings: language genre: fluff ; crack word count: 1.7k+
a/n: Iâm always scared with these kind of requests that theyâre repetitive because Iâve done requests like these before. But I do hope that itâs still fun to read and that you like it â„
kim seokjin
Jin and you had your anniversary today. However, an idol can't exactly postpone a performance because of a reason such as this one, especially when no fan even knew he was in a relationship in the first place.
You understood, though. You had known what you'd get yourself into the moment you two agreed to turn this into something serious and so you weren't angry at him for doing his job. You had simply agreed that you'd pick him up from the show and then you'd either go and have dinner or drive over to his apartment to cook together, depending on how tired he was.
You must have come a little early though, because when Jin walked out of their dressing room, all ready to go, he found you standing in the hallway talking to Jooheon.
âNo, don't be ridiculous. Get your things, I'm driving you there.â
âYou're the best and I love you,â Jooheon kissed your cheek, then ran into his dressing room to get his things.
And well, Jin had seen this and stared at you with an open mouth, not quite believing what he had just witnessed, especially the nonchalant look that you had on your face threw him off.
âWhat? He wants to call someone to pick him up, the address is on our way, we'll just drop him off.â
âAnd he couldn't say that to you like any other normal human being? He had to say I love you and... kiss your cheek?â
âHeâs like family. Jooheon loves you like an older brother. Do you really think he'd ever do something to risk that relationship?â
Probably not.
And when Jooheon walked back out and you three walked to your car, Jin asked: âIt's not your apartment. Where are you going?â
âAh.. itâs.. my girlfriend, hyung.â
No reason to be jealous. None.Â
min yoongi
âYou're finally awake,â Hoseok laughed when Yoongi opened his eyes and slowly sat up, brushing his hands over his face, â(Y/N) stopped by. But since you were asleep, she wandered off.â
âWhere to?â he asked with a yawn.
âDon't know. She said something about needing to see Baekhyun.â
Oh boy, despite the lack of sleep due to him having worked his ass off all night long, he sprinted out of the make-up room in search of you, until he found you talking in an empty hallway with Baekhyun.
âI'm not messing around,â he chuckled, âI'm telling the truth.â
âYou're an idiot,â you shook your head, but there was a smile on your face.
âAm I interrupting?â Yoongi stood between you two and since you hadn't exactly been far away from each other, he now suddenly stood very close to Baekhyun.
âAh, Yoongi,â Baekhyun chuckled a little uncomfortably and took a step back, âWe were just.. I mean, we just..-â he cleared his throat, turning around to nothing but emptiness, âAh, those are my guys. I better get back. Nice talking to you, (Y/N).â
Despite Yoongi being younger, Baekhyun knew when to step back. This must have looked like something it really wasnât, but from someone that had just walked in, he understood why Yoongi didnât like what he saw.
âHe keeps doing that. They keep doing that. Why do they keep doing that,â Yoongi muttered mostly to himself, then grabbed your hand and interlinked your fingers with his, âYouâre mine.â
You giggled a little at how possessive he suddenly became.Â
jung hoseok
Hoseok had only left for like five minutes, but when he came back, he found you in deep conversation with Yuta, talking about, what sounded to him like, Yuta asking you to come to Japan with him, because he could easily show you around.
Who did that?
Who asked someone who was in a relationship to go on vacation with him? That wasnât cool.Â
âShe's good,â Hoseok interrupted, before Yuta could speak more on it, âWe've already planned our next vacations. Japan isn't on the list unfortunately. But thank you for the offer.â
He didn't give him another chance to speak, only waited until Yuta was gone to turn around.
âYou just made a fool out of yourself, Hoseok.â
âBecause I don't want some guy to take my girlfriend to his home country?â
âBecause I asked him if he could make me a list of things that we could do. Japan might not be on our list, but I wanted to add it as a surprise for you,â you shrugged, âNow you ruined it and I doubt he's ever going to talk to me again, because everyone in this industry has too much respect for you. So good job, buddy. Your jealousy once again clouded your judgment.â
He felt like the biggest fucking idiot on the planet.
kim namjoon
This is exactly why Namjoon didn't like taking you to award shows with him.
