Despite Eric Kingler being notoriously known as a very cold cut off and harsh Champion, very different from the rest of his league who are known as somewhat warm and welcoming, he embodies the stereotype of the “Helpful Region”. He’s constantly working with Charities and orphanage’s to help get kids set and ready to become trainers. Schools of all age, from Pre-School to even every Collage in the Region, are in works with the Chairwoman and Champion. No Kid Left Unturned is the main slogan for all of this.

Eric has been very vocal, despite the thorn covered words, about how he was dropped through the cracks in his school all throughout his life and the struggle to get where he is today. His goal is to never see that happen to another kid again as long as he can help it. This is also what makes him a ruthless Champion to fight against. It’s not because he thinks people will see him differently if he has losses in his ledger but the fact that if he lost as the Champion everything he’s been building and working for will be for naught and he’ll never be able to see his plans come into fruition.

This also makes Orago very known for their high drive in the arts like theater, movie making, street art, and their vast genre of music and less focus on things like sport and regrettably history. Despite losing several high quality libraries filled with knowledge of the pass, due to Team Stygian, and the general assumption history would be brought to the forefront next to arts by these events. History is still very much not put into important lights to this day. Looked over for more prominent things like math, science, and most importantly agriculture.

There’s two teams that plague Orago and their known as Team Stygian and Team Lampsi. Unlike most vile Teams that plague the world, the history of Stygian and Lampsi is very well known.

Stygian and Lampsi are named after the original founders, rivals of each other from the beginning. Meeka Stygian and Venus Lampsi used to be best friends before they left to become trainers. Armed with an Eevee and Lillipup, both starting out with normal types as per their collective family’s tradition. Meeka quickly climbed the ladder of strength while Venus struggled. This gained the attention of the current Champion, Nikes (pronounced weirdly as Knights) who ironically is one of Eric’s strongest inspiration, and he immediately offered his support and guidance to Venus. This obviously blew up around the Region and Meeka quickly got jealous.

This ends up making her end her friendship permanently with Venus on the count that it was unfair to her. How was it fair that Venus got the attention willingly while Meeka, and almost every other trainer in the Region, struggled to be good enough to face off the Champion. Venus wasn’t even a good trainer to begin with. More hurtful words were said to each other and Champion Nikes guiltily retracted his help all together. Leaving the two girls fuming with an unrepairable relationship. When the two got older they created the teams using their last names.

The names basically boil down to dark and light, in context but i didn’t really try that hard with the names.

Meeka had quickly grown to dislike the Champion and his giving nature, which is selective in her eyes, and vowed to burn the mans history to the ground. Thus the events of several libraries filled with knowledge, not just of that Champion but others as well, to the ground. Venus who quickly caught onto Meeka’s plans created her team in hopes of stopping her. But instead of working with the authorities she thought all the knowledge was best in her hands, and the hands of her team, alone. Their ideals both quickly turned into toxic obsession to the point that anyone who was even remotely associated with Champion Nikes ideals were in danger.

Now both teams are scouring Orago from top to bottom for the last remaining information of Champion Nikes and others to either burn and squirrel the information away. Leaving Eric to struggle with his duties and bringing up his lack of care for history as a whole. As now his Region is in danger of having even more very important dates, events, and people lost to burning fire and half a century old rivalry. On top of that keeping his life safe alongside his friends, coworkers, and his toxic family. All who could be held against him for even an inch of ground he holds can and will be used by both teams.

Thus bringing us back around to why Eric is so cold but with a big bloody heart hidden inside of him. No Kid Left Unturned is also based off of the two Teams and their know history. Only known from a diary Nikes had left for the upcoming Champions if he was unable to disband them before his dethroning or death took ahold of him.

Welcome to the Beginning

This is the start of a passion project of mine. Myself and some close friends are early in the stages of a Dungeons and Dragons Campaign set in a universe inhabited by pokemon, rather than the typical high fantasy creatures.

To give some background, our group played some D&D set in the wonderful universe of The Adventure Zone with yours truly as Dungeon Master. Eventually this endeavor became too ambitious for myself as our party was much larger and I was new to DMing. At this stage I requested that we begin something new, as most of us were fans of pokemon, I suggested this as our backdrop.

At this stage I was still acting as Dungeon master and my party was comprised of:

Kimura - A protective monk Ralts with the ambitions to become a knight.

