ohhhh i feel like such a fool!!! the reason Käärijä’s backing dancers have such terrifying smiles is because they’re wearing gum shields/mouth guards - a nod to the boxing-themed music video for Cha Cha Cha!! that’s actually brilliant - and adds a little touch of insanity to an already bonkers song 🙈💖

It's so interesting going back to Käärijä's Instagram comments around the time Cha Cha Cha was released because you can pinpoint the exact moment the other UMK competitors realised the underdog was going to beat them 😅💚

i really love people's eurovision rankings bcos without exception, no matter how similar someone's tastes are to mine, there's always at least one song where i'll be like. what the fuck. it's either an absolute banger they've ranked criminally low, or the worst song i've ever heard in top 10. and while i do judge, i also think it's kind of charming, unity in diversity or whatever ✌️