In a world where everyone was so special, the one that wasn't an idol, but also wasn't a staff member, was the most interesting person in the room. So naturally, everyone was drawn to you. What were you doing here? Who were you with? Where were you from?Â
And then there were those who didn't know that you were in a relationship with Namjoon and they just outright asked questions like: Are you still single? Do you want to go out with me?
And unfortunately, tonight was no different.
âI just think it's nice to see someone else who speaks English like me,â Matthew from KARD grinned at you with a little more than simple curiosity in his eyes.
Namjoon saw that little spark and he crossed the room in an instant.
âI don't think it's that special. There are many people here who speak English well, like..-â
âLike her boyfriend,â Namjoon smiled, even though that smile didn't reach his eye. And he didn't want to start trouble here, he actually really liked Matthew and he knew he was older so he wanted to be respectful. So he ended up excusing you two and pulled you away from him, since that seemed to be the best and easiest option to get out of the conversation.
âJealous, are we?â
âOf him?â Namjoon snorted, squeezing your butt once he was sure that nobody was looking, âI know I don't have to be jealous of anyone, sweetheart.â
His actions told a different story though.
park jimin
Jimin had been so excited about today.
He had practiced so hard for this performance, was ready to show it to his fans and everyone else that was here at this show and to top it all off, you had managed to get a day off and could watch him perform live for the first time in a very long time.
So Jimin walked up on that stage and showed everyone that he was indeed one of the world's most talented singers and dancers, only to walk off stage to find you not beaming at him like he had hoped, but instead, talking with a few guys from Seventeen.
âYou're so sweet,â was the first thing Jimin heard you say to the youngest of the group, Dino blushing from ear to ear.
No, this was definitely not what he had hoped, nor wanted.
He was jealous, also a little bit disappointed, but mostly jealous. That is why he wrapped an arm around your shoulder, despite all the sweat.
All of the Seventeen members immediately bowed, almost all scurrying off as soon as he appeared, except for Dino, who lingered a little longer.
âThank you, (Y/N),â he smiled happily at you, then he ran after his members.
You looked up, grinning when you found your boyfriend glaring so hard that if he had laser beam powers, he would glare holes into Dino's back.
âYou don't have to be jealous. He told me that he was a fan of my writing style and how I'm the only author he reads articles from nowadays,â Jimin relaxed instantly, but there was still the matter of you not..- âAnd also, you were fantastic up on that stage. I'm so proud of you, baby.â
Oh, well, in that case.
kim taehyung
Taehyung often felt like you going to award shows with him was kind of pointless, since he was either out watching others perform, or performing himself. He didn't have a lot of time to spend backstage.
But today, they had a really special performance and a rather long one that he wanted you to witness live, especially because he had hyped it up so much beforehand.
Performance in itself was good, but when he walked out and into the green room, he found you at a table with Super Junior members.
âI just think it's really interesting, why you chose him, I mean.â
Taehyung's jealousy flared up to the ceiling and he was about to waltz in there and tell them to leave you alone, despite them being so much older and more experienced, but he was glad that he stopped in his tracks before he did.
âHe was there for me when I needed him most, despite him being so busy. We were friends before we became partners and I don't think anyone knows me as good as he does. I'm dating my soulmate, it's as easy as that.â
You shut them up the right way and Taehyung just watched with a soft smile, once again realizing how lucky he was.
jeon jeongguk
The moment that Jeongguk saw you talking to BamBam and Yugyeom, he made his way over and put his hands on your shoulders, beginning to massage them.
âCan you not flirt with my girlfriend please?â
âWe just asked her why she didn't pick one of us, but you. We're more handsome than you ever could be,â BamBam teased.
âThey actually just asked what cologne you were using today, because you smelled fantastic.â
âWow, you're such a traitor,â Yugyeom got up, sticking out his tongue before leaving you and Jeongguk on your own.
Jeongguk grinned and leaned down to kiss your cheek, whispering a soft: âI love you,â into your ear.
Dream team.

Why Lila is Marinetteâs Own Fault || Miraculous Why?
(Before I begin, note that this is my opinion over the topic and am no way am bashing anyoneâs love for the ship and/or character. I respect who and what you like, therefore expect the same courtesy. However, if this is something you cannot handle, please click the back button as this will be a heavily discussed topic. No flames allowed. Other than that, enjoy.)