Sister Joy - A motherly cleric Audino who had never known life outside the cathedral.

Eric Withakay - A lonesome druid Eevee simply wandering from place to place.

Prie - An orphan sorceress Togepi living in the care of the church.

Kyndred - A valiant fighter Cubone living his young life as a hero and protector to the people.

Lucky Duck - A hermit artificer Psyduck living with his strange contraptions in his quiet home.

I began the adventure with a mystery, the party had been accused of the murder of Dr. Theodore Mime, and they were provided the opportunity to clear their names. After tracking down every lead, the party learned that the Doctor had been working in their small town as a member of a cult, giving to a goddess in return for improvements to the town. The doctor had become ambitious and took to using a gem with strange energy to call upon her powers sucking the lifeforce from children in return for the power he needed. During the battle with our Doctor, Theodore sucked his own life away bringing the goddess Magearna to life. Upon their clash, the party defeated the goddess with all that remained the gemstone.

At this point the party had cleared their names, with the offering of recruitment into the knight’s guild looking into matters regarding the unexplained.

In their travels, they briefly crossed paths with the god Hoopa and his deadly games, as well as a cult of the moon, racist guardians of the forest, and an underground slave colony.

With this our hermit Lucky had made quite a name for himself with tales of his deeds spreading to every corner of the world, the people dubbing him the Mighty Duck.

Sister Joy turned her back on the church in light of a diety attacking innocent children, focusing on the teachings of her diety Xerneas, the god of life, by protecting the helpless.

Kimura overjoyed with his new position, found a young romance in a Kirlia by the name of Alice as well as the pressure by his new mentor the Captain of the Knights to keep his party in check.

Eric Withakay had grown upon the defeat of Magearna, evolving into a Leafeon. And continued his laidback nature of smoking weed and helping where he could.

Prie as timid as ever remained quiet, briefly ensnared by the politics of a strange superstition of the powers that togepi’s have. Plagued by a disease that caused her long hours of sleep.

Kyndred found a friend in a young Mareep going by Elise, Elise had stowed away following them to adventure but Kyndred swears to protect her.

At this stage the party was asked to investigate a strange castle appearing the desert to the north. Armed with little knowledge, the crew headed to Spruce Valley.

In Spruce Valley, the party found that almost the entirety of the village was comprised of fire breathers (fire types) who had been shunned by society for their ill-fated destructive nature. The elder pointed them north instructing them that the young knight of the village Magnus had ventured to find out more about the castle they had been asked to seek. Venturing into the dunes the party found a strange forest and at the heart of it, a castle constructed entirely of ice. They fought strange green skinned creatures and encountered a mutated Kingdra, searching for a safe way into the castle magically filled with water. Finding a garden, the party was sealed inside the enclosure, with the only way forward seeming to be a rear door leading into the castle. Unfortunately it was at this time that dozens of Kinglers poured out of the kitchen inciting a battle.

This is the point of the story where some members of the party had raised some concerns about my Dungeon Master skills. With this, I asked the player for Kimura to take over as acting Dungeon Master as his player was not enjoying themselves to the fullest.

And thus, Captain Fletch was born, a swashbuckling pirate Riolu bent on joining the Mighty Duck’s Crew and slaying gods with him. This is where I will pick up with the logs of his adventures with his new and somewhat unwilling crew.

I’m looking over my Orago region notes and I fucking gave Jackson all poison typing instead of bug. I think i was mentally doing Lily’s team instead. I’ve changed things around now.

Jackson Mquires gym team: Butterfree (Gigantamax), Pinsir (Mega Evolution), Scyther, Centiskorch (Dynamax), Frosmoth, Ribombee (Fairy Zcrystal)

Personal team: Scyther, Frosmoth, Ribombee, Burmy (Plant Cloak), Scizor

Lily Nova: Nidoking, Crobat, Skuntank, Garbodor (Gigantamax), Dragalge (Dragon Zcrystal), Toxicroak

Unlike most regions gym leaders who have their personal team as their gym league team, Orago heavily suggests Gym Leaders to have separate teams. Though most of them intermingle their teams together. Usually just bringing their starter and another into their league team most of the time. Also unlike most regions Orago has the option to have Dynamax, Mega Evolution, and Zcrystals be active in their region. Zcrystals are only activated because they originated in Mount. Vince, a no longer active volcano filled with unbelievable jewels and treasures deep in the rocks near the dormant lava. They were harvested and brought over to Alola long ago before people started living there. They were originally used as high end money before Pokemon found out what they could be used for. A lot of the history has been lost to time and multiple mutilations of libraries filled with historic knowledge but now Zcrystals are naturally growing in Alola and the Tapu’s have folded their legendary magic into them. This was way back before Necrozma had come out of it’s original slumber and the Ultra Portals started opening.

