HI CLARA!!! ^_^ im so sorry this took me so long </3 but im here. to talk about bastion and his relation to certain Characters

so in very broad strokes bastions opinion of everyone started from some flavor of "i am so incredibly scared of this person. they may kill me." because early story bastion was terrified. of everything. i like to think he starts getting braver and coming into his own over the course of heavensward into stormblood esp. spent a lot of arr crying and sobbing and the scions were probably begrudgingly peeling him off the floor a lot. but once he toughens up a little and learns how to hold a basic conversation he gets along really well with most everyone <33

i might only really talk a bit about a few particular scions here shrimply bc id like to revisit parts of msq for some and think out individual dynamics more without taking 29382 more years to answer this. or even just that i might not have Extremely in depth thoughts on everyone <:3 and also im not trying to write a novel yet. that being said

to jump in. i really have to start with yshtola who else could i begin with. she was the the first scion he met and probably the first person he met since leaving home he could actually call a friend <3 i think she really appreciates that bastion is trying as hard as he is to learn all that he can at first and i can see them bonding a lot early on just from yshtola helping him with his funny little spellcasting. i do think especially early on shes kind of protective of him, even if bastion does rly come into his own later on :3 shb was fun regarding that she was really worried about him teehee. but no theyre very very close. bastion looks up to her a lot

i have so much love in my heart for the twins but its really funny bc bastion was ESPECIALLY scared of them early on. i really do have to revisit a lot of earlier msq to remember exactly how they (and everyone else) were then and how theyve grown but they easily get the worst of bastions unfounded fears of everyone starting out bc he just sees two people who are younger than him and somehow FAR more accomplished and it scares him. bastion probably spends a lot of time early on comparing himself to them both pretty harshly. of course this really stops off as he starts actually accomplishing things and grows more confident in himself and eventually considers them very close friends ^_^ him and alisiae in particular get on like a house on fire once bastion comes out of his shell more. theyre having fun

last person i think ill mention for now is thancred :3 i know at one point i was toying w the idea of "omg what if they ...kissed?" but i think that can stay a silly little hypothetical offshoot idea i just thought he was cute for a few seconds (which he is but yknow) but no theyre also pretty good friends. he probably helps bastion a lot starting out wrt learning to actually socialize and talk to ppl in the day to day without throwing up from anxiety every five seconds. he shrimply has a reassuring presence <3 i do think when bastion first sees him in arr and sees that hes well liked/good at talking to ppl he starts Studying him in the hopes of being more like that. hes probably the second person bastion goes to hide behind when hes scared after yshtola lol. but no nowadays i can see them doing a bunch of fuck ass Dad activities like fishing and grilling or whatever (bastion is not a Dad Guy but believes in their beliefs)