So usually in the story, thereâs always one or two mean girls who is out to get the main character for some kind of superior reasons to justify. And thereâs no reason as to why they act this way just for the sake of being mean.
Like the Ashleys from âRecessâ, who tend to pick on kids just for the fun of it sometimes or cause theyâre popular.
Same can go for Libby from âSabrina The Teenage Witchâ who was out to get something for what she wants or just to be superior to the other kids in school.
For Miraculous, we already have that kind of character, Chloe Bourgeois, who is the daddyâs girl of the Mayor to get what she wants. And until we had some small character development in season two (which season 3 took it away!!), we had no reason feeling sorry for her and she was just for the convenient plot in the social life for Marinette in the series.
And then⊠thereâs Lila.
Before I get into hand in this, let me note that Lila is not a good person at all in the show. Sheâs a liar, a manipulator and will do whatever she can to get what she wants. She breaks into homes, steals and molests pretty models. Sheâs been pretty shown to be just selfish without consequences and unless we get a background story of why she acts this way, she has no excuse. Especially when she teams up with hawkdaddy to now have permission to invade and spy on Adrien whenever she wants? Fuck that.
So in Volpina, Lila is introduced as this pathological liar to get attention in season one. She obviously goes for Adrien cause heâs the famous model after all. Reasonable considering as the new person looking for attention, you seek out the most popular/famous person in the school. That would Adrien.
Though considering with her connections, it wouldâve been smarter to try and impress Marinette instead if Lila did her research before she came into the scene. But of course, new person so she wouldnât know, but whatever.
And we can see Lila easily just says things just to get Adrienâs approval and such.
And so, Marinette follows them around (stalking? really?) because Tikki points out Lila has the book Adrien took from his fatherâs vault and threw it in the trash.
Now the SMART thing to do wouldâve been to see how Adrien would handle the situation and wait for him to leave, if to acknowledge Adrien has a mind of his own and knows when to walk away (which he does). Or at the very least, try to distract them as Marinette while Tikki retrieved the book.
But⊠no. You transform into Ladybug to lash out at a girl PUBLICALLY, for anyone including Adrien to hear, just to embarrass her and call her out on her lying because she⊠âhates liarsâ.
Marinette, you fucking lie ALL the time! Most of those times to Adrien! And Iâm not just talking about when in regard to being Ladybug, you hypocritical- (groans)
I can list plenty of episodes: Gamer, Aninmaestro, Ikari Gozen and hell, even Reverser counts! If she hadnât lied about Marcâs book, Nathaniel wouldnât have torn it! (sighs)
And before you all start jumping at me saying Lila got what she deserves, I only agree partially. Ladybug, as a public figure and heroine, practically the face of Paris, acted irrationally lashing out at a bystander because of lies which were or were not believable. Lila was broadcasting a post or making the news, she was trying (poorly) to impress a boy. Ladybug gave Lila the Regina George treatment.
Yeah, so you caused an akumatized situation and Lila hates your guts. Hell, I would hate you too. Thatâs like a celebrity jumping at an innocent bystander when theyâre whispering to their friend about a rumor that only the two of them were talking about. You canât jump to try and stop them and should just let it dispel on its own. At that point, Lila had no real power but you just influenced her.
And⊠oh boy did things get worse because of this.
Look season 3 was trash (except for moments in certain episodes) and I feel talking about the infamous âChameleonâ physically hurts me but⊠yeah gotta point out a few things. The whole episode was unrealistic, and it was an obvious ploy to be sympathetic to Marinette with Lila back⊠but⊠youâre not fooling me.
So, Lila is still on her lying game, being able to fool the students and the staff?! Okay if you believe a student has so many disabilities without any paperwork proof, you can actually get fired for that for fraud. As someone who worked with education before, thatâs just pure incompetence.
So yeah, Marinette comes to school seeing the seats changes to accommodate Lila and upright begins to plot to discredit her for her lies. UM⊠what happened to trying to start over with Lila after failing to do so the first time?
Oh, thatâs right. She gets that way (at least partly) because Lila is sitting next to Adrien. I can understand if it was because they rearranged the seating without her say so but letâs face it. Lila sitting next to Adrien was her real trigger.