Mega Evolution is possible only because Kalos had joined Orago in an agreement to creat spots, much like Dynamaxing, in return for Orago in supplying grass and water type Pokemon to help give life back to the dry lands behind Anistar City. All of this in hopes to ease the people of Kalos from the horrid battle that took place on the dusty barren grounds, a side hope of Kalos Pokemon population as a whole would thrive as a lot of Pokemon around Anistar City have fled and refuse to come back. Orago is known for their very strong grass typing, even though the league refuses to have a grass type gym and instead focus’s on their bug typing, and water typing. It’s been a long going project that Orago offered up first. Their way of showing support to Kalos in their trying time along with sending many of their construction workers to help rebuild the city as it quickly became apparent that a lot of people have lost their lives or have been disabled in some way. It’s the only thing they wanted back in return from helping, though it was almost waved off the table by Eric who was very concern for the French Region, and cementing their stereotype as the “Helpful Region”.

More on Eric Kingler and the league. (This is super long and I’m sorry i can’t put a read more since I have no computer)

Unlike his League who mostly have separated teams for their gyms and personal use, his team is used for both!

His starter is a shiny Eevee, named Miku and the only named Pokémon on his team, followed closely by his Goodra. Both being seen as his starter since he caught Goodra as a Goomy the same day he got Miku. His home town is Sherdee and the forest, Bikwood, is where he also captured his Dreepy which is now a Dragapult. The rest of his team is Blissey, his Grandma’s starter his Aunt gave him after winning the Champion title and also replaced his Braviary who quickly died of Pokémon specific cancer, Sawsbuck and Drampa.

Unlike most league members who have the option to Dynamax and or use different zcrystals with different Pokémon but don’t, Eric regularly trades out who does what on his team. Though he does tend to lean towards Miku but has the advantage on non-verbal signals during fights, Vincent taught him that, Eric is actively trying to catch himself and change that.

Sherdee is placed more in the lush side of Mount Vince, though not as close to the base of said mountain like Snow Cap who circle completely around the mountain in a very weird circle shaped town with parts. Winery’s, farmland, and general green rolling hills cover most of Sherdee’s north side while the south side is more population dense. East side is more lush wood dense, think more of Cali’s red oaks then anything, where most of the dark and poison typing mingle. The west side, towards New Loc, is a thinner more wet type of bog land where water and grass thrive. This is where Kalos is receiving most of the helping Pokémon through the trade.

Despite the extremely popular wineries and being the Champions home town, Sherdee is not that populated like New Loc or even Benene on the other side of the mountain. Filled with drillers and generally older people. The west side of Mount. Vince is just generally where older people move to go retire and live. The lush shady and green land is much more gentle then the harsh dry lands of the east side. Salond is the only town thats mostly filled of young adults and trainers. And having the second and last gym on the League docket especially helps.

Though Jackson is usually found in Lily’s gym, to the point it’s basically his gym mission to come drag him from his friends gym back to his, and prefers the quiet Sherdee brings. It’s also where he mostly gets his dispensed weed and other things of that nature. The poison gym is based around the more populated zone of Sherdee, south east to be exact where the majority of poison and dark type live. Vincent Ghoul, heavily named after the mountain, is the dark gym leader and also a pretty sick dude and his gym is based in the north west despite a lot of dark types don’t naturally live there. Despite his only communication being signing since he’s selectively mute, which Jackson lords over everyone else because he’s the only one that can keep up with Vincent, he’s a very social person. A big contrast against other dark type trainers who are cut off and cold.

