I logged on to let you guys know that I uninstalled mobile and am finishing mastodon migration TODAY after getting a bonus mini panik from autoplay audio ads.... I haven't been on desktop in a few weeks... Want to guess how long it took me to find my own blog on this nightmare desktop UI? Too long. Too. fucking. Long. It's called "unintuitive ui" if it's not downright hostile (ie: stay longer for ads!). Feel free to reply "why don't you just remember to turn your sound down every single time you stop listening to music like any of us have that kind of time and attention" to be autoblocked. Stay tuned. I'll probably drop the new location in the next few hours as I tweak things. I am moving ALL the sub-blogs, so we can understand that takes a little time, yes? Yah, you can drop useful Mastodon related asks in my box.

Re-customized my tumblr theme so it's less boring! I might try and see if I can get, like, those blog inserts where the fish follow ur cursor around that used to exist way back when! Not sure if they'll fit the space aesthetic though

oohhh i'm finally starting act 3... sumeru archon quest is actually quite interesting but maybe i just havent played g3nshin in so long that past archon quests are muddled in my memories and so the current one is a lot more appealing

but in my time away from this game.. i realize the quests now are a little different..? h0yo implemented small changes like slightly cinematic scenes and camera angles that make quests register more as a film. it's not very interactive, as past and current g3nshin quests usually are, so it's not necessarily a huge improvement but i appreciate it. i can just autoplay and do chores hahaha

anyway ive mentioned this before but playing the game now is so much more fun because im not in the fandom and am behind like 2 years of community talk aka theories drip marketing etc.. i genuinely dunno any of the sumeru charas and esp the fontaine charas. who tf is the hydro archon. also got jumpscared by dottore in act 3 LMFAO i had NO IDEA HE EVEN HAD AN IN GAME MODEL THATS NUTSSS. cool ass cutscene though

At least in my opinion, a threat to sue has the same implications (eg intimidation, which is what is suggested in that who’s afraid of little old me lyric from my previous post) as actually suing, esp with respect to Taylor Swift’s legal team. While I agree that it’s a safety concern for him to be posting real time updates, the way her team handled it (as seen in the citing of Instagram comments rather than actual laws or smth more substantial in the cease and desist) indicate greater concern for the implications on her image rather than her safety alone, as they’re trying to make out. Again, this last bit is just my perspective, so for argument’s sake let’s say that her concerns were only to do with her safety.

In a more general sense, that lyric (isnt that what they all say that I’ll sue you if you step on my lawn) implies that she has the (false) image of being a “bully,” for lack of a better term, such as through legal action. For example, the olivia rodrigo credit situation. I’m not going to include any screenshots of that since I think all the events have been pretty well-documented, but I think it’s pretty hypocritical of her to come out with imgonnagetyouback just a few months after get him back. I know the concept initially originates from Fiona Apple in 2005, but it seems odd that taylor suddenly decides to write a similar song when the most recent significantly popular instance of it was get him back. I think it’s unfair to have a double standard in this case, as in either both olivia and taylor were at fault or neither were, but what taylor (or her legal team) deems acceptable seems to revolve around what is beneficial for her at any given moment.

If you want to get even more generic and just focus on her attacking people who “step on her lawn,” I think the variant releases demonstrate that. Yes, I know other people do it too, but I rlly don’t care for that line of defence (it’s like a child trying to justify cheating or misbehaving just because ‘everyone does it.’ I am (or was) only emotionally invested in taylor and not other artists as she is (or was) someone I’m a fan of.).

With the numbers her variants were doing, I think it’s clear that it was her name/ the hype of the eras tour driving the success rather than the artistic merit of the releases, most of which were just live tour recordings of the same songs on ttpd. Moreover, she tried to stay #1 at the expense of others in the music industry like Sabrina carpenter (yes I know she tried to do that whole Spotify autoplay thing with espresso but I can understand her trying to acquire a certain level of success as a bubbling artist). What really irks me is that at her status, breaking these records is more of an ego thing than anything else. She herself has said in Miss Americana that she seeks validation through awards, and she barely talked about the charts meaning that they provide a more superficial kind of reassurance. It feels very unsportsmanlike to not let others have their time to shine because and ONLY because she is not succeeding/breaking these records through her own continued artistic merit. I’m not saying she should go out of her way to let others hit #1, Im saying she shouldn’t go out of her way to stop others from hitting #1.

tu/mblr i will take whatever ads so yall can stay alive since i wont get prem/ium possibly ever, im rly not as no as a lot of ppl but like im poor man lol i realize the issues keeping me from gettng any premi/um probably cant be fixed anyways until they can pay devs to fix them, like thats something i dont see a lot of people realizing or understanding like a website is expensive to keep open esp one needing as much data as tumbs does to function, some ppls distaste is a little mean and kind of lacking that understanding i think but i digress, but like heres the thing, i will accept any ads tumbs. unless they have sound. autoplay sound ads are actually villainous esp to your largely neurodivergent base and the level of reduced screentime ive had this week JUST from the autosound ads being SUCH a turn off??? that does not help me or u dudes

Sometimes when I let music autoplay on YouTube I come across an artist who has the best music I've heard in a long time, and then I see they have like 40 subscribers and no more that 5k views on any of their music and get really really sad.

Esp when their videos have damn good production value.

Anyways found an electro synth artist in Madagascar who has good music to vibe to and here's his original song.

Honestly, I can't help comparing it to the previous BG games. ofc i miss the old charactes (esp the recurring ones. havent met mink and boo in bg3 yet) but there are some old game mechanics i miss too. BG3 def. plays as more dnd but i liked the extra stuff from the older games like team formations and (dont @ me im a casual player) auto play lol. it def takes u out of the dnd experience when u autoplay but- and this is a big point-

DnD mechanics fucking sucks to play alone. it's a ttrpg w multiple players, u arent supposed to be planning the moves for everyone else. Yeah, BG3 has a multiplayer option but do i fucking look like i have friends?? playing single player like this sucks man. give me the option for my braindead computer gamified dnd :(((

but overall having fun. it's worlds diff when ur playing w someone else! def more fun :)

tumblr mobile is so buggy (esp w my busted ass iphone) that when i clicked on the new chapter with the legendary heeseung promo vid, it autoplayed and my screen got stuck with the video playing on loop and i couldn't even exit out the app or turn my phone off so i was stuck with a heeseung powerpoint slideshow for a several minutes and i was a THIS close to pulling my hair out

Honestly thanks for having a bunch of 2010 and later films on that uquiz cause its so hard to find reliably campy ones that don’t spit out jokes every 5 minutes

you are so welcome !! i rlly ended up with wayyyyy more of recent decades on that quiz and a lot of the reason is sites like tubi and peacock, i found most of those movies (esp from 2010s and 2020s) by wandering like, 4 levels deep in the autoplay up next features on those sites and a lot of those just lead me to newer films, it’s not always Great movies (plenty did not make that quiz as actual recommendations) but i like it!