So since Marinette failed to acknowledge her mistake the first time, she spends all day trying to prove Lila is lying and in return the class is angry at her. Alya even comes to point out that Marinette is jealous of Lila.
And you know what? Alya is right.
Alya knows at least what Marinette is capable of doing so when it comes to Adrien and how far sheâs willing to go. Remember that Alya is the one who encouraged her to break into his locker and steal his phone. So of course, sheâs worried Marinette is gonna do something to the new girl.
I donât blame Alya for doing one of the most competent things in the show: Warning Marinette to NOT go off the handle without proof and not make herself look bad in the process.
And because Marinette failed to do so⊠she made Lila her enemy AGAIN. It was bad enough you had her as your enemy as Ladybug, but now you get to deal with twice the drama!
Your own fucking fault, Marinette.
Also, the advice Adrien gave? I donât blame for him for it and neither should you. Yes, his advice is not perfect, but with the options he has on his plate, its hard to do something otherwise.
For every encounter Adrien has had with Lila, it ended up with her being akumatized or a disaster no matter how he tried to handle her. We didnât get to see how he would resolve in Volpina because of Ladybugâs intervention, but he would try at least in Chameleon and try to get her to see she didnât need to lie and actually tried to befriend her. At this point, Lila was already triggered by Ladybug and Marinette so she just might have to take Adrien by force instead.
At that point, Adrien just wants to stay away and which he was trying to tell Marinette donât interact with Lila or confront her cause thereâs no way to do so at this point. Maybe he was trying to tell her to wait until her rumors got discredited, but he didnât say it clear enough for her to understand.
And keep in mind, Adrien is a sheltered child with little to zero social skills taught to him by Nathalie and Gabriel. Hell, we donât know how his childhood was really like even with Emelie around either and Adrien seems more like the pacifist unless he needs to absolutely step in. And he did by cleaning up Marinetteâs mess in âLadybugâ. So now heâs gotta suffer being around Lila more because of Marinette making Lila her enemy.
But once again, this is bad writing as the writers of the show obviously forgot what itâs like to live in reality. In the real world, Lila would be immediately discredited without any proof the moment she came back. Not to mention, some of the class have their own connections and have more braincells proven in the previous episodes. Google search and such. A 5-year-old wouldnât believe these lies in these times. Hey, I believe that because I once had a kid in kindergarten during my time as an afterschool art teacher look at one of my books I illustrated before and said they liked the âgraphicsâ.
Kids are fucking smarter nowadays than you think.
The only reason anyone would believe Lilaâs lies is if sheâs magically influenced with some kind of âsilver tongueâ spell or something and honestly? It looks like thatâs the reason.
I dunno if Thomas Astruc or Zag is trying to insult the kids/adults or insult themselves to say Paris people arenât that smart. If itâs the latter, you should see what you are doing because I donât want to believe that because thatâs disrespectful.
I know it seems Iâm trying to stand up for Lila this portion, but Iâm just looking things in a  more realistic and logical way. Did Lila take things too far? Yes, waaaayyy too far and should be arrested for it since she works for Hawkmoth. But it couldâve been handled better and that makes Marinette at fault too.
Part of me wonders if sheâs done this before because in Zombiezou, she also causes Chloe to ruin her gift for Ms. bustier. If Marinette didnât antagonize Chloe in the locker in front of the class, maybe she wouldnât have done anything. Again, Iâm not saying Chloe was justified, but if that was the reason, yeah I can see her doing it for payback.
So to all those fics where Iâm supposed to be âBoo-hooâ for Marinette because of what Lila did? Fuck you guys because you need to dig deeper into the story to see both sides and not just make it a pity party where Marinette is the innocent victim.
Itâs called âCause and Effectâ.
And considering she made Lila her enemy, Marinette is gonna get effected enough because thatâs how karma works.

âJust like in Star Wars?â for percabeth? interested to see what you do with that one!
I canât seem to stop writing pre tlo percabeth. hmm maybe i just have A Thing for the pining.
read on ao3
Annabeth had always liked the arena.