He’s Eric and Jackson’s collective second rival and met them at the second gym, the electric one, in Soland. The gym leader, General Chad Manley, was screaming directly in Vincent’s face. Jackson was the first to move to confront the retired General but it was Eric who silently beat down the man in a one on one battle with his personal Toxtricity (Amped Form) with Miku. The issue clearly came to the light when Chad refused to give Eric and Vincent the Shock Badge on the fact that he refused to believe they both fairly beaten the man. Making them call in the nearest Officer Jenny who had to inform the league, it took half a month of precious time and a very public event of one of the chairmen threatening to terminate the general to get their badge. Jackson actually got his as a consolation for waiting and unable to battle. Making him feel he was inferior to Vincent and Eric and making their three way rivalry very wobbly with the other two trying their best to restore faith in their friend.

He makes it his mission to somehow becomes Chad’s boss in some way and now he’s sitting as the strongest gym leader of Orago and Chad’s boss. Despite also being the forth strongest gym, Vincent is very much on par with both Jackson and Eric. Having grown with the boys he just chooses to stay where he’s at. Because it didn’t matter if he was the forth weakest or the second strongest, he would still be placed in Sherdee, and being the forth gym means he gets to meet a lot more trainers. Vincent is also one of the only gym leaders to rarely use his Zoroark, his very beloved starter, in official battles. Opting to keep her out most of the time unless a really strong trainer comes through.

Unlike Galar, and now recently Alola, Orago does have an Elite section. Though its not an Elite four but an Elite three. It’s taking into account that instead of eight gyms there’s nine in the region. It’s a debate that Eric and Jackson have constantly as well. Jackson doesn’t want to become an Elite four for many reasons, the main one being that if he’s moved to the same building the other three and Eric are constantly at Jackson cannot give Eric a safe place to come and hide in when things get to much for the stoic man along with the ability of his gym being a bunker if the two Team’s gain serious ground against Eric. The second one being that he’d have a shit ton more paperwork and thats not flying by him at all. Eric’s side is that they can spend more time together, it’s unspoken between the pair but Jackson can easily tell the mans non-verbal point, and Jackson doesn’t have to switch teams which he hates doing.

It doesn’t cause any stress on the League as a whole but it can get annoying for out-of-Region trainers who travel to take part who naturally assume there’s just eight and the badge holder just has an extra slot just in case. Only to go and sign up only to realize there’s an extra gym that they miss and now can’t participate in the last conference, which is mockingly called the Wine Conference from how much Eric and the head Chairwomen drink just to stay on the line of sanity.

Lily comes in much later, once Eric works Jackson into the bug Gym and Vincent into the dark gym, she comes takes over the poison gym. Unlike older and more traditional Regions like Kanto and Hoenn who usually give their position to the next of kin, Orago has a rule that you strictly cannot do that in any sense. Also that gym ladder positions will change constantly, like each gym is in a different spot almost every year, the only constant ones are Vincent, Lily, and Jackson because they know their strength and weakness to keep their ladder position the same.

Water and Rock usually change the most due to their type difference, Electric very rarely moves and if it does it goes down, and this system has caused the League to hand out maps to every trainer with that years ladder. Ghost and Ice are the second most popular to move but unlike every years its every three years like clock work. The Ice Gym Leader is unable to properly work out her team, being wheelchair bound and unable to properly track through the snow, so it usually fluctuates from the lack of trainers. Cadenza Flicker, the Ghost gym leader, has no problem with the situation at hand. Unlike the others who hate having to constantly switch.

Cadenza Flicker and Mini Tooks are not best friends but their close. Unable to see each other as often as they wish since Mini is again wheelchair bound and unable to travel through thick snow like other trainers and Cadenza’s large flame burns that cover a majority of her body keep her from staying in the snow for long. Though, once the summer arrives and the majority of the snow melts, Cadenza moves her team up to Mini’s gym to keep the girl company until fall comes around.

The first time Eric Kingler meets Ash Ketchum is in the layers house. Brought there by the head Council’s themselves, Ace and Minx Kingston.

He was expecting a nice dressed man, probably younger then the council but certainly older then himself. Built like a tank with scars crisscrossing for days on his skin. Tallest person in the room where ever he goes. Controlling the area with just his presence.

Instead he’s show into a giant room. Tons of powered Pokémon laying about in beds and hanging from certain structures. In the middle of the high ceiling room is one of the smallest adults Eric has ever seen. Standing at least three feet lower then the top of Eric’s head and dressed in nothing but a giant XL faded red shirt with some kind of logo half peeled off and hanging off one of his shoulders. A pair of long socks that loom like they resemble Yamper paws, even paired with pink rubber grippy things that’ll stop him from sliding.

