Today is World EV Day. The day is observed every year with special awareness campaigns being organized globally to educate people about the benefits of electric vehicles.

While China is the world’s largest EV market, India is the second largest and most promising. Driven by incentives by the Centre and the states, the adoption of EVs is gaining momentum. Vendas do grupo Mercedes-Benz terminam ano em aceleração

As vendas do grupo Mercedes-Benz terminaram o ano em plena aceleração. O construtor teve de outubro a dezembro o melhor trimestre de 2024, mas o ano terminou ligeiramente abaixo de 2023, devido ao ambiente de mercado global desafiador.

O grupo Mercedes-Benz registou no quarto trimestre de 2024 um total de 625 800 veículos ligeiros de passageiros e veículos comerciais ligeiros de passageiros. Aquele volume é 2% inferior ao período homólogo de 2023, mas fica 5% acima do terceiro trimestre do ano. Não obstante a aceleração no período de outubro a dezembro, os 2,389 milhões de unidades registadas em 2024 ficam 4% abaixo do volume de 2023. A justificação é a conjuntura desafiante do mercado global.

“Em 2024, a Mercedes-Benz demonstrou mais uma vez o poder da nossa marca e o quão ampla é a oferta de produtos. Isto culminou em fortes vendas de nossos veículos top-end e core no quarto trimestre. Continuaremos a fortalecer o nosso portfólio com a maior ofensiva de produtos na história da nossa empresa, começando este ano com o novo CLA”, afirma Ola Källenius, CEO da Mercedes-Benz.

Segmento ‘core’ cresce

As vendas da divisão Mercedes-Benz Cars aumentaram 3% em relação ao trimestre anterior em 2024 para 520 100 unidades e atingiram o nível do ano anterior (+1%). Um bom desempenho de vendas na Alemanha, China e EUA no quarto trimestre levou a vendas anuais de 1 983 400 veículos em 2024 (-3%).

As vendas de veículos topo de gama (Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Maybach, Classe G, Classe S, GLS, EQS e EQS SUV) cresceram 34% em relação ao trimestre anterior para 82 800 unidades, impulsionadas pelas vendas da Mercedes-AMG, Classe S e Classe G, sustentadas por uma forte procura nos Estados Unidos em particular. O Classe G alcançou o seu melhor trimestre de vendas de sempre após os lançamentos de novos modelos em 2024, incluindo o novo Classe G elétrico. Além disso, as vendas da Mercedes-AMG no quarto trimestre resultaram no melhor trimestre de sempre, graças à disponibilidade de produtos melhorada e à procura dos clientes, especialmente pelos modelos Mercedes-AMG GT e Mercedes-AMG GLC.

As vendas anuais de veículos topo de gama ficaram abaixo dos níveis de 2023, atingindo 281 500 unidades (-14%), principalmente devido às condições de mercado na China, mudanças de modelo e fraca procura por veículos elétricos. O Classe S manteve-se como líder indiscutível no seu segmento, com uma quota de mercado de cerca de 50% em todas as principais regiões.

As vendas do segmento core (todos os derivados do Classe C e Classe E, incluindo EQC, EQE e EQE SUV) aumentaram 6% para 1 167 100 veículos em 2024, impulsionadas pela boa procura pelos modelos Classe E e GLC, o mais vendido. As vendas de veículos híbridos plug-in cresceram 13% em relação ao ano anterior em todas as regiões, enquanto a adoção mais lenta de veículos elétricos nos principais mercados levou a uma diminuição das vendas de veículos elétricos em 2024.

Mercedes-Benz Vans também cresce no trimestre

As vendas globais da divisão Mercedes-Benz Vans aumentaram 16% face ao terceiro trimestre, para 105 700 unidades, os melhores resultados trimestrais do ano, apesar dos desafios macroeconómicos globais (queda de 15% face ao trimestre homólogo de 2023). O crescimento das vendas foi principalmente impulsionado pelo mercado europeu, com vendas de veículos de tamanho médio e pequeno a subir e vendas de veículos de tamanho grande a um nível estável em comparação com o trimestre anterior.

Para o ano completo de 2024, as vendas da Mercedes-Benz Vans atingiram 405 600 unidades, principalmente impactadas pela descontinuação planeada do Metris (Vito) nos EUA, bem como pela mudança de modelo de veículos de tamanho médio na Europa (primeiro semestre) e na China (segundo semestre). Além disso, o desenvolvimento de mercado em declínio de veículos de tamanho grande com motor de combustão nos EUA e veículos de tamanho médio com motor de combustão na China afetou as vendas globais. Na Alemanha e nos EUA, as vendas no segmento comercial diminuíram principalmente devido à menor procura no negócio de veículos recreativos em comparação com o ano anterior.

No geral, o portfólio de produtos recentemente atualizado foi bem recebido pelos clientes, resultando em 86 300 unidades de veículos comerciais ligeiros de mercadorias vendidas no quarto trimestre (+10% em comparação com o terceiro trimestre, mas -19% face ao período homólogo de 2023) e 19 400 unidades de veículos comerciais ligeiros de passageiros vendidas no quarto trimestre (+53% em comparação com o terceiro trimestre e +9% em relação ao quarto trimestre de 2023). As vendas de veículos elétricos no quarto trimestre aumentaram (+59% em comparação com o terceiro trimestre), atingindo 6900 unidades vendidas, principalmente devido à contínua expansão do novo eSprinter, apesar de um ambiente de mercado moderado para veículos elétricos na Europa. As vendas anuais de eVans atingiram 19 500 unidades vendidas em todo o mundo, mantendo uma quota global de veículos elétricos de 5%.