She likes how itâs a place where she can be ruthless with no judgment. She likes the familiar feeling of sand crunching against sneakers, only to find it later on her socks, leaving an orange stain. Likes how the smell of sweat was one of hard work and perseverance. Where she can always let go, not worrying about camp problems or of the world dying, for just a moment.
Only her body and her knife. Skin glistening, straw flying from dummies.
Moving swiftly. Freely.
Sometimes, the arena truly does catch up with her. Like right now.
âNice one, âBeth,â a deep voice calls, clapping one, two, three times.
Percy. Of course.
She didnât notice that heâd been standing right behind her all this time. Panting hard, she turns to the sound of his voice.
He raises his eyebrows, eyeing the straw littered across the amber sand. âI think the dummies have a true fear for you.â
âI donât think so. Theyâre dead by now.â
This is his way of asking for a truce, she knows.
It had been so long since sheâd last seen him, until yesterday that is. His death is imminent, his friends count on him, her nightmares are breathed to life by the war...and all heâs done is leave the penalties aside to relax in New York City.
Just yesterday morning, theyâd fought about it, like they always do nowadays. Itâs only now that heâs trying to make amends, to lay a bandaid against the gaping wound of a prophecy bigger than both of them.
âI mean,â he says, scratching his curls. âThey were already dead in the first place, soâŠâ
âAre you challenging me to a duel?â
âWhen did I say that?â
âWellââshe spreads her arms, showcasing her destructionââYouâre criticizing my work, as though you could do better.â
He snorts, switching Riptideâin pen formâfrom his left hand to his right. A nervous habit of his. âSo what if I am?â
âYouâre kinda rusty now,â she says nonchalantly, taking satisfaction in the way his eyes darken like they always do whenever she challenges him. âYou know...with all that time spent outside of camp.â
Percy sighs, shoulders slumped. The sight of him like this makes her feel a twinge of sympathy, but only a twinge.
âLook. I already said Iâm sorry. I didnât come here for you to tell me againââ
âItâs fine, Perce. Iâm not that mad at you, anymore.â
ââThat mad?ââ he repeats, an eyebrow raised. âReally?â
She rolls her eyes. âYes, really. I let it all out with the straw dummies, see?â
âAnd who says that you wonât keep letting it out on me if weâhypotheticallyâspar?â
âHmm. No promises.â
ââKay.â He shrugs. âIâm used to that, anyway.â
Annabeth could sense it now, his sarcastic wit. Sometimes, it was endearing, but other times...he could damn well use it against her. Like when they fought. Two magnets, polar opposites.
âDonât tell me youâre scared, Seaweed Brain.â
His green eyes twinkle, the same way the sea reflects the morning rays of the sun. âWhy should I be scared? Weâre good at fighting.â
Silence.
Good at fighting about what? Good at fighting each other in every possible way.
His expression turns into a wince. âSorry. I didnât meanââ
âWhatever. Are you going to uncap Riptide or what?â
âJust like in Star Wars?â he asks, that cheeky grin spreading across his face again. âWith the lightsaber thing or whatever?â
âOh my gods, Percy, youâve done this beforeââ
âBut I always wanted to say that!â
âYouâre so gonna lose.â
âIn your dreams, Wise Girl.â
She wants to wipe that stupid smirk off his face. By kissing him or beating him, or maybe both.
And thatâs when their dangerous dance begins.
Annabeth is the first to strike, followed by Percy blocking her knife, quicker than a hunting cheetah. Maybe he isnât as rusty as she thought.
This changes nothing.
Thereâs a fire burning in his eyes, like lightning flashing by the sea. Itâs too distracting, too hypnotizing, but she shakes it off and slashes, again and again. Mercilessly. Violently.
He returns the favor, and it's maddening how easily he can move with his sword, as though it were an extension to his arm, while simultaneously making her heart pound like a giant drum. And not just because of their fast-paced sparring.
âGlad to see,â she pants, âthat youâve been training.â
His sword glints in the fevered sun, and he has the nerve to laugh. âChironâs been keeping me busy around here.â
âNo matter,â she says, blocking one especially rattling strike that she feels all the way to her bones. She closes the distance between them, partly because of her much smaller blade, and partly because she wants him to meet her eyes. âIâll kick your ass, anyway.â
âNice to know...â Another blow. âThat you just wanted...to kick my ass.â
She comes at him again. âIâve been wanting to kick your ass all week.â
They stay that way, fighting, long enough for some stragglers to keep watch. She hears the hum of demigods talking, probably about them, but she pays it no mind. Itâs only her and Percy, celestial bronze clashing. Dust moves along with their feet, twirling around them in clouds.