Dark Freckles colored his skin covered by a pair of frosty white glasses and a mass of curly blaxk hair that’s falling in his face. Ash was holding a sleeping Pikachu in his arms, clinging to the other shoulder of the shirt and tugging it in his sleep.

Ash leveled the two council members with a deadly glare and had only this to say; “I said I was fucking busy, what do you two fuckers not understand the concept of no!?”

What a... interesting greeting indeed.

Can you tell us about the bug type gym? Bug types are my favorite but they don't get enough love and the gym being last makes me think it's the strongest, which is interesting.

Jackson Mquires is what everyone immediately will say is a stoner. Because he is one. The man cannot go one fucking week without pulling a per test positive for fucking anything.

Does he give Pokémon the shit he uses? Hell no. He may be a ducking idiot b it he didn’t get to be top of the line Gun leader for giving his precious ‘Mons steroids. He’s childhood best friends with Eric and they both rag on each other since their so opposites.

Laid back with a very hippyish style of choice. He’s dark skinned with long healthy dreads and you can always spot him hanging with Lily Nova, the poison type Gym Leader, at her gym hanging out and watching her do her work outs while tossing sugary snacks at her. Rumors among the league say their secretly dating, other’s say their each others beards to get their over protective parents off their backs.

He’s very lanky, standing at almost 8 feet tall, and not all that strong physically wise. Basically a standing string of a tree. With gold eyes, and oddly enough, white freckles dotting his skin. Doctors has ruled it ‘albino freckles’ though that’s not the technical term.

Jackson comes from a very rich family. The youngest of ten siblings and apparently the only one successful enough in life to warrant his parents “effection”. Their constantly trying to push him to go for the champion title but Jackson likes keeping his head on his shoulders and his team with their limbs attacked thank you very much. Eric is to cemented to be pulled from the title without a war happening.

Maya Mquires is the proud family owner of a long line of dentists and she has multiple practices across Orago, Unova, and Sinnoh. She’s very much a Karen on steroids and bitches about everyone and anything if it doesn’t go her way. She specializes in fire types and her main Pokémon is her guard dog Houndoom.

Micheal Mquires is also a straight lace, no nonsense, military veteran. Even Lieutenant Surge despises the guy. He’s also a brilliant scientists and works with a bunch of backers on vaccines and other human body shit. He doesn’t have specializes in typing and his only Pokémon is a Garchomp.

Nidoking is his lovely evolved starter. He’s been with him since birth, as per family tradition on his mother’s side. Crobat, Skuntank, and Toxicroak were caught all in the same time. Dragalge was the first, and last, gift from his grandfather before the man past. The only reason why he was even given the old Dragon is because he’s “the only one with brains enough to deal with her.” Dragalge was his prized possession and it going to Jackson was like a slap to the face to his daughter. Garbodor is the last to join the crew, caught as a Trubbish in the back of his gym with its garbage bag ripped from scavenging Pokémon. He nursed it back to health and now she’s a vital part of the team.

CHAMPION PLEASE AND THANK YOU

So much enthusiasm!!!

So Orago’s Champion is a young black male named Eric Kingler.

He grew up with a single mom and two older sisters, all three women don’t like him much because his birth was what made the father skip town pretty much. To much children for the jackass apparently.

His oldest sister is 28 and goes by the nickname cas, her full name is Cassidy Kingler, and she’s a connisure in fashion. Playing in the big fields between Unova and Orago. She’s very stubborn and cold to everyone but her mom and her little sister. She specializes in fairy typing with a side track of physics. Eric always looked up to her from a distance, which resulted in him picking the side track of Dragon Typing, hoping to show her that he’s on her level and they can look at each other like respected adults and not uneven grounds.

The middle child is named Maria Kingler, pronounced as MY-Era, and she’s in the art industry. She works for a lot of top notch anime and cartoon companies. Highly thought after and the richest of all three kids. She’s snotty and basically a Karen 24/7. she specializes in just Smeargle, like her full team of six is just straight smeargles. She and Eric have little to no relationship between each other. Though she tries to get that good Clout off the fact that her little brother is Champion but no one really listens.

