Day 7 Chemical Reaction
It's a cocktail of dreams,
And pauses.
.
You know this.
.
Two steps to the left,
and the silence keeps on playing.
.
"This is all we are," you say.
Synapses and rehearsed dreaming,
Patterns snapping into place
And memories woven out of electrical elation.
.
"We are the sum of several parts,"
You tell yourself on dreary nights.
Processes and pent-up divergence.
.
Meaningless nothing.
.
Turn right, then left
Go upward.
Choose leave, then stay.
.
"It is like dancing," She says,
Thinking that she will catch your attention
Through simple little similes.
.
She won't.
You know this now.
.
Your mind is quiet but firing off
 a million and one ideas
Too tired to be articulated.
.
Feelings and belonging washed up
In a rush of excitement.
.
This is all there is.
Jaded but true.
.
Choose stay,
Linger and breathe in the cocktail of lies,
Let it buzz over your fingertips,
Flowing free in your veins.
.
Choose leave,
Trap the wire shut.
Don't let it become all there is of your anger.
.
Move upward,
Ignore the senseless pull in your brain,
That tells you here and this and there.
.
Let happiness rush out through your breath.
.

Sometimes, I do miss studying chemistry. I wish I could do literature and chemistry at the same time.

chemical reaction
the words that leave her mouth ignite the butterflies, like gunpowder behind my ribs with a bonfire heart smoke begins to settle, clarity appears science class reminds me of coating my hopes in false gold forever preserved, rusted underneath my heart feels like debris left behind mixed into a new solution to avoid artificial loneliness, i’ll fake until i make it

chemical reaction
escapril day seven
it wasn’t like a light switching on :
wires buzzing and whirring
and instantaneous illumination.
i don’t think i ever even noticed
that the switch was on.
we were wide eyed children
whispering during church service,
giggling between handfuls of sour candy.
i thought you were pretty.
i liked your laugh but more than that
i like that you made me laugh.
you were the class clown but also
the smartest girl there and
i thought i wanted that to be me,
but i wanted you to be mine.
i walked on rocks and daydreamed,
us being the characters of a taylor swift song.
she/her
you/me
i wrote an entire book in my imagination
of what we could have been.
i saw you a few years later at a college fair.
i didn’t think my heart could beat that fast
until you touched a button on my bag
and it exploded like a match to gasoline.
i have a new idea of love now
and a new subject who’s name to
place in taylor swift songs.
but i can’t vow against another
chemical reaction if i see you again.

Too long my brain has been cluttered
with the darkness of memories
Or cloudy moments
All black and dismal
With strings of cobwebs long forgotten
As though no-one has cared to maintain
The scary depths of my brain.
Out of nowhere bolts of joy flashed through
Like the feeling of kissing in the pouring rain
As the sun peaked over
A broken cloud in the far distance
Suddenly, nearly all at once
Happiness was made and the things
Which were once so broken
Now dance with excitement
Everything fizzes and sparkles
Dusting away the bleakness of before
As a new sun shines proudly over my thoughts.

@misha-moose-dean-burger-lover , this is amazing! I don't even understand half the things 😂😂 but it is,,, so good.
(Hahahaha someone hand me a dictionary please my chemistry knowledge is trash)
((Also really random but I currently have a chemistry teacher and he's awesome and he's really, really, like freakishly good at poetry. And I might have suspicions that he's doing escapril too and I'm just laughing when about what his reaction will be when he gets to this prompt jsjdksk ahhahaha see the pun I made xD okay okay I'll go))
we’re a chemical reaction away from
oblivion,
just a catalyst away from joy.
and like electrons circling
their nuclei toward,
we do it all for them who promise
to hold us through the night.
our fruits rot rancid
each night, after nother
begging for preserve -
weak, tarnishable skin.
and lungs burn within,
in this life-giving air,
for respire's
but a fancy syllable for combust.
our souls are a careful prod away
from withering,
like burnt ashes of a brilliant
magnesium flame.
and resonance isn’t just atoms,
or arrows,
or loops,
sometimes, oh sometimes, it’s sin.
what if’s aren't to be in science!
an irony it is to damn you, disproportionation.
find us, label us,
claim us,
breathe us.
elements aren't just in our books.