Annabeth nearly misses his downward strike, too wrapped up in the way his shirt begins to cling to his skin, in the way his muscles flex and unflex to the rhythm of their fight.
She jumps back before sheâs cleaved in two.
They're separated enough for her to catch her breath, but she doesnât miss the smug look on Percyâs face. Even though he too, is huffing and puffing.
She glances up, noticing for the first time that they have an audience. Across the arena, Silena throws her a thumbs up while Clarisse shakes her head.
âDonât be such a pussy!â she hollers to Annabeth. âGo get him!â
Itâs enough to rile her up again. She turns to face Percy. He just grins.
âGetting tired?â
She exhales, blowing away a curl that had stuck to her forehead. âYou wish.â
-
Her strike is the one that finally trips him up. Or maybe itâs her leg. But itâs no matter. Because Annabeth manages to disarm Percy, leaving him on his knees.
His face reflects light, like a shimmering pool, beautiful and mesmerizing. But she canât think of that now. She presses her knife against his neck.
âGuess you beat me after all.â
âYield,â is all she says.
She shifts her knife, lifting his chin up. The movement is sharp and quick, but thereâs something powerful about it, the moment painted before her in a frozen orb. His Adamâs apple bobs up and down. Up and down.
She canât look away, feeling everything and nothing at once.
His green green eyes are ablaze, locked with hers. Heâs glowing, sheâs sure of it. Her hands shake as she watches a bead of sweat settle across his collarbones, but she steadies her knife before itâs too late.
Strong and powerful. Thatâs what the campers have to say about him. And she doesnât disagree with them. But then again...heâd surrendered to her. Heâs beautiful this way, she decides.
I just want to be on good terms with you, he seems to say.
But the moment is gone as quickly as it began.
She finally hears the wolf whistling, the catcalls. Sighing, Annabeth lowers her knife and extends a hand. He accepts it, standing up way too close for her liking. From here, she can make out the smell of sweat coming off of him.
âWell played, Percy.â
He nods, that troublemaker smile tugging at his lips. Her stomach tumbles, not knowing what to make of it after what had happened.
His expression transforms into something else, though. It becomes one of those easy smiles that he shares with few people, where you get to glimpse a piece of his heart, just for a few seconds.
âUh...it was nice doing this with you,â he says.
âYou mean nearly killing each other?â
âYou could say that. OrâŠâ he looks down, then glances at her briefly, nervously. âOr just doing things with you. You make sparring all the more interesting.â
She shoves his shoulder lightly, and he laughs, breaking the tension.
âIâm glad I can be interesting to you.â
His eyes soften. âYouâre more than that.â
She nods. Some things never change,
âWell, then...maybe think about training with me instead of Chiron. You know, since weâre so good at fighting.â
âWill do.â
â...See you tomorrow, then,â she says.
And before she can glimpse the look on his face, she vanishes into the crowd of onlookers.

Yanderes Killing their S/O
Hello again to another one of these analysis posts! I've been thinking lately about yandere tropes and one of the biggest ones that came up in my mind was the idea of yanderes killing their s/os. A lot of people in asks have often stated that this idea is rather cliche or not executed properly, so let's get into why that might be.
First, before examining this, let's talk a bit about the origins of yanderes. I've probably mentioned this a bit before either in other asks or other analysis, but the idea of yandere comes from the deconstruction of the trope Yamato Nadeshiko. Obviously, there are other cases of yanderes outside Japan, but we'll talk specifically about the Japanese history of it. Yamato Nadeshiko is the idea of idealized Japanese women. A person who is a Yamato Nadeshiko is often very obedient, graceful, and has maturity and humility while still being able to rule with a forceful push without being overly emotional. This is the idealized version of Japanese women, at least in the Neo-Confucious era. However, the deconstruction part of this comes when the character in question doesn't have this kind of inner force, basically becoming a doormat. When a character is overly graceful and still gets stepped on like a doormat, they are likely to snap and become violent, something that is shown a lot when it comes to yanderes. This is where the deconstruction comes in. If the character is forced to love such a perfect life but is still stepped on over and over again, at some point, this person will snap and destroy everything in their path. This idea still persists a bit in yanderes as often yanderes are characters who outwardly seem very graceful and perfect, while inwardly they are more obsessive. There is a really good read on it here that goes more in-depth with the origins of yanderes and the psyche of Yuna.