Mama Kingler, or Mrs. Nicky Kingler, is a very very very harsh women and mother. Borderline straight abusive on some days and just level 10 strict on others. This comes from her mental need to always be in charge ever since her husband left her after their last baby. Before that she was still a strict but warm and sweet women. She specializes in Electric and Foghting types. She has tried time and time to get her claws sunk back into her youngest child but Eric evades her just as much. Choosing to barricade himself in his house with his own ‘Mons on holidays then spend it going over to her house.

Eric Kingler is a very cold and distant man, don’t get him wrong he has a big soft and sweet side to him but it’s mostly shown behind closed secure doors. Very snarky and likes to push buttons on purpose but also very polite when it comes to it. He’s ever Chairmen’s best dream and their even worse nightmare. He challenges every law, every sponsor, everything that passes through the Chairmen’s hands. If it’s not nearly full proof and perfect then it’s not good enough.

He is also a very kinky motherfucker. Though his sex life tends to stay mostly in the league and therefore granting him the unofficial title league daddy since he’s such a dom in bed. This is also another instance where he’ll be warm and soft when someone needs it but also cold and almost cruel. It just really depends on what the sub needs.

His starter and best friend is his shiny Eevee. She’s been by his side for almost everything. Soon followed by his Herdier. Drampa was Eric’s first dragon type and he got it as a gift from his one main best friend, Lily Nova, when she came back from visiting Alola. Altaria is his sassy diva who’s attitude is just like his when facing off the chairmen. Kommo-o and Tyrantrum are the two newest members of Eric’s team. He got them after winning the championship title with just four Pokémon.

I’m a fucking idiot and forgot to physically describe Eric. His hair is naturally peppered silver and white at the age of 20 and he’s built almost like Lieutenant Surge. He’s a bit smaller and less bulky but still a fucking TANK. His eyes are bright blue with green splashed in and his voice is like Corpse Husband level deep.

Captain’s Log 202

After rousing young Kyndred to the challenge, we ascended up through the dais where Kyndred found the hole, and headed in the direction of where Eric and the Duck disappeared off to.

Behold though! Perhaps the Duck is mighty after all, for when we returned there were two! And it seems that in his power he slew a vast number of Kinglers! Although Eric does seem to be missing still, I hope he is alright.

The Ducks led us to a closet where strange markings were, after much struggling, Kyndred ripped the floor clear off revealing another pathway down. I had no idea that the young one had so much strength!

With the Ducks leading the charge we found our way into a corridor locked at the end, while investigating the alcoves in the hallway, I heard a yell and a bright flash of light came from the end. Looking onward I saw the sear of radiant light on the floor where the nun seemingly blasted the door open. But the strangest thing was that the door was still in tact and unharmed as we walked through.

Moving forward we found ourselves back in the crypt, I called for Kyndred to open the chest knowing fully of his strength now. With the swing of his bone and the stabbing of the egg’s daggers they cracked open the chest.

What followed is beyond words, a gorgeous blue egg floated out of the chest, cracks forming along the surface, spiderwebbing around it, and a golden light spilled from its cracks.

My target, my goal, my reason for this cursed venture. A goddess in all her glory before us. Then suddenly she submerged herself.

immediately I called to my aura, extending it out from me, there she was. I swam up a busted staircase following her trail, to find her in the garden from before.

She asked strange questions about why we were here, why were we doing this, blah. blah, blah. I didn’t care, I challenged her then, drawing my cutlass at her. Striking her, goading her, she lashed out with devastating power, I briefly fell but thankfully the nun is good for something and got me back on my feet. I would not hesitate while my target was here. A blood thirst I had not known since my early days on the high seas rose within. I did not stop for a moment. Eventually she began bleeding the blood of the gods, a golden ichor, I didn’t hesitate to finish her off.

My trophy hung in the air for only a moment as she disappeared, a ruby red gemstone, it glistened in the water. Before anyone else could think, I snatched it from the its position.

But there was a new issue, the water in the castle had started to decrease, things were melting, we had to get out.

Later on, when Ash meets Eric face to face for the first time instead of through lettered, Ash compliments him on No Kid Left Unturned and makes a comment or two how he wished he had something like that back in Kanto. It’s not unknown but not very known that Kanto may have some of the best testing scores in the world but a very very high teacher turn over rate for many things. Pallet Town not excluded.

They talk more about school and Ash brings up the Alolan school and Eric then complimented him back for being Alola’s first ever Champion. They go back and forth and Eric realized that he likes conversing with Ash, while giving Pikachu a full pet down of course because he still loves cute Pokémon, and Ash likes it too. They find a lot of common ground and even a lot of similar memories from their youth.

Lux and Tux were away at the moment, grabbing groceries and other items for the trip to the next town, while Ash was waiting for their Pokémon at the Pokémon center to be done healing and checked over by Nurse Joy. Eric was doing the same and that’s how they initially met face to face. Ironically Ash was opening the last letter Eric had sent him as they continued to correspond after he sent the first letter to Ash in Kanto. With the plane ticket and instructions on how to even get to Orago.

Despite Eric Kingler being notoriously known as a very cold cut off and harsh Champion, very different from the rest of his league who are known as somewhat warm and welcoming, he embodies the stereotype of the “Helpful Region”. He’s constantly working with Charities and orphanage’s to help get kids set and ready to become trainers. Schools of all age, from Pre-School to even every Collage in the Region, are in works with the Chairwoman and Champion. No Kid Left Unturned is the main slogan for all of this.

Eric has been very vocal, despite the thorn covered words, about how he was dropped through the cracks in his school all throughout his life and the struggle to get where he is today. His goal is to never see that happen to another kid again as long as he can help it. This is also what makes him a ruthless Champion to fight against. It’s not because he thinks people will see him differently if he has losses in his ledger but the fact that if he lost as the Champion everything he’s been building and working for will be for naught and he’ll never be able to see his plans come into fruition.

This also makes Orago very known for their high drive in the arts like theater, movie making, street art, and their vast genre of music and less focus on things like sport and regrettably history. Despite losing several high quality libraries filled with knowledge of the pass, due to Team Stygian, and the general assumption history would be brought to the forefront next to arts by these events. History is still very much not put into important lights to this day. Looked over for more prominent things like math, science, and most importantly agriculture.

There’s two teams that plague Orago and their known as Team Stygian and Team Lampsi. Unlike most vile Teams that plague the world, the history of Stygian and Lampsi is very well known.

Stygian and Lampsi are named after the original founders, rivals of each other from the beginning. Meeka Stygian and Venus Lampsi used to be best friends before they left to become trainers. Armed with an Eevee and Lillipup, both starting out with normal types as per their collective family’s tradition. Meeka quickly climbed the ladder of strength while Venus struggled. This gained the attention of the current Champion, Nikes (pronounced weirdly as Knights) who ironically is one of Eric’s strongest inspiration, and he immediately offered his support and guidance to Venus. This obviously blew up around the Region and Meeka quickly got jealous.

This ends up making her end her friendship permanently with Venus on the count that it was unfair to her. How was it fair that Venus got the attention willingly while Meeka, and almost every other trainer in the Region, struggled to be good enough to face off the Champion. Venus wasn’t even a good trainer to begin with. More hurtful words were said to each other and Champion Nikes guiltily retracted his help all together. Leaving the two girls fuming with an unrepairable relationship. When the two got older they created the teams using their last names.

The names basically boil down to dark and light, in context but i didn’t really try that hard with the names.

Meeka had quickly grown to dislike the Champion and his giving nature, which is selective in her eyes, and vowed to burn the mans history to the ground. Thus the events of several libraries filled with knowledge, not just of that Champion but others as well, to the ground. Venus who quickly caught onto Meeka’s plans created her team in hopes of stopping her. But instead of working with the authorities she thought all the knowledge was best in her hands, and the hands of her team, alone. Their ideals both quickly turned into toxic obsession to the point that anyone who was even remotely associated with Champion Nikes ideals were in danger.

Now both teams are scouring Orago from top to bottom for the last remaining information of Champion Nikes and others to either burn and squirrel the information away. Leaving Eric to struggle with his duties and bringing up his lack of care for history as a whole. As now his Region is in danger of having even more very important dates, events, and people lost to burning fire and half a century old rivalry. On top of that keeping his life safe alongside his friends, coworkers, and his toxic family. All who could be held against him for even an inch of ground he holds can and will be used by both teams.

Thus bringing us back around to why Eric is so cold but with a big bloody heart hidden inside of him. No Kid Left Unturned is also based off of the two Teams and their know history. Only known from a diary Nikes had left for the upcoming Champions if he was unable to disband them before his dethroning or death took ahold of him.