Like I've said before, we can still see how the idea of Yamato Nadeshiko still persists in yanderes, at least in broad terms. A lot of yanderes, in both male and female forms, are often depicted as kind, graceful and smart, at least initially. For instance, in terms of a school setting, this kind of character is not only nice to everyone but has the best grades, a huge army of fans behind them, and good teachers. Outwardly, they're likely to be depicted as perfect or a kind person, but inwardly, it's likely that they're a lot more twisted and obsessed. It's not necessarily just in a school setting either, a lot of yanderes are depicted as kind and perfect people when in reality they are a lot more dangerous than they might appear. With this thought, this perfection is shattered when they fall in love, becoming attached and obsessed with their lover, to the point of them being unstable and unable to live without them. If something goes wrong with them and the s/o, for instance, the s/o cheats on them, then they snap, often causing the death of the s/o in the process. This part is where we see the Yamato Nadeshiko snaps from the pressure, and in this case, the yandere snaps causing the death of the s/o.
So why do many people find that a yandere killing their s/o unacceptable or uninteresting? The idea of a yandere killing their s/o is nothing new. In fact, it often makes a lot of sense that a yandere might kill their s/o, especially if the s/o has done something wrong, and the yandere themselves are not stable. Well, there are a couple of reasons why this trope is unacceptable or uninteresting to a lot of people.
For one, this trope of a yandere killing their s/o is expected and often becomes cliche. Yanderes killing their s/o has been pretty synonymous with the archetype itself, next to knives and the yandere face. If the s/o cheats on the yandere, of course, the yandere is going to get mad and kill the s/o. If the yandere misunderstands what the s/o is doing, of course, they might feel that death is the only option for them. Just looking at most yanderes, we often expect them to kill their loved one, but the idea is just very cliche. Now, mind you, there's nothing wrong with writing a yandere that kills their s/o, it's how you execute it. Often a lot of people write the yandere killing their s/o in the same way- the yandere misinterprets/interprets the s/o doing something that jeopardizes their relationship or they find that something is trying to stop their relationship and become a killer to stop it. Cheating is pretty common and so is talking to competition, with the yandere misinterpreting the action. The problem with this is that it's often written in a way that just makes it seem like the yandere is being paranoid without really anything to back it up. We expect that this action will cause conflict with the s/o and a lot of times we expect what they saw to be a misunderstanding or something that's not worth killing over. This itself has been done over and over again, so much so that again, many people expect it.
The second reason is that often, the yandere is not written well, and therefore the death of the s/o is more for shock factor if anything. When the yandere kills their s/o, yes, we might understand why he does it in terms of reason, but we don't really sympathize or care about it because we don't actually know why the yandere thinks that way. This may have worked when the concept of a yandere was still being formed, but nowadays, it's important that your characters have some sort of depth to them. This isn't just the case with specifically yanderes either, many things that used to be simple concepts (anime, cartoons, comics, even films) often now have more characterization of characters in terms of things like backstories, personalities, and actions outside of their stories. I really do like this trend and it makes me happy that people are putting more depth into what each character is like and why they are like that. But a lot of the time, especially for smaller one-shots, we don't really see much of why a yandere might decide to kill their s/o. We might be able to infer or take a guess, but it doesn't seem like it would really give enough information or even enough emotion to empathize. I'm not saying that it's impossible to write a developed character in a one-shot, it's just there is less space to do so. In one-shots, its also very easy to simply kill the s/o at the end because the story won't continue on from there.
Finally, the last reason is that when the yandere does kill the s/o, we often don't really feel for the s/o's death because the s/o isn't really established as a character. This is also something that can happen with yanderes as well since the yanderes often don't have much characterization, but I feel like this is especially true for the s/o. A lot of times, the s/o has such basic characterization that there's really nothing to describe them other than being "nice" or "kind". this is especially true in otome games where the MC is suppose to be the stand in for the character, but actually acts rather irrationally or in a stupid way to get specific character endings or bad endings. Even in stories, I often find the yandere far more interesting then their love interest, mostly because the love interest doesn't have any interesting or insightful qualities or flaws. In fact, it almost seems as if the s/o is meant to be killed because of how uninteresting they are, which is unfortunate as it means that they weren't very well written. We can also see this in terms of the yandere itself as often we don't even get to see what their reaction is to murdering their s/o and what effect they may have on them emotionally or physically in the long run. Do they mourn for the loss of the s/o? Do people find out about who killed the s/o? Does the yandere even realize they've killed the s/o? There's a lot of different questions that often aren't explored when it comes to what happens.
There are probably a lot of reasons why people don't like the yandere troupe of killing their s/o and there's good reason to be. But that doesn't mean that you can't write a yandere that kills their s/o in a story. But you should consider a few things while thinking about writing it, to better write a good character.
First of all, consider how the yandere leads up to killing the s/o as well as the reason for killing the s/o. In a lot of cases, it's because of jealousy that is often mistaken (they think the s/o is cheating on them when in reality they're just asking about something else. This kind of miscommunication is common and honestly really annoying in all aspects, since it could be easily solved through. There are a lot of reasons to why the yandere may kill the s/o, and what might lead up to it. It might be a unfortunate consequence to a flaw that they might have, for instance if a yandere was very brash and violent they might end up accidentally killing the s/o who was protecting someone. Or it might be something that is more built up, like a problem with insecurity that ends up with the death of the s/o, because they feel like they just aren't good enough for them. It could also be something that is done on purpose, like the s/o's existence means the end of the world and they force the yandere to kill them. Or it could be in a more antagonistic way, like the yandere killing the s/o to force them into hell with them. Having these characterization makes the yandere feel more interesting or at least gives reason to the way that they are.
Second, consider the feelings the yandere has after killing the s/o. Most of the time, the yandere kills the s/o and the story ends, either because its the end of a long story or because the story itself is a one-shot. Unfortunately this means that we don't actually see what the effects of the death will cause the yandere. Assuming that the story doesn't end with just the yandere killing the s/o, we can delve deeper into what kind of feelings the yandere may feel. If the death was an accident, for instance, the yandere may feel despair over their death and blame it on themselves. They may take their own life or try to find a way to revive their loved ones. They may feel accomplishment if they were a reluctant yandere, where they won't feel shackled to having the obsessive feelings anymore. It's likely that they will mourn over their s/o, and if they are an enlightened yandere, they may be able to move on, but if they are more delusional, they may believe that the s/o is still alive and treat their bodies as such. There's a lot of reactions to death, both good and bad, so it might be interesting to see how a yandere would react to something as drastic as their s/o's death.
Third, consider the s/o themselves and how their death may affect other people besides the yandere. Even if the s/o is extremely bland with little character, it's hard to believe that nobody would care about their death. The s/o should have some semblance of character, even if it is a bit of a cliche, such as being very rash, being responsible, being cold, really anything that can distinguish them from just a plain MC. If you consider the death of the s/o, we might also see how others around them felt, whether they cared for the s/o or if they absolutely hated them can help give the s/o more character even after death. For instance, if everyone absolutely hated the s/o, they might feel that the only way to escape being isolated is death, which is what they enlist the yandere to do. Or perhaps they feel that death is the only way to achieve enlightenment and tries to manipulate the yandere into killing them. Perhaps the s/o really hates the yandere, so as revenge, they somehow get the yandere to kill them to scar them forever. Maybe, the s/o is a very clumsy person, and despite being warned again and again by the yandere to be careful, they end up being in the yandere's path and end up being killed because of their carelessness. This all gives development of the yandere and the s/o's relationship together, which could help in why the yandere acts the way that they do, and the cause of the s/o's death.
All in all, the death of an s/o by the hands of the yandere can prove to be an interesting trope if written correctly. Just like any cliche can be made interesting again with a bit of tweaking, so writing the death of an s/o through the yandere can be as well. There's no right or wrong way to write it, just try to make the story and interesting and fulfilling one to experience.
